GOP Counting On The “ABO” Vote

obama-pigsI’m past ready for a candidate with fire in his or her belly. In my less than humble opinion, the GOP needs a candidate who will get into the gutter where the democrats seem always to take their campaigns. We need a candidate who will trade blow for blow with the Democratic Party candidate — a candidate who will go for the jugular, grasp the throat of the opposition and hang on ‘til the election is won.

Conservatives Get Stupid, Again

election-2012-2What a let down. Here conservative Republicans were so close to respectability and even acceptance in polite society. In Prince William County, VA where I live,  conservatives convinced themselves we’d come far from that time in the recent past when the WaPost described evangelicals (essentially another word for conservative Republicans, since there is considerable overlap among the two demographic groups) as “poor, undereducated and easily led.”

Republicans Attempt to Change a Light Bulb

lightbulbI don’t know precisely how many Republicans it takes to change a light bulb, but I can tell you that 289 are evidently not enough. That’s how many Republicans are in the House and Senate, yet they can’t accomplish a relatively simple task and repeal the ban on incandescent bulbs that went into effect January 1st.

Republicans ARE Discouraging Voter Turnout

election-2012-3It’s a dream come true for hysterical liberals and their fellow travelers in the ‘unbiased’ media. Pesky Republicans ARE actively working to discourage voter turnout in the 2012 Presidential election!

Sensible Systematic Candidate Selection

election-2012-3Once you make that determination, go all in. Support your candidate. Remember, however, that once the primaries are over and one candidate has prevailed, he may or may not be your first choice. If your candidate fails to win the nomination, don’t be a “sour grapes” voter and sit out the general election. Your second, third or even fourth choice in the primary still probably represents your interests and values better than the opposition in the general election.

Getting In Line

invasionWhy are the GOP frontrunners talking about “getting in line,” for the forty million Mexican nationals who have invaded America, in an active bid of annexation of American territory by Mexico, called “La Reconquista?”

If Not Romney, Who?

RomneyGenerally overlooked in the midst of the many debates and the usual competition between Republican candidates for the Party’s nomination is the fact that a rather impressive number have thrown their hats in the ring. It is testimony to the health, depth, and diversity of the Party. Compare that with the Democratic Party’s lone candidate, a President already ceded the title of worst ever.

What We Have Here is a Failure to Negotiate

capitol4In the movie, “Cool Hand Luke” the warden of a prison camp utters the now famous line, “What we have here is a failure to communicate.” The decision of the Democratic members of the Congressional Super Committee to refuse further discussion of revenue issues is a failure to negotiate.

This Toll Tolls for You

tollbothA better solution to transportation funding is for Republicans to lead from the front and increase the gas tax and make it a percentage instead of a fixed amount. If conservatives in state and local government can’t persuade voters that paying for highways is a core function of government then we won’t ever be able to persuade voters to stop wasting money on non–core functions.

Gov. Perry, Welcome to Your Past

election-2012Recently I was watching a rerun of ‘Booknotes’ with Gertrude Himmelfarb — now a respected historian and neo–conservative, but in her youth a Trotskyite, which — for those of you suffering from recent history instruction in public schools — is a variety of Communist. When asked how she made the ideological journey from Trotsky to Reagan, it warmed my heart when explained that she was always a pretty conservative Trotskyite.]

Obama gets his debt ceiling raised – GOP gets PROMISES!

gop-deadIs there a “stupid” gene we republicans have that democrats don’t? Are we born with a warped DNA that, somehow, forces us to fall for the oldest democrat trick in the book time, after time, after time? Are republicans “hard-wired” to play the fool at the democrats beckoning?

Is the Debt Ceiling Showdown REALLY a Repeat of Gingrich/Clinton?

showdown2There are some on the right – Mitch McConnell chief amongst them – who fear that the GOP’s stance on principle against debt and taxes will backlash against them politically. They are willing to compromise so they appear to be “reasonable”, and willing to work with the Democrats, as they capitulate to the further destruction of the American economy and to Obama’s “Fundamental Transformation” of who and what we are as a nation.

Aviation justice and the debt ceiling

debt2Obama’s thinking has not evolved to the point where he wants to employ drone strikes on corporate jets, but he does want to end a tax break for jet owners as part of the negotiations surrounding a legislative package to raise the US debt ceiling from its current level of “extremely heavy” to the new level of “crush you and your grandchildren.”

Gov. McDonnell Demonstrates Resolve

McDonnellBy Michael R. Shannon
Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell provided state and national Republicans with a useful and timely lesson in leadership when he vetoed the redistricting bill last week. Complaints emanating from disgruntled Republican House of Delegates members regarding the veto only serve to highlight their failure to pay attention and exercise leadership on their own behalf.

Contracts Are Made to Be Broken

teaparty-1By Michael R. Shannon
Conservatives and Tea party voters now know the discount rate on Boehner–led Republican promises is in the neighborhood of 62 percent. This means if Speaker Boehner promises to cut $100 billion from an Obama spending spree while running for office in November, you are going to get no more than $38 billion when he’s actually in power in April.

Elephant in the House

gop-suicideRepublicans have failed to realize that true “welfare reform” means the end to all foreign aid and the end of a debt-based banking system, which all but ensures that the American people will continue to live in poverty and slavery to the international bankers forever.

America DOES Need A New President. Only … Its NOT ROMNEY!

no-romneyMitt Romney was in New Hampshire over the weekend shining his image as he endeavors to capture the republican nomination as the candidate for President of the United States. Problem is – conservatives, whose numbers basically control the nominating process; don’t want any part of Romney.

Tea Party? What Tea Party?

teaparties-independence-dayLast November the Tea Party supported GOP candidates because Republicans were the most conservative major party option available. A few more votes like this and there is a real chance the Tea Party will decide to field its own candidates for office. This will split the Republican/conservative vote …

You Can’t Be a Little Bit “Private”

red-light-camsYou can’t be a little bit private any more than you can be a little bit pregnant. The concept is part and parcel of the left’s assault on the family, Christian values and the unborn. Which is why “privacy” is the last argument that conservatives should ever use to justify passing or repealing a law.

Gingrich Conniving, Obama Shrugging & Baldwin Auditing

Gingrich2Newt Gingrich is conniving to pass a law essentially allowing a state to declare bankruptcy in order to get out of paying pension benefits to retirees. Before it ever went into affect, the former Speaker should be compelled to renounce every last penny and future benefits accruing to his name as a result of his tenure in the House of Representatives.

How an Average Blogger Upset a Sitting Congressman (Part 2)

billy-longThere is this truth in life. Ignore it and it will go away. Feed it energy, and it will grow into something that could haunt you. Billy Long, with all his barn-yard wisdom used to produce clever sound bites that never say much but sound good. I never subscribed to this truth.

Republicans Should Vote NO On Bush Tax Cut Extension Bill

no-2The GOP should stop this monstrosity right now, today, and then introduce a clean bill extending the Bush tax cuts as their first order of business in the new Congress in January and make that bill retroactive to December 31st, 2010. That would solve the tax cut extension problem without all the “sub rosa” stimulus garbage the Senate has hung onto the current bill.

New Congress To Do List

impeachA total of 48 percent of those voters viewed their choice as a positive vote for Republicans, but 45 percent said their vote was not a vote for the GOP, but rather a negative vote against Obama and the Democrats. It should be glaringly obvious to House leaders that a party unable generate a majority of supporters among its own voters, is a party that is on probation.

“Restraining Order” Served on Obama Regime By The American People

The Tea Party understands, perhaps better than most, the danger facing America and they understand that America’s salvation as a free country is the founding document, the US Constitution and underlying everything they do is the demand that the US government follow the constitution. And for that they are called “wackos!”
