The typical American television viewer—who is not privy to inside information—can only conclude that the country which claims the title of “Destroyer of Civilizations,” is committed to full tribalism as defined by its own wish-fulfillment to self-actualize into the natural outlaw lair it has always been.

Since the apprehension of the brigand, Osama bin Laden, outlaw lairs now understand the American Eagle can suddenly swoop down to snatch the prey from the lap of security.

The Taliban is in many cases the people of Afghanistan and it is NOT in our national security interests to try to fashion a silk purse from a sow’s ear of diplomacy.

What may be retrieved from what many conceive to be yet another Don Quixote adventure, is a new awareness and resolve regarding the projection of American military power. This decisiveness of a nation—which remains committed to George Washington’s admonition that we be at all times prepared for war—has been severely compromised by Resident Obama’s continuing heralds of withdrawal timetables.

War must be understood in its totality, for it exacts the lifeblood and treasure of a nation and this war in Afghanistan was NEVER about nation-building for ingrates who tell us: “Thank you very much, now go home.”

Afghanistan was slated for punishment—not welfare–as a direct result of providing a safe haven for Osama bin Laden , thereby being in violation of George W. Bush’s doctrine for dealing with terrorist and sanctuary state as one cohesive unit.

War is a machine best greased and oiled by expropriation of the spoils, as Adolph Hitler correctly perceived.

With the recently discovered mineral wealth of Afghanistan, the value of which is in excess of a TRILLION dollars; it would be foolhardy to withdraw and leave this war booty to the enemy.

Countries which are defeated in war by the United States of America, cannot expect that as a direct result, they will somehow become the welfare wards of the American people, who are already tapped out to the limit.

Nor should these wretched people imagine they have the “civil rights” to move to Zoo America under a refugee designation.

Nowhere in the Constitution does it say that the American taxpayer is Santa Claus to the world, nor does the government hold the power to impose such a mandate over an ostensibly free people.

The concept of “nation-building” by amassing foreign entanglements, has now been proven to be another bright shining lie promoted by the titans of finance, who create war behind the scenes under color of United Nations authority.

America has become very confused regarding the obligations of war. It is not in the national interest to provide welfare to foreign governments, in the form of rebuilding cities destroyed by American military power. Nor is it a mandate to import these populations of defeated adversaries into American culture as “refugees,” when the whole country subjugated by American military power, qualifies under that designation.

The prosecution of war has become another facet of trade, where national wealth goes out and what returns as a business investment, is a refugee.

The international banker grows rich and fat and the state inherits a foreign welfare ward to replace its dead soldier.

This nation borrows from other nations, so that they may fund their economies and protect their military objectives, all on our dime and obligation.

This nation does not prosecute war to provide an intravenous transfusion of our national life force, to build another culture in the vain hope that it will grow to fit our own mold and at our own expense, no less.

Afghanistan should pay a service charge to America, for the American lives lost and the treasure America expended to prosecute this unwinnable war and rebuild infrastructure for our enemy, while our own economy went without.

Donald Trump understands that America should be the payee and NOT the payer in all matters of love and war. He also understands that one does not “soldier on,” when there is no profit potential in the form of national security and solvency.

If the United States has learned anything, it must be that our nation must be the one to choose and define the field of engagement—NOT the enemy.

We do not tell that enemy the precise hour when or if we will quit.

The only rationale for remaining in Afghanistan, is to garner the spoils of war, as the second phase of military operations.

That engagement cannot mean adoption and welfare for the alien culture. There can be no “amnesty” concept to win hearts and minds shaped only by tribal loyalty and the biding of time.

Rather than telegraphing the defeat of withdrawal timetables, the United States should be reaping the spoils of war as compensation and to fuel the war machine.

“It’s all about attitude” and the United States is no more obligated to budge, than say Red China is intent on exiting its occupation of Tibet.

The war cannot lend itself to a solution, when the nation fails to imagine how to make lemonade out of lemons.

It’s not the destination, nor is it the “roadmap” to peace, but the journey itself which defines the course of action.

The poor United States of America, which can no longer think for itself in an intelligent manner! What will this idiot government do when its first string players in the halls of government, are a bunch of bench warmers?

Afghanistan need only be pacified—NOT tamed.

Nations in defeat now imagine they will dictate the terms, as they see that we as a nation have failed to play our own game in the arena which boasts of destroying all invaders down through the centuries.

Unwinnable wars, by their very nature must not define our own national resolve when faced with them.

The question must not focus on what we have failed to accomplish in an impossible atmosphere, but rather what can best be done to make this war pay for itself.

We owe that to the American people and none other.

This war has been an Anopheles to plague the American people, who are now resolved to do a little pumping and sucking of their own—in the form of the natural mineral wealth of Afghanistan.

America should also be entirely managing the opium industry in Afghanistan for the benefit of American medicine and to control the bread and butter of the enemy.

The key which will crack this Trojan War is the flow of narcotics. That is where the will of the enemy to resist the occupier, becomes forfeit to an Achilles heel.

The blood of our soldiers demands a service charge from Afghanistan to be made to their bereaved families, not a promise to cut and run before the final reckoning.

I can’t tell you how many times that I’ve read blogs, from both ends of the spectrum, that talk about African-Americans as if they are a monolithic voting bloc that will ALWAYS vote Democrat. We’ve all seen the videos of African Americans thinking that Obama will pay their mortgages, or that they are going to get “Obama Money,” from his “stash.” Since these are well-publicized cases, they are influencing our perceptions about an entire group of people. So, the question is, is that all true?

And, if is it really that way, will it change? You see, I question both of those assumptions. While the voting issue is true, what is the basis for it? History tells us that that after the civil war, most African-Americans were Republicans, and the first African American Congressmen from the south belonged to the GOP. We also know that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican. It is also true that Democrats were responsible for the Jim Crow laws, and that the southern Democrats resisted the civil rights era legislation vehemently. So, that leaves us with something that bears examining; why did African Americans switch to voting over 90% Democrat in every election?

To answer this, I think we again need to go back into history, and see what happened in the 60’s. Let’s start with some quotes attributed to LBJ.

“These Negroes, they’re getting pretty uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference. For if we don’t move at all, then their allies will line up against us and there’ll be no way of stopping them, we’ll lose the filibuster and there’ll be no way of putting a brake on all sorts of wild legislation. It’ll be Reconstruction all over again.”

LBJ, Democratic President of the United States.

“I’ll have those n*ggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.”

Those two quotes from LBJ are rather telling. For me, they point to a deception of action, as well as a deception of intent. Clearly, LBJ was suggesting that he could win the African American vote by making some promises, and delivering little…”just enough.”.

Obviously, these two quotes have been floating around for a long time, and many are going to suggest that they were never said at all. But, let’s take a look at what has happened, and see if what LBJ said has come to pass. After all, people can say many things, but it’s their actions that show their true intent.

Let’s take a look at some examples…

Welfare and the breakdown of the family:

The various welfare programs of the 1960’s had a tremendous impact on the African American family. Not long after the creation of these programs, the rates of fatherless families began to rise. They have continued to rise for decades, and now, over 70% of African American children grow up without a father living in the home. That was not the case prior to welfare, and the programs have been identified as the cause for this. As well all know, children raised in fatherless homes are many times more likely to have lower educational achievement, use drugs, and engage in other criminal activities. However, what has been done to correct it? Has the intervention of the government really made it better…or worse?

Or, was it, “…we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”

Education:

It is also well know that the educational system has failed our children. We also know that minority children suffer even more.

As for graduation rates…

The national graduation rate for the class of 1998 was 71%. For white students the rate was 78%, while it was 56% for African-American students and 54% for Latino students.

And for illiteracy…

Graduation, Dropouts, and Preparedness

• African American high school students are notably falling behind their white counterparts in graduation rates, dropout rates, literacy rates, and college preparedness rates.
• In 2005, only 55 percent of all black students graduated from high school on time with a regular diploma, compared to 78 percent of whites.
• In 2005, the on-time graduation rate for black males was 48 percent nationally; for white males it was 74 percent.
• Nearly half of the nation’s African American students, but only 11 percent of white students, attend high schools in which graduation is not the norm.
• In 2002, 23 percent of all black students who started public high school left it prepared for college, compared to 40 percent of whites.
• On average, African American and Hispanic twelfth-grade students read at approximately the same level as white eighth graders.
• About half of poor, urban ninth graders read at only a fifth- or sixth-grade level.
• The National Assessment of Educational Progress reports that 88 percent of African American eighth graders read below grade level, compared to 62 percent of white eighth graders.

Now, we’ve seen successful alternatives, but “progressives” in the unions attack these, and when President Obama was elected, he shut down the DC waiver program, which greatly benefited mostly poor, African American kids.

Instead, the government makes many promises, and insists on spending more money on the same failed system. Essentially, they end up purchasing more failure.

Or, is it, “…we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”

Unemployment:

The U.S. Labor Department reported on Friday that unemployment for African Americans increased to 16.3% in August 2010 from 15.6% in July 2010.  The percentage point increase was greater than it was for Whites and Hispanics.  Overall unemployment climbed to 9.6% for the month of August from the July unemployment rate of 9.5%.

So, the unemployment rate is higher for African Americans as well. Of course, President Obama has promised to focus on this, but he has delivered nothing.

Or, is it, “…we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”

As you look at this, it is easy to conclude that not only has government action/programs made the situation worse, but they also seem intent on keeping it the same. I would hypothesize that there is a reason for this: If government can keep any group dependent, they can then extract support from that group. They create a circumstance in which a large segment of the population is keep poor and undereducated, effectively preventing that group from escaping poverty. Then, every election cycle, the Democrats come foreword and tell that group that the other party wants to kill them, jail them, and take away all of their benefits. By combining dependency, poverty, illiteracy, and hate, they can convince a group to vote for them every time.

In essence, I believe that the Democrats have intentionally acted in a way to “Cloward-Piven” a large segment of the African American community, by making them dependent on government assistance, and placing roadblocks for individuals in that community to be successful. After all, a person may want to succeed, but if they can’t get an education that provided even the most basic of skills, and they are penalized for any positive effort by a prohibitive loss of benefits, will that person eventually give up and not even try? And, what happens to that population of people after generations of the same? I think we can project the answer to that. As I suggested in the post, “Why Hope can Kill the Progressive Agenda,” people trapped in hopelessness for generations forget that there is any hope at all. In fact, we see the results of these policies on a tragically regular basis.

This is racist. Not the bed sheet wearing, ignorant redneck variety, but the soft racism of the nanny state and elites. Through all of this, I think the Democratic Party is just a racist as they always were. They simple present it differently (remember “calling it something else?”). They don’t believe that the African American can succeed, so they are content to “manage” him. Why provide good education if they can’t do well anyway? Why present opportunity and freedom when they don’t believe that the African American can use those to their own advantage? Just build housing, send in food stamps, and have horrifically inadequate schools, and leave them to poverty. Through the decades, it’s what they have done.

You know, “…we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”

So, I think the phrase “government plantation” is a completely accurate representation of the current relationship between our elitist government and the African American community. When you look at the totality of the problem, their actions show their true beliefs. In fact, the evidence becomes over whelming.

It seems like an insurmountable challenge, but I believe that there is incredible untapped human potential in the African American community. I say this because when good educational choices are available, African American children excel, just like any other group. Their scores rise to rival anyone’s, and all the negative outcomes start to decrease. So, it is safe to say that real education reform (ending government intrusion, union domination, and instituting real local control) would be the final nail in the coffin for the soft racist policies of the elitist left.

However, it wouldn’t end there. There are millions of people of all races that are caught in the poor education-poverty-crime-hopeless trap. To help them, or in some cases, encourage them, to escape, we’d also have to do a phase-down on the nanny state. Benefits would have to be restructured, yet again, to encourage success, and not penalize it. Caps and limits would need to be imposed to put an end to system-induced inter-generational dependency. That would be a difficult sell, but so worth it in the end.

The total effort would take nearly a generation to see tangible results, as it would take that long to begin reform, and educate a full generation of children. Once accomplished, however, the US would see a economic and cultural renaissance. As African-Americans, Hispanics, and other groups take their rightful place in our society, the US would be transformed. This would not be the “fundamental” government-forced change, but an organic one; based on ideas, innovations, merit, and creativity. Everyone would truly be able to advance to the limits of their own talents, skills, and persistence. We would cease to be a “hyphenated” society, as we would all be peers-truly equal in our opportunity, and respectful of the accomplishments of our fellow Americans.

Either we will kill the welfare state, or the welfare state will kill civilization.

If one wants to look into the future of America and the nations of Europe that have forsaken Madison’s republic for a socialist welfare state of Marx, then consider the current economic catastrophe in Greece where the youth, unions, pensioners and anarchists are violently protesting spending cuts government says are needed to pull that country out of national bankruptcy.

To demonstrate how acute the financial collapse of Greece is, Matthew Campbell, writing for the UK Times Online in Athens, noted: “It costs more to transport a sack of potatoes from northern Greece to Athens than from Athens to Dusseldorf, because haulage, like many other sectors of the Greek economy, is an impenetrable cartel.” Translation: Socialist union thugs are killing the free market in Greece.

The article opens with these ominous words:

May Day protests in Greece turned violent yesterday as youths in gas masks and hoods set fire to vehicles, smashed shop fronts and threw molotov cocktails and rocks at police in an explosion of fury over austerity measures they claim will hurt only the poor.

Tourists were cut off from their hotels as thousands of communists, civil servants and private-sector workers converged on a main square in Athens to vent their rage at the European Union and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“No to the IMF’s junta,” they chanted as a youth in a black hood produced a hammer to try to smash windows of the luxury Grande Bretagne Hotel.

Tragically, this apocalyptic narrative could be written about Phoenix, Ariz., Detroit, Chicago, New Jersey or New York, for these cities and dozens across this country are in revolution as America’s socialist welfare state under President Obama begins to collapse under the weight of its own immorality.

The great British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher had a wonderful saying regarding Marxism – “The problem with socialism is that eventually you’ll run out of other people’s money.” Greece has run out of other people’s money to the tune of $260-$300 billion.

The writer cites the story of a typical Greek pensioner:

Stefanos, 49, seems to embody the Greek good life. He retired as an army captain last year on a full pension and says he is quite happy planting his garden. He worries, though, about how to protect his savings from the crisis. “What about banks in Germany?” he asked friends around a dinner table in Athens.

Why in a sane society is any person under 50 years old retired? Retired from what?! If life expectancy is currently between 85 and 90 years, it is unsustainable for workers to pay the pensions of those who are fit to work yet because of Marxist presumptions demand that their neighbors be responsible for their retirement for some 40 more years. These kind of economic and social policies are totally outrageous and diametrical to the original intent of the constitutional framers, which was based on the biblical commandment, If a man doesn’t work, a man doesn’t eat.

Earlier this week Glenn Beck wrote on his ubiquitous blackboard a historical synopsis of European socialism he called, “Union and Revolutionary Plan”:

1. Socialize the government;
2. Unionize government jobs;
3. Over promise pensions – over spend;
4. Blame others for business/government cuts;
5. Protest cuts and taxes that affect unions;
6. Violence.

Beck’s prescient analysis on the unsustainability of socialism is a veritable six-step Marxist plan for national genocide, which is beginning to unfold in Europe – and, unless we kill the welfare state here in America, we will suffer the same fate as Greece, where in violent protests this week three people were killed at a major bank when union thugs set it on fire.

Instead of teachers instructing our students about Natural Law, American exceptionalism, liberty and the republic, for the past 100 years, since the advent of the Progressive Movement, our public schools have been turned into socialist propaganda factories where students are taught that America’s Founding Fathers were a ruthless gang of racists, fanatics, criminals and sexists hell-bent on killing the Native Americans and stealing their land.

The Times article continues with this grim assessment of Greece’s tragic experiment in socialism:

Economists regard the bloated civil service with its jobs for life and generous pensions as a cancer consuming the country’s resources. The older generation, the experts grimly concur, turned the state into a giant cash machine to be plundered at will.

In a free society based on individualism, freedom, the rule of law and market capitalism, people must be free to engage in private commerce, to take risks, to make fortunes, to lose fortunes, based on the decisions that each individual makes. The government has no business deciding which businesses are “too big to fail.” Crony capitalism is a perversion of market capitalism whereby the government protects its little fiefdoms (i.e., GM, Chrysler, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, AIG, Goldman Sachs, Wachovia), while allowing other companies that refuse to bow to the government’s fascist tactics to be destroyed (Lehman Brothers, Bear Sterns).

Chief Justice John Marshall was right when he wrote these profound words for the ages: “Indeed, in a free government all other rights would become worthless if the government possessed power over the private fortune of every citizen.”

Greece is the first casualty of socialism, while Spain, Italy and Portugal, nations that once ruled vast parts of the world just a few hundred years ago, will soon go begging to the globalist International Monetary Fund. Ironically, the U.S. will be largely bailing out Greece since America funds almost 20 percent of the IMF.

America must not become Greece. We must kill the welfare state before the welfare state kills us.

The great English statesman Sir Winston Churchill seemed to be speaking of the Greek tragedy of socialism when he wrote: “The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.”

As one reads the history of the Old Testament kings of Israel, particularly 1 and 2 Kings and 1 and 2 Chronicles, there is a diabolical refrain rooted in human nature that echoes through these pages … and through the Ages:

And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.

When studying the Kingdom Period of ancient Israel, I find many striking similarities with the history of America and how we failed to preserve our beloved republic – allowing it to be perverted by secularists, progressives and liberals and devolve into a pathetic, socialist welfare state.

God repeatedly had to judge Israel for being like the other pagan nations and falling into Baal worship. If Baal worship was the Trojan horse of ancient times that repeatedly caused Israel to fall into apostasy, then surely the welfare state is the killer of republics in modern times and will lead to the destruction of Europe and America.

Baal worship = State worship; Idolatry = Statolatry.

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1933-45) masterly exploited the national angst when the stock market collapsed in October 1929, which precipitated the Great Depression. FDR easily defeated then-President Herbert Hoover, a progressive Republican, and used existential tragedies as a pretext to make himself into a transformative president like Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln and his cousin, Theodore Roosevelt. FDR’s New Deal sought to deconstruct America from a moral-based republic grounded on biblical precepts of Natural Law into a European-style socialist welfare state based on envy, corruption, crony capitalism, racialism and what Leon Trotsky called “perpetual revolution.”

Are we witnessing the return of Karl Marx, or at least his anticapitalist ideology? Compare today’s developments with Marx’s classic, “Das Kapital”

Before FDR, the church and moral-based charitable organizations had helped the poor through voluntary Christian charity without state initiation or state control. FDR lusted after power above all else and took his cue from Chief Justice John Marshall’s aphorism: “The power to tax is the power to destroy.” Sensing a national mandate, FDR created a veritable alphabet soup of unprecedented entitlement programs and new bureaucracies designed to annihilate American exceptionalism and keep the Democrats in power into perpetuity.

Here are just a few of FDR’s New Deal programs:

• Works Progress Administration (WPA)
• National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
• Social Security Act (SSA)
• National Labor Relations Act (NLRA fixed unionism with the Democrat Party)
• Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)
• Agricultural Adjustment Administration (AAA)
• National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA)
• Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
• Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)

FDR knew that his New Deal was wholly unconstitutional; therefore, in 1937, he initiated his infamous Supreme Court Packing Plan. To make his New Deal programs pass constitutional muster, FDR threatened to pack the Court with six more justices hand-picked by him. Fearing a diminishment of their power, SCOTUS caved in, deemed FDR’s New Deal programs to be constitutional (“A switch in time saves 9″), and America has been paying for the sin of socialism to this day.

FDR beguiled us all and turned legalized thievery into art form under the Marxist guise of “redistribution of wealth,” fair-share egalitarianism and social justice. Under the National Socialism of Hitler’s Nazis, which existed concurrently with the administration of FDR, people would fondly remember: “At least he [Hitler] made the trains run on time” (a phrase also applied to Italy’s Mussolini). Likewise, decades after FDR’s New Deal, people would fondly recall, “Every man had a job.” True, but America made a Faustian deal with the devil to get jobs, to get cradle-to-grave welfare. FDR’s New Deal cost America our collective dignity, our freedom, our inalienable rights … our souls.

Ted Sonnier in a blog entry, “Why Jefferson was right,” said: “The money that people earn ‘fair and square’ is taken from them unfairly. This is the problem inherent [in] welfare programs. It is also the first chip out of the foundation of the republic. The next chip is the dependency on bigger and bigger government and the mindset that only the government can fix problems that come with this federal assistance, leading to even larger, overbearing and inefficient government interference and the steady loss of liberty.”

Indeed, because America didn’t learn her lesson from the evils of the welfare state under FDR and LBJ, a certified socialist like Barack Obama was elected president of the United States. Consequently Obama openly refers to his administration as “FDR, part II.”

America’s solution? Just like God had to purge Baal worship from ancient Israel and Judah by pain, war, societal chaos and ultimately by Assyrian captivity (722 B.C.) and Babylonian captivity (586 B.C.), so must America must purge FDR’s diabolical New Deal and welfare-state policies by returning to our founding principles rooted in God, federalism, Natural Law, biblical theism, constitutionalism, liberty and Veritas (truth).

Jefferson, like the great prophets of antiquity, foretold the treason this generation would grapple with when he stated: The republic will cease to exist when Government takes from those who are industrious [workers] and gives to those who refuse to work [leeches]. A recent poll confirmed this fact in that 47 percent of Americans don’t pay any federal income tax.

All of President Obama’s policies, like those of FDR, seek to destroy America from within as a pretext to comprehensively remake the republic into a servile, Marxist welfare state.

The welfare state cannot be “reformed,” but every aspect of it must be identified, rooted out and systematically destroyed. All congressional legislation and policy objectives by the Republicans from hence forth must amount to the deconstruction of the liberal welfare state. If we achieve this feat, then over time the Democratic Party will concurrently be destroyed and deservedly transformed into the Whig Party of the 21st century.

I wish British intellectual George McDonald was referring to the welfare state when he eloquently intoned, Out Satan must go, every hair and feather!

Back around the beginning of the year I took a little trip to my local Walmart to buy a few things for my new apartment. Now usually I try to avoid Walmart because it makes me a little sick to send money to the Chinese for things that we used to make here in America. The constant stream of dangerous product revelations like cadmium coated play jewelry for children, lead tainted dishes and christmas lights, and exploding faux Chinese Pyrex has only served to increase my disdain for the Great Wall of China. Yet there I was buying a few cheap things for my household, just like everybody else.

Ready to check out I scanned the aisles looking for my best bet. My criteria has gotten more detailed over the years and I no longer just go for the shortest line as my experience is that you are better off going for an alert intelligent white cash register clerk. You have a better chance of being dealt with honestly and competently.  I also try to avoid people with tons of stuff or who appear to be “slow minded”.

Living in the South I have to deal with a lot of black check out people and rarely do I find one who is either competent or pleasant. The usual is a sullen young black woman who doesn’t make eye contact or acknowledge any friendly greeting on your part. She makes sure that you understand she is doing you a favor to check you out and that she doesn’t like white people.  Which is OK with me usually as I am growing to feel the same way about black people or at least those blacks who seem hostile to me and  would rather not talk to them if given a choice.   If you are at the Atlanta airport or a Braves game you will be fortunate if you aren’t cheated on your change.

Anyway I decided on getting in the line worked by a young white woman who seemed energetic and friendly. There was only one person in front of me and my instincts told me to find another line but I told myself to not prejudge people, this line was the shortest and the clerk seemed to be good to go.

What gave me pause? The one person in front of me was a black woman who had a very full cart and seemed a little different in dress and bearing. I looked at the other lines and all of them had at least three people ahead of me so I stayed where I was despite my gut feeling. Sure enough the black woman in front of me was some kind of foreigner and seemed to not speak or understand English.

Now the thing most sure to waste your time besides a black clerk is a black customer in front of you. Their transactions often seem to take longer and require more communication with the store clerk. Sure enough the molasses like slow drip inefficiency began immediately. You see this was a not a simple transaction as part of the woman’s “purchases” would be paid for with a WIC (women, infants and children) voucher and the remaining items would be paid for with cash. The clerk energetically started to assist the woman in dividing the goods in the cart into two piles. I looked over longingly at the other lines but they were still longer and several people were already in line behind me partially trapping me in place.

The woman grunted out something unintelligible and pulled out a roll of cash bound by a rubber band.  Stripping a few $20s off the top she paid the clerk for the first part of her purchase.  So far so good, despite the extra time of dividing up the items things were going pretty smoothly thanks to the white clerk who was clearly going beyond the norm for being pleasant and helpful.   No doubt she thought it was her Christian duty to help out the less fortunate and welcome the foreigner.   The clerk scanned a few items and then everything started to fall apart.   It was the cheese that did it of course.

You see the slices of American cheese were individually wrapped.   Somewhere sometime back in the dawn of Georgia’s social welfare system one of our governments infinitely wise and compassionate bureaucrats decided that sliced cheese was good for women, infants and children but that individually wrapped slices of cheese was too much of an extravagance for those reliant on the tax funded assistance of the government.   Had I but known what an odyssey of irritating good intentioned idiocy was going to be inflicted on me I might well have forked over a fiver and saved myself a good bit of annoyance and your time and effort in reading this rant.

You see for once my pre-screen for an energetic and helpful seeming check out clerk blew up in my face.  After fruitlessly attempting to communicate to the African (or Caribbean?  who knows?) woman about the government’s problem with wrapped cheese slices, the clerk decided to take matters into her own capable hands.   She took the package of wrapped cheese slices away and headed to the dairy section to remedy the mistake because she  new…exactly…which…cheese…the…government…would…pay…for.   All of that was sort of shouted over her shoulder as the clerk abandoned the register.

I was speechless and looking behind me I was now really trapped as my position in the check out aisle made it impossible to even switch lines.  All of the other people who had been in other lines three and four deep when I first came to the check out were long gone.  There were a lot more people in all the check out lines now and there were at least seven people behind me.  The clerk was gone…a…long…time.  Finally she came back slightly out of breath but happy to have been of assistance…until she attempted to scan the “correct” WIC cheese.  It wouldn’t scan and for the first time the clerk seemed a bit flustered.   The crowd in line behind me was still waiting patiently but the mood was starting to turn a bit.

Instead of just telling the woman customer that she would have to go without the cheese this time the clerk doubled down in her determination to be… the most…helpful…clerk…ever.   She left the register again with the incorrect but unwrapped block of sliced cheese and went in search of her manager.   I was amazed that she thought it was ok to inconvenience the entire crowd of paying customers trapped behind me to help this foreigner who had not spoken a word of thanks and who seemed completely indifferent and unaware of what was going on in an attempt to better help her take full advantage of the WIC program.

While the clerk conferred frantically with her clearly bored and uninterested “manager” I took a bit of time to reflect on the situation that I was in and how it had come about.   You see I had already waited in line behind just one person for over twenty minutes and the end was still not in sight.  I wondered how many times similar events play out each day and how much lost productivity occurred in similar molasses events around America each day.  I wondered where the foreign woman came from and how she found her way to Athens Georgia.   I wondered why the American taxpayer was being forced to borrow money from the Chinese who already have most of our manufacturing jobs just to pay in to an endless stream of low skill non-white immigrants.  I wondered who had helped this woman come to our country and why?  I could not understand of what benefit other than breeding future Democratic voters she could possibly have for our country.

Finally the clerk gave up and came back to finish scanning the woman’s other WIC items.  The end seemed near until the final tally was done and the woman presented not one but two WIC vouchers…with two different names.   The clerk, efficient to the last, looked hard but rapidly at both vouchers and explained to the woman that she could not by law accept WIC vouchers with different names from one customer on one transaction.   Once more the “purchase” had to be divided so that one WIC voucher would cover the whole purchase.  I wondered which name was chosen as the correct identity.   The black foreign woman never said a comprehensible word in English or any other language.  She was also standing mute and I guess happy to get whatever free benefit that she could.

I never said anything ugly or aggressive but I did occasionally look at the woman and the clerk with that blank incomprehensible and unapologetic stare that I have learned from blacks.  Who says we can’t learn from each other?  I wondered how a woman who couldn’t speak our language or at least pretended she couldn’t speak it could have managed to get not only one but two different WIC vouchers.   Once again I wondered who facilitated all this robbing of the taxpayer.  I considered demanding that the event be reported to the welfare people but I know that this type of abuse is common and not of interest to the type of social worker whose politics and rice bowl all depend on the transfer of wealth from taxpayers to tax consumers.  It would be just an exercise in futility.

The foreign black welfare cheat finally shoved off and it was my time to check out.  I glanced behind me as my own items finally started to be checked out and saw other customers standing patiently and quietly but I also saw a number of people who had the same hard eyed look that I imagine was found in my own eyes.  In the end it took me about 45 minutes to get through that check out line to buy about six items.   As I left I notice the block of cheese and several other perishable items still sitting by the cash register going bad,  I was glad I didn’t have to buy them after they were restocked.   I have only been back to that store once in the past two months since that event.

Later I thought that this incident, though trivial on one level, at another was a perfect metaphor for modern America.  Whites like me, still a majority, stand silently aware that we are being screwed but are at a loss as what to do.  We know that  we are being racially and culturally displaced but we know that if we speak out it is us that will “get banned from Walmart” and harassed by the police.  We are expected to just stand mute and pay our taxes.   Nothing short of a complete break down in the government will change this madness that we are all forced to support and accept.

What is going on is a cultural genocide being conducted against white Americans and to add insult to injury we are being forced to pay for it while our children are being brainwashed by the government schools, corporate advertisement propaganda, and entertainment media to believe that we somehow owe our own dissolution to the world as atonement for past sins.   Yet who will pay for this welfare to the world when we have been driven out of existence?  Clearly there are those who would rather we all sink into the mud than to have any stand above it and we will sink as it is impossible to have both a modern socialist welfare state and allow unlimited legal and illegal immigration of millions of low skill non-white third world people.  It can’t be sustained and it will fall apart.  The only question is will there be enough Americans left to remake America when it does?

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it.

We have all heard about how crazy liberals are. Conservative intellectual and radio host Michael Savage even wrote a book about this phenomenon, his 2005 New York Times best-seller, “Liberalism is a Mental Disorder.” Likewise, in 2008, Dr. Lyle H. Rossiter Jr., M.D., wrote in his best-seller, “The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness,” the following:

The roots of liberalism – and its associated madness – can be clearly identified by understanding how children develop from infancy to adulthood and how distorted development produces the irrational beliefs of the liberal mind.

Liberals are liberals first. Am I being polemical? Yes, to a degree, but I am not being personal. I’m not contending that all liberals are crazy, but I will say, along with Dr. Savage and Dr. Rossiter, that a logical, legal and medical case can be made that liberalism (i.e., socialism, progressivism, egalitarianism) is not a rational political belief system.

On this point, last Friday, President Obama chided Republican leaders for being stupid enough to listen to conservative stalwart Rush Limbaugh. Obama said, “You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done.” With a hushed silence over the room, the messiah went further saying, “If we don’t get this done we (the Democrats) could lose seats and I could lose re-election. But we can’t let people like Rush Limbaugh stall this. That’s how things don’t get done in this town.”

Rush was clicking on all cylinders over the weekend when he remarked about Obama’s criticism of him in this manner:

Obama’s plan would buy votes for the Democrat Party in the same way FDR’s New Deal established majority power for 50 years of Democrat rule, and it would also simultaneously seriously damage any hope of future tax cuts. … Put simply, I believe [economic] stimulus is aimed at re-establishing “eternal” power for the Democrat Party rather than stimulating the economy, because anyone with a brain knows this is NOT how you stimulate the economy.

When President Obama promised America “FDR, part II,” few of the political pundits took notice because ideologically they are elitists, liberals and socialists like Obama. The propaganda press, the professors of the academy, judges, the Democrats and most Republicans all have fallen prey to the siren song of socialism and leviathan government taking over more and more of private enterprise. Wall Street, the investment banks, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, the home mortgage industry, the auto industry, states like California, Arizona and Michigan on the verge of bankruptcy, even the porn industry, is just the beginning. They all want “bailouts” i.e., “welfare,” i.e., unearned, undeserved, unconstitutional confiscation of money belonging to “We the People” and given to others who didn’t earn it and don’t deserve it to secure Democrat Party votes in perpetuity. It’s legalized thievery. It is Mafia tactics on a grand scale.

What the GOP seems oblivious to knowing and what I am trying to teach my students at Savannah State University is politics through a historical lens. That means we study politics (or any other subject for that matter) through the lens and judgment of history and through the non-partisan philosophy of Veritas – truth. All else is irrelevant propaganda.

That said, history has definitively demonstrated that since President Theodore Roosevelt, liberals (or “progressives,” which was what socialists and liberals were called 100 years ago) made policy proposals not with the intent of solving real social, economic, education, legal, race, class, gender problems, but to solidify their power over the people forever. Just look at some of the political philosophy, policy and legislation passed by presidential executive order or by illegal collusion with Congress over the past 100 years:

• Theodore Roosevelt (1901-09) – the first true “progressive” president, though a Republican, invented the “imperial presidency” and used the “bully pulpit” and his “Fair Deal” policies to concoct all sorts of policies and programs that had no correlation with free-market capitalism (i.e., “trust busting”) or respect for private property. (Roosevelt set aside more land for national parks and nature preserves than all of his predecessors combined, 194 million acres.)
• Woodrow Wilson (1913-21) – Jonah Goldberg, in his important book, “Liberal Fascism,” quoted this president: “True leaders” uses the masses like “tools”; “All progressives ask or desire is permission – in an era when ‘development,’ ‘evolution,’ is the scientific word – to interpret the Constitution according to the Darwinian principle.”
• Franklin Delano Roosevelt [FDR] (1933-45) – Used the stock market crash of October 1929 and the Great Depression as a pretext to enact his “New Deal” to grow the government in gargantuan proportions over the people and to use the socialist welfare state as the “power to wage a war against the emergency, as great as the power that would be given to me if we were in fact invaded by a foreign foe. …”
• Lyndon B. Johnson [LBJ] (1963-69) – “The Great Society” or “War against Poverty” programs including AFDC, Food Stamp Act, Medicare, Medicaid; greatly expanded FDR’s welfare state to connect every conceivable aspect of the American citizen to the tentacles of leviathan government. (Remember LBJ was a protégé of FDR.)
• Richard Nixon (1969-74) – Although a “Republican,” Nixon gave America socialist wage and price controls, the Environmental Protection Agency and affirmative action. He also gave us two unremarkable liberal justices on the Supreme Court: Chief Justice Warren Burger and Harry Blackmun. Blackmun authored the Roe v. Wade decision in 1972, arguably (after Dred Scott v. Sanford [1854] upholding slavery) the most murderous, infamous decision in the history of American constitutional law.
• George W. Bush (2001-09) – singlehandedly deconstructed the Reagan Revolution by his bungling, incoherent, incompetent domestic policies (amnesty for illegal aliens, No Child Left Behind), foreign policy (the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan) and reinstituting a Bob Michaelesque GOP irrelevance that will probably mimic the wilderness years of 1954-94.
• Barack Obama (2009- ) – His first call as president was to Mahmoud Abbas, Yasser Arafat’s protégé and the leader of the “former” Palestinian terrorist group Fatah. His first public interview as president was with the Dubai-based Al-Arabiya. Obama’s first executive order was to limit lobbyist influence in Washington, D.C., while at the same time granting Deputy Secretary of Defense William Lynn an exemption because Lynn was a lobbyist for the defense contractor Raytheon. Other early policies that seem critical to Obama’s legacy and the Democrat majority in Congress can be summarized in three words – abortion, abortion and abortion.

Rush Limbaugh was right – “liberals are liberals first.” Liberal Democrats create policies not to solve problems, but to win elections and make more and more people dependent on the government welfare programs they provide. Since FDR, liberals have used every Machiavellian tactic to create a Leninist groupthink mentality; a slavish and addictive dependence on government that Democrats hope will keep them in power in perpetuity. This is what Rush meant he said, “Obama’s plan would buy votes for the Democrat Party in the same way FDR’s New Deal established majority power for 50 years of Democrat rule.”

When I see the GOP sitting politely with President Obama before the cameras – neutered, compliant and irrelevant – I start shouting at my TV set: “WHERE ARE THE REAL MEN IN THE GOP!?” Then Rush helped me to remember: Don’t think Obama, think Saul Alinsky, Obama’s community organizer mentor, who said in Rule 13 of Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” – “Pick the target [Rush Limbaugh, the conservative base], freeze it, personalize it and polarize it.” This is what President Obama masterfully executed at last Friday’s press conference with the GOP.

Why don’t the Republicans understand that they are playing checkers while Obama and the Democrats are playing chess? The GOP is trying to win an election in the next two years, and the Democrats are using Machiavellian tactics to win elections for the next 40 years. Perhaps that’s why the GOP doesn’t stand for the “Grand Old Party” anymore. The more appropriate acronym is “GIP” … the “Grand Irrelevant Party.”
