The media feed this in order to keep readers reading and viewers viewing. The history of American elections has always been one of vituperation between the parties, so there is nothing new about this. Indeed, since so much depends on it, the political free-for-all is a healthy exercise.

It can, however, make for a difficult environment in which to go about one’s life; the air filled with charge and counter-charge, polls going up and down, and a general sense that something is very wrong with the way the government functions.

On the bright side, a gridlocked Congress may bring a measure of relief to everyone. Writing about gridlock in January 2011, Marcus E. Ethridge, a professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin, noted that “By fostering gridlock, the U.S. Constitution increases the likelihood that policies will reflect broad, unorganized interests instead of the interests of narrow, organized groups.” In 2011, we saw what happens when advocates of “renewable energy”, wind and solar power, or electric cars, get priority over the needs of most Americans for reliable energy and transportation.

At the heart of the 2012 election will be the recognition that the economy is still not recovering, that government is seeking to extend and expand its control over our lives, and, even among former supporters of Barack Obama, that he has been a failure of historic proportions.

A Friday Rasmussen Reports said that “Voters right now give the edge to Republicans when asked which political party is likely to win the White House and control both the House of Representatives and the Senate in next November’s election”, adding that “a lot of voters are undecided.” Those voters may actually wait until entering the polls to cast their vote.

Another bad piece of news for President Obama is a new comparative analysis of current voter registration data in key electoral states of Nevada and North Carolina. According to the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, there has been “a drastic drop from 2008 levels when a record-high proportion of young Americans turned out overwhelmingly to cast their votes to elect Barack Obama as President.” This is significant because more than two-thirds of young voters supported the Obama/Biden ticket in 2008.

The President had a low moment following the passage of Obamacare that transformed itself into the Tea Party movement and an even worse one in 2010 when it propelled a large number of Republicans into the House of Representatives, causing its control to change hands. He has had, in fact, only one truly high moment and that occurred when he announced the killing of Osama bin Laden in May 2011. At the time, he typically took complete credit. In a speech at Fort Bragg to returning troops from Iraq, the word “victory” was never spoken.

Americans are not unmindful that the downgrade of the rating of the nation’s sovereign debt, the first in the nation’s history, was announced on Obama’s watch. The rate of “official” unemployment has receded to 8.6% but most Americans are well aware that it is far closer to 11% or more. America continues to experience that longest period of long-term unemployment since the 1930s.

For these and a myriad of other reasons, there is little reason to conclude that President Obama has any chance whatever of being reelected. The widespread contempt for Congress is also a hopeful sign for change. These are reasons to remain calm amidst the din of electioneering in the months ahead.

There is, however, all manner of troubles brewing in the world. Europe will have to find a solution to what will happen if its southern tier of nations elects to default on their sovereign debt. Cracks in the European Union are evident. If it falls apart, it will be very messy, but Europe existed before the EU and would if it disbands.

The Middle East is in the midst of a huge struggle between its fanatical Muslim faction and a population unhappy enough with former dictators to have forced out several in 2011 with the prospect that Syria’s Bashar Assad will fall in 2012.

Iran remains the wild card and its nuclear dreams will likely end with a well-timed and well-executed attack by Israel. Israel saved the world from a nuclear Iraq in 1981 and a nuclear Syria in 2007. An attack on Iranian nuclear and military facilities could trigger an internal movement to overthrow the mullahs.

There are other wild cards in the Middle East. The Palestinians show no indication of giving up their dream of destroying Israel. That will not happen. Without Iranian support, both Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza will be set adrift. Muslim atrocities in nations such as Nigeria where Christian churches were bombed on Christmas Day will contribute to a growing movement against Islamic terrorism. It will not happen overnight, but it will happen.

Even the Russians show signs of tiring of their post-Soviet ruling class led by Vladimir Putin.

America faces a long period of restructuring the socialist programs that began in the 1930s and reached their peak in the 1960s. Should the GOP gain control of Congress and Obama is defeated, real change will occur.

Two other factors signal better times ahead. They are the failure of the global warming hoax and the disdain the “Occupy” movement engendered.

In 2012 Americans will take steps to end the scandals and deprecations of the Obama administration.

We shall ignore the anticipated shouts of racism.

We shall see the Supreme Court disembowel Obamacare or set in motion its repeal by a GOP controlled Congress.

We will select a President and a Congress to put things right.

Consequently, when I started my political consulting firm I wanted to be true to my mistaken convictions, so I only worked for Democrat clients.

[Note: Now that I’m a Republican who has seen the error of my ways, I often find myself trying to rationalize my membership in the party of debt, dependency and degeneracy by telling people I was a “conservative Democrat.” This is not all that uncommon among those of us who have seen the light and puts me in some pretty august company.

Recently I was watching a rerun of ‘Booknotes’ with Gertrude Himmelfarb — now a respected historian and neo–conservative, but in her youth a Trotskyite, which — for those of you suffering from recent history instruction in public schools — is a variety of Communist. When asked how she made the ideological journey from Trotsky to Reagan, it warmed my heart when explained that she was always a pretty conservative Trotskyite.]

In 1990 I found myself working as media consultant for Tom McRae who was Bill Clinton’s last gubernatorial primary opponent in Arkansas.

At that time Clinton was eight to ten years into his affair with Gennifer Flowers, had played jack–in–the–box with Paula Jones, reportedly used the state troopers to ferry women and was generally known as someone you wouldn’t leave unsupervised with your college–age daughter.

Yet our TV spots featured none of this lurid material for the simple reason that, regardless of the truth, the rumors were old news to voters and reporters. Clinton had been re–elected previously when Flowers was just starting to bloom. The fact that she had now taken root, along with a complete inventory of other women, was simply not a factor as he sought his fifth term.

Instead, our spots were built around “It’s time for a change” and highlighted the fact Clinton was just going through the motions while preparing to run for president. Our woefully underfunded campaign held Clinton to a meager 54 percent.

Two years later Clinton was in for a rude surprise during the New Hampshire Presidential Primary. Rumors he thought dead and buried arose in the form of tapes secretly recorded by Flowers and played for the news media.

Why was his old squeeze from the Ozarks suddenly relevant? Simple, Clinton changed the scope of his campaigning, from statewide candidate in Arkansas to nationwide candidate and new voters were unaware of his randy streak. These voters were encountering information that he thought was safely behind him and Clinton was caught unprepared. Overcoming the shock required a comprehensive campaign of lies to a gullible news media that just barely saved his campaign.

The same phenomenon is being repeated today — minus the lies and the lingerie.

Texas Governor Rick Perry is encountering past issues he previously overcame. If Perry had been content to stay in Texas and run for governor, US Senator or Congress the forced HPV vaccinations for schoolgirls and in–state college tuition for children of illegal aliens would have been non–issues.

This is because winning an election, similar to baptism, washes one clean of all past political sins. Where Christian baptism differs from elections is Christ doesn’t care about geography. You’re just as clean in Austin as you are in Arlington. But in politics absolution doesn’t travel across the border.

In Florida and elsewhere conservative Republicans are appalled at Perry’s executive decision to require schoolgirls to be vaccinated for a disease that comes through sexual activity and his signature on a law that grants in–state college tuition to the children of illegal aliens.

Perry appears to be appalled that voters have found out.

His debate answers are awkward and off–message for Republicans. He says his decision with regard to HPV vaccinations was wrong and he would not do it again. So far so good, but then he rationalizes by saying it would save lives. So would requiring every citizen of Texas to wear a ballistic vest when leaving the house, but it would not be a conservative policy.

His most recent answer to the tuition controversy only served to drive his poll numbers down. Telling opponents of granting special privileges to children of illegals that they “don’t…have a heart” is simply stupid. Democrats are the land of “follow your feelings,” Republicans prefer to follow the rule of law.

If Perry’s answers don’t improve his campaign will be the second bubble to burst, following that of Rep. Michelle Bachmann. But either way, he serves as an instructive lesson for politicians who are looking to expand their political horizons in the future.

New Congress To Do List

Tuesday (Nov. 2) voters placed the House of Representatives under new management and put the fear of God into what remains, temporarily, a Democrat Senate. Now it’s time for a resuscitated GOP to deliver.

But before the Republicans get to work, they need to — as we say here in the South — get their mind right and understand what actually happened.

At first glance the pickup of 60 House seats (as this is written) looks like an overwhelming endorsement of the GOP, since it tops the total of seats captured in the anti–Clinton wave of 1994.

Appearances are deceiving in this case. Just prior to Tuesday’s election a poll of voters who favored a Republican–controlled House was released.

A total of 48 percent of those voters viewed their choice as a positive vote for Republicans, but 45 percent said their vote was not a vote for the GOP, but rather a negative vote against Obama and the Democrats. It should be glaringly obvious to House leaders that a party unable generate a majority of supporters among its own voters, is a party that is on probation.

Tuesday’s result was not a Republican victory, it was a conservative victory and Republicans just happened to be the least worst choice available.

A divided legislative branch, combined with internal and external obstacles, makes pleasing this coalition of the grumpy very difficult. If Republican leadership in the House stays the same, temporizers and “realists” may dilute this conservative triumph by chasing “bi–partisanship” — a political unicorn that is a favorite of the mainstream media because it only serves to make Republicans govern more like Democrats.

Voters in 2008 bought into “Change” and they got it, as H. L. Mencken used to say, good and hard. Suffering a bad case of buyer’s remorse, 2010 voters charged into the Returns department and demanded an exchange. If they don’t get it, chances are TEA party voters will take their business elsewhere in the form of a third party and Republicans will be finished.

Oh, the party per se will still exist. GOP politicians will continue to go on K–Street fact–finding missions to Hawaii, but the days of control will be over. The departure of the TEA party voters and other independents will split the conservative vote and return leftist Dems to power.

The external obstacle is Obama and how he responds to this electoral rebuke. Obama could respond like Bill Clinton did in 1994 and govern from the center of the political spectrum — adopting some GOP ideas and some Democrat ideas. More likely he will attempt to become a Hyde Park Harry Truman and run against a “do nothing” Congress that is thwarting his goal of a better America.

If the story of the next Congress is focused on what Obama is doing under trying circumstances then Republicans have already lost. Instead the story must be House Republicans are attempting to change the course of the nation and how Obama is blocking the people’s will.

So what should victorious House Republicans do? Combine symbolism with legislation. Bills in the House are numbered according to when they are introduced. GOP leadership should reserve the first 10 bills for legislation that responds to the conservative uprising.

House Bill 1 should be the repeal of Obamacare. There will be great opposition to this bill and the media will pressure Republicans to “reach across the aisle” and work with Democrats. But a majority of the public wants Obamacare repealed and government reduced, not expanded. Obamacare repeal should be a litmus test for conservative voters. If the House GOP leadership craters here, conservatives have been betrayed.

House Bill 2 should be the extension of the Bush tax cuts (assuming the lame duck session of Congress does not approve this) and so forth. Work fast and send these bills to the Democrat–controlled Senate at lightening speed.

Then Obama and his Democrat henchmen are in the position of responding to positive Republican initiatives. There may even be enough frightened Democrat Senators to pass the tax cuts, which will then go to the White House for a probable Obama veto.

The goal of the GOP leadership should be to turn Obama from Mr. Hope into Dr. Nope who is leading a cabal of obstructionist Democrats. Then in 2012 voters can finish the job by defeating Obama and electing more conservative senators.

Of course by working to transform Obama into an oval office Dr. No I realize we run the risk of reinforcing the 18 percent of the populace who believe the president is a Muslim, with a new group who will believe he is an evil Chinese mastermind who wants to kill 007.

But it’s a risk worth taking.

“Restraining Order” Served on Obama Regime By The American People

Republicans won control of the House and cut deeply into the Democrats’ majority in the Senate in yesterday’s election. The House speaker to be, John Boehner is reported to have said The election results were “a repudiation of Washington, a repudiation of big government, and a repudiation of politicians who refuse to listen to the people.” “Speaker” Boehner was spot-on!

Last night saw the largest turnover of seats in the US House since the 1940’s. Republicans captured at least 65 seats in the US House with some races still not decided and at least a few of those are expected to go over to the Republicans.

It was an historic event. Over in the US Senate, the GOP picked up at least six seats with a number still undecided.

The results of this election will be spun and re-spun by the democrats, but the fact is, it was a slap down of the Obama Regime and it’s socialist agenda.

Here, in North Carolina, voters cleaned the House and the Senate! Now republicans control BOTH houses of the NC State General Assembly. It is the first time since 1898 (get that?) — 1898 – that republicans have controlled the NC Senate. North Carolina’s democrats received a “Cease and desist” order from Tar Heel voters.

All across the country, except for two or three deep blue states, the story was much the same.
It was the expected tsunami. It crashed upon the shores of Washington, DC resoundingly. Nationwide voters demonstrated their displeasure with the liberal-socialist democrats and handed control of the People’s House, the House of Representatives to the republicans — just four years after the same voters had taken it away. This time the republicans will have a solid majority in the House — one that can produce laws and polices that will be on the books for many years to come.

Out in California, one of those “deep blue” states, Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown returns to the governor’s mansion. That was no surprise and practically everyone understands now that California is a socialist state and hopelessly lost to the remainder of America.

Most Americans understand what is about to happen with California. One of two things must happen. Either America cuts California loose by revoking its statehood, or the American taxpayer must anti-up and pay off California’s bills, which they ran up through their own stupidity. Somehow, the latter just tends to tick me off.

If we bail California out, they will never learn their lesson and will, like the children they behave as, continue making those same dumb, infantile, mistakes over as the American taxpayer underwrites their idiocy.

And what of the Tea Party? It proved, last night, it is a force to be reckoned with. It solidified its position as the viable Third, or even second party, which now hangs as Damocles’ Sword over the heads of the republican and democratic parties. That, in my estimation, is a GOOD thing!

The Tea Party put the lie to the Mainstream Media’s claims that tea partiers were mean, and violent and mad as hell, etc., etc. Just as we knew — NONE of that was anywhere near the truth — except for the “mad as hell” part!

J. P. Freire of the Washington Examiner said this: “Violent movements do not do these things. They don’t show up at the polls and overwhelm the establishment in favor of a minority candidate, as in the case of Sen.-elect Marco Rubio, R-Fla. They also don’t lose so badly, as in the case of Christine O’Donnell. They don’t take on, and nearly defeat, the leader of the majority party in the Senate, at the same time as he colludes with casinos in a potentially illegal scheme to get out the vote in his favor. They don’t settle for a more liberal candidate in Illinois just because he’s the most electable.

Yet they did all of those things. Strange.” (SOURCE)

The Tea Party understands, perhaps better than most, the danger facing America and they understand that America’s salvation as a free country is the founding document, the US Constitution and underlying everything they do is the demand that the US government follow the constitution. And for that they are called “wackos!”

We Americans have much work to do in the months ahead. One of the most important jobs facing us as a nation, as a free people, is to relieve ourselves of the millstone around our necks called OBAMA! We must begin, today, to lay the foundation for removing Obama from the Oval Office in 2012.

In the meantime, hold the feet of the republicans to the fire and SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TEA PARTY!

Progressive States Network: Distorting the Electoral Process?

In my first post on the Progressive States Network, I went over their Board of Directors, and showed that they are a far-left, if not quasi-Marxist organization. In coordination with John, owner of The Current, who wrote about the National Popular Vote, I’m going to address some of the PSN’s election initiatives.

First up, is Vote by Mail. Here are some details from their own website:

Vote by Mail: Vote by Mail is now an option in five states (California, Colorado, Montana, Hawaii, and New Jersey) and has been increasingly popular with voters. California and Colorado have seen the greatest usage with almost a third of California voters voting by mail in November 2008, and an astounding 71% of Colorado voters doing so. Key arguments in favor include:

Vote by Mail Helps Increase Turnout: For many voters going to the polling place on election day is difficult, either for work or family reasons. Vote by Mail is the obvious, low-cost solution for giving such voters the flexibility they need to participate in our elections. Allowing voters the option to vote by mail for every election gives them a flexible path to the ballot box, without which they might not participate.

Vote by Mail Gives Voters a Choice: In the 21st century, we have the ability to give all voters a choice in how they cast their ballots. There are many voters who can make it to the polls, but who prefer to vote by mail either for convenience or because they like having time to fill out their ballots in the comfort of their home. However, under current practice in some states the mail ballot option requires voters to have one of a few narrow reasons (an “excuse”) for not voting at the polls; and in all but five states, voters must reapply for a mail ballot every election.

Vote by Mail Reduces Election Day Chaos and Costs: Vote by mail also helps make sure that no one is prevented from voting on election day by long lines. Colorado residents reaped this benefit in the last presidential election with a smooth election that contrasted sharply with the previous election without vote by mail. In that election some Denver voters waited in lines that lasted half a day or more.

They put a very nice wrapper around this idea. It does sound very nice, doesn’t it? However, as I have looked at the PSN, it became obvious that one has to look at what they DON’T say. In this scenario, they discuss nothing of preventing fraud, or how the integrity of the vote will be maintained.

For example, we know that the organizations formerly know as ACORN, and similar groups, sign up thousands of fake voters with every registration drive. This is still happening, as it recently was recently exposed in Houston. If there are fake registrations, might there be fake mail in ballots with return addresses being vacant lots, or places that are not residences? Now, a supporter of this will probably say that these can be checked. However, this is the same Cloward-Piven that was ACORN’s voter registration fraud. The idea is to overwhelm the system with false registrations, making it impossible to verify them all. With untold thousands of ballots being cast by mail, there could be no possibly way to verify all of them. I think that the results are predictable. In my opinion, this is a means to facilitate fraud.

The PSN also supports the National Popular Vote:

National Popular Vote: NPV garners the support of greater than two-thirds of voters in the 30+ states where it has been polled. The bill has now passed in five states (Maryland, New Jersey, Hawaii, Illinois and, most recently, Washington) with a total of 61 electoral votes, almost a quarter of the total needed for NPV to go into effect. Voters typically support NPV at about 75%, including healthy majorities of Republican voters. Polls in individual states show consistent support as well, with voters supporting it in a range from 68% to 81%. The following messages help address some of the myths and misunderstandings about the consequences of NPV:

The Winner Should Win: Emphasize the primary reasons why NPV has such broad support – because every vote should count equally, and the candidate with the most votes should win the election. These are the principles that we respect for our local, state and congressional elections and they should hold for the Presidential election as well.

Making Every State a Battleground State Will Increase Turnout: Average turnout in the 15 most competitive Presidential states was 6% higher than in the rest of the states for the 2008 general election, so NPV will help expand turnout.

NPV is a Civil Rights Issue: Civil rights has drifted out of the national dialogue as the battlegrounds have shifted away from states with high percentages of minority voters. For example, just 21% of African Americans and 18% of Latinos live in the twelve closest battleground states from 2004. NPV assures that all groups and their issues get equal attention. This is why the NAACP and African-American and Latino legislator organizations support NPV.

NPV Helps Small and Rural States: Despite myths otherwise, by leveling the playing field, NPV forces candidates to concentrate on all constituencies, states and populations, rather than disproportionately spending time in a few larger winner-take-all mega-states. In addition, because 12 of the 13 small states are spectators, they actually constitute the most ignored groups of states.

NPV Avoids Disputed Close Presidential Elections: Because a very close result is more likely among a smaller group of voters, the possibility of a Florida 2000 style electoral meltdown is much less likely under NPV. Put another way, because the margin of victory nationwide is much larger than it is in individual states, NPV elections are less susceptible to problems than essentially 50 state races.

This issue has been much discussed over the last couple months. So I will not cover the objections to this. Steve, at America’s Watchtower, Kristen, at Kristen’s Mishmash, and John from the Current, have all expertly covered this topic. My analysis will take a different direction.

Again, my take deals with what the PSN does not say. The NPV moves us, as a nation, closer to a Democracy. While I know that many would think that is a wonderful development, it is clearly not. The PSN fails (deliberately) to recognize that the United States is a Constitutional Republic. While there are components of Democracy to our system of government, there are built in protections against mob rule. There are checks and balances built into all of our systems. For background, consider this from Thomas Jefferson:

“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.”

There is truth to this statement. If we went purely by popular vote, there might be still slave states. We might have never had civil rights legislation of any kind. Popular rule is mob rule.

For even more, let’s take a look at this from Alexander Tyler.

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.” (Emphasis added)

Let’s take a look at this idea a bit more closely. Do we not have 50% of the population that pays no federal income tax? Does a segment of that 50% receive the Earned Income Tax Credit…for income that was NOT earned? How many of that 50% owe their housing, medical care, food, and other essentials to the government? Out of that segment, how many will vote against their own benefits? Or, will they vote for the “progressive” that promises them even more?

Then, take a look at the move to make more and more people dependent on government benefits? Using unemployment expansion, ObamaCare, and other programs, the current administration seeks to make more and more of the population dependent on the government for their basic needs. This has the effect of turning more and more Americans into dependent classes, and therefore, permanent “progressive” voters.

If you want proof, how many times have the Democrats said one, if not all, of the following at election time?

The Republicans are going to take your Social Security!

The Republicans are going to take your Medicare!

The Republicans are going to take your Schools!

The Republicans are going to starve the children!

The Republicans are going to freeze the elderly!

The Republicans are going to make granny eat Alpo to afford her medication!

The Republicans want the poor to die.

It’s a work right now. And by bringing us closer to a Democracy, they know they can enslave enough of the population to achieve insurmountable levels of power.

Again, it’s all about what they haven’t said.

Another initiative that the PSN supports is National Voter Compliance Act:

<ins><ins></ins></ins>

National Voter Registration Act Compliance: NVRA compliance has been re-implemented by public assistance agencies in five states (North Carolina, Michigan, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Missouri). The messages to expand these successes include:

NVRA Compliance Increases Registration: The reward has been substantial, and in some cases dramatic, increases in voter registrations obtained. Missouri has obtained the most impressive turn-around, with a 2600% increase in registrations collected from public assistance agencies after reforms were implemented.

NVRA Compliance Assures Equal Opportunities to Register: The National Voter Registration Act was enacted with the understanding that opportunities to register to vote must be equally available to all. But racial and socio-economic gaps in the electorate will persist so long as public assistance agencies fail to offer voter registration to their low-income clients. Such individuals, who are less likely to own a motor vehicle, must have a chance to register to vote at public assistance offices as others do at departments of motor vehicles.

NVRA Compliance Addresses Racial and Economic Disparities in Registration: Recent U.S. Census data confirms the racial, ethnic and class bias of the electorate: 73.5 percent of non-Hispanic whites were registered to vote in 2008, as compared to 69.7 percent of blacks, 59.4 percent of Latinos, and 55.9 percent of Asian Americans. Only 65 percent of adult citizens in households making less than $25,000 a year were registered to vote in 2008, as compared to 85 percent of those in households making $100,000. Effective voter registration programs at public assistance agencies are powerful tools for reducing these disparities and bringing more voices into the democratic process.

Again, the presentation is quite nicely worded, but the key is in what they DO NOT say. As I discussed in my recent post on voter fraud, AG Holder has decided to not enforce the part of Motor Voter that dictates that voter rolls be purged of dead or ineligible voters. The PSN does not mention this either. Then again, even if they did, Holder’s inaction might well be replicated at the state level as well. In my opinion, again, this could be a means to facilitate fraud, as there is no apparent means to provide oversight to the voter registration and verification process.

Also missing is the checks for actual citizenship in the PSN’s description. In many states, illegal aliens are receiving welfare benefits. If they are signing up for benefits, are they also being registered to vote? Again, with the systems for monitoring voter registration in most areas being deficient at best, who is to say that there aren’t illegal immigrants voting? Again, the PSN doesn’t seem to care for the integrity of the election, they simply want to register as many people as possible.

They should want to do that, as I have repeatedly mentioned, the breakdown for political demographics is as follows:

Liberal-20%

Moderate-40%

Conservative-40%

The “progressives” cannot count on the Moderates, they switch from time to time, and they’re currently trending to the right. With these numbers, it is impossible for them to maintain any kind of majority over time. As we’ve seen with the current administration and Congress, once their agenda becomes clear, and the results of their actions come to pass, the electorate recognizes the stench, and votes accordingly. By (potentially) creating fake voters out of thin air, they might be able to make some gains to avoid a rout, or create a victory.

Now, let’s add one other fly into this ointment. In the post on voter fraud, I mentioned the Soros funded Secretary of State project. No, I’m not talking about Hillary Clinton’s current job. The Secretary of State, at the state level, is charged with certifying elections. Soros, and his minions, are intent on making sure that as many of them as possible are “progressives.”

Considering that several people on the PSN Board come from other Soros-funded organizations, might they be coordinating? Let’s consider that for a moment…

Imagine this hypothetical situation based on what I’ve discussed. In my scenario, there are tens of thousands of fake voters, illegal immigrants, and otherwise ineligible voters mailing in ballots. There is no way to check them all, as the system is overwhelmed (Cloward-Piven). Also, there has been no effort to remove fake, dead, or ineligible voters from the rolls. Massive fraud changes the result of the vote. Then, the “progressive” Secretary of State will certify that election no matter what is exposed, and the “progressive” candidate wins.

As for this topic, the PSN seems to be able to create a very pretty picture of their intent. However, if you look at what they aren’t saying, and what is, or could be done, a different picture emerges. At every stage of the process, we MUST realize that “progressives,” like any other totalitarian form; will always misrepresent themselves to achieve their long term control agendas. The ends justify the means, and they are very free and loose with the means. Just as reminder; remember how ObamaCare was going to reduce costs? Remember how the porkulus was going to create all these jobs, and keep unemployment below 8%? Remember how there were no taxes in ObamaCare? Remember how ObamaCare wasn’t going to fund abortions? I could write a book on all of the lies, all told to advance an agenda that they knew we wouldn’t like.

In other words, if a “progressive” tells you that “fish live in the sea,” you might want to check, just to make sure.

Mood Darkens As Mid-Term Election Approaches

In an article by Peter Wallsten and Eliza Gray, at the Wall Street Journal’s website, entitled: “Grim Voter Mood Turns Grimmer” The dual scribes write the following: “Americans are growing more pessimistic about the economy and the war in Afghanistan, and are losing faith that Democrats have better solutions than Republicans, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.

Underpinning the gloom: Nearly two-thirds of Americans believe the economy has yet to hit bottom, a sharply higher percentage than the 53% who felt that way in January.”

Wallsten and Gray go on to say: “The sour national mood appears all-encompassing and is dragging down ratings for the GOP too, suggesting voters above all are disenchanted with the political establishment in Washington. Just 24% express positive feelings about the Republican Party, a new low in the 21-year history of the Journal’s survey. Democrats are only slightly more popular, but also near an all-time low.” (SOURCE)

WOW! Who’ed ‘ov thunk it?!

Well, actually, we THUNK it! That is to say – those of us who actually pay attention to what the politicos are saying — and doing — in Washington.

Yes, and we have been yelling and waving our arms about TRYING to get your attention for months on end, now. Heck, we even warned BEFORE the elections in 2006 and 2008 that THIS WOULD HAPPEN IF THE DEMOCRATS AND OBAMA GAINED CONTROL OF THE US GOVERNMENT.

My fellow conservative writers, I assure you, are not celebrating our accuracy in predicting the sorry state America finds herself in today — far from it. We feel the very same frustration you do. We, too, are angry! We, too, are chomping at the bit, just waiting for a chance to get at the ballot box in November.

History tells us that when the British surrendered at Yorktown, Virginia, to Washington’s rag-tag army, the British band played “The World Turned Upside Down.” Maybe we ought to gather a band together and stand outside the White House and Congress and play the same tune 24 hours a day to vent our frustrations.

Talk about a world turned upside down! Back in the 1950’s, as an enlisted man in the US military, I was trained to fight socialism and marxism and communism on the battlefield. Our intelligence services were out there digging, day and night, for Intel to fight those nations who subscribed to the “killer of nations” – socialism. Today, some half a century later, our American government has embraced Socialism/Marxism/Progressivism – and guess what? It is killing America just as it does every country that adopts it.

The writers of the same article, cited above, go on to say: “As in recent polls, Americans are split on President Barack Obama’s job performance, with 47% approving and 48% disapproving. But a majority disapproves of his performance on the economy. And six in 10, including 83% of independents and a quarter of Democrats, say they are only somewhat or not at all confident that Mr. Obama has the right policies to improve it.” (SOURCE)

Really? I find that difficult to believe. I mean, the mainstream media continues to tell us what a wonderful President Mr. Obama is, and all. How gauche of conservatives to point out the obvious. “The Emperor has no clothes!”

Only Jimmy Carter can really appreciate Mr. Obama. Now Mr. Carter is no longer the worst President the United States has ever had.

The article goes on to say this about the way in which voters view Congress: “The survey suggests that Democrats should expect little if any appreciation from voters for legislative achievements such as overhauling the health care and financial systems. Six in 10 Americans rated Congress’ performance this year as below average or one of the worst. And the economy is dominating voters’ worries. Among those who believe the economy will get worse over the next year, 67% want a GOP-led Congress.” (SOURCE)

Well, what about the war, you know—“The Right War” – Mr. Obama’s War in Afghanistan? The article continues: “On the Afghanistan war, which had been an area of strength for the president since he revamped his military strategy, 68% of Americans now feel less confident the war will come to a successful conclusion. Just 44% approve of the president’s job on Afghanistan, down from a majority who approved in March, the last time the poll addressed the topic.” (SOURCE)

The war in Afghanistan is what a country gets when it politicizes a war. For evidence, may I present the Vietnam War?

You want to win a war? Forget about winning hearts and minds so the enemy will do what you want! Get them by the “cajones” and you can take them anywhere you want to take them! In other words, FIGHT to WIN!

Angry Americans no longer have faith in either the Democrats or the Republicans to fix what ails our country. Having no viable third party to turn to accounts for some of the frustration.

Americans are tired of choosing between the lesser of two evils. We understand the lesser of two evils is STILL EVIL! BUT, having said that – we are probably going to vote for the Republicans this fall to punish the Democrats. (That is no way to run a railroad, folks, but there it is.) So, the GOP will probably win by default – IF they don’t do something stupid and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

America is one PO’ed country these days.

I was in my barber’s shop earlier this week when someone made the statement that he guessed we were all agreed that America has “one looney President.” Agreement was unanimous. It was also agreed that our longtime congressperson would not get our votes this time around. We, every one of us, expressed our intention of voting for a newcomer republican, an Iraq war veteran, who has demonstrated his intestinal fortitude on the battlefield actually leading men in battle as an officer.

Now, if we can only find a “Fighting General” to run for President against Obama, or Hillary, in 2012. We are going to need him when we go back to Iraq for the third time.

As the Japanese can tell the world, it takes something BIG to wake Americans up. But, by golly, when they awaken, somebody is going to pay — and pay dearly!

Good Morning, America!

Beware Analysts Worried About the GOP

Why do Virginia Republicans insist on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory? Here in the 11th Congressional District primary they had a chance to choose that nice Pat Herrity — who got along so well with the Democrats on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors — as the candidate to challenge Democrat Gerry Connolly this fall.

Instead those pesky conservatives voted for Keith Fimian and now the media is worried about the viability of the GOP. Again.
The headline on the “analysis” in the Washington Post was: “Virginia Republicans reassess after Pat Herrity’s 11th District primary loss.” From the media’s point of view, Fimian’s solid, 12–point victory over Herrity is ominous and cause for genuine concern.

Fimian’s a guy who calls himself a “tea–party conservative,” owns a business and has never shown pornography to college girls, yet unenlightened GOP voters think he’s qualified to serve in Congress.

What could they be thinking?

As the Post lamented, Herrity is a moderate, had the “full backing of the region’s Republican establishment,” possessed name recognition and therefore, was the obvious choice of the smart set.

A “moderate” Republican, according to the media’s definition, has “an unusual brand of fiscal conservatism and an independent streak on social issues, such as immigration.” What this means in plain language is a “moderate” Republican votes for tax increases; does zero to reduce the size of government; supports amnesty for illegal aliens; and believes Adam and Steve have just as much right to be married as Adam and Eve.

When GOP voters don’t follow the sound advice of their betters and choose a “moderate,” it causes consternation in mainstream media newsrooms and usually results in helpful suggestions as to how Republicans can be more successful winning votes among members of the media and qualify for invitations to the really cool cocktail parties.

Unfortunately the prescription from these volunteer doctors of politics is always the same: a nice social–engineering colonic followed by a lethal injection of Big Government. Adhering to this advice would serve to make elections a no–lose proposition for America’s elites. Voters could choose the genuine Democrat or they could exercise their independence and vote for the imitation Democrat on the Republican Party line.

Either way, leftist politics continue.

But that is definitely not the outcome Republican primary voters want. Survey after survey proves Republicans support the candidates who most closely adhere to conservative principles.

A Rasmussen survey of Republicans in South Carolina proves my point. When asked to evaluate GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham — a spineless collaborator always eager to please Democrats and gain favorable media coverage — in comparison to GOP Sen. Jim DeMint — a Tea party conservative and bane of leftists everywhere — 51 percent preferred Sen. DeMint’s performance. Only 32 percent thought the GOP should be more like Mr. Graham and try harder to be booked for more appearances on MSNBC.

Furthermore, among swing voters or independents 44 percent were “very favorable” towards DeMint and another 17 percent were “somewhat favorable.” Proving voters favor a politician who follows his principles over one who follows the TV cameras.
And a June 1st nationwide robo–survey by ccAdvertising of almost 14,000 people found that 42 percent considered themselves supporters of the Tea party, which is my kind of “fringe” movement.

Much of the media analysis of Fimian’s victory displays a myopia impervious to even the most powerful Lasik treatment. To begin with, Fairfax County — although undeniably wealthy — does not own the 11th District, our votes here in Prince William count, too. Furthermore, Herrity did not have the endorsement of the Republican “establishment.”

Fimian was endorsed by US Rep. Eric Cantor (Republican Whip from VA), Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, PWC Board of Supervisor’s Chairman Corey Stewart and Delegates Scott Lingamfelter and Bob Marshall to name but a few established members of the Virginia GOP.

In short, Fimian is a credible candidate solidly in the mainstream of GOP conservative politics and fully qualified to defeat Connolly in November.

On primary day, I knew Herrity was in trouble when I went to the polls to vote. At my polling place there was not a single Herrity yard sign to be found among the many Fimian signs.

As voters walked toward the school there were also no Herrity poll workers. Usually on Election Day the area just outside 100 feet from the polling place resembles an Arab bazaar with tents, tables and urgent pleas. But instead of being accosted by merchants demanding you “buy my rug,” voters are urged to “vote for my guy.”

Only Fimian supporters were excited enough about their candidate to actually show up to work the polls. It appears “moderation” in pursuit of an election is not a powerful motivator after all.

Where did the “Silent Majority” go?

During the decade of the seventies the “Silent Majority” was often spoken of in the press. Prominent politicians, including the President, openly sought their support. Well, where did they go?

Oh, they’re still here… and just as powerful as before. You see them everyday. They’re all around you. They are the folks you see at parties who stand around the edges of a group discussing politics. They rarely have any input into the discussion… they just absorb it. They’re the folks who do not sit in on the coffee klatch discussion on politics and world affairs.

They’re the people who go to church, nearly every Sunday, and raise their children to be respectful of others and live useful, productive lives. They send their kids to church supported universities and colleges for a good education, rather than an indoctrination in the ways of the political left.

The Silent Majority is the folk who never miss an opportunity to vote. They believe men died to give them that opportunity, and they will not abuse the memory of those heroic men by not going to the polls to vote. They are also the people who will not tell those taking the Exit Polls who they voted for. They voted in secret, it’s their secret, and they will keep it, often never even divulging it to their families. They are, for the most part, conservative in politics as well as religion.

These are the people who shop at Wal-Mart, and K-mart, and drive 2, 3 or 4 year old cars. Most own their own homes. They have savings accounts and they have a family budget, which they will not abuse. Their lives are built around their families and their church. Many are veterans of America’s armed forces. They believe this country is worth fighting for and they will put their own lives on the line to protect her. They view politics as a necessary evil. They believe they should always vote for the man who best represents their belief. They will not support a candidate just because he, or she, wears the label of the party to which they, themselves, are registered.

They wield enormous power. These people can make, or break, a presidential election. When they step into the voting booth, they speak, loud and clear. It is there that the Silent Majority rejects their silence and shouts their politics to the world.

Today the Silent Majority has joined forces with the outspoken Conservative Movement in America in a desperate attempt to save America from the clutches of socialism.

President Obama and our socialist Congress should be mindful of these powerful Americans. They see it all, and they hear it all, and they silently form their conclusion about who should get their support. Politicians, beware! You neglect the Silent Majority at your peril.– especially now that they have found their audible voice through the outspoken Conservative Movement (Example: The Tea Party movement).

Then — there is the Mainstream Media. The voice of the American left. They make fun of one of the mightiest forces in American politics. The Silent Majority never fails to notice the press’s stifled giggles; and their backhanded insults of the conservative politics of these very real, very patriotic, Americans. They see it all and… they remember… and they take those memories into the voting booth with them.

So, here’s to the Silent Majority! May God bless them!
