<p>Although the thought processes behind the adoption of these belief systems are opaque to me — much like the decision to go out and get a tattoo — knowing religion–oriented plates are out there is not disturbing.</p>
<p>However, one can’t say that for atheists who are very easily disturbed. Evidently their dedication to their lack of faith is so fragile that exposure to slightest whiff of Christianity has the potential to propel them backwards into darkness and superstition. The next thing you know they’re eating Wednesday night dinner in a Baptist Fellowship Hall and wondering why there are never any salt shakers on the table.</p>
<p>Atheists and the separation–of–church–and–state crowd are busy banning Bibles in schools, crosses from Utah roadsides and the phrase “God bless you” from funerals in a Houston VA cemetery. Consequently, they aren’t focused on license plates, but I have a feeling it’s on a To–Do list.</p>
<p>Readers who rely on the news media for their Constitution instruction may not know this, but the document is not actively anti–religion. The founders were believers and the thought of banning government from even the most glancing connection with God would have seemed absurd to them.</p>
<p>The Constitution only prohibits the establishment of a state religion, for example: Emperor worship during the Roman Empire or the Anglican Church in England under Henry VIII.</p>
<p>The phrase “separation of church and state” does not appear in the Constitution. This atheist catchphrase originated in a private letter written by Thomas Jefferson and has no more force of law than this column.</p>
<p>And Jefferson, bless his heart, had his idiosyncrasies. Acting as the Gutenberg of the scissors and a paste–pot set, Jefferson produced his own Bible by literally cutting out the parts he didn’t like and keeping what he did.</p>
<p>This may make him the first Unitarian Universalist and would probably qualify Jefferson to be ordained as an Episcopal bishop, but it does not make him a reliable source on the religious views of the founders.</p>
<p>For the sake of argument, let’s assume the religion scrubbers are correct and the Constitution justifies purging all trace of worship from the public square. The question is what type of government do they think will result?</p>
<p>A cool, clean empire of intellect ruled by Mr. Spock? Maybe, but China is more likely.</p>
<p>This would make many progressives very happy, including those in the White House. China is a communist government run by experts. (A two–fer in progressive circles.) These experts don’t get bogged down in partisan gridlock caused by annoying Republicans who smoke. Decisions are made based on science, not politics. Plus, the experts are Asian and everyone knows how smart they are.</p>
<p>China is also rich. And it has bullet trains that fly between major cities. State–sponsored abortion is legal. (You could almost call it human sacrifice, but that sounds too much like religion.) And since there is only one party, there are no messy political campaigns and tacky commercials.</p>
<p>China is everything a secular humanist could wish for, until a toddler gets hit by a truck.</p>
<p>Then you learn the price for removing religion from the public square. 18 different people in Guangzhou watched as a two–year–old girl, who wandered into traffic, was smashed by delivery van. They left her lying bloody in the street until she was run over by a truck. Finally, after seven long minutes, an elderly scrap peddler, who may not have had anything to lose, dragged her out of the street.</p>
<p>People don’t help injured two–year–olds in China because helping others is not state–approved behavior. In 2007 a young man was sued after he helped an elderly woman with a broken leg to the hospital. The Wall Street Journal reports the court ordered the rescuer to pay 40 percent of the woman’s medical bills because “according to common sense” he would not have helped her if he had not been in some way responsible for her fall.</p>
<p>This is social Darwinism as a governing philosophy. Altruism only creates suspicion in a government where religion is banned.</p>
<p>This is why over time the religion haters won’t like the government that results from their efforts. Because when you jettison God you also jettison the Good Samaritan.</p>

And my emotional reaction has been one of sadness, anger, shock, disgust, and dismay.</p>
<p>For most Americans, as well, the news of the day has become a bit too much concerning the state of the Union. We feel abandoned, bullied, pushed, and intimidated by our &#8220;historical&#8221; president. Dare I say he seems to have some issues?</p>
<p><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUF5lRYvgR8">Frankly, Obama&#8217;s recent address to the nation</a> did little more than add insult to injury. He gave no answers that made any sense. He only became &#8220;<a href="http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0809/26328.html">wee weed up</a>&#8221; while spending a great deal of his time telling us we can no longer depend on oil and shamelessly pandering his green energy propaganda.</p>
<p><strong>Outmoded fear-mongering.</strong></p>
<p>On Hannity the other evening, my colleague Erik Rush nailed it <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBsj09qWGD8">while discussing his new book</a> titled <em><a href="http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.erikrush.com%2Fnegrophilia.htm&amp;h=450e0yR-ccNgc8guBnK6fOYn0QQ">Negrophilia: From Slave Block to Pedestal — America&#8217;s Racial Obsession.</a></em> The Democrat Party purposefully misleads people of color by reinforcing their fears, Erik pointed out. And certain pastors in the black community do the same, he noted. Within too many of the sanctuaries of black churches, the congregants are made to feel that the world is against them. From the pulpit, these same pastors will look to government, rather than to God&#8217;s instruction for taking personal responsibility. In <a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+10%3A10&amp;version=NIV">John 10:10</a>, Christ says, &#8220;I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.&#8221; The apostle John writes, &#8220;Beloved, I wish above all things that you may <em>prosper</em> and be in health, even as your soul prospers&#8221; (<a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=3+John+1%3A2&amp;version=NIV">3 John 1:2</a>).</p>
<p><a href="http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=2336">We were told throughout Obama&#8217;s campaign</a> that if it were possible, he would bring racially-diverse Americans closer together than ever before. I viewed this promise as empty rhetoric because, like my friend Erik, I do not believe for one moment that America is deeply embedded in racial problems. We moved forward a long time ago. Americans intermarry and raise wonderful children together. And anyone can be whatever he or she chooses to be when they are willing to put their mind and effort to it. This is 2010, and we&#8217;re not gawking at the color of each others&#8217; skin.</p>
<p>However, ever since the Obamas moved into the White House, we&#8217;ve heard — with incessant racial-mindedness — something much different. Americans of all nationalities and ethnicities on the conservative side are not going to tolerate or embrace the progressives&#8217; downtrodden, race-baiting lies being tossed out in the public arena. We&#8217;re in touch with the heart of America. The radical liberals are not. <a href="http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/gallup-obama-reelection-independents/2010/06/18/id/362442?s=al&amp;promo_code=A1BA-1">Have you seen the recent polls</a>?</p>
<p><strong>Bigotry masquerading as religion.</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hPR5jnjtLo">When Rev. Jeremiah Wright first stepped</a> onto the political scene, he opened the door to unabashed bigotry. For the very first time, most Americans were shocked to learn about Black Liberation theology. It had nothing to do with biblical Christianity whatsoever. It was about hatred of others who happened to be of European white descent. Liberation theology also has to do with being anti-Semitic.</p>
<p>There in an ungodly mix is a theology that demands a payback of sorts. It&#8217;s about what some white and black people did during the very distant past days of slavery. And sadly, in the minds of some, it does not matter what was accomplished during the Civil War. It does not matter what Martin Luther King, Jr., accomplished in the 60&#8242;s as Americans came together for heart-felt healing.<br />
Today, we actually do have open bigotry. Let&#8217;s call it out where it exists. It emanates from those who want to continually live off the bygone past. There are race baiters within the worlds of politics, media, and faith. The number of such radicals serving with the president is staggering. We should be more outraged. We need to ask why other politicians continue to give this president and his corrupt cabinet any respect, much less the time of day.</p>
<p><strong>Marxists posing as Christians.</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6abZBA21Oxw&amp;NR=1">Pastors of many denominations</a> are in close contact with Rev. Jim Wallis, an openly avowed socialist/Marxist who is a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pd6PyXaVlCk&amp;NR=1">member</a> of President Obama&#8217;s &#8220;Faith Council&#8221; and is described as a spiritual adviser to the president. These pastors are behind the scenes busily helping the president. They&#8217;re defiantly cheering Obama on as he becomes more unbending and aloof in his thoughts. Yes, he is a master at working out a very successful strategy of <a href="http://www.breitbart.tv/rev-wallis-reveals-how-redistribution-of-wealth-was-written-into-dnc-platform-obamas-budget/">redistribution of wealth, or what is cleverly called &#8220;social justice</a>.&#8221; If anyone of importance says one word against the president or his big-government policies, they are demonized.</p>
<p>Americans need to understand the destructive role that churches and pastors of once-conservative denominations are playing. They have allowed progressives into their fold and given them high offices within their churches. They stand ready to help re-elect Obama. They will gladly help him pass his green agenda — Cap and Trade. These denominations are no longer America&#8217;s friend. The United Council of Churches consists of little more than progressive ideologues. They neither love their country nor respect the Word of God. They are on the side of tyranny. Any denomination that mirrors their teachings should be viewed with suspicion. &#8220;While I pray that God will have mercy on their souls, <em>we</em> must show them no mercy politically. They are but another well-organized group of traitors to this nation&#8221; — Erik Rush.</p>
<p><strong>Excerpts from &#8220;What Exactly Is &#8216;Social Justice&#8217;?&#8221;</strong></p>
<p>In a May 16 article at <em>American Thinker,</em> Jayme Sellards writes:</p>
<p>&#8220;<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=JP&amp;hl=ja&amp;v=Ac8nBLkUSxw">The term &#8216;social justice</a>&#8216; is now commonly used by leftist activists, clergy, educators, judges, and politicians to describe the goal they seek to achieve with many of their policies. No precise definition of &#8216;social justice&#8217; is ever offered by the left. Instead, the term is always used in a vague way — as if everyone already knows, or should know, what the seemingly well-intentioned phrase &#8216;social justice&#8217; means.</p>
<p>&#8220;So, what exactly is &#8216;social justice&#8217;?</p>
<p>&#8220;Social justice is the complete economic equality of all members of society. While this may sound like a lofty objective, what it really means is that wealth should be collected by the government and evenly distributed to everyone. In short, social justice is communism. It is rooted in the Marxist idea that the <a href="http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/05/what_exactly_is_social_justice.html##">money</a> people make and the property they own do not rightfully belong to the people who make the money and own the property.&#8221; <a href="http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/05/what_exactly_is_social_justice.html">Full Article</a></p>
<p><strong>Deceptive faith.</strong></p>
<p>It seems that when faith and the biblical gospel message should be at the apex in rebuilding America&#8217;s moral and material stamina, we as a nation are thrown into more chaos. To understand what is happening to our country, we need to understand Obama&#8217;s faith. Only then will our eyes see our unfortunate destiny.</p>
<p>The president will not handle our foreign allies with dignity or respect because he has none for them. It&#8217;s absolutely shameful how Israel has been treated by this president and his czarist administration. <a href="http://frontpagemag.com/2010/06/11/religious-rally-against-israel/">Matters of a deceptive faith held by the president</a> have everything to do with why our country is being purposely trashed and dismantled.</p>
<p>Welcome to Obama&#8217;s America. How do you like socialism? <a href="http://www.acton.org/media/media200803270651.php">The progressive, quasi-Christian faith</a> of Black Liberation Theology will lead our country right into the throes of Marxism. And let it be known that Obama has never denounced his anti-Christian belief system. So please, Mr. President, do not talk about Jesus Christ to born-again Christians who have the gift of discernment. You&#8217;re not up to their spiritual &#8220;pay grade.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Plenty to fear.</strong></p>
<p>As we wrestle with the fact that a once-thriving free-market society has been taken to the woodshed by a narcissistic, vengeful man, there is plenty of fear to go around. How does one reckon with a president who personally believes he has the right to mete out social justice to all of America?</p>
<p>How is social justice applied? In plain English, the process is denigrating. It takes away personal liberties, property, and money from hard-working people and fritters them away in big government programs steeped in nebulous, sweeping agendas. It reaches across the abyss to punish an entire nation.</p>
<p>This mindset belongs to a president who wants to force a new view upon our country in a short period of time. Obama is changing America&#8217;s image for his own sake and in dogmatic deference to those who&#8217;ve shaped his way of thinking. His father was a communist and his mother was a Marxist sympathizer.</p>
<p><strong>Look what the tide brought in.</strong></p>
<p>Week after week, we see disaster looming on the horizon. America&#8217;s president can&#8217;t be counted on to tackle an emergency such as the BP oil spill. It&#8217;s now become a scandalous nightmare for both man and animal.</p>
<p>Where was Obama&#8217;s concern for the people? <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wd2Czymu44k">What about the beautiful helpless creatures</a> that are dying from the thick sludge? So much for the care of Mother Earth!</p>
<p>Thirteen anxious, committed foreign countries and the UN stand ready to help with the rescue effort — yet the president has turned them away. And for what reason wouldn&#8217;t he waive the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jones_Act">Jones Act</a>? Regardless of the spin Vice President Joe Biden gives, there have been no overtures from the White House to clear the way so foreign vessels will feel comfortable committing their time and energy to help clean up the mess.</p>
<p>People believe that Obama&#8217;s hesitation to allow other nations to help us clean up the spill has more to do with big unions than the constraints of federal laws that a president can set aside when need be, as President G.W. Bush did during the Katrina disaster. Who in a rational state of mind would behave so unconscionably? <p>What type of a man would willfully turn down desperately needed help that could spare our ocean and shores and secure our wildlife? Here is a picture of a man we need to vote out of office. He and his so-called &#8220;social justice&#8221; have done enough to bring this magnificent country to its knees.</p>

<p>With every passing day, we hear of many unthinkable tragedies and acts of disregard for human life caused by man&#8217;s inhumanity toward man. That is disturbing enough. But we also encounter <a href="http://www.asiantsunamivideos.com/">violent acts of nature on a massive scale</a> that seem so random, unfair, and inexplicable, we are often at a complete loss to deal with them.</p>
<p>One religious writer put it succinctly with this particular headline following the tsunami that devastated Asia five years ago: &#8220;<a href="http://www.newsweek.com/id/48158">Countless Souls Cry Out to God</a>.&#8221; The writer than proceeded to question how Christians could believe in God in the face of such suffering. Like the writer, many of us hold the misconception that God directly causes all natural disasters.</p>
<p><strong>La Conchita tragedy</strong></p>
<p>As religious broadcaster <a href="http://ww.itiswritten.com/tvprogram/episode/2006/04/1050">Shawn Boonstra recounts</a>, it was another Sunday morning before Easter, yet the bereaved felt more as though it were the Friday night of Calvary weekend. An enemy had ripped away a best friend&#8217;s life. Instead of a cross or a murdering act executed by a Roman spear, it was nature&#8217;s killer rage that created a 9.0 earthquake deep in the ocean. And as in time past, when people stood standing at the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, the cry of the human heart asked the same question: God, why in the world did you allow this to happen?</p>
<p>There on a beach in Southern California, debris caused by recent torrential rains made it possible for the hillsides to collapse, causing innocent people to die. The forces of nature brought heartbreak and devastation to a small California community. Because of what took place in Asia, the tsunami was still very fresh on everyone&#8217;s mind. Then just two weeks later, this disaster hit Southern California. After torrential rains, which were reported as biblical in proportion, newscasts said there was flooding everywhere. Frightened people left their homes to stay in shelters as their cars and mobile homes were washed away.</p>
<p>In this little town of 166 homes, people knew they were living in the shadow of an unstable mountain. The folks understood that back in 1995, another mudslide took out a portion of the community. Then 10 years later, on <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y05lc1naG7s">January 10th of 2005,</a> the hillside came roaring into La Conchita again. Unfortunately, thirteen homes were swallowed up.</p>
<p><img style="margin: 5px 5px 0px 0px; display: inline;" src="http://www.renewamerica.com/images/columns/100404jon2.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="277" height="190" align="left" /> The American public were shocked and stunned as they watched a young father named James Wallet join the rescue teams digging through the mountains of deadly dirt. He was hoping to find his family. His 16-year-old daughter had left prior to the disaster to get some ice cream for her family, while 400,000 tons of earth buried all their hopes and dreams. <a href="http://www.firefightersforchrist.org/pdfs/ffc_newsletter_spring_05.pdf">Firefighters</a> and county volunteers found the lifeless body of Wallet&#8217;s pretty wife, Michelle, and hours later, the rest of his family were all found dead. What does a father think when an act of God allowed his three children and his wife to lose their lives?</p>
<p>One could point to the story of Job in the Bible. He cried out to God after a giant twister killed his three daughters and seven sons. Job didn&#8217;t abandon his faith, however. He said, &#8220;The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord&#8221; (<a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&amp;version=NKJV&amp;passage=Job+1%3A21">Job 1:21</a>).</p>
<p>Was it the Lord who reached down and deliberately took the lives of Job&#8217;s family? In this case, Satan was responsible for the troubles that befell Job, according to the biblical account.</p>
<p><strong>False Christians</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/04/01/fbi-ruse-created-arrest-militia-suspects/">It was this past Palm Sunday</a> when a news story was developing about a Michigan-based militia group which had been raided by the FBI over the weekend. It seems the group were preparing for battle with the Antichrist. Their belief stands in stark contrast to mainstream Christianity. For in their minds, their war was a violent one against the federal government.</p>
<p>Make no mistake, and understand clearly, that those who would go to such extremes to wreak havoc upon our society shame the name of the greatest peacemaker in history, Jesus Christ.</p>
<p>The fact is that zealots like these are not Christians. They are unbridled troublemakers. Yet, somehow, Christians will be blamed for these people&#8217;s deeds by the media, who have no use for the God of the Bible or His true believers.</p>
<p>However, little is mentioned by the same media about false teachers and preachers who pander a theology that falls into the realm of Marxism. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjZ_NjjFjck&amp;feature=player_embedded">Its tentacles are now embedded</a> into our nation&#8217;s policies. Shouldn&#8217;t they too be classified as just as contemptible and irresponsible as overzealous professing Christians? For they have purposely corrupted the meaning of caring for and serving the needy and poor among us.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.acton.org/media/media200803270651.php">Congregants who attend &#8220;social justice&#8221; denominations</a> come out of their sanctuary doors full of anger aimed at society. Unfortunately, the Lord&#8217;s love cannot be exhibited in such anger, because it is not centered in the life-changing, everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ.</p>
<p><strong>False teachers</strong></p>
<p><img style="margin: 0px 0px 0px 10px; display: inline;" src="http://www.renewamerica.com/images/columns/100404jon3.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="195" height="162" align="right" /> Revs. Jeremiah Wright, Otis Moss, Jim Wallis, and their ilk are demagogues who preach class warfare, social chaos, and loathing for America. So let us also categorize the term &#8220;social justice&#8221; as explosive and equally distorted and perverted as those arrested over the weekend. For these preachers have sown the seeds and fanned the flames of racism, anti-Semitism, and bigotry.</p>
<p>When God&#8217;s truth is willfully tampered with, nothing good comes out of it except hatred and mistrust. Pastors and preachers of America&#8217;s mainstream denominations had better begin to speak out against doctrinal falsehoods. Their job as pastors is to finish up the task of the Great Commission and protect their flocks from ravishing wolves. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RELWULoyIn0">There is nothing biblical</a> or liberating about liberation theology. The very term is demeaning. Christ came to save the world and to set the captives free by His atoning death on the cross. Now that is the Good News, and in itself it is liberating.</p>
<p>While ministers are preaching salvation by grace as well as the Second Coming of Christ, they must not allow untruths to go unchallenged in the public arena. Righteous clergy need to call out President Barack Obama&#8217;s new spiritual leader and political advisor, Jim Wallis, for the fraud that he is. As it stands, he has managed to achieve his goal politically, <a href="http://www.breitbart.tv/obama-advisor-jim-wallis-explores-wealth-marxism-social-justice/">and has helped Obama impose redistribution of wealth</a> on every citizen. He then has the unmitigated gall to pitch his Babylon theology as biblical Christianity.</p>
<p>Godly pastors have the task of exposing this teaching or facing its consequences. <a href="http://www.breitbart.tv/howard-dean-of-course-health-care-law-is-redistribution-of-wealth/">The American people are being squeezed</a> to the tipping point by a tyrannical administration from every which way. It&#8217;s no wonder we find fringe groups waiting to take advantage of &#8220;manufactured crises&#8221; caused by our president.</p>
<p>Every day, the average citizen has to contend with outlandish verbiage and accusations aimed at them. It is coming from the president and the Democrats in Washington, D.C.</p>
<p><strong>Media mischaracterization</strong></p>
<p>The media directs their scorn against Americans who disagree with what is taking place in our country. Good, decent, law-abiding citizens are being lumped into the same category as those who were arrested a week ago because we oppose government&#8217;s intrusions into our private lives. We disagree with Washington&#8217;s increasing takeover of the private sector, which now includes socialized health care.</p>

<p>&#8220;The Michigan-based militia group charged with conspiring to kill police officers is preparing for battle with the Antichrist, according to a Web site purportedly run by the group.</p>
<p>&#8220;&#8216;Jesus wanted us to be ready to defend ourselves using the sword and stay alive using equipment,&#8217; <a href="http://hutaree.com/">Hutaree.com</a> reads. &#8216;The only thing on earth to save the testimony and those who follow it, are the members of the testimony, till the return of Christ in the clouds. We, the Hutaree, are prepared to defend all those who belong to Christ and save those who aren&#8217;t. We will still spread the word, and fight to keep it, up to the time of the great coming.&#8217;</p>
<p>&#8220;Nine suspects associated with Hutaree, which is purportedly a Christian-based militia group, have been charged with conspiring to kill police officers and then attack a funeral in hopes of killing more law enforcement officials, federal prosecutors said Monday. U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade said agents moved on the group because the militia members were planning an attack sometime in April.</p>
<p>&#8220;Members of the militia, including its leader, David Brian Stone, also known as &#8216;Captain Hutaree,&#8217; are charged in the case. An indictment alleges that members of the group conspired to &#8216;levy war against the United States, (and) to oppose by force the authority of the government of the United States.&#8217;</p>
<p>&#8220;Eight suspects have been arrested by the FBI and one more is being sought. Seven of the eight captured suspects are due in court later Monday.</p>
<p>&#8220;Andrew Arena, head of the FBI&#8217;s field office in Detroit, said the case is an example of &#8216;radical and extremist fringe groups&#8217; found throughout society.&#8221; <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/03/29/michigan-militia-group-preparing-anti-christ-web-site-says/">Full article</a></p>
<p><strong>Hope in Christ</strong></p>
<p>This Easter weekend, informed Christians will justly associate the disastrous things that have befallen our nation during the past year with the destructive agenda of President Obama. And they too will ask why God has not answered the prayers of His people. Freedoms are being eroded away. Christians look towards heaven for answers and intervention. His people understand they do not serve an angry God, but a victorious one.</p>
<p><img style="margin: 5px 0px 0px 10px; display: inline;" src="http://www.renewamerica.com/images/columns/100404jon5.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="235" height="154" align="right" /> When the stone was rolled away, the Savior emerged triumphantly in our behalf. Sadly, however, this weekend, which began on Good Friday, darkness arose once again. There is fear that God is allowing our country to be destroyed by a president who believes America should be punished. And Obama does it so very easily as he looks through the lens of the teachings he holds. <a href="http://www.acton.org/commentary/443_marxist_roots_of_black_liberation_theology.php">His conscience has been seared</a> by a false, man-made doctrine. View — &#8220;<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz1goz0V2Y4">Black Liberation Theology from James Cone to Wright to Obama</a>.&#8221;</p>
<p>Marxist &#8220;social justice&#8221; is not found in the Bible of the Almighty God. It was born out of the &#8220;Father of lies.&#8221; Yet Americans will suffer the yoke of bondage as our God-given liberties are taken from us. If this situation is not drastically changed in upcoming elections, we will continue to see our lives enslaved.</p>
<p>At times God does not intervene, and too often innocent people suffer. Remember the story of the ten plagues of Egypt. There were hailstones, darkness, frogs, flies, and locusts. God&#8217;s Word says that He sent them.</p>
<p>Stubborn, wicked people were the undoing of Egypt — beginning with a defiant Pharaoh who defied the will of God and kept His chosen people in bondage. All they wanted was life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Eventually, they would reach that Promised Land and receive it all. Will we be as successful?</p>
<p>There has been a consistent clarion call from <a href="http://www.renewamerica.com/">RenewAmerica.com</a>. There must be a renewal of the mind through Christ Jesus. Our cry has been to seek God&#8217;s face and ask The Almighty to heal our land.</p>
<p>&#8220;Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.&#8221; — <a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians+2%3A5-11&amp;version=NIV">Philippians 2:5</a></p>
<p><strong>My witness</strong></p>
<p>It is my personal contention that very few of us really understand the suffering that Christ had to endure on the cross of Calvary to save us. <a href="http://ww.itiswritten.com/tvprogram/episode/2006/04/1050">Shawn Boonstra</a> reminds us in &#8220;When Waters Overwhelm,&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Jesus had always said that He would die and then live again on the third day. But when He was at the edge of the tomb, the mudslide of the grave, it actually came to the point where the hope, the confidence, the security of His mission were all taken away from Him. The presence of God was withdrawn. The knowledge of reunion was obliterated. And there, on the cross, in one horrifying moment, Jesus accepted and carried the reality of separation. For the sacrifice to be complete, Jesus had to go through the experience of a lost sinner who would never go home again, who would never again feel the love of His family. And in the agony of that moment, He cried out to a seemingly empty universe: &#8216;My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?&#8217; (<a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&amp;version=NKJV&amp;passage=Matthew+27%3A46">Matthew 27:46</a>).&#8221;</p>
<p>Because Jesus gave His all for us, we do not have to face life&#8217;s worst prospects alone. Death has been conquered by Him:</p>
<p><img style="margin: 0px 0px 0px 5px; display: inline;" src="http://www.renewamerica.com/images/columns/100404jon6.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="183" height="115" align="right" /> &#8220;O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?&#8221; (<a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+15%3A55-57&amp;version=NIV">1 Corinthians 15:55</a>).<br />
In the face of life&#8217;s difficulties, we can cling to that hope. When we see the entire picture, it&#8217;s clear that the cross of Christ is God&#8217;s loving response to man&#8217;s sin problem. The Father doesn&#8217;t stand distant and aloof. He sent His only begotten Son! He didn&#8217;t require the death of Christ — He allowed it — His gift to a perverse world.<br />
As Boonstra writes, &#8220;In <a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+16%3A27&amp;version=NIV">John 16:27</a>, Jesus reminds us that &#8216;the Father himself loveth you.&#8217; And that is the message behind the resurrection. As dark as Friday was, Sunday morning was the ray of eternal hope. It was the moment when death itself was defeated.&#8221;</p>
<p>Stand with God. Do not hesitate to learn of Him. We will not be able to take American back if we do not &#8220;love and obey Him.&#8221; Obeying Christ makes us a strong and persevering people who are not swayed by every whim and unscriptural doctrine. Today is the day of salvation, yes even of our magnificent nation, America. Pray and ask the Lord to spare our country from what we fear is coming. Start by asking Him to rule your life completely. He alone is worthy to be praised and served.</p>
<p>&#8220;Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls&#8221; (<a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+11%3A29&amp;version=NIV">Matthew 11:29</a>).</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve written the words for you to take the first step to begin a new life with Him. Will you pray and ask God into your life?</p>
<p>Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for overcoming every obstacle for us. Thank you for conquering even death itself. We want to place our broken and bruised lives in your precious and capable hands. We want you as our hope and our future. In humility, we accept the gift of your Son&#8217;s atoning grace, the gift of Christ rising from the grave for us, and the gift of His living a sinless life for us. Thank you for making us a part of His resurrected life. We know that you are preparing special heavenly mansions for us. We so eagerly anticipate the day when we spend eternity with you. You are a mighty awesome God. We praise you for your love. In Jesus&#8217; name, Amen.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://westernfrontamerica.com/2008/09/21/heart-darkness-part-1/">Into The Heart Of Darkness, Part 1</a></p><p><a href="http://westernfrontamerica.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/devil-031.jpg#utm_source=feed&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=feed"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1469" style="margin: 5px;" title="devil-03" src="http://westernfrontamerica.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/devil-031.jpg" alt="" width="84" height="103" /></a>Senator Barack Obama has captured the world&#8217;s attention unlike almost any other  political figure of the era in which we live.  However, despite all the  theatrics surrounding the candidate and the almost messianic adoration displayed  on the part of his followers, very few can possible tell you what he actually  believes other than in &#8216;change&#8217;, which, though sounding like everything you ever  dreamed of, can actually consist of the stuff of nightmares.</p>
<p>Discerning Americans caught an early glimpse of what was beneath the facade  of intoxicating rhetoric when it became more widely disseminated what Obama&#8217;s  spiritual mentor Jeremiah Wright actually believed and what Obama had to have  soaked up philosophically during the formative years of his early adulthood.   Devoted acolytes will respond that his holiness has distanced himself from such  racialism.</p>
<p>David Duke made similar claims during the early to mid 90&#8242;s until falling  back into similar patterns of extremist thought.  So if few believed Duke back  then, why should we extend the benefit of the doubt to Obama now since a leopard  seldom changes its spots?</p>
<p>Before the Jeremiah Wright incident, many White Christians felt considerable  guilt over the constant harangue invoked by the more liberal among the clergy  about 11 o&#8217;clock Sunday morning being the most segregated hour of the week.   However, with the exposure of the disease of Black liberation theology eating  away at the heart of many Black churches, it has turned out that any sincere  Christian irrespective of their ethnic background ought to be cautious about  entering these &#8216;synagogues of Satan&#8217; as Scripture itself calls such hovels of  doctrinal compromise.</p>
<p>By more closely examining what liberation theologians actually expound and  what is mediated to the broader public by politicians such as Barack Obama, one  realizes that the threat posed by this pseudo-messiah and false prophet goes  much deeper than the lamentable historical animosities between the races.  And  even though this animosity against what this great country was built upon goes  much deeper than race and ethnicity, it is the jumping off point into the  radical circles in which Obama is being heralded as an almost messianic  figure.</p>
<p>Many Americans of goodwill no doubt think Jeremiah Wright and his warped  theology are a rare aberration on the American religious radar screen.  His kind  of outlook is actually more widespread than one might actually think.</p>
<p>To many of the influential in Black ecclesiastical circles, the problem was  not so much with what Jeremiah Wright said but rather that Whitey found out a  bit about what was being planned for him among those whose ultimate loyalty is  not to the God of the universe and His revealed word but instead to race as a  manifestation of the COMMUNITY.  Most American Christians steeped in commonsense  and the truths of the Bible would consider the things espoused by Jeremiah  Wright beyond the bounds of propriety; however, the assessment of liberals is  considerably different.</p>
<p>According to an article in the 5/5/08 edition of The Nation titled &#8216;The  Liberation Of Reverend Wright&#8217; by Eudora Smith, Wright&#8217;s elocutionary peeks such  as &#8216;God damn America&#8217; represent the &#8216;rhetorical traditions [that] meld biblical  allegory with contemporary political concerns and whose sanctuaries provide a  rare space where a collective black racial consciousness can be expressed  uncensored by others.&#8217;  I don&#8217;t remember Italians being referred to as  long-nosed garlic eaters as part of the Biblical literary heritage.  Eudora  Smith continues, &#8216;It may surprise many in white America&#8230;that there are a lot  of Jeremiah Wrights out there&#8230;&#8217;</p>
<p>Perhaps even more frightening than that there is a kook like Jeremiah Wright  espousing the kinds of things that he does is that there are so many that  believe as he does or look to him as an honorable man of God.  Many simply  excuse Wrights preaching, according to an MSNBC.com article titled &#8216;NYT: Black  Churches In NC Torn Over Wright&#8217; as &#8216;a prophetic style that combines spiritual  guidance with often harsh social criticism that has its roots in Old Testament  prophets.&#8217;</p>
<p>The reflections of a number of Wright&#8217;s supporters are documented in a  5/11/08 Baltimore Sun article titled &#8216;Black Preachers Agree To Disagree.&#8217;   However, from the article, the disagreement is not so much with Wright&#8217;s message  but that the world found out about it before their pony Obama won the horse race  and it would have been to late for America to do anything about it until the  next election.</p>
<p>Rev. Johnny Golden of New Unity Ministries told the Baltimore Sun, &#8216;We see a  lot of what he is saying and we understand it, but his comments have wounded the  opportunity of Mr. Obama to make gains and opportunity for America to embrace  his ideals.&#8217;</p>
<p>Rev. Marshall Prentice of Zion Baptist Church went even further in his  support for Wright when he told the Baltimore Sun, &#8216;To attack any pastor for  what he says from the pulpit is an attack on all pastors.  Whatever we say on a  given Sunday, we truly believe is given to us by inspiration of God.&#8217;</p>
<p>Oh really?  There is a cultic movement known as Christian Identity that is  essentially a religious form of Nazism; if someone claims to be a pastor within  that pernicious sect and disseminates their poison from behind a pulpit, by the  standard advocated in the previous quote, are we as mere laymen permitted to  speak out against such error?</p>
<p>Protestantism broke with Roman Catholicism largely in part over the  realization that clergy are not infallible and that there must be an objective  standard that exists above the mere opinions of man even if we as finite  individuals do not yet understand the entirety of the divine plumline.  However,  leftist denominations such as the United Church of Christ of which Wright is a  part hold that Scripture is no more a definitive rule of faith and practice than  any other piece of religious literature.  So when clergy speak to matters beyond  and that even blatantly contradict revelation’s scope, why should the Christian  in the pew have to defer to someone just because they wear a clerical  collar?</p>
<p>Such nonsense may be rife within denominations dominated by African American  religionists.  Yet as a group largely Protestant in orientation, one ought to  expect rigorous pastors and theologians to protect Evangelicalism against such  doctrinal toxins as expounded by the likes of Jeremiah Wright.  However, the  same spirit of relativism and timidity infecting the rest of our culture now  paralyzes some of Evangelicalism’s foremost institutions simply because the  heretic making the claims happens to be an ethnic minority.</p>
<p>Christianity Today was initially founded as a conservative alternative to  more liberal religious periodicals such as Christian Century and Sojourners.  If  that is the case, its founder Carl Henry must be rolling over in his grave.</p>
<p>Eager to achieve the appellation of “relevant” as did the Social Gospel and  Death of God movements from previous generations, insecure Evangelicals are  quick to latch onto any intellectual fad that comes along (especially if it  happens to be anti-American as of late).  And since all things Obama are all the  rage, the editors of Christianity Today can’t help but get on the bandwagon by  posting sympathetic viewpoints.</p>
<p>According to the article titled “Jeremiah Wright, Evangelicals’ Brother In  Christ”, the disputed pastor is no worse than John Hagee and ought to be  accepted as one of our own.  But what exactly does Jeremiah Wright believe?   Shouldn’t we examine this before we extend him unreservedly the hand of  fellowship?</p>
<p>The theology espoused by Jeremiah Wright is known as “Black liberation  theology”.  However, there is more to this than Black people wanting to go to  church predominately with other Black people.  Even those who painstakingly go  out of their way to avoid making distinctions between right and wrong are forced  to admit there was something profoundly incorrect going on at Wright’s  church.</p>
<p>According to the 5/12/08 edition of Newsweek, Oprah Winfrey use to be a  member of Wright’s church not so much out of theological conviction but rather  because she simply wanted to go to a Black church.  Before we return to the  primary thrust of this analysis, that admission is of such significance that it  needs to be examined a bit further as it expresses a mindset relevant to this  essay.</p>
<p>If a Black person wants to make being around other Black people their highest  priority even above fidelity to God Himself, liberals and multiculturalists  don’t have a problem with it.  However, if White folks are reluctant to go back  to Black churches not so much because of anything against Black people per say  but because what rational White person is going to want to sit week after week  hearing sermons that do not exposit the Word of God for our daily lives but  rather how wretched White people.  And furthermore quite frankly, in many Black  churches, the congregation can’t simply sing in the pews but must also jump over  them and roll around in the aisles.</p>
<p>For refusing to patronize such ecclesiastical confusion, we get lengthy  lectures how we are all one big human family.  But even in families, don’t  siblings enjoy different ways of relating to their father?  One might enjoy  going with him to the duck pond while the other prefers taking him to car shows;  does there really need to be all that much hand-ringing about these things being  enjoyed separately?</p>
<p>Since Oprah Winfrey ultimately worships Oprah Winfrey (a claim backed by her  embrace of Eckart Tolle), Oprah realized her own deification among the masses of  ignorant feminists with too much money would be at stake if she bent her knee to  a false god other than herself.  So she parted.<br />
There is more to Black  liberation theology than looking to Christ to free individuals from their sins.   In fact, a traditional Jesus plays a very small role in this worldview and the  individual is valued even less as one is only important as part of the larger  group or COMMUNITY.</p>
<p>John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world, that He gave us His only  begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have  everlasting life.”  However, to Black liberationists, this most fundamental of  Gospel Scriptures contains nothing but error.</p>
<p>According to a WorldNetDaily.com story titled &#8216;Christians Copy Christ Killers  Says Obama&#8217;s Pastor&#8217;s Magazine&#8217;, Jesus doesn&#8217;t really love the little children,  not the Red, nor the Yellow, and  the White ones especially aren&#8217;t really so  precious in His site after all.  According to theologians subscribing to this  school of thought such as Jeremiah Wright and James Cone, Jesus came only for  Black people.</p>
<p>Cone is quoted as saying in the WorldNetDaily article, &#8216;The black theologian  must reject any conception of God which stifles black self determination by  picturing God as the God of all peoples.  Either God is identified with the  oppressed to the point that their experience becomes God&#8217;s experience, or God is  a God of racism.&#8217;</p>
<p>Thus, one is a racist if one DOES NOT show preferential treatment towards  Black people.  It must be noted that this is not the only kind of double  standard advocated by those in Jeremiah Wright&#8217;s circles.</p>
<p>In orthodox Christian theology, since all races and ethnic groups are equal  ontologically or biologically even if the ways certain cultures manifest  themselves are better than others, particular standards and expectations can be  applied to individuals irrespective of their background.  However, if one  follows the thought of Jeremiah Wright to its logical conclusion, then Black  folks should not have to adhere to so-called &#8216;White man&#8217;s law&#8217;.</p>
<p>In his remarks before a 2008 NAACP anniversary dinner, Jeremiah Wright  contended that European-American children are &#8216;left-brained&#8217; in that they are  logical and analytical whereas African-American children are &#8216;right-brained&#8217;  making them creative and intuitive. On the surface, such theorizing does not  really sound like all that big of a deal as often different ethnic groups tend  to excel at specific things.  But one must ask the question what will this  alleged bit of scholarship be invoked to justify in terms of public policy.</p>
<p>Wright quips in his NAACP remarks, &#8216;When they [public schools] were  desegregated in Philadelphia, several of the white teachers in my school freaked  out.  Why?  Because black kids wouldn&#8217;t stay in their place.  Over there behind  the desk, black kids climbed up all on them.&#8217;<br />
In other words, since their  brains process information differently, it is unacceptable to expect Black  people to abide by the same set of expectations White folks are expected to  adhere to.  Why, how dare you expect order in the hallways of America&#8217;s inner  city public schools!!!  You&#8217;re a racist if you expect Black children to sit  there and conduct themselves in a disciplined and studious manner.</p>
<p>Think I am exaggerating?  Both the American Enterprise and Washington Post  Magazines have run stories in the past where White teachers were categorized as  racist for not having a big smile plastered across their faces about minority  children labeled as learning disabled rampaging as they wished in the classrooms  of these respective teachers.</p>
<p>Where does this line of reasoning end?  If it is discovered that Blacks have  a more difficult time curtailing the compulsions driving one towards  reproduction, does that mean we are just suppose to keep handing out the welfare  checks and Food Stamps without nary a word of rebuke about the moral decay  gripping our nation where the unmarried don’t simply have one child outside of  marriage and learn from their mistake but irresponsibly continue having one  child after the other without a trip to the altar?</p>
<p>If it is proved that the “Black brain” has a greater propensity towards  violence, does that mean we may not condemn the warlike conditions plaguing our  city streets?  If one takes Black liberation theology to its logical conclusion,  even if Jeremiah Wright won’t admit to it publicly, according to this warped  worldview it might not even be wrong to put a bullet in Whitey’s head and take  his property; some might even call it an act of love or (as Jeremiah Wright said  in his NAACP remarks) “just different”.</p>
<p>In the history of Communism, Marx is remembered as the thinker providing much  of that philosophy’s theoretical basis whereas Lenin was the politician who  implemented these doctrines into an actual political situation with slight  adaptations.  Likewise, Jeremiah Wright contributes significantly to the  ideological foundation that Barack Obama would build upon whether the candidate  is willing to admit to it or not.</p>
