The 2012 Check List for America’s Survival
Many people make resolutions to start the year, but I think a list of things that must be done to protect and preserve the Republic should be tallied.
1. President Obama must be defeated in 2012 and the obstructionist Democratic Party must lose power in the Senate to ensure both houses of Congress will be Republican and in a position to initiate real change.
The “Save Obama’s Job” bill
In keeping with his policy of relaxing the administration’s grasp on reality, at the time of the speech there was no ‘Save Obama’s Job’ bill for Congress to pass, because nothing had been introduced. And just like the Congressional Budget Office does not estimate Obama speeches, the House does not pass speeches. It only endures them.
Aviation justice and the debt ceiling
Obama’s thinking has not evolved to the point where he wants to employ drone strikes on corporate jets, but he does want to end a tax break for jet owners as part of the negotiations surrounding a legislative package to raise the US debt ceiling from its current level of “extremely heavy” to the new level of “crush you and your grandchildren.”
End the ethanol subsidies
The subsidies and tariffs only fatten profit margins, reduce competition, increase consumer prices, cause frayed relations with Brazil over barriers to its sugar-cane ethanol entering US markets, and stifle technological innovation that could improve production efficiencies and lessen environmental impacts.
GOP Senate hopefuls offer new ideas for 2011
By Deroy Murdock
Whether or not the GOP wins the U.S. Senate, several Republican contenders for the World’s Greatest Deliberative Body hope to promote some rather unique proposals. Republicans are running on such ideas as repealing ObamaCare, curbing federal spending, and making permanent the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. Those are all fine concepts, but several candidates have gone beyond the old perennials to promote good, less-familiar ideas.
