Environmentalism as a surrogate religion

It may be “secular,” but environmentalism makes “Mother Earth” its object of special devotion.

By Dr. Thomas P. Sheahen

As we reflect on Earth Day 2011 (April 22) and on passionate appeals that we support environmental initiatives almost too numerous to count, we should also reflect on a fundamental new reality.

Environmentalism has replaced religion for many of its adherents.

The ending “-ism” denotes a way of thinking, perceiving and structuring one’s life. Every “ism” is based on underlying assumptions, principles and beliefs that tell its adherents what they ought to believe and do. Providing ethical guidance for its members is a major part of what an “-ism” does.

Followers of Judaism who observe Passover as their ancestors’ liberation from slavery in Egypt – and Christians who commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ at Easter – have no problem acknowledging that these are matters of belief.

They would never claim that science provides absolute proof of authenticity – although many find in science valuable support for the validity of their beliefs. Those who can see an underlying compatibility between science and religious faith are comfortable in both realms.

Environmentalism likewise provides ethical guidance. But its followers generally recoil from the suggestion that it’s a religion. The traditional buildings and rituals are absent; moreover, many adherents come from a background of explicitly rejecting “institutional” religions. Nevertheless, a careful examination of the basic assumptions shows that environmentalism indeed meets the criteria of a secular religion.

In environmentalism, “Mother Earth” (Gaia the Earth Goddess) replaces God as the object of special devotion, causing some of environmentalism’s subsequent assertions to be in direct opposition to fundamental teachings of Christianity and Judaism. Another cornerstone belief is that mankind is just one species among many; this view opposes the Judeo-Christian belief that God considers mankind to be very special.

Science appears to play a major role in environmentalism, but actually its role is distinctly secondary: Science is used subjectively, not objectively. After a set of beliefs has been established, various fields of science (and scholarly studies within those fields), are carefully sifted to select facts that support those beliefs. Facts and scientific fields that contravene or fail to support core beliefs are rejected or ignored.

That’s not the way science is supposed to work. However, it happens every day in environmentalism, as reflected in movies, magazines, blogs, television programs, newspapers – and legislative and regulatory initiatives.

In his excellent book, “The New Holy Wars: Economic Religion vs. Environmental Religion in Contemporary America,” Professor Robert H. Nelson likens the contemporary struggle between those two secular religions to John Calvin’s struggle against the establishment of Catholicism 500 years ago.

Nelson’s book concludes: “It is time to take secular religion seriously. It is real religion. In the twentieth century, it showed greater energy, won more converts, and had more impact on the western world than the traditional, institutional forms of Christianity.”

For the believing environmentalist, there is a certain “Garden of Eden” narrative: the beginning of evil came with the development of agriculture, when mankind rose above hunter-gatherer status and began to control and improve on nature to meet his needs. Thereafter came civilization and all its negative environmental effects and associations. The whole story hangs together within a religious framework.

In America today, the religion of environmentalism has the distinct advantage of being taught in the public schools, and receiving plentiful government funding. Some of its beliefs are fairly benign, such as sympathy for polar bear cubs. But other beliefs have had horrible consequences.

The chemical spray DDT is a powerful weapon against malaria. It wiped the disease out in the developed world. Sprayed on walls, DDT acts for six months or more with a single application, keeping mosquitoes out of homes, preventing them from biting, and killing any that land.

However, environmental activism and incorrect scientific interpretations led politicians to believe DDT harmed birds and fish, and the insecticide was banned in the United States in 1972. Since then, it has been largely purged from the disease control arsenal worldwide, even though malaria still infects a billion people in poor countries every year, killing up to one million.

Today, many environmentalists view the alleged dangers of using DDT as being worse than the misery and death caused by the disease. Since 1972, at least 20 million African children have died from malaria.

Throwing trash out of your car window is considered a sin by environmentalism. In other religions, allowing the preventable death of millions of children is a far greater sin.

This year Easter, Passover and Earth Day all came close together. Now may be a good time to ask whether environmentalism can be reconciled with traditional religions.

Most religious people who believe in God as Christians or Jews also want to protect the environment. They see ecological stewardship as part of their responsibility to God.

Indeed, that is the message of another excellent book, “Environmental Stewardship in the Judeo-Christian Tradition.” Published by the Acton Institute a decade ago, it is a brief collection of essays by Protestant, Jewish and Catholic scholars who have pondered how and why their own faith embraces care for God’s creation.

In all cases, these authors root their arguments in Scripture, abetted by an understanding of modern science. They stress that the word “dominion” used in the Bible does not mean people have a right to wreck the planet. Rather, it means mankind is a partner chosen by God to be a responsible steward of creation.

Emphatically, these Christian and Jewish authors do not regard mankind as just “one species among many.” And they don’t confuse “mother earth” with God.

D. Longstreet

Today is Good Friday. Traditionally the Day Christ was crucified. Today is also Earth Day. It is a date set aside to worship the earth (paganism). Today is also the birthday of Vladimir Lenin, (April 22nd 1870). Lenin was a Russian Marxist revolutionary, author, lawyer, economic theorist, and political philosopher among other things. Lenin created the Soviet Communist Party.

We agree with the folks at “TheBlogProf” who say: “It is no coincidence that Earth Day, April 22, was chosen to coincide with the birthday of Vladimir Lenin. A day that celebrates communism as the gold standard of human civilization. Never mind that it has never worked as advertised, creating disorder rather than order. Environmentalism, the religion du jour of the 21st century, has very similar ends of government control under the guise of being good stewards of the planet.” (We recommend you read the entire article HERE.)

Please note how the writer at TheBlogProf refers to environmentalism:

“Environmentalism, the religion du jour of the 21st century … ”

In our opinion, the writer is dead on. Environmentalism has become a full-fledged religion.

As I have said before: we have a hodge-podge of religions is America. Having said that, we have to admit that some are uplifting while others are, well, just plain goofy.

I learned early on in my education that one of the most interesting discoveries, made by anthropologists, is that the human animal will, somehow, create a religion – or religions. Scientists tell us the human animal must have belief in something that gives meaning to his, or her, existence. We human animals long for a power greater than our own. It seems to come in our wiring. I happen to believe that is true.

If I may be allowed to explain: If one believes in the divine creator, as I do, then one believes the human animal was created by that divine creator referred to simply as God. Just as a child will long for his parents I believe humans long for their parent – God. Seems to me, that is an explanation for the longing man has for a divine being and leads him to create an “idol” of practically anything that will provide him a focus point for that parent he instinctively knows is there — yet remains unseen.

I am not a theologian. But, I must tell you I think my explanation for man’s endeavor to close the gap between man an God, existent since the Garden of Eden, is as good as any. Christians will tell you that Christ, God’s Son, came to this earth and closed that gap 2,000 years ago. He was perceived by the corrupt government of his day as a threat and, as a result, he was executed. Christians believe that three days later he rose from the dead and returned home but not before promising to return and clean up the mess we have made.

That was around 2,000 years ago. Things have changed for the worst. In this century, and the last, so many have turned from the worship of a supreme being, we call God, to what we used to call “paganism”… the worship of nature, or the environment, or… more specifically… Environmentalism.

Yes, Environmentalism HAS become a religion. Well, actually, it always was, it has just come back into favor in the past 100 years, or so.

One thing I want to set straight before continuing, nature is not God. It is my belief that GOD created nature. Now, we can continue.

Michael Crichton, in his “Environmentalism as Religion” remarks made before the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco in 2003, summed it all up rather nicely, I think:

“The believers in environmentalism believe and preach that we should live in unity with nature, or the environment. They believe that in the beginning we did. They believe that we are now living in sin because we have polluted the earth. We will be visited with a judgment day and the judgment will be death, for the whole planet, unless we repent, (which means to turn around and go the other way) and make our way back to sustainability. You see, in the environmentalism religion, sustainability IS salvation.”” … Michael Crichton. See Crichton’s remarks here: HERE.

The environmental religionists are calling for us to repent. We are doomed, they say, as a result of pollution, global warming, running out of oil, the whole list of tribulations the environmentalist faithful are so sure are coming.

They believe that man and nature should co-exist in one accord. Humans have never done that. Why … because it is impossible. Man has always been at nature’s mercy. Nature is unforgiving. Nature will kill you in a split second! The evidence is all around me as I sit here writing in North Carolina where we were ravaged just last weekend by an assault force of tornadoes killing scores and damaging property that will take decades to repair, if ever.

Today, we have all the preachers of the Church of Environmentalism, preaching at us non-stop. They preach fear. They preach gloom and doom. They preach forsaking progress and returning to the days when man lived in harmony with nature, even though no such period ever existed in the history of mankind.

Many feel that inside that outer shell of green, the environmentalists so proudly wear, is the red of communism. Like a watermelon, on the outside it is green. Conversely, on the inside it is red. And therein lies the connection with Earth Day’s observance on the birthday of Vladimir Lenin one of the founders of communism.

The environmental movement is in direct conflict with the Christian religion and, in our opinion; Christians should stir clear of any involvement with the greenies, the “useful idiots” of the Marxists and communists, intent on the destruction of all those rights granted to man by God.

Earth Day is a pagan celebration, and I want no part in it.

Olympics Subtly Lure Tots Into Paganism’s Embrace

Over the past decade and a half or thereabouts, I have published occasional columns pointing out that there is more going on in terms of worldview at the Olympic games than good sportsmanship and keeping a stoic outlook no matter how disappointed one might be at the outcome of a particular event. These worldviews often come closest to public light in commemorations surrounding the games such as the opening or closing ceremonies.

For example, in an audio commentary I noted the blatant paganism at the 2006 games in Greece where the ancient gods were not so much depicted as curiosities of mankind’s religious history with the possibility of a few moral axioms derivable occasionally from these myths when approached as literature. Rather, adoration of these entities was approached as a viable system of belief around which humanity could draw ongoing sustain inspiration moving the world towards cultural unification.

For the most part, such ideological manipulation was aimed largely at a generalized audience irrespective of age. Now it seems Olympic organizers may have more carefully targeted their indoctrination efforts towards children.

During each Olympiad, mascots are created as appealing embodiments of each unique set of games. For example, the 1984 Olympics held in Los Angeles were represented by Sam the Olympian, a bald eagle clad in red, white, and blue which alluded to Uncle Same and the highest ideals of the American people.

It has been a quarter of a century since then and the practice continues. It is doubtful, though, parents with a lick of sense about them will be as enthusiastic about what is being pushed now as adorable imaginative companions.

The first outrage is really more economic than anything else. Though cluttered over with all the nauseating sentiments about international cooperation and competition being the focal point of the games, ultimately under the banner of these spectacles, significant amounts of money changes hands.

No doubt, nice checks went to the firms and/or artists creating the mascots of the Vancouver games. What the artists this time deserve are gold metals for the least amount work possible going into the artistic rendering of an Olympiad’s mascots.

For example, Sam the Olympian was rendered with the skill, precision, and appeal for which 20th century Disney characters were noted and adored for by the public. One does not need to go into a lengthy backstory to figure out what Sam the Eagle is and what he stands for.

This is not the case of the mascots of the Vancouver winter Olympics. In fact, the firm that designed the characters should have been paid no more for these rendering than one would a doodler in a high school art class. In the high school art class I was enrolled in, one would have received a grade not much above passing had one handed in something looking as ridiculous and simplistic.

What becomes really questionable, however, is in regards to what the mascots represent. The following comes not from conservative or even Christian fundamentalist conspiracy theorists, but rather from the Wikipedia entry for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paraolympic Games mascots.

Of the trio, the most realistic is a Sasquatch named “Quatchi”. That isn’t too bad as for decades as the Sasquatch or Bigfoot has been a cryptozoological celebrity of the Pacific Northwest.

However, it today’s world, it’s never enough to let characters be huggable and adorable in and of themselves. Why waste an opportunity to manipulate young minds away from the values decent parents are trying to inoculate into their children?

Those that look closer at Quatchi will notice that there is a tattoo on his bicep. With over a third of the population mutilated and defaced in this fashion, do children of the world really need additional peer pressure as to this questionable form of bodily ornamentation?

The free spirit who are of a live-and-let-live mindset regarding every questionable practice with the exception of questioning the live-and-let-live mindset will respond, “Why are you fuddiduddies making such a production out of a simple tattoo that no one is going to notice?”

Oh really? If the bio-graffiti was not going to be noticed by spectators, the why did the artist take the time to add this particular design element? It takes so long to produce a finished artistic work that has to go through multiple editorial reviews that it is doubtful that any detail would be overlooked. And if the marking is not there for any particular reason, then why does it need to be there at all?

However, a tattoo strategically placed upon a mascot is not the only aspect about these characters designed to subconsciously lead Western children away from the values of their forefathers. For even though the games are presented as belonging to the world, only Westerners of a multiculturalist inclination would be deluded into thinking that Westerners wouldn’t be the only ones with enough leisure time to soak up the ambiance of the games as well as enough disposable income for all of the assorted trinkets pushed at spectators. After all, though they might excel at warm weather sports such as running, sub-Saharan Africans aren’t exactly renowned for their alacrity to ice and snow.

The other mascot of the Olympics Proper is Miga, a mystical sea bear that is part orca and part kermode bear. In other words, unless the poor creature is languishing in a laboratory somewhere, which one shouldn’t put past some deranged geneticist just for the Sheol of it these days, it doesn’t exist.

Perhaps the most questionable mascot is Sumi. According to Wikipedia, Sumi is “an animal guardian spirit with the wins of a Thunderbird and the legs of a black bear who wears the hat of an orca whale.” In other words, it is a mishmashed critter that likes to cross dress.

Though there are numerous jokes that could be made about these two, the important issue is the role guardian spirits and orcas that transform into white bears play in American Indian mythology and belief systems. From as much hoopla that is being made about so-called “native populations” of the Pacific Northwest, one would assume that not Whites lived there or at least ones that did not go around with their shoulders slouched and their heads hunched for simply being White. Since Whites pay taxes too and are less likely to be on the public dole, shouldn’t they get some kind of honorable mention for contributing to the culture or at least the economy of the area?

Olympic organizers are no doubt playing up the animistic belief of the area’s history for the very same reason that the Athens Olympiad played up that culture’s pagan past. For the thing with the amorphous religiosity of the New Age movement under which both Greco-Roman paganism and American Indian shamanism both find acceptance is the idea that the realm of the spirit is coterminous with the physical world. As such, in this system, there can be no authority higher than the earthly institutions that embrace such a mindset.

As an antithetical perspective, monotheism cannot be countenanced since its God exists transcendent to the socio-physical order. God decrees what is and is not right and good. He does not take the findings of committees into consideration and as such the authority of any committee is circumscribed by Him.

This column should not be construed as a blanket condemnation of the imagination. For as a fan of speculative fiction myself, I don’t even hop on the anti-Harry Potter bandwagon with the unreserved enthusiasm demanded by many rigorous theologians and Bible scholars.

Rather, what is being called for here is a notion of epistemological equality. It is quite obvious that a mascot with a Christian or even Hebraic background or origins would not be put up with.

At the Copenhagen Global Warming Summitt, though the God of the Bible had the last laugh as He socked the proceedings with a blizzard, theophobes complained about evergreens planted in front of the conference center because some kook might misconstrue them as Christmas trees. The trees had to be removed in order to prevent any appearance of an endorsement of any particular religion at a UN function. Yet these very same environmental bureaucrats would support multiple layers of laws and regulations ranging all the way from international treaties down to the minutest municipal statutes that would prevent you from removing trees from your very own property.

Proponents of the Olympic games might claim the festival is all about friendly competition and the pursuit of athletic excellence. Realists will point out that it has just as much or even more to do with money and power.

At the global level, the boundaries between government and big business grow increasingly blurred. Thus, at some point in terms of either direct sponsorship or roundabout subsidies, taxpayers around the world are at some level financing the Olympic games out of their own pockets.

Often, even if there is minimal public money flowing into a government agency or even a private organization, these administrative entities must go out of their way to guarantee that they in no way exhibit any kind of preference for one religious system or spiritual belief over another. This standard is especially applied to Christianity.

Though initially founded as a celebration in adoration of heathen idols, theoretically the contemporary Olympic games could be held strictly as a secular competition in terms of philosophical neutrality if its administrators distanced the celebration from its questionable past and stuck to officiating races. Whatever path is decided upon, it will be a deliberate choice.

If those trusted with overseeing this event insist upon pursuing a manipulative mysticism, those redeemed by the one true God should first and foremost boldly warn what is rally going on beneath all the pageantry and excitement. Only then is the individual able to make a truly informed decision in keeping with their conscience.

Another Look at Environmentalism as a Religion

…Earth Day is Celebrated on Lenin’s Birthday

“It is no accident that April 22, Earth Day, is also the birth date of Vladimir Lenin, an acolyte of Karl Marx, the lunatic who invented communism as an alternative to capitalism.

Earth Day is naked communism.”

The above quote is by Alan Caruba from his article entitled: ‘The Naked Communism of Earth Day.” We urge you to click over to Alan’s site and read this very fine article. You will find it HERE.

Freedom to worship as you please is one of the hallmarks of, and rights guaranteed to, the citizens of the United States.

The Pilgrims came to the New World not to guarantee freedom of religion. No, they came to guarantee that THEY could worship, as THEY saw fit… not, necessarily, anyone else.

So we have a hodge-podge of religions is America. Some are uplifting and others are just plain goofy.

On of the discoveries, made by anthropologists, is that the human animal will, somehow, create a religion. It seems the human animal must have belief in something that gives meaning to his, or her, existence.

Many so-called atheists are worshippers of nature, or the environment. If one worships it… it is your god. Seems to me, those atheists are not true atheists. They DO have a god; only it is a pagan god, the environment.

Michael Crichton, in his “Environmentalism as Religion” remarks, made before the Commonwealth Club, in San Francisco in 2003, summed it all up.

You see, in the environmentalism religion, sustainability IS salvation.”” … Michael Crichton

See Crichton’s remarks here: HERE.

It is important to understand that, for the most part, those who would worship nature have never really experienced it.

Want to go camping? Out comes the insect spray, the mosquito netting, the snakebite kit, the calamine lotion, sunscreen, and on and on. The urban environmentalist tends to think of nature as something, with which, man can live in harmony. So far, that has never happened … in the history of mankind.

Animals eat other animals to stay alive. Then, of course, we humans, at the top of the food chain, eat the animals which ate the, you know, smaller animals. The weather is a constant threat to humans.

The harmony of nature and man is a myth. It has never been so. If you want to learn about nature, talk to a farmer, or a hunter. They know about nature. Most people don’t.

Most of us live in an insular world. We have created an oasis away from nature. Occasionally, we think we want to commune with nature so we take a road trip or a camping trip… and we take as much, or as many, of our amenities as we can cram in the SUV right along with us. If we actually come into contact with nature, it is by accident.

Man has always been at odds with nature. Nature is unforgiving. It will kill you in a split second.

So, the environmental religionists are calling for us to repent. We are doomed as a result of pollution, global warming, running out of oil, the whole list of tribulations the faithful are so sure are coming.

They have been wrong, so many times. Remember the ice age, which was to begin in the 1970’s? Where is it? It reminds me of the “nut” pacing the sidewalk with his “Repent, the world is coming to an end!” sign. When the world doesn’t end, he changes the date and keeps on pacing. The environmentalist simply changes the reason the world is coming to an end, and they keep on preaching doom and gloom.

You see, as with all religions, the environmentalist bases all these horrible things on faith. Yes, faith in his belief. He believes he is correct. It is his faith, his religion, and he will not be shaken.

So, we have all the preachers of the Church of Environmentalism, preaching at us none stop. They preach fear. They preach gloom and doom. They preach forsaking progress and returning to the days when man lived in harmony with nature, even though no such period ever existed in the history of mankind.

As a believer in one God, the Creator, I cannot buy into their religion. I believe that this planet, this ecosystem, if you will, was given to man, as his home, by the Creator. We are charged with being good stewards of our home. But, when we take such good care of it that we come to worship it, we have sinned and fallen short. And that, Dear Reader, is wrong!

To protect our home, the earth, we need to use hard science, not some knee jerk reactionism. We need to rely upon our common sense. To think that man, himself, can destroy the earth is laughable. It is the height of arrogance. The earth can wipe humankind out in a moment, in the blinking of an eye. Like a dog shaking it’s wet coat and flinging water droplets hither and thither, the earth could rid itself of it’s temporary visitors at anytime.

No, it’s time for clear thinking people to step back and take a serious look at the claims the fundamentalist preachers of environmentalism are making. Check the science, not the pop science, but hard science. There is where their claims will be proven, or dis-proven and hopefully discarded.

In the meantime, for those who profess to believe in nature’s God, the scriptures tell us that man cannot serve two masters. You cannot subscribe to the faith of environmentalism and maintain your faith in the God of, and the creator of, nature. You will serve one and forsake the other. Which will it be?

Earth Day… a Celebration of the New Paganism

We are about to witness a worldwide pagan rite – the worship of the earth, the worship of Gaia, (Earth Mother). Earth Day is the worship of nature — rather than Nature’s God.

Though touted as, somehow, NEW, worship of the earth is likely the oldest religion on earth. Born of child-like ignorance, it has survived centuries and is, once again, robust and thriving among those people of earth who have lost their way and have reclaimed this form of paganism at the risk of their eternal souls.

I must tell you, I question whether one who subscribes to the Christian faith can take part in a pagan rite without committing sin. The Earth Day celebration is, in my opinion, a pagan rite. Celebrants of paganism can only be in league with the forces of evil.

But here we are, this week, celebrating the annual, global, orgasmic, daisy chain of paganism — Earth Day.

Paganism will be on display over the next several days. It is reminiscent of the days before civilization took root and the human animal began its assent from the caves and mud huts.

Over the past few centuries, and especially in the mid 20th century, those elements of socialistic societies, which remained, came to realize their days were numbered — unless they could contrive a different way of bringing humanity under control. They fell back on that thing which has ALWAYS worked, at least temporarily, in the past… and that is ignorance and fear — ignorance of the truth and fear of the imagined threat, or threats.

Even in the 21st century man is still, basically, controlled by fear. The fear of an imagined natural threat frightens man to his or her core. The destruction of one’s home is always at the forefront of man’s innate fear. Since the planet earth is the home of the human race, any threat to it, is the most feared of all.

If the “enlightened” socialist among us wished to control the masses of humanity (and they did — and do!) they had to play upon that fear among the peoples of the earth. The fear that their homes were being destroyed, and to rouse the anger in those frightened human beings, they were indoctrinated to believe that it was other humans who were destroying their home.

Most of us are not scientists. Most of us know only as much science as is necessary for us to live productive lives. We leave science to the scientists.

As our educational systems have devolved into degraded teaching institutions… teaching just enough… and demanding the students learn just enough… to guarantee the institution continues to received public funding, the level of education about real science has all but disappeared from our curricula. Even where it is still taught, it has been broken down to the level of the lowest performing student in the class. As a result, we have a world citizenry functionally ignorant of basic science.

Couple the decline of our educational systems, world wide, with the divestiture by “The Church” of its duty to teach the one true God — and the stage is set.

Enter the Environmental Movement and their “new” religion. It is a religion as old as the earth itself… but new to the undereducated masses of the planet today. We used to openly refer to it as “Paganism.” The Christian Church used to send missionaries to countries, which still practiced paganism. Now that is reversed and we are sending “missionaries OF paganism” all over the world.

Our forsaking the worship of “the creator” in favor of the worship of “the created” is a cycle as old as man himself. And once again, we have circled back to the religion of our caveman ancestors.

The latest denomination in the church of Paganism is the Global Warming movement or Climate Change movement.

I look on in wonder, as my fellow human beings are sucked into this worldwide hoax. I marvel, in wonder, at the combination of arrogance and ignorance, which leads one to rely on a false doctrine such as that of the Global Warming Movement.

An oligarchy is the rule of the many by the few. That is the brief explanation of oligarchy. The global warming movement, and indeed, the environmental movement fits the classic example of an oligarchy. Someone, somewhere, is pulling the strings, which will lead the people of this planet back into the New Dark Ages.

Why?

Why does man ever wish to control other men? Power. When one dares to peer beneath the surface, and behind the façade, of the Global Warming/Climate Change movement, the latest off-spring of the Environmental Movement, one quickly sees the hand pulling the strings of the puppets who gallivant all over the globe hawking the wares of fear and ignorance.

It is all for control of the masses. It is all for the emplacement of a new feudal system. The overlords of humanity will reign, as they always do, by fear and intimidation. The fear that the world is going to burn up in a blaze of heat only to be overcome by the ocean’s flooding of the coastal regions, where most humans choose to live, wiping out every living thing… is the motivating force.

This is The Gospel of the environmental movement, the environmental religion, and The Church of Global Warming.

Modern man is latching on to the self-proclaimed saviors, as we always have, to save us from the coming disaster. Most never question the validity of the “coming disaster.” Those few of us who do are the infidels.

Count me among the infidels! I still cling to the First Commandment given mankind by the original, and only, God. For those of you not up on the “Old Religion”… it is: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me….”

The Advent of a One-World Religion: Paganism!

Two years ago, in December of 2007, I wrote an article entitled: “Environmentalism is a Religion.” It turned out to be more on target than even I suspected. With the Environuts, and enviro-police, and the seekers after absolute power over the earth by the institution of a one-world government (known these days by the flowery title of Global Governance) gathered in Copenhagen, for another attempt at yoking the planet with the pagan religion of “earth worship,” it seemed to me that today would be a good time to revisit the Environmentalism as a religion concern once again.

As I viewed the gathering of priests of the new/old pagan religion in Copenhagen, I thought to myself, nothing much has changed over the last several thousands of years. Men still seek power over their fellow man and they still use fear to acquire it and even more fear to hold onto it. The Copenhagen meeting is simply a way of inducing fear, at a deeper level, into humanity and using that fear to control all the peoples of the earth.

As I viewed news reports coming out of Copenhagen a piece of scripture from the New Testament of the Bible, written by Saint Paul in a letter to newly minted Christians in Ephesus, maybe a couple of thousand years ago, floated to the surface of my consciousness: “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12) I thought just how apropos that verse of scripture is when applied to modern times both in America and the entire world. “Spiritual Wickedness in high places” could have been written today to describe the gaggle of Czars in the Obama Regime right here in America.

There is a sickness abroad in the land – and on the planet. I refer to the attempt at the enslavement of all mankind. Global Governance is likely the most important part of the Copenhagen Treaty. We’re talking a single governing body to oversee the entire planet. This would be a non-elected body of men, and/or women, who would, in effect, rule the earth. If you control the earth’s energy, and energy sources, you control the earth – ALL the earth! At least they intend to try. You and I know it can’t be done, but blinded by their own lust for power THEY believe IT CAN BE DONE and THEY can do it. You must understand, these are people who believe themselves to be “the best and brightest” of the earth — and they, and only they, know what is best for the people of earth. These people are truly “the malignant ones” straight out of the darkness of evil and degradation.

The ancient Psalmist says: “The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear.” (Psalm 58:3-4)

Even with the release of the hacked e-mails of ClimateGate, millions simply refuse to believe the proof of the worldwide hoax of Global Warming even when it is placed right in front of their eyes. As the Psalmist described, they have “stopped their ears.” Yes, the old adage: “There are none so blind as those who will not see” must be applied to all the millions who doggedly hang on to a disgraced, phony, religion seeking salvation through their works toward saving the planet.

Back in 2003, Michael Crichton pointed out how common sense was being violated by research we have been assured shows that human activity is causing the Earth’s climate to warm and that this warming cannot be reversed. Crichton said the following: “Nobody believes a weather prediction 12 hours ahead. Now we’re asked to believe a prediction that goes 100 years into the future? And make financial investments based on that prediction? Has everyone lost their minds?”

They have not lost their minds. This is, as a friend said recently, “willful ignorance.” They do not want to know the truth for they fear the truth. Lies serve the purpose of those in the hierarchy of this new/old pagan religion. Truth does not.

Even though reports out of Copenhagen seem to indicate their plans are falling apart there, we Americans have every bit as dire a problem looming on the political horizon in the White House and Congress. I refer, of course, to Obama’s “Cap and Trade Bill. The provisions of the bill, we now know, are based on skewed science; some even refer to it as fraudulent science. Nevertheless, the President, and his minions in the Congress, intend to ram that bill through Congress and, in doing so, will cause the lay offs of millions of American working men and women in the coal business and other fuel producing industries, and the increase of the price of fuel to heat our homes, offices, and businesses, and prepare our food and operate our automobiles. When the “cost of doing business” increases, businesses will have no choice but to lay off employees within their respective businesses, as well. EVERYONE in America will be drastically affected. Prices on literally everything will increase, rapidly, to unbelievable levels. At the same time, the Cap and Trade Bill will create instant “Carbon Millionaires” not unlike some former politicians who have set up carbon companies.

Cap and Trade must not be allowed to pass the Congress and be signed into law by the President. If the socialists, Marxists and communists in control of the American government today have their way the economy of the United States will be dealt a blow we may never be able to recover from. Thus, American will join the long list of “Has Been Nations” as well as the list of “Third World Nations,” And that is exactly what the Copenhagen Treaty intends. The jealous third nations are determined to “stick it to” America by transferring as much of America’s wealth to, who else – THEM. Yes, it is pure socialism. Between the Copenhagen Treaty and the US’s own Cap and Trade Bill, America will be economically destroyed and greatly weakened, making us a prime target for any malcontent nation or group looking to emasculate and humiliate America on the world stage.

Cap and Trade is a sinister bill and must be stopped. Like jackals the representatives of the various governments and organizations continue to spout their socialist, Marxist, and yes, even communist slogans and goals and as they parade and preen before the world’s news organizations resembling nothing less than zoo animals on display sans the bars.

Men and women of conscious must stand against them. It has now become a matter of life and death, at least to a number of nations.

We must begin fighting back today — and pray God we are not too late to save America!

it is a travesty that we can’t … . Our observing system is inadequate.
- Scientist at University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit

On Thursday. Nov. 19 a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (CRU) and released 160 megabytes of confidential files onto the Internet – including 1,079 emails and 72 documents.

Over the past 10 days, those materials have now been posted all over the Internet and reveal what most rational people have thought all along – that anthropogenic (man caused) global warming is perhaps the biggest scientific hoax in the past 150 years, or since publication of Charles Darwin’s treatise on evolution, “The Origin of Species” (1859).

Last Tuesday, radio host Rush Limbaugh, in his commentary on the recent climate change scandal, put this outrage in a bigger context he referred to as the “four corners of deceit” which consist of: government, academia, science and media.

This theory is placed in the paradigm of two worldviews that have warred against each other since antiquity – Veritas vs. Infidus – a worldview based on Truth vs. a worldview based on the Big Lie.

Liberalism with its multiplicity of manifestations – paganism, humanism, Enlightenment, Darwinism, progressivism, Marxism, socialism, fascism, communism, naturalism, Nazism, Statism, Obamaism – is all part of the same existential Big Lie.

Writer James Delingpole said of the climate change hoax:

“Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.”

One of the alleged e-mails has a gentle gloat over the death in 2004 of John L. Daly (one of the first climate change skeptics and founder of the Still Waiting For Greenhouse site), commenting:

“In an odd way this is cheering news.”

But perhaps the most damaging revelations – the scientific equivalent of the Telegraph’s MPs’ expenses scandal – are those concerning the way Warmist scientists may variously have manipulated or suppressed evidence in order to support their cause.

Just as 150 years ago the academic world replaced scientific skepticism with cult devotion, holding naturalist Charles Darwin’s work as the greatest scientific discovery since Newton and deified his suppositions as beyond questioning, so have we in modern times through the New World Order and socialism worship at the pagan altar of global warming (“climate change”).

We allow this Groupthink, despite the existence of irrefutable proof from these phony scientists’ own e-mails that all of their scientific data was a fraud perpetrated to get government grants, to further the “green movement” and to “save the planet.”

With this voluminous amount of materials now public regarding this climate change scam, what has the Stalinist-controlled media done over the past 10 days since this story broke? Absolutely nothing.

The New York Times is reluctant to give any substantive coverage because the hackers violated the scientists’ “privacy” in obtaining the incriminating materials.

The only substantive analysis about this story to date has been on Fox News, the alternative media and on conservative talk radio.

Socialists, liberals and progressives feel entitled to lie, steal, cheat and even kill to further their agenda at all costs. Why? Because it is done all in the name of a moral cause greater than ourselves; whether we are talking about saving the polar bear, the spotted owl, snail darter, saving the planet, reducing greenhouse-gas emissions, or upholding the unchallengeable secular principles of science, as Machiavelli stated:

“The end justifies the means.”

And what does our exalted leader, President Barack Obama, have to say about this? Well, Obama boldly proclaimed that the world has moved “one step closer” to a “strong operational agreement” on climate change at next month’s Copenhagen summit. Countries must “reach a strong operational agreement that will confront the threat of climate change while serving as a stepping-stone to a legally binding treaty,” he told a press conference with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

I thought to myself, is this guy crazy? Is Obama on drugs? Is Obama that insulated from reality that 5 days after the greatest international scandal in science was exposed since Darwinian evolution 150 years ago, Obama doesn’t express outrage that the scientists and scientific data behind the climate change/green movement is all a Big Lie? Moreover, he displays his arrogance even more by redoubling his efforts to cram this climate change fascism down the throats of the American people. Efforts the anti-climate change scientists have shown will return our technology use to the year “1867!”

Remember the infamous words of Josef Goebbels, Hitler’s minister of propaganda who said, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

Indeed, we believed in the Big Lie of Darwinian evolution and got separation of law from morality, eugenics, Nazism, scientific mythology dominating the academy and influencing law, policy and culture. We believe man-made climate change and have already spent billions on policies related to the “green movement” which is a contrived hoax.

These modern-day fascists in government, in the academy, in science and in the media are so narcissistic in their zeal to save the world they will do so even if it means destroying the world. Liberalism is so sick and delusional that these people think they have the power to affect the temperature of the earth, which most scientists realize is predicated not on man, but primarily on the sun.

The four deceits: government, academia, science and media, are all dominated by Machiavellian hacks in Washington, D.C., in Hollywood, in the academy, in corporate America, in science and at the United Nations. Now that we know the truth behind this climate change scandal from the e-mails at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit, any person in a position of power to effect energy policy who believes in man-made or anthropogenic climate-change nonsense should all be given a nice straight jacket and put inside a padded cell at the insane asylum.
