I was eleven years old when Israel declared its independence and sovereignty in 1948 with the blessing of the United Nations. World War Two and the Holocaust were over barely three years and many of Europe’s Jews needed a state of their own to rebuild their lives. Jews from throughout the Middle East were forced to flee nations in which they had lived for centuries. Over time Israel would absorb Russian Jews and others from around the world.

Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon attacked Israel days after its formal establishment. They were defeated. They would attack again in 1967 and 1973. In the course of these wars, the Arabs that had been living in Palestine, as Israel was known due to the post World War One British mandate, fled or were displaced.

They would become the world’s oldest refugee group and the only one to which a UN agency would be solely devoted, absorbing U.S. and other funding to maintain their status as opposed to helping them assimilate into neighboring Arab nations.

The Zionists, mostly secular and mostly socialist Jews from Europe and Russia who had come to Palestine earlier to prepare the path to statehood were rather surprised to find so many Arabs living there. At the time, Palestinians regarded themselves mostly as people living in southern Syria. Others were Bedouin. They were not “Palestinians”, nor had there ever been a Palestinian state.

Debating what the Israelis should do regarding the Palestinians has become a constant topic of U.S. foreign policy as well as that of most nations. It is, however, a debate that can only be decided by the Israelis and Palestinians and it is a cliché to say that one cannot achieve peace with someone who repeatedly says they want to kill you.

I have written about Israel over the years and maintained that it had a historic right to the land. After more than sixty years of ceaseless jihad—happening still—I have come to regard Palestinians as (1) intractably intent on driving out the Jews and (2) and incapable of establishing a state of their own.

Granting the Palestinians statehood when they have been denied the right to vote by their own leaders since 2005 says it all. Israel has been a true democracy since its founding. Neither the Palestinian Authority, nor Hamas, has any intention of permitting true democracy for their own people.

After reading Hirsh Goodman’s new book, “The Anatomy of Israel’s Survival”, it has made me realize the terrible choices Israel faces. The problem that confronted the original settlers of Israel still challenges its existence. Resolving the issue of the Palestinians says Goodman must be recognized IF it is at all possible.

As much as I hated and rejected the term “occupier” as applied to Israel the truth is that it has been an occupier of the West Bank as the result of wars waged against its right to exist, but an occupier nonetheless. That said, the Palestinians have always refused to accept any peace terms offered, as often as not greeting them with terror campaigns directed against Israel.

Hirsh is a senior research associate at the Institute for National Security at Tel Aviv University. Between 1986 and 1989 he was the strategic fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. Born in South Africa in 1946, his family immigrated to Israel in 1965 where he has lived in Jerusalem. He’s been a journalist and, as such, has had a front row seat on the politics, the wars, the intifadas, and all other aspects of life in Israel.

The Israel he describes is one with a parliamentary government that is divided by far too many political parties, each representing competing views and agendas, and largely dysfunctional except in the unifying threat of an attack. It is a very small nation; its population largely concentrated in its major cities.

In Jerusalem, Jews went from being 74% of the population in 1967 to 64% by the end of 2010. “Today there is virtual parity between 5.7 million Jews and 5.4 million Arabs in Israel and the territories.”

In a decade the Arabs will outnumber the Jews of Israel.

It is demography, the study of population increases and declines that poses a greater challenge to the future of Israel than even hostile neighbor states. It is increasingly essential to establish peace with the Palestinian Authority to provide Israel’s Arabs with a nation of their own, though many who are already Israeli citizens will likely choose to remain citizens in the only Middle Eastern nation to offer them freedoms found in no other.

Hirsh puts it bluntly. “Can Israel survive? Of course it can. The question is what kind of Israel it will be and what kind of neighbors it might enjoy. How Israel tackles the internal issues of the Hareidim (ultra orthodox) and the Israeli Arabs is important, even critical.”

“But even more important, the nature of Israeli survival depends on whether it remains an occupier or a tyrannical overlord. In continued occupation lies the deepening of internal dissent between the settlers and the rest of Israel, between the Right and the left, those who claim to speak in the name of God and the rest of us. Occupation will lead to the erosion of Israel’s moral fiber.”

And Hirsh knows that “Israel is not totally the master of its own destiny. It cannot make peace by itself. It cannot alone influence, let alone control, what happens in the region.”
What is happening is the widespread movement of Arabs to rid themselves of the dictators that have run nations from the Maghreb nations where Africa meets the Mediterranean, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, and others such as Syria’s Assad and even some Gulf nations like Bahrain.

How the Middle East looks after the dust settles is anyone’s guess. If history is any guide, these nations will simply replace old despots with new ones.

So long as the Palestine issue exists it conveniently provides Israel’s neighbors and others the excuse to condemn it. Until the election of President Barack Hussein Obama, the United States had always been a steadfast ally, but he has undermined that long relationship.

Thus Israel, a pariah among nations with far worse records in war, peace and human rights faces some terrible choices. One choice, its right to self defense and to exist as Jewish state is non-negotiable.

President Barack Hussein Obama never tires of repeating the same al-Taqiyya; I tire of  refuting  his lies, but I will continue because I view  truth as a sacred value which must be preserved in order to preserve liberty.  As usual, I will take the worst lies out of context and refute them.  Those desiring the whole sack of feces can choose between the video:  Press Conference Video and the transcript.

“As I said in Cleveland on Wednesday, I ran for President because I believed the policies of the previous decade had left our economy weaker and our middle class struggling.  They were policies that cut taxes, especially for millionaires and billionaires, cut regulations for corporations and for special interests, and left everyone else pretty much fending for themselves.  They were policies that ultimately culminated in a financial crisis and a terrible recession that we’re still digging out of today. ”

The policies that weakened our economy  belong to the LibTards in Congress and the White House, both Democrat and Republican.  There is no free lunch and no magic wand.  Due to the intentional destruction of  our system of education, the general public lacks the knowledge of economics necessary to anticipate the stream of lies coming from hucksters & politicians.  They did not learn from the .com bubble, so they bought into the housing bubble and got stung again.

This story has three morals:

1. Get politicians & union goons out of the education system.
2. Caveat Emptor!!!
3. Never vote for a LibTard!!!

It is not possible to spur economic growth by wasting vast sums on boodoggles and increasing the national debt.  It is necessary to get more money into the hands of consumers and increase their confidence in the economy.  Everything Obama proposes is counterproductive.

Is there some part of the Muslim’s answer to Adams & Jefferson that you  can not comprehend?   What part of it escapes Obama’s comprehension??  When caliph Umar sent his army to Persia, the Persian general asked a  question similar to Jefferson’s and received a similar answer.  This crucial quote comes from Sahih Bukhari 4.53.386.

Our Prophet, the Messenger of our Lord, has ordered us to fight you till you worship Allah Alone or give Jizya (i.e. tribute); and our Prophet has informed us that our Lord says:– “Whoever amongst us is killed (i.e. martyred), shall go to Paradise to lead such a luxurious life as he has never seen, and whoever amongst us remain alive, shall become your master.”

Can you see the parallels?  Can you connect the dots?  Why can’t  Shrub & Obama???  They can but they won’t, because Shrub was not comfortable with the fact that he had two  options: to kill 1.3 billion people or break their faith so that they would no longer be Muslims obligated to wage war against us.   Obama won’t because he is one of them.  His father was Muslim; Islam passes through patriarchy. A Muslim’s children are Muslims, by Islamic law.  If Obama had a genuine conversion, he would condemn Islam because he knows its evil from the inside.

Terrorism is an intrinsic sacrament of Islam. “I will cast terror“, “so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes“, “to strike a terror“, “Allah cast terror“,  “I have been made victorious with terror“.  How do you refute the Islamic record of what Allah & Moe said and did?

In  the previous paragraph, I gave you quotes from the Qur’an & hadith.  Allah said that he would and did “cast terror”.   Moe said that he was made victorious with terror.  What part of that do you not comprehend?  I gave you links; click them and read multiple translations of the Qur’an and one translation of Sahih Bukhari.

`Who perverted Islam?  Allah said something about war. I will quote one of those statements, an  imperative commanding Muslims to wage war against Jews, Christians & Zoroastrians.  This quote is from J.M. Rodwell’s translation, linked to multiple translations.

9:29. Make war upon such of those to whom the Scriptures have been given as believe not in God, or in the last day, and who forbid not that which God and His Apostle have forbidden, and who profess not the profession of the truth, until they pay tribute out of hand, and they be humbled.

What did Allah command Muslims to do?  Most of the translators  give it as fight.  What does it mean?  Moe told his companions what it meant to him, who is more expert in interpreting his revelations?

That Islamic scripture & oral tradition are codified in Shari’ah; Islamic law.  I quote from Reliance  of the Traveller, the handbook of Shafi’ite Fiqh.

How can  anyone hear or read those words without cursing?  Obama and his party have made a career of racial & ethnic division as well as economic class warfare which is exemplified early in his press conference. He demands that a Mosque be erected on Ground Zero but says nothing about a Greek Orthodox Church that has been frustrated by bureaucrats for nine years.  America ain’t hyphenated.

First, Islam is a predatory way of life, not a religion. It preys upon the human race.  It declared and is prosecuting war against pagan and scriptural disbelievers.

What book contains a clear command to wage war upon us?  Whose book is that?  Then who the Hell is our enemy!??  “Its Islam, stupid!”  Who prays for our defeat? Who burns our flag? Who marches in the streets chanting “Death to America!”?  Who carries signs declaring “Freedom go to Hell!”??

The fact that Islam is divided into schismatic sects who hate each other’s existence does not make any of them our friends or allies. They have one thing in common: hatred of disbelievers.

Does the practice of religion include obedience to religious obligations?  Are you aware of the fard al-kifaya of Jihad?  It binds all free, able bodied & sane adult male Muslims until a sufficient number have reported to the front. I refer doubters & dissenters to Reliance o9.1.  Muslims can not practice Islam without waging war on us. Its what they do; what Allah purchased them for.

9:111. Verily, Allâh has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties; for the price that theirs shall be the Paradise. They fight in Allâh’s Cause, so they kill (others) and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and the Qur’ân. And who is truer to his covenant than Allâh? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme success . [Emphasis added.]

When disbelievers retaliate and invade Muslim lands, the obligation becomes  fard ayn, binding upon all Muslims. If they are overrun, that includes women and children and Muslims wheresoever dispersed over the face of the earth.

Muslims are obligated to obey Allah and  his Messenger. What did Allah command them to do?  What did Moe do for them to emulate?  In the last nine years of his life he started a war every six weeks on the average.   Get a clue.

3:118. O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitânah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends, etc.) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand.
9:23. O you who believe! Take not for Auliyâ’ (supporters and helpers) your fathers and your brothers if they prefer disbelief to Belief. And whoever of you does so, then he is one of the Zâlimûn (wrong-doers, etc.).

There is no limit to treachery & irrationality. There is no peace between Muslims and Jews, never was and never will be.  I have a few clues for you in addition to 9:29, previously cited.

7:167. And (remember) when your Lord declared that He would certainly keep on sending against them (i.e. the Jews), till the Day of Resurrection, those who would afflict them with a humiliating torment. Verily, your Lord is Quick in Retribution (for the disobedient, wicked) and certainly He is Oft­Forgiving, Most Merciful (for the obedient and those who beg Allâh’s Forgiveness).

Who might Allah send to torment the Jews?  Any nominees?

2:191. And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah is worse than killing. And fight not with them at Al-Masjid-al-Harâm (the sanctuary at Makkah), unless they (first) fight you there. But if they attack you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: It will turn out that you will be armed troops, one is Syria, one in the Yemen and one in Iraq. Ibn Hawalah said: Choose for me, Apostle of Allah, if I reach that time. He replied: Go to Syria, for it is Allah’s chosen land, to which his best servants will be gathered but if you are unwilling, go to your Yemen, and draw water from your tanks, for Allah has on my account taken special charge of Syria and its people.

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews. [Emphasis added.]

The Roman Province of Syria was conquered by caliph Umar in 638, driving out many Jews and Christians. In 1948, the jews recovered a tiny fragment of their stolen patrimony. Muslims can’t tolerate that because land once conquered must forever remain  in Muslim hands, it belongs to Allah.  Allah promised them a two to one kill ratio and victory.  Israel’s successful self-defense proves Allah to be an impotent idol. That is the ultimate blasphemy which Muslims will never accept.  There will be peace when there are no more Muslims, not until then, no matter what suicidal concessions you force Israel to make.

This nation was founded on Judeo-Christian ideals, not Muslim ideals.  The founders declared that we are free to choose what, when & how to worship or not.  Islam declares that only Allah has the right to be worshiped and that war must be waged to secure that right.  The Qur’an contains the conquest imperatives behind the accursed abomination perpetrated nine years ago today.   This nation was also founded on the ideal of free expression.  Pastor Jones has a right to express his indignation at Islam’s demon worship & genocidal conquest.

Our very existence offends Muslims.  Nothing Pastor Jones can do will offend them more than the presence of our troops in Afghanistan.  They need no further  pretext for hating and attacking us.  We can not exacerbate their hatred by any  act or omission.

Backing down and suspending or canceling the protest as Pastor Jones has done is the worst possible error.  It gives Islam a victory, proof that terror and the threat thereof is effective.  It will  enhance terrorist recruitment and funding.

My blog posts enrage them. One of my blogs has been banned by Pakistan. What is to stop you from demanding  that my free expression of  relevant, verifiable  factual information be censored?  By God I stand on the  free speech clause of the First Amendment!!

Our national security is not endangered by  those of us who expose & condemn Islam, it is endangered by traitors like you who appease Muslims and fail to eradicate Islam from the face of the earth.

Holding prisoners is the greatest possible incentive for fresh attacks because the enemy seeks hostages for exchange.  Just usher them into Hell immediately and be done with them!!!

After the accursed abomination there was anxiety over follow up attacks.  During the D.C. Sniper episode, there was great anxiety and a few copy cat attacks.  Those attacks are calculated to tear our social fabric, to induce paranoia and make normal  life impossible.   Ultimately, terrorism is intended to render its victims incapable of mounting   an effective defense effort.

There is one and only one solution to this problem:  remove the Islamic fifth column from our  soil and keep them out.  Deport Muslims and ban them from entering.  If we won’t do that, we won’t have security.

The two do not belong in one sentence. Mosques are places where Muslims congregate to curse us and pray for our defeat. Seventeen times each day they remind Allah of why he wants to burn us; how  we went astray or earned his  wrath.  Mosques are their armories. Recently, fifteen Muslims died in a Mosque in Afghanistan when their bomb detonated prematurely.

Religious faith is part of our strength.  According to S.K. Malik’s Qur’anic Concept of War,  destroying faith is a necessary prerequisite to instilling terror.

“With respect to the mosque in New York, I think I’ve been pretty clear on my position here, and that is, is that this country stands for the proposition that all men and women are created equal; that they have certain inalienable rights — one of those inalienable rights is to practice their religion freely. Islamic law says that we can not build churches or maintain existing churches.  Islamic law says that we can not testify in court.  Islamic law says that the testimony of one man is equal to that of two women.

The St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church stood across the street from the towers. It was crushed when they collapsed.  The bureaucrats of the Port Authority have given them the run around for nine years, they celebrated Christmas in a tent.  But the Mosque is on the fast track.

In Psychology class, we were taught that all humans share  a common hierarchy of needs. Tell that to Allah.

Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter.
6:32. And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement. But far better is the house in the Hereafter for those who are Al­Muttaqûn (the pious – see V.2:2). Will you not then understand?
6:70. And leave alone those who take their religion as play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But remind (them) with it (the Qur’ân) lest a person be given up to destruction for that which he has earned, when he will find for himself no protector or intercessor besides Allâh, and even if he offers every ransom, it will not be accepted from him. Such are they who are given up to destruction because of that which they have earned. For them will be a drink of boiling water and a painful torment because they used to disbelieve.
4:74. Let those (believers) who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter fight in the Cause of Allâh, and whoso fights in the Cause of Allâh, and is killed or gets victory, We shall bestow on him a great reward. [Emphasis added.]

The Kafir

Until now we have looked at the big picture of Sharia and then the position of women in Sharia. We now come to a new subject–the unbeliever or non-Muslim. The word “non-Muslim” is used in the translation of Sharia law, but the actual Arabic word used is “Kafir”. But the word Kafir means far more than non-Muslim. The original meaning of the word was “concealer”, one who conceals the truth of Islam.

The Koran says that the Kafir may be deceived, plotted against, hated, enslaved, mocked, tortured and worse. The word is usually translated as “unbeliever” but this translation is wrong. The word “unbeliever” is logically and emotionally neutral, whereas, Kafir is the most abusive, prejudiced and hateful word in any language.

There are many religious names for Kafirs: polytheists, idolaters, People of the Book (Christians and Jews), Buddhists, atheists, agnostics, and pagans. Kafir covers them all, because no matter what the religious name is, they can all be treated the same. What Mohammed said and did to polytheists can be done to any other category of Kafir.

Islam devotes a great amount of energy to the Kafir. The majority (64%) of the Koran is devoted to the Kafir, and nearly all of the Sira (81%) deals with Mohammed’s struggle with them. The Hadith (Traditions) devotes 32% of the text to Kafirs¹. Overall, the Trilogy devotes 60% of its content to the Kafir.

The Sharia does not devote nearly that much to the Kafir since Sharia law is primarily for Muslims. Besides, the Kafir has few rights, so there is little to expound on.

Religious Islam is what Muslims do to go to Paradise and avoid Hell. What Mohammed did to Kafirs was not religious, but political. Political Islam is what is of concern to Kafirs, not the religion. Who cares how a Muslim worships, but every one of us is concerned as to what they do to us and say about us. Political Islam should be of concern to every Kafir.

Here are two Sharia references about Kafirs:

w59.2 [...] And this clari?es the Koranic verses and hadiths about hatred for the sake of Allah and love for the sake of Allah, Al Walaa wa al Baraa, being unyielding towards the Kafirs, hard against them, and detesting them, while accepting the destiny of Allah Most High insofar as it is the decree of Allah Mighty and Majestic.

Hatred for the sake of Allah and love for the sake of Allah is called Al Walaa wa al Baraa, a fundamental principle of Islamic ethics and Sharia. A Muslim is to hate what Allah hates and love what Allah loves. Allah hates the Kafir, therefore, a Muslim is to act accordingly.

40:35 They [Kafirs] who dispute the signs [Koran verses] of Allah without authority having reached them are greatly hated by Allah and the believers [Muslims]. So Allah seals up every arrogant, disdainful heart.

h8.24 It is not permissible to give zakat [charity] to a Kafir, or to someone whom one is obliged to support such as a wife or family member.

Here are a few of the Koran references: A Kafir can be mocked–

83:34 On that day the faithful will mock the Kafirs, while they sit on bridal couches and watch them. Should not the Kafirs be paid back for what they did?

A Kafir can be beheaded–

47:4 When you encounter the Kafirs on the battle?eld, cut off their heads until you have thoroughly defeated them and then take the prisoners and tie them up firmly.

A Kafir can be plotted against–

86:15 They plot and scheme against you [Mohammed], and I plot and scheme against them. Therefore, deal calmly with the Kafirs and leave them alone for a while.

A Kafir can be terrorized–

8:12 Then your Lord spoke to His angels and said, “I will be with you. Give strength to the believers. I will send terror into the Kafirs’ hearts, cut off their heads and even the tips of their fingers!”

A Muslim is not the friend of a Kafir–

3:28 Believers should not take Kafirs as friends in preference to other believers. Those who do this will have none of Allah’s protection and will only have themselves as guards. Allah warns you to fear Him for all will return to Him.

A Kafir is evil–

23:97 And say: Oh my Lord! I seek refuge with You from the suggestions of the evil ones [Kafirs]. And I seek refuge with you, my Lord, from their presence.

A Kafir is disgraced–

37:18 Tell them, “Yes! And you [Kafirs] will be disgraced.”

A Kafir is cursed–

33:60 They [Kafirs] will be cursed, and wherever they are found, they will be seized and murdered. It was Allah’s same practice with those who came before them, and you will ?nd no change in Allah’s ways.

KAFIRS AND THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK

Muslims tell Christians and Jews that they are special. They are “People of the Book” and are brothers in the Abrahamic faith. But in Islam you are a Christian, if and only if, you believe that Christ was a man who was a prophet of Allah; there is no Trinity; Jesus was not crucified nor resurrected and that He will return to establish Sharia law. To be a true Jew you must believe that Mohammed is the last in the line of Jewish prophets.

This verse is positive:

5:77 Say: Oh, People of the Book, do not step out of the bounds of truth in your religion, and do not follow the desires of those who have gone wrong and led many astray. They have themselves gone astray from the even way.

Islamic doctrine is dualistic, so there is an opposite view as well. Here is the last verse written about the People of the Book (A later verse abrogates or nullifies an earlier verse.). This is the final word. It calls for Muslims to make war on the People of the Book who do not believe in the religion of truth, Islam.

9:29 Make war on those who have received the Scriptures [Jews and Christians] but do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day. They do not forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden. The Christians and Jews do not follow the religion of truth until they submit and pay the poll tax [jizya] and they are humiliated.

The sentence “They do not forbid…” means that they do not accept Sharia law; “until they submit” means to submit to Sharia law. Christians and Jews who do not accept Mohammed as the ?nal prophet are Kafirs.

Muslims pray five times a day and the opening prayer always includes:

Koran 1: 7 Not the path of those who anger You [the Jews] nor the path of those who go astray [the Christians].

LANGUAGE

Since the original Arabic word for unbelievers was Kafir and that is the actual word used in the Koran and Sharia law, that is the word used here for accuracy and precision.

It is very simple: if you don’t believe Mohammed and his Koran, you are a Kafir.

A post by Bare Naked Islam seemed too bad to be true, so I clicked through to  her source. IMRA cites Naharnet,  they cite Foreign Policy.

The claim is that a high level team at CENTCOM wants to have HAMAS integrated into FATA’s so called security  force & Hizbullah integrated into Lebanon’s army.

Integrating HAMAS & Fata is the equivalent of  merging rival Mafia families.  Both are enemies to us and rivals to each other. HAMAS & Hizbullah  are more aggressive and better armed than their domestic rivals.

HAMAS explicitly quotes the genocide hadith in their charter.  Fata says “from the river to the sea” and “a million martyrs marching to Jerusalem.  HAMAS launched thousands of rockets.  Fata engineered the Munich Massacre.  No informed, rational and self-respecting person would advocate negotiating with  or making concessions to either of them.

Call it Mephitis, or call it woods pussy, a skunk  stinks and can  carry rabies.  Call it HAMAS, Fata, Hizbullah or al-Qaeda,  Islam is still Islam, and it won’t rest until it conquers and subjugates the entire world.

Here is the money quote.

Place your bets: are they idiots, insane or traitors?   Fata & HAMAS are two sharks contesting over which one will eat Israel and rule the pond.  No sane person would favor one over the other or feed them. If they merge, HAMAS will come out on top. It won’t make any real difference in the long run.

The concept of “Palestinian security force” is obviously irrational.  Fata has no interest in reducing terrorism, it was formed for the purpose of engaging in terrorism.  The guns and ammunition we supplied to them have already been turned on Israel.  That outcome was entirely predictable from the start.

Hizbullah now has veto power over the government of Lebanon.  The Lebanese army is intimidated, if not in sympathy with Hizbullah.  Who will disarm Hizbullah?  Does anyone remember the UN resolution that \ended the summer war in ’06?  How is that working out for us?

The quotes below are from Islam’s canon of scripture & tradition; they are the mainstream of Islamic doctrine & practice, not a token of radicalism or extremism.   This is why no informed and rational person can   tolerate the existence of Islam.  Allah has a special relationship with Muslim, master: slave.  What do his slaves do for him?  They fight in his cause, kill and are killed.  What part of this do you not comprehend? [Ibn Kathir's Tafsir linked after each verse.]

9:111. Verily, Allâh has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties; for the price that theirs shall be the Paradise. They fight in Allâh’s Cause, so they kill (others) and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and the Qur’ân. And who is truer to his covenant than Allâh? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme success . [Allah has purchased the Souls and Wealth of the Mujahidin in Return for Paradise]

Warfare is ordained for Muslims; it is mandatory, not optional. Surah al-Baqarah, which contains this verse, relates directly to defensive warfare, but the ordinance is general, not limited in scope.

2:216. Jihâd (holy fighting in Allâh’s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allâh knows but you do not know. [Jihad is made Obligatory]

Offensive warfare against pagans & atheists is an imperative ordained for Muslims. Disbelievers are to be fought until resistance ceases and only Allah is worshiped on a global scale.

8:39. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.
[The Order to fight to eradicate Shirk and Kufr]

Offensive warfare against Christians, Jews & Zoroastrians is an imperative ordained for Muslims. People of the book are to be fought until they are subjugated and extorted.

9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. [The Order to fight People of the Scriptures until They give the Jizyah]

These offensive jihad imperatives  are confirmed in this hadith and several variants. Moe declared that he was ordered to fight  until we do things his way. Note that our lives & wealth are not sacred to Muslims and that we have no rights until we become Muslims.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387:
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.’ And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah.” Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, “O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?” He replied, “Whoever says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah’, faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have.”

Those are not forgotten words in musty old books. They are preached in every Mosque and taught in every madrassa. They are also codified into Islamic law.

Those are not anachronisms. Jihad has no expiration date.

Sunan Abu Dawud Book 14, Number 2526
Narrated Anas ibn Malik:
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, “There is no god but Allah” and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist). The tyranny of any tyrant and the justice of any just (ruler) will not invalidate it. One must have faith in Divine decree.

Muslims can not swing open the gates of Paradise until they hunt down and kill the last Jew.  This is the infamous genocide hadith.

Sahih Muslim Book 041, Number 6985:
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.

Participation in Jihad is the test of the believer.

3:140. If a wound (and killing) has touched you, be sure a similar wound (and killing) has touched the others. And so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns, that Allâh may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you. And Allâh likes not the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong­doers).
3:141. And that Allâh may test (or purify) the believers (from sins) and destroy the disbelievers.
3:142. Do you think that you will enter Paradise before Allâh tests those of you who fought (in His Cause) and (also) tests those who are As-Sâbirin (the patient ones, etc.)?
3:143. You did indeed wish for death (Ash­Shahâdah – martyrdom) before you met it. Now you have seen it openly with your own eyes.

Islam is a clear and present danger, an existential threat and always will be because participation in jihad is a Muslim’s only sure ticket to the celestial bordello.  If he refuses to go to war, he is sure to be damned.

9:38. O you who believe! What is the matter with you, that when you are asked to march forth in the Cause of Allâh (i.e. Jihâd) you cling heavily to the earth? Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter. [Admonishing clinging to Life rather than rushing to perform Jihad]

61:10. O You who believe! Shall I guide you to a commerce that will save you from a painful torment.
61:11.  That you believe in Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allâh with your wealth and your lives, that will be better for you, if you but know!
61:12. (If you do so) He will forgive you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and pleasant dwelling in Gardens of ‘Adn ­ Eternity ['Adn (Edn) Paradise], that is indeed the great success.
61:13. And also (He will give you) another (blessing) which you love, help from Allâh (against your enemies) and a near victory. And give glad tidings (O Muhammad ) to the believers.

Islam can not be reformed nor rendered anodyne because it is literalistic and absolutist. Perfection can not be improved, only defiled.  Allah’s word can not be changed.

Now you know why our elected leaders and their appointed officers can not bring themselves to correctly identify the enemy.  If they did that, they would be confronted with a terrible decision:   kill them all or break their faith?  Certainly the latter course of action is more humane, though likely less effective.,   Any proposal to kill them all would raise chats of “never again!”  Never again?   Hindu Kush? Assyria? Armenia? Maillot?  Beslan? 6/11?  Never again??

There will be genocide and terror so long as Islam exists. What will you do about it?

Michelle Boorstein asks at the Washington Post: How influential will anti-Muslim groups become?

For years there has been a small but passionate group of people concerned with the influence of Islam, and their activism seemed to be largely focused on blogging and lobbying political conservatives. But their presence — and the arguments they raise — seem to be coming into the broader sphere of late.

The author cites the controversy over the Cordoba House project and  Paypal’s censorship of Atlas Shrugs.  The Salon article she links to shouts “racially-motivated hatred” in its headline.

The entire anti-mosque campaign isn’t about anything other than pure, paranoid Islamophobia.

The article closes with a short story about two Arab Christians who were allegedly driven away from a recent protest of Cordoba House in N.Y.C.  Atlas Shrugs posted a communication from one of the Arab Cristians involved in that incident. Here is one paragraph from  that communication.

The reason I am writing to you, is because I am very disappointed in the mainstream media who used this minor incident to make a blanket generalization about all the attendees of the rally as Muslim haters.This kind of generalization was unfair to the good American people who legitimately stand against the building of a mosque next to ground zero and who are against Islamist agenda in the US. I am very well aware of such an agenda which has destroyed the Christian and Jewish existence in the Middle East.

Now you know what theose smug, smarmy left wingers are doing to pull the woll over your eyes.

The REAL News Network posted a video of two academics making the usual smarmy, self-righteous denunciation of “bigotry”. Note their loaded title:

According to them, the Islamic  conquest and occupation of  Southern & Eastern Europe was the greatest thing before sliced bread.  It produced a wonderful culture of architecture, infrastructure and academia.  They don’t give a damn about the slaugher, enslavement or burning of churches and monestaries.  Oh, no, those are minor, inconsequential incidents.

According to the Socialist narrative, all opposition to Islam is bigotry; Islamophobia.  It is evidence of paranoia.  Their narrative is false and malignant.  An estimated 270*10⁶ people were slaughtered by Islam since 622. The slaughter of Hundus and the Armenian & Assyrian genocides flow directly from the foundational texts of Islam.

Genocide

Allah’s divine word includes these gems of genocidal bestiality.  Denial is not a river in Egypt. You can not disprove objective factual reality.

8:67. It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land. You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allâh desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

47:4. So, when you meet (in fight Jihâd in Allâh’s Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives). Thereafter (is the time) either for generosity (i.e. free them without ransom), or ransom (according to what benefits Islâm), until the war lays down its burden. Thus [you are ordered by Allâh to continue in carrying out Jihâd against the disbelievers till they embrace Islâm (i.e. are saved from the punishment in the Hell-fire) or at least come under your protection], but if it had been Allâh’s Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allâh, He will never let their deeds be lost,

The differential desires of Moe and Allah are clear from the phrases which I emphasized with bold font.  Moe wanted ransom, Allah wants great slaughter, killed and wounded many of them.  I linked the Surah:ayeh numbers to a table of ten parallel translations so that you can verify the obvious meaning of the quotes.

Of course, it could not possibly mean that, could it.  No, those verses must be metaphorical or allegorical.  Yeah, right. Ibn Kathir explained them in
The Command to strike the Enemies’ Necks, tighten Their Bonds, and then free Them either by an Act of Grace or for a Ransom.

(until you have fully defeated them,) meaning, `you have killed and utterly destroyed them.’

It appears that this Ayah was revealed after the battle of Badr. At that time, Allah reproached the believers for sparing many of the enemy’s soldiers, and holding too many captives in order to take ransom from them.

Surely those are anachronisms, long since expired.  Yeah, right.

So, where is my proof?  My proof is in another hadith  collected by Abu Dawud. Read it carefully, paying particular attention to the parts I emphasized.

Sunan Abu Dawud Book 38, Number 4390:

Narrated Atiyyah al-Qurazi:
I was among the captives of Banu Qurayzah. They (the Companions) examined us, and those who had begun to grow hair (pubes) were killed, and those who had not were not killed. I was among those who had not grown hair.

Had Atiyya reached puberty, he would have been slaughtered, he would not have survived to narrate that saying.  When the Banu Qurayzah surrendered, Moe had their men and adolescent boys slaughtered.  The estimates run between 700 and 900 decapitations in that incident.   And they are not finished yet. Muslims can not open the gates of Paradise until they complete the genocide of the Jews.

Sahih Muslim Book 041, Number 6985:

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.

Genocide is not only a divine imperative, it is sunah, an example for future genrations of Muslims to emulate.  Now let us examine the consequence of the codification of that divine imperative and  exemplary conduct.  I quote from CPPCG.

Article 3

The following acts shall be punishable:
(a) Genocide;
(b) Conspiracy to commit genocide;
(c) Direct and public incitement to commit genocide;
(d ) Attempt to commit genocide;
(e) Complicity in genocide.

Article 3(c) of the Convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide requires that Islam be proscribed by law.  Other standing violations of international human rights covenants which require the proscription of Islam are documented in  Islam vs Human Rights.

Islam is intolerant; 3:85.  And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. In 9:29, it declares perpetual war on Jews, Christians & Zoroastrians.

The current contrempts center around Ground Zero, where Muslims seek to erect a Mosque in the Burlignton Coat Factory outlet, as a symbol of superiority.  There is a little secret most Amaericans are unaware of.  Islamic law forbids conquered Christians from building or maintianing churches.  The quote is from a list of seven restrictions on dhimmis found in Reliance of the Traveller, Book O11.5.

President Obama met with the “President Abbas”  June 9, 2010 and held a joint press conference,  which he refused to do with Prime Minister Netanyahu. The White House provided a transcript. My intention is to expose the arrogant traitor by contrasting his clever lies with the truth.

Bare Naked Islam posted a video of the press conference. Watch it, but be careful to avoid vomiting on your keyboard.

I just want to thank President Abbas for being here, and his delegation.  We just concluded some very productive discussions on this issue.  I commended President Abbas for the excellent work that he and Prime Minister Fayyad have been engaged in over the last several years in strengthening the security as well as improving the economic situation for his people.  He’s done so through hard work and dedication, and I think the whole world has noticed the significant improvements that we’ve seen as a consequence of his good administration.

Exactly what did those discussions produce?  Did Abbas do anything about official incitement?  Did he do anything about the inculcation of hatred in his schools and summer camps?  Did he discard the practice of honoring terrorists by naming streets, plazas, institutions and events after them?  We know blessed well that he did not and will not do any of those things.

Exactly what substantive action  did Abbas take to enhance the security of his people?  Did he do anything to curb provocations against Israel, which generate the greatest threat to their welfare when Israel is forced to retaliate?  Did he do anything effective to curb the rival gangs whose fights often entrap “innocent civilians” ?  We know blessed well that he did not and will not do any of those things.

Exactly what did Abbas do to improve the economic situation of his people?  Did he stop wasting money on weapons and terrorists?  Did he curb corruption?  Did he recover any of the foreign aid diverted by Arafat ?  We know blessed well that he has not done and will not do any of those things.

Exactly what improvements has he made?  How extensive and how permanent are they?

But obviously there is a lot of work that remains to be done so that we can create a two-state solution in the Middle East in which we have an Israel that is secure and fully accepted by its neighbors, and a Palestinian people that have their own state, self-determination, and the ability to chart their own destiny.

Creating a Falestinian state is not a solution.  No quantity of work will enable the creation of a  stable, self supporting, anodyne Falestinian state.  The difference between a Falestinian state and the Falestinian Authority  is statehood.  That is an artificial legal concept  which has no effect whatsoever on objective factual reality.

They had an opportunity to have their own state, unjustly carved out of the territory mandated for Israel, just as Trans-Jordan was stolen from Israel’s patrimony.  Instead, they chose war, preferring attempted politicide & genocide to a state of their own.  Statehood would not make any improvement.

Israel will never be secure, nor will it be accepted by its neighbors so long as its neighbors are slaves of Allah.  Allah hates Jews, he wants them all dead.  He commanded Muslims to wage war against them until all the Jews are subjugated and submit to extortion.  He established the final genocide of the Jews as a prerequisite for  the opening of the gates of Paradise.  Who will Allah send to torment the Jews? [Emphasis added.]

7:167. And (remember) when your Lord declared that He would certainly keep on sending against them (i.e. the Jews), till the Day of Resurrection, those who would afflict them with a humiliating torment. Verily, your Lord is Quick in Retribution (for the disobedient, wicked) and certainly He is Oft­Forgiving, Most Merciful (for the obedient and those who beg Allâh’s Forgiveness).

There is a reason why Muslims will never accept the existence of Israel.  Nobody in a position of power and authority will reveal it to you. Since I am not in a position of power or authority and do not make a living from public speaking or writing, I am able and willing to reveal it.  Israel is living proof of the fact that Allah is an impotent idol.  Islam is a lie, Muslims are liars, and Israel stands as living proof of that fact. Her existence is the ultimate blasphemy to Muslims.

When Muslims conquer a territory, it becomes waqf, in perpetual trust for Allah.  Allah will never relinquish it; it is impossible for conquered kuffar to recover their land and rule over its Muslim occupiers.

Allah promised Muslims victory in the Qur’an:  3:125, 5:52,  14:15, 17:6, 29:10.  He said “We gradually reduce the land (of disbelievers, by giving it to the believers, in war victories) from its outlying borders. in 13:41 “. Allah promised in 8:65, a ten to one kill ratio, reducing it to two to one in the next verse.

If Allah were the deity and his promises valid, Israel would have been annihilated in 1948 or any of the  latter attempts at genocide.  Only ignorant fools believe that peaceful coexistence with Islam is possible.  Only traitors pretend that it is possible.

Now, we’ve just gone through a difficult period in the region.  We saw the tragedy with the flotillas, something that I think has drawn attention all around the world to the ongoing problems in Gaza.  As part of the United Nations Security Council, we were very clear in condemning the acts that led to this crisis and have called for a full investigation.  And it is important that we get all the facts out.  But what we also know is that the situation in Gaza is unsustainable.  I think increasingly you’re seeing debates within Israel, recognizing the problems with the status quo.  And so President Abbas and I had very extensive discussions about how we could help to promote a better approach to Gaza.

Tragedy with the flotillas?  Malignant malarkey! The flotillas were a planned provocation, intended to produce bodies  to be paraded before the t.v. cameras. The Muslims set up a lose/lose situation for Israel. Israel had two options, neither of them good. She could let the flotillas through, ending the blockade and insuring the delivery of larger, more powerful missiles from Iran — missiles which would do devastating damage to her cities. Or she  could seize the ships, and be forced to kill terrorists, posing as humanitarian aid workers in the process.  Give them a military victory or a propaganda victory. Israel wisely chose the latter.

The Jews landed on the ship armed with paint ball guns. They were besieged by terrorists swinging steel bars and plunging knives into them.  The Jews were forced to use their side arms.  For this, the hypocrites condemn Israel.

The Security Council condemned Israel for defending herself.  If we had a President instead of a traitor, that resolution would have been vetoed.   Anyone with a scintilla of morality would condemn the  Muslims for perpetrating their provocation.

The facts are out.  We saw video coverage of the swinging bars.  We saw pictures of bloodied Jews with stab wounds.  We saw the terrorists chanting Kaibar, the name of an Oasis where Moe had the village chief tortured to death and took his widow as a sex slave. We heard one of them say that they would obtain one of two good outcomes: “Gaza or martyrdom”.  Why waste time and treasure on an a biased investigation with a predetermined unjust outcome?

The only rational approach to Gaza and the West Bank is to remove the illegal occupiers.  Get those  Muslims out of there immediately!

We agree that Israelis have the right to prevent arms from entering into Gaza that can be used to launch attacks into Israeli territory.  But we also think that it is important for us to explore new mechanisms so that we can have goods and services, and economic development, and the ability of people to start their own businesses, and to grow the economy and provide opportunity within Gaza.

When they put saltpeter in bags labeled “sugar”,  they make trust impossible.  Israel can not afford to allow them to import the raw material for rocket fuel.  Every item in every load must be inspected for dual use materials. Anything less is suicidal.  Falestinians must abandon their quest for genocide or suffer the consequences.  Our politicians must quit blaming Israel for the faults of her enemy.   If you want economic development in Gaza, get the Muslims out of there and replace them with Jews.

And so we are going to be working hand in hand to make sure that we come up with a better approach, and urge Israel to work with all parties involved — Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, and the international community — to find a resolution to this issue.

Israel can only resolve this issue by doing to her enemies what they are trying to do to her. The only  rational alternative to break their bond of slavery to Allah, and nobody has the guts to  approach that problem.

In the meantime, the United States — which is already the biggest humanitarian aid donor in Gaza — is going to be announcing an additional $400 million in assistance for housing, school construction, business development — not only in Gaza, but also in the West Bank, because we think it’s important for us to reaffirm once again our commitment to improving the day-to-day lives of ordinary Palestinians.

The ultimate fool’s errand:  give the enemy money  for infrastructure construction, money that will be siphoned off to buy rocket fuel & explosives.  Then, the Jews will retaliate, destroying the new infrastructure.  While we are up to our eyeballs in national debt, Obama throws $400 million down the sewer.  We should flush him instead.

Now, what we also discussed, though, and what we will continue to work on over the next several months is the fact that not only is the status quo with respect to Gaza unsustainable, the status quo with respect to the Middle East is unsustainable. It is time for us to go ahead and move forward on a two-state solution that will affirm the needs of Israeli citizens and will affirm the needs of Palestinian — Palestinians who are desperate for a homeland.

“Palestinian” means Jew.  “Palestine” is a linguistic corruption of a name imposed on Israel & Judea by the Roman Empire after a rebellion in ad 70.  Israel is the Jewish homeland, not Arab homeland.  Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, not of some imaginary “Palestine”.  Those so called “Palestinians”  are  undifferentiated Arabs, nothing special.  They have no special rights and Israel owes them nothing whatsoever.   They do not want a homeland, they want the destruction of Israel.   I tire of the repetition of the false narrative of Falestine.

We have had very productive proximity talks.  Senator Mitchell — who is here, I think standing in the back — has been very active, working with both the Palestinians and the Israelis to try to start moving this process forward.  And I want to thank President Abbas for participating in these proximity talks even under some difficult circumstances.  He has shown courage and tenacity in wanting to resolve this issue.  And we believe that with Israelis and the Palestinian Authority coming together, making clear that a peaceful, non-violent solution that recognizes both the security needs of Israel as well as the legitimate aspirations of Palestinians is the right way to go, can yield real progress in the coming months.

Remember Oslo? What was gained? What part of their obligations did the Falestinians fulfill?  Remember Wye River ?  What was gained?  And the Roadmap to Hell, what good has it accomplished?

There is nothing to discuss except the time of the Muslim’s departure from Israel and whether they are going home or to Hell.  Thank Abbas for talking, after his refusal to concede anything and his ever escalating demands?

There is no peaceful non-violent solution to genocidal aggression.  There are no “legitimate aspirations” of Falestinians.  They aspire only to genocide, politicide and complete world conquest.

It’s important that we understand the sense of urgency that the Palestinian people feel in this process.  Obviously you’ve got organizations like Hamas that have not recognized Israel, have not renounced violence, who are calling for a different approach.  And we think it’s important that, given President Abbas’s commitment to a peaceful diplomatic solution to these issues, and I think the desire of people both in Israel and Palestine — Palestinian Territories for a peaceful solution, that we move forward.  And the United States is going to put its full weight behind those efforts.

There never was, is not now and never will be any such commitment to “a peaceful diplomatic solution”.  The United States, under the treason of Barack Hussein Obama, is putting its full weight behind the drive to destroy Israel and exterminate the Jews.

I did share with President Abbas, in order for us to be successful in these next several months, that both sides have to create an environment, a climate, that is going to be conducive to an actual breakthrough.  And that means on the Israeli side, curbing settlement activity and recognizing some of the progress that has been made by the Palestinian Authority when it comes to issues like security.  It means on the Palestinian side — and I was very frank with President Abbas that we have to continue to make more progress on both security as well as incitement issues.

The English language does not contain any execrations sufficient to communicate the dimensions and intensity of my outrage; my contempt and detestation  for the imbecillic spew of lies from that conniving traitor.  Jewish settlements in the Jewish homeland are not the obstacle to peace.  Islamic doctrine is the obstacle to peace.  There is no progress to recognize; never was and never will be. Abbas will never do anything effective to curb missile launches & suicide bombings.  Abbas will never stop the incitement and inculcation of hatred.   Only a damn fool has such expectations.  Only a traitor pretends that  they are realistic.

And if we can over the next several months try to lift up what are the honest and legitimate concerns of both sides and if both Palestinians and Israelis can recognize that they have a common interest in moving off of what has been this dead end, then I believe that potentially we can make significant progress before the end of the year.

God help us, we elected a traitor! No truth can pass his lips.  Only Israel has “honest and legitimate concerns”.

The final text of the Combating Defamation of Religions resolution (passed 12/18/’09) spans pages 67-72  of a 151 page pdf file: A/64/439/Add.2, part II. If you want to read it aloud, you’d better take breath control lessons, because the resolution is basically one long run on sentence.  It begins by recalling and reaffirming previous resolutions and documents.  The trip down the memory lane sewer is followed by a series of statements of  alarm and concern.

Expressing serious concern at the increase in racist violence…

Are they seriously concerned about the recent burning and looting of Christian churches, homes and  businesses in Egypt & Pakistan?  Of course not, that is not what concerns them.

as a result, inter alia, of the resurgence of activities of political parties and associations established on the basis of racist, xenophobic and ideological superiority platforms and charters, and the persistent use of those platforms and charters to promote or incite racist ideologies,

No, their concern is about the Dutch Freedom Party and similar parties in Europe which express concern about Islamic encroachment & demographic conquest. But they are deeply concerned about:

the negative projection of certain religions in the media

Next they  progress to stressing:

the defamation of religions is a serious affront to human dignity leading to the illicit restriction of the freedom of religion of their adherents and incitement to religious hatred and violence,

Do they refer to these examples?

• 1:7. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).
• 8:55. Verily, The worst of moving (living) creatures before Allâh are those who disbelieve , – so they shall not believe.
• 9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
• 9:30. And the Jews say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allâh, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allâh. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allâh’s Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!
• 9:123. O you who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allâh is with those who are the Al-Muttaqûn (the pious – see V.2:2).

Islamic scripture calumniates Jews, Christians and disbelievers in general, then it declares war and incites violence against them. Where is the U.N.’s concern about that prime exemplar of evil?  See what else they are stressing.

Reaffirming that discrimination on the grounds of religion or belief constitutes a violation of human rights and a disavowal of the principles of the Charter,

What is defamation of religions; what constitutes incitement to hatred?  Who decides?  I direct your attention to  Ban Ki-moon’s egregious condemnation of the short documentary by Geert Wilders.

Reuters quotes U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon about Fitna:

“There is no justification for hate speech or incitement to violence,” Ban said in a statement. “The right of free expression is not at stake here.”

The man chiefly responsible for enforcing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights asserts that there is no right to tell the truth about Islam. [Emphasis added for clarity.] Fitna is not hate speech nor is it incitement; it accurately depicts Islamic hate speech and incitement.

Demonstrating the intimate connection  (cause & effect) between Islam’s scripture and violence evidently constitutes hate speech and violence. Take a good long look at the incidents the OIC complains about in their Islamophobia report.  Here is what it all boils down to.

Expresses deep concern in this respect that Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism;

Human rights violations?  Such as the right to life? How about the right to be secure in their person and property?  How are our rights affected by the declaration of war previously cited (9:29)?  How are our rights affected by Muhammad’s  complete denial of  them, as well as the sanctity of our  blood & property?
Is Islam wrongly associated with terrorism? Who  created that association? What did Allah say about terrorism?

• 3:151. We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined others in worship with Allâh, for which He had sent no authority; their abode will be the Fire and how evil is the abode of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong­doers).
• 8:12. (Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, “Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes.”
• 8:57. So if you gain the mastery over them in war, punish them severely in order to disperse those who are behind them, so that they may learn a lesson.
• 8:60. Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of God and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom God doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of God, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.
• 33:26. And those of the people of the Scripture who backed them (the disbelievers) Allâh brought them down from their forts and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) a group (of them) you killed, and a group (of them) you made captives.
• 59:2. He it is Who drove out the disbelievers among the people of the Scripture (i.e. the Jews of the tribe of Banî An-Nadîr) from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think that they would get out. And they thought that their fortresses would defend them from Allâh! But Allâh’s (Torment) reached them from a place whereof they expected it not, and He cast terror into their hearts, so that they destroyed their own dwellings with their own hands and the hands of the believers. Then take admonition, O you with eyes (to see).
• 59:13. Verily, you (believers in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) are more awful as a fear in their (Jews of Banî An-Nadîr) breasts than Allâh. That is because they are a people who comprehend not (the Majesty and Power of Allâh).

Allah said that he would cast terror, Muslims must cast terror, and they did cast terror. What did Muhammad say?

• Bukhari Volume 1, Book 7, Number 331 [...]  Allah made me victorious by awe, (by His frightening my enemies) for a distance of one month’s journey. [...]
• Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220 [...]  I have been made victorious with terror [...]

Allah said he would cast terror, Moe said he was made victorious by it.  There is nothing wrong with the association of Islam with terrorism!  Lets look at the specific application of the wrongly associated meme.

Reiterates the commitment of all States to the implementation, in an integrated manner, of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, which was adopted without a vote by the General Assembly on 8 September 200614 and reaffirmed by the Assembly in its resolution 62/272 of 5 September 2008, and which clearly confirms, inter alia, that terrorism cannot and should not be associated with any religion, nationality, civilization or ethnic group, stressing the need to reinforce the international community’s commitment to promote a culture of peace, justice and human development, ethnic, national and religious tolerance, and respect for all religions, religious values, beliefs or cultures and prevent the defamation of
religions;

Any association of  Islam with terrorism is defamatory by default. So I have defamed Islam by quoting from its own canon of scripture and tradition.  Yeah, right. What is the bottom line?

Reaffirms the obligation of all States to enact the necessary legislation to prohibit the advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence, and encourages States, in their follow-up to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance,7 to include aspects relating to national or ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities in their national plans of action and, in this context, to take forms of multiple discrimination against minorities fully into account;

Do you remember what Ban said about Fitna (“incitement to violence”)?  They postulate a national obligation to criminalize documentaries such as Fitna and this blog post.

The Combating Defamation of Religious resolutions are propaganda, not law.  But they serve to add a false patina of legitimacy to existing blasphemy laws in Pakistan and other places where they are used to persecute adherents of minority religions.  They also create an atmosphere of support for the proposed protocol to ICERD which is slowly progressing in the Ad Hoc Committee for the Elaboration of Complementary Standards. That protocol will become binding international law.

Stop the Trial: Khalid Sheikih Mohamnmed Confessed! contains several references to the Qur’an.  My intention in this post is to give you access to the source of those references and their meaning.  The quotes are linked to three parallel translations at USC-MSA for easy context checking.

The preamble begins with this statement.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

You will find those same words in the transcript of Flight 93′s cockpit voice recorder.  Both the act of mass murder and the boast are couched in terms of service to the demon whose words are quoted to amplify the text of the boast. Both are acts of worship, neither is secular.

The first Qur’an quote is used to explain the covert nature of their operation.

((0 you believers! Take your precautions, and either go forth (on on expedition) in parties, or go forth together.))

That ayeh is 4:71. Ibn Kathir  does not mention secrecy or covert operations in his tafsir of 4:71. Maududi does not mention it, nor does Abdullaj Yusuf Ali.

In the matter of attacking civilians, five ayat are quoted.

((The sacred month is for the sacred month, and for the prohibited things, there is the law of equality. Then, whoever transgresses the prohibition against you, you transgress likewise against him.))

That ayeh is 2:194, explained here by Ibn Kathir.

((And there is (a saving of) life for you in AI-Qisas (The law of equality in punishment), 0 men of understanding, that you may become A/~Muttaquin (the pious).))

That ayeh is 2:179, explained here by Ibn kathir.

((The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof.))

That ayeh is 42:40, explained here by Ibn Kathir.

((Life for life, eye for an eye, nose for a nose, ear for an ear, tooth for a tooth, and wounds equal for equal.))

That ayeh is 5:45, explained here by Ibn Kathir.

((… Let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression.))

This text does not agree with the translation I use for 2:193. Shakir’s translation is the closest match, note, however, that the quote is out of context. Ibn Kathir’s explanation is here.  By selecting that fragment of  the ayeh, the authors were creating a false impression of benign passivity.  The full text of 2:193 follows, as translated by Shakir.

And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors.

Ibn Kathir’s tafsir of this ayeh is titled “The Order to fight until there is no more Fitnah”.

Allah then commanded fighting the disbelievers when He said:

??????? ??? ??????? ?????????

(…until there is no more Fitnah) meaning, Shirk. This is the opinion of Ibn `Abbas, Abu Al-`Aliyah, Mujahid, Al-Hasan, Qatadah, Ar-Rabi`, Muqatil bin Hayyan, As-Suddi and Zayd bin Aslam.

For an overly aggressive interpretation of  this ayeh, see the footnote by Hilali & Khan. The accused intend, by the selection of those ayat, to create a false impression that their attack was justified in retaliation for attacks by us.  From the Islamic viewpoint, resisting their attacks is oppression & aggression. That attitude is one of the fruits of supremacism & triumphalism.

They answer the accusation of war crimes with these quotes.

((To those against whom war is waged, permission is given (to fight,) because they are wronged and verily, Allah is most powerful for their aid.))

That is 22:39, explained here by Ibn Kathir.

((And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you, but be not the transgressor, Allah likes not the transgressors.))

That is 2:190,  explained here by Ibn Kathir.

Regarding the hijacking charge, they quote the verse of the sword.

((“then fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them, and seize them, and besiege them and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush,))

That is 9:5, explained here by Ibn Kathir.

In answering the charge of terrorism, they cite an ayeh which sanctifies terrorism.

((Soon shall we cast terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, for that they joined companies with Allah, for which he has sent no authority; There place will be the fire; and evil is the home of the wrongdoers.))

That is 3:151, Ibn Kathir’s tafsir is here.

((Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into the heart of the enemies of Allah and your enemies.))

((Of a truth you (Muslims) are more feared in their (the infidels from Christians, Jews, and others) hearts, than Allah.
This is because they are men devoid of understanding.))

That quote is from 59:13, explained here by Ibn Kathir.

((They fight not against you even together, except in fortified townships, or from behind walls, their enmity among themselves is very great, you would think that they were united, but their hearts are divided. That is because they are a people who
understand not.))

Last but not least, in answer to supporting terrorism, they return to the second surah.

((And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah, and make not your own hands contribute to your destruction, but do good; for Allah loves those who do good.))

That is 2:195, explained here by Ibn Kathir. Be sure to read the hadith used by Ibn Kathir to explain the meaning of casting yourself to destruction!
In the preamble, the authors  made a statement which requires exploration.

Nevertheless, it would have been the greatest religious duty to fight you over your infidelity.

They assert that they fight us in retaliation, but claim a religious obligation to fight us because we are not Muslims.  While they did not document the obligation to attack kuffar, it is not difficult to find in Surah al-Anfal & at-Taubah.

• 8:38. Say to those who have disbelieved, if they cease (from disbelief) their past will be forgiven. But if they return (thereto), then the examples of those (punished) before them have already preceded (as a warning).
• 8:39. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.

I added emphasis to the critical phrases. Ayeh 38 specifies the subject: disbelievers. Ayeh 39 specifies the verb: fight and the compound terminal condition no resistance and no shirk.  Notice the title of Ibn Kathir’s tafsir of this verse: The Order to fight to eradicate Shirk and Kufr.

In the next surah, Allah commands Muslims to make war on Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians until they are subjugated and make annual extortion payments.

• 9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Several hadith confirm those commands, but this one, in my opinion, is the clearest. I added emphasis to make the critical elements stand out.

• Moe was ordered to fight because Allah said “fight them”.
• The victims must become Muslims to save themselves by:
  • testimony to Allah’s deity
  • prescribed prayers
  • prescribed prayer orientation
  • prescribed slaughter
  • prescribed dietary laws.
• Until we do:
  • our blood and property are not sacred
  • we have no rights.

• Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387: Narrated Anas bin Malik:
  Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.’ And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah.” Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, “O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?” He replied, “Whoever says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah’, faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have.”

Reliance of the Traveller, the all purpose handbook of Islamic law, cites 9:29 as the basis of a requirement that the caliph makes war upon Jews & Christians.  [Emphasis & link added.]

O9.8: The Objectives of Jihad

The caliph (o25) makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians (N: provided he has first invited them to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya, def: o11.4) -which is the significance of their paying it, not the money itself-while remaining in their ancestral religions) (O: and the war continues) until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax (O: in accordance with the word of Allah Most High,

“Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and who forbid not what Allah and His messenger have forbidden-who do not practice the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book-until they pay the poll tax out of hand and are humbled” (Koran 9.29),[...]

The caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim (O: because they are not a people with a Book, nor honored as such, and are not permitted to settle with paying the poll tax (jizya) ) (n: though according to the Hanafi school, peoples of all other religions, even idol worshippers, are permitted to live under the protection of the Islamic state if they either become Muslim or agree to pay the poll tax, the sole exceptions to which are apostates from Islam and idol worshippers who are Arabs, neither of whom has any choice but becoming Muslim (al-Hidaya sharh Bidaya al-mubtadi’ (y21), 6.48-49) ).

The Caliph is required to fight all other people until they become Muslims (O9.9).  Al-Shafi’i issued a relevant ruling that there must be at least one annual military expedition against kuffar.

“The least that the imam must do is that he allow no year to pass without having organised a military expedition by himself, or by his raiding parties, according to the Muslims’ interest, so that the jihad will only be stopped in a year for a (reasonable) excuse.”

The Islamic religious duty to attack us is founded on those two ayat. It is confirmed by hadith and codified in Shari’ah; confirmed by fiqh.   Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and associates have exposed the fatal facts to our view by submitting them to the court. The facts can not be concealed any longer, they must be recognized and confronted.

In reality, K.S.M. etal. are not extremists; they have not hijacked Islam, they are believers, obeying Allah & emulating Moe.  Islam is a war cult, not a ‘religion of peace’.  If our elected leaders do not wise up to this fact and react accordingly, we will surely be subjected to further attacks, and eventually lose our legacy of liberty.

There has been much talk lately of creating a state of Palestine with Jerusalem as it’s capital city. Many of us take a dim view of this approach to peace between Israel and the so-called Palestinians.

Jerusalem is known to many as “The City Of David.” (Actually only the southeastern portion of The Old City is the historic “City of David”. But to many Jews and many evangelical Christians the entire city of Jerusalem is recognized as “The City of David.”) Jerusalem is at the heart of Jewry no matter where on the face of the globe a Jew happens to be.

Jerusalem can NEVER be the capital city of a non-existent state known as “Palestine.” NEVER! Even if the world finally has it’s way and declares such a thing as a Palestinian state, the city of Jerusalem will forever remain the capital city of Israel.
Here are some facts a few minutes research on the Internet will reveal:

Jerusalem has been inhabited since at least 3000 BC. It was originally built around a water source known then as the Gihon Spring, to the south of what is known today as the Temple Mount. King Solomon expanded the limits of the city beyond that area known as the City of David.

There are those who will argue that Jerusalem did not exist at the time of David or the time of his son, Solomon. I respect their right to believe what they will, but I choose to believe that it did. See, I am one of those old “Hard Heads” who maintain the plausibility or validity of the Biblical account of a conquest by King David who, as described in the Bible, captured the city by climbing upwards through the ancient water system at the Gihon Spring.

It was around the year 1010 BC, when King David defeated the Jebusites in Jerusalem and decided to make the city his administrative capital. David brought the Ark of the Covenant to the city.

When David brought the Ark to Jerusalem he intended to build a great Temple for God as a permanent resting place for the Ark of the Covenant. According to Jewish tradition, as reported in the Bible, David was not permitted to build the Temple because he had been a warrior. Building the Temple would fall to his son, Solomon. The Temple became the focus point of Jewish veneration from that point to today.

We would do well to remember that Jews have been living in Jerusalem continuously for nearly two millennia. They make up the largest single group of inhabitants there since the 1840′s. Today, the total population of Jerusalem is approximately 662,000. The Jewish population in areas formerly controlled by Jordan exceeds 160,000, outnumbering Palestinians in “Arab” East Jerusalem.

Ever since the day King David declared Jerusalem the capital city of Israel some 3,000 years ago, the city has been at the center of Jewish existence. The last remaining wall of the ancient Jewish Temple, the Western Wall, located in the Old City, is the holiest site in Judaism. It is the object of Jewish veneration and the focus of Jewish prayer. For thousands of years, three times a day, Jews have prayed, “To Jerusalem, thy city, shall we return with joy,” and they have repeated the Psalmist’s oath: “If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.”

And, yes, Muslims also revere the Holy City. According to Islamic belief, the prophet Mohammed was miraculously transported from Mecca to Jerusalem, and it was from Jerusalem that he made his ascent to heaven. But, please remember, even though Muslims controlled the city for more than a thousand years, Jerusalem was never the capital of any Arab entity, or country.

For Christians, on the other hand, Jerusalem is also thought of as holy. It is where Jesus lived, where he preached, where he died, and, most importantly, where he was resurrected. Even though it is the heavenly and not the earthly Jerusalem that is emphasized by The Church, places mentioned in the New Testament as sites of Christ’s ministry and passion attracted pilgrims and Christian worshipers for centuries and they continue to do so today.

Jerusalem can NEVER be the capital city of Palestine. Never!
Now, I’ll do a little prophesying myself. It is not too difficult to see a near future in which the UN recognizes a state of Palestine. And it will make no difference whether Jerusalem is designated the capital city of the new state of Palestine. Here’s why: At the first international incident between the state of Palestine and the state of Israel, Israel will invade, conquer, and occupy the new state of Palestine and very soon it will become a part of the newly enlarged country of Israel… again!

If the US really wants to do something constructive toward peace between Israel and the so-called Palestinians the best thing it can do is get out of Israel’s way. Allow Israel to take care of business and, fairly soon, the Palestinian problem will be solved. There will be no peace between Israel and the so-called Palestinians as long as BOTH of them exist on this earth. Remove the Palestinians and –Walla! — THAT problem solved.

Maybe Israel should consider the grant of statehood, to a state called Palestine, as a boon, really — sort of a gift from the UN to Israel. It would open the door for Israel to solve their ongoing problem with the so-called Palestinians once and for all.

However, I personally believe, as do the Evangelical Christians, that Israel will never know peace until the Prince of Peace returns. Then, that’s just me.

There is a piece of scripture, from the Bible, of which, I’d like to remind the Obama Regime. It reads thusly: “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”… Genesis 12:3. Oh, may I suggest the White House fax this lttle snippet of scripture over to the State Department and share it with them?

Preamble
Christians are heirs of a 2,000-year tradition of proclaiming God’s word, seeking justice in our societies, resisting tyranny, and reaching out with compassion to the poor, oppressed and suffering.

While fully acknowledging the imperfections and shortcomings of Christian institutions and communities in all ages, we claim the heritage of those Christians who defended innocent life by rescuing discarded babies from trash heaps in Roman cities and publicly denouncing the Empire’s sanctioning of infanticide.  We remember with reverence those believers who sacrificed their lives by remaining in Roman cities to tend the sick and dying during the plagues, and who died bravely in the coliseums rather than deny their Lord.

After the barbarian tribes overran Europe, Christian monasteries preserved not only the Bible but also the literature and art of Western culture.  It was Christians who combated the evil of slavery: Papal edicts in the 16^th and 17^th centuries decried the practice of slavery and first excommunicated anyone involved in the slave trade; evangelical Christians in England, led by John Wesley and William Wilberforce, put an end to the slave trade in that country.  Christians under Wilberforce’s leadership also formed hundreds of societies for helping the poor, the imprisoned, and child laborers chained to machines.

In Europe, Christians challenged the divine claims of kings and successfully fought to establish the rule of law and balance of governmental powers, which made modern democracy possible.  And in America, Christian women stood at the vanguard of the suffrage movement.  The great civil rights crusades of the 1950s and 60s were led by Christians claiming the Scriptures and asserting the glory of the image of God in every human being regardless of race, religion, age or class.

This same devotion to human dignity has led Christians in the last decade to work to end the dehumanizing scourge of human trafficking and sexual slavery, bring compassionate care to AIDS sufferers in Africa, and assist in a myriad of other human rights causes – from providing clean water in developing nations to providing homes for tens of thousands of children orphaned by war, disease and gender discrimination.

Like those who have gone before us in the faith, Christians today are called to proclaim the Gospel of costly grace, to protect the intrinsic dignity of the human person and to stand for the common good.  In being true to its own calling, the call to discipleship, the church through service to others can make a profound contribution to the public good.

Declaration

We, as Orthodox, Catholic, and Evangelical Christians, have gathered, beginning in New York on September 28, 2009, to make the following declaration, which we sign as individuals, not on behalf of our organizations, but speaking to and from our communities.   We act together in obedience to the one true God, the triune God of holiness and love, who has laid total claim on our lives and by that claim calls us with believers in all ages and all nations to seek and defend the good of all who bear his image.  We set forth this declaration in light of the truth that is grounded in Holy Scripture, in natural human reason (which is itself, in our view, the gift of a beneficent God), and in the very nature of the human person.  We call upon all people of goodwill, believers and non-believers alike, to consider carefully and reflect critically on the issues we here address as we, with St. Paul, commend this appeal to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.

While the whole scope of Christian moral concern, including a special concern for the poor and vulnerable, claims our attention, we are especially troubled that in our nation today the lives of the unborn, the disabled, and the elderly are severely threatened; that the institution of marriage, already buffeted by promiscuity, infidelity and divorce, is in jeopardy of being redefined to accommodate fashionable ideologies; that freedom of religion and the rights of conscience are gravely jeopardized by those who would use the instruments of coercion to compel persons of faith to compromise their deepest convictions.

Because the sanctity of human life, the dignity of marriage as a union of husband and wife, and the freedom of conscience and religion are foundational principles of justice and the common good, we are compelled by our Christian faith to speak and act in their defense.  In this declaration we affirm: 1) the profound, inherent, and equal dignity of every human being as a creature fashioned in the very image of God, possessing inherent rights of equal dignity and life; 2) marriage as a conjugal union of man and woman, ordained by God from the creation, and historically understood by believers and non-believers alike, to be the most basic institution in society and; 3) religious liberty, which is grounded in the character of God, the example of Christ, and the inherent freedom and dignity of human beings created in the divine image.

We are Christians who have joined together across historic lines of ecclesial differences to affirm our right – and, more importantly, to embrace our obligation - to speak and act in defense of these truths.  We pledge to each other, and to our fellow believers, that no power on earth, be it cultural or political, will intimidate us into silence or acquiescence.  It is our duty to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in its fullness, both in season and out of season.   May God help us not to fail in that duty.

Although public sentiment has moved in a pro-life direction, we note with sadness that pro-abortion ideology prevails today in our government.  The present administration is led and staffed by those who want to make abortions legal at any stage of fetal development, and who want to provide abortions at taxpayer expense.  Majorities in both houses of Congress hold pro-abortion views.  The Supreme Court, whose infamous 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade stripped the unborn of legal protection, continues to treat elective abortion as a fundamental constitutional right, though it has upheld as constitutionally permissible some limited restrictions on abortion.  The President says that he wants to reduce the “need” for abortion – a commendable goal.  But he has also pledged to make abortion more easily and widely available by eliminating laws prohibiting government funding, requiring waiting periods for women seeking abortions, and parental notification for abortions performed on minors.  The elimination of these important and effective pro-life laws cannot reasonably be expected to do other than significantly increase the number of elective abortions by which the lives of countless children are snuffed out prior to birth.  Our commitment to the sanctity of life is not a matter of partisan loyalty, for we recognize that in the thirty-six years since Roe v. Wade, elected officials and appointees of both major political parties have been complicit in giving legal sanction to what Pope John Paul II described as “the culture of death.”  We call on all officials in our country, elected and appointed, to protect and serve every member of our society, including the most marginalized, voiceless, and vulnerable among us.

A culture of death inevitably cheapens life in all its stages and conditions by promoting the belief that lives that are imperfect, immature or inconvenient are discardable.  As predicted by many prescient persons, the cheapening of life that began with abortion has now metastasized.  For example, human embryo-destructive research and its public funding are promoted in the name of science and in the cause of developing treatments and cures for diseases and injuries.  The President and many in Congress favor the expansion of embryo-research to include the taxpayer funding of so-called “therapeutic cloning.”  This would result in the industrial mass production of human embryos to be killed for the purpose of producing genetically customized stem cell lines and tissues.  At the other end of life, an increasingly powerful movement to promote assisted suicide and “voluntary” euthanasia threatens the lives of vulnerable elderly and disabled persons.  Eugenic notions such as the doctrine of lebensunwertes Leben (“life unworthy of life”) were first advanced in the 1920s by intellectuals in the elite salons of America and Europe.  Long buried in ignominy after the horrors of the mid-20^th century, they have returned from the grave.  The only difference is that now the doctrines of the eugenicists are dressed up in the language of “liberty,” “autonomy,” and “choice.”

We will be united and untiring in our efforts to roll back the license to kill that began with the abandonment of the unborn to abortion.  We will work, as we have always worked, to bring assistance, comfort, and care to pregnant women in need and to those who have been victimized by abortion, even as we stand resolutely against the corrupt and degrading notion that it can somehow be in the best interests of women to submit to the deliberate killing of their unborn children.  Our message is, and ever shall be, that the just, humane, and truly Christian answer to problem pregnancies is for all of us to love and care for mother and child alike.

A truly prophetic Christian witness will insistently call on those who have been entrusted with temporal power to fulfill the first responsibility of government: to protect the weak and vulnerable against violent attack, and to do so with no favoritism, partiality, or discrimination.  The Bible enjoins us to defend those who cannot defend themselves, to speak for those who cannot themselves speak.  And so we defend and speak for the unborn, the disabled, and the dependent.  What the Bible and the light of reason make clear, we must make clear.  We must be willing to defend, even at risk and cost to ourselves and our institutions, the lives of our brothers and sisters at every stage of development and in every condition.

Our concern is not confined to our own nation.  Around the globe, we are witnessing cases of genocide and “ethnic cleansing,” the failure to assist those who are suffering as innocent victims of war, the neglect and abuse of children, the exploitation of vulnerable laborers, the sexual trafficking of girls and young women, the abandonment of the aged, racial oppression and discrimination, the persecution of believers of all faiths, and the failure to take steps necessary to halt the spread of preventable diseases like AIDS.  We see these travesties as flowing from the same loss of the sense of the dignity of the human person and the sanctity of human life that drives the abortion industry and the movements for assisted suicide, euthanasia, and human cloning for biomedical research.  And so ours is, as it must be, a truly consistent ethic of love and life for all humans in all circumstances.

Marriage
The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man.”  For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. Genesis 2:23-24

This is a profound mystery – but I am talking about Christ and the church.  However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians 5:32-33

In Scripture, the creation of man and woman, and their one-flesh union as husband and wife, is the crowning achievement of God’s creation.  In the transmission of life and the nurturing of children, men and women joined as spouses are given the great honor of being partners with God Himself.   Marriage then, is the first institution of human society – indeed it is the institution on which all other human institutions have their foundation.  In the Christian tradition we refer to marriage as “holy matrimony” to signal the fact that it is an institution ordained by God, and blessed by Christ in his participation at a wedding in Cana of Galilee.  In the Bible, God Himself blesses and holds marriage in the highest esteem.

Vast human experience confirms that marriage is the original and most important institution for sustaining the health, education, and welfare of all persons in a society.  Where marriage is honored, and where there is a flourishing marriage culture, everyone benefits – the spouses themselves, their children, the communities and societies in which they live.  Where the marriage culture begins to erode, social pathologies of every sort quickly manifest themselves.  Unfortunately, we have witnessed over the course of the past several decades a serious erosion of the marriage culture in our own country.   Perhaps the most telling – and alarming – indicator is the out-of-wedlock birth rate.  Less than fifty years ago, it was under 5 percent.  Today it is over 40 percent.  Our society – and particularly its poorest and most vulnerable sectors, where the out-of-wedlock birth rate is much higher even than the national average – is paying a huge price in delinquency, drug abuse, crime, incarceration, hopelessness, and despair.  Other indicators are widespread non-marital sexual cohabitation and a devastatingly high rate of divorce.

We confess with sadness that Christians and our institutions have too often scandalously failed to uphold the institution of marriage and to model for the world the true meaning of marriage.  Insofar as we have too easily embraced the culture of divorce and remained silent about social practices that undermine the dignity of marriage we repent, and call upon all Christians to do the same.
To strengthen families, we must stop glamorizing promiscuity and infidelity and restore among our people a sense of the profound beauty, mystery, and holiness of faithful marital love.  We must reform ill-advised policies that contribute to the weakening of the institution of marriage, including the discredited idea of unilateral divorce.  We must work in the legal, cultural, and religious domains to instill in young people a sound understanding of what marriage is, what it requires, and why it is worth the commitment and sacrifices that faithful spouses make.

The impulse to redefine marriage in order to recognize same-sex and multiple partner relationships is a symptom, rather than the cause, of the erosion of the marriage culture.  It reflects a loss of understanding of the meaning of marriage as embodied in our civil and religious law and in the philosophical tradition that contributed to shaping the law.  Yet it is critical that the impulse be resisted, for yielding to it would mean abandoning the possibility of restoring a sound understanding of marriage and, with it, the hope of rebuilding a healthy marriage culture.  It would lock into place the false and destructive belief that marriage is all about romance and other adult satisfactions, and not, in any intrinsic way, about procreation and the unique character and value of acts and relationships whose meaning is shaped by their aptness for the generation, promotion and protection of life.  In spousal communion and the rearing of children (who, as gifts of God, are the fruit of their parents’ marital love), we discover the profound reasons for and benefits of the marriage covenant.

We acknowledge that there are those who are disposed towards homosexual and polyamorous conduct and relationships, just as there are those who are disposed towards other forms of immoral conduct.  We have compassion for those so disposed; we respect them as human beings possessing profound, inherent, and equal dignity; and we pay tribute to the men and women who strive, often with little assistance, to resist the temptation to yield to desires that they, no less than we, regard as wayward.  We stand with them, even when they falter.  We, no less than they, are sinners who have fallen short of God’s intention for our lives.  We, no less than they, are in constant need of God’s patience, love and forgiveness.  We call on the entire Christian community to resist sexual immorality, and at the same time refrain from disdainful condemnation of those who yield to it.  Our rejection of sin, though resolute, must never become the rejection of sinners.  For every sinner, regardless of the sin, is loved by God, who seeks not our destruction but rather the conversion of our hearts.  Jesus calls all who wander from the path of virtue to “a more excellent way.”  As his disciples we will reach out in love to assist all who hear the call and wish to answer it.

We further acknowledge that there are sincere people who disagree with us, and with the teaching of the Bible and Christian tradition, on questions of sexual morality and the nature of marriage.  Some who enter into same-sex and polyamorous relationships no doubt regard their unions as truly marital.  They fail to understand, however, that marriage is made possible by the sexual complementarity of man and woman, and that the comprehensive, multi-level sharing of life that marriage is includes bodily unity of the sort that unites husband and wife biologically as a reproductive unit.  This is because the body is no mere extrinsic instrument of the human person, but truly part of the personal reality of the human being.  Human beings are not merely centers of consciousness or emotion, or minds, or spirits, inhabiting non-personal bodies.  The human person is a dynamic unity of body, mind, and spirit.  Marriage is what one man and one woman establish when, forsaking all others and pledging lifelong commitment, they found a sharing of life at every level of being – the biological, the emotional, the dispositional, the rational, the spiritual – on a commitment that is sealed, completed and actualized by loving sexual intercourse in which the spouses become one flesh, not in some merely metaphorical sense, but by fulfilling together the behavioral conditions of procreation.  That is why in the Christian tradition, and historically in Western law, consummated marriages are not dissoluble or annullable on the ground of infertility, even though the nature of the marital relationship is shaped and structured by its intrinsic orientation to the great good of procreation.

We understand that many of our fellow citizens, including some Christians, believe that the historic definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman is a denial of equality or civil rights.  They wonder what to say in reply to the argument that asserts that no harm would be done to them or to anyone if the law of the community were to confer upon two men or two women who are living together in a sexual partnership the status of being “married.”  It would not, after all, affect their own marriages, would it?  On inspection, however, the argument that laws governing one kind of marriage will not affect another cannot stand.  Were it to prove anything, it would prove far too much: the assumption that the legal status of one set of marriage relationships affects no other would not only argue for same sex partnerships; it could be asserted with equal validity for polyamorous partnerships, polygamous households, even adult brothers, sisters, or brothers and sisters living in incestuous relationships.  Should these, as a matter of equality or civil rights, be recognized as lawful marriages, and would they have no effects on other relationships?  No.  The truth is that marriage is not something abstract or neutral that the law may legitimately define and re-define to please those who are powerful and influential.

No one has a civil right to have a non-marital relationship treated as a marriage.  Marriage is an objective reality – a covenantal union of husband and wife – that it is the duty of the law to recognize and support for the sake of justice and the common good.  If it fails to do so, genuine social harms follow.  First, the religious liberty of those for whom this is a matter of conscience is jeopardized.  Second, the rights of parents are abused as family life and sex education programs in schools are used to teach children that an enlightened understanding recognizes as “marriages” sexual partnerships that many parents believe are intrinsically non-marital and immoral.  Third, the common good of civil society is damaged when the law itself, in its critical pedagogical function, becomes a tool for eroding a sound understanding of marriage on which the flourishing of the marriage culture in any society vitally depends.  Sadly, we are today far from having a thriving marriage culture.  But if we are to begin the critically important process of reforming our laws and mores to rebuild such a culture, the last thing we can afford to do is to re-define marriage in such a way as to embody in our laws a false proclamation about what marriage is.

And so it is out of love (not “animus”) and prudent concern for the common good (not “prejudice”), that we pledge to labor ceaselessly to preserve the legal definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman and to rebuild the marriage culture.  How could we, as Christians, do otherwise?  The Bible teaches us that marriage is a central part of God’s creation covenant.  Indeed, the union of husband and wife mirrors the bond between Christ and his church.  And so just as Christ was willing, out of love, to give Himself up for the church in a complete sacrifice, we are willing, lovingly, to make whatever sacrifices are required of us for the sake of the inestimable treasure that is marriage.

The struggle for religious liberty across the centuries has been long and arduous, but it is not a novel idea or recent development.  The nature of religious liberty is grounded in the character of God Himself, the God who is most fully known in the life and work of Jesus Christ.  Determined to follow Jesus faithfully in life and death, the early Christians appealed to the manner in which the Incarnation had taken place: “Did God send Christ, as some suppose, as a tyrant brandishing fear and terror?  Not so, but in gentleness and meekness…, for compulsion is no attribute of God” (Epistle to Diognetus 7.3-4).  Thus the right to religious freedom has its foundation in the example of Christ Himself and in the very dignity of the human person created in the image of God – a dignity, as our founders proclaimed, inherent in every human, and knowable by all in the exercise of right reason.
Christians confess that God alone is Lord of the conscience.  Immunity from religious coercion is the cornerstone of an unconstrained conscience.  No one should be compelled to embrace any religion against his will, nor should persons of faith be forbidden to worship God according to the dictates of conscience or to express freely and publicly their deeply held religious convictions.  What is true for individuals applies to religious communities as well.

It is ironic that those who today assert a right to kill the unborn, aged and disabled and also a right to engage in immoral sexual practices, and even a right to have relationships integrated around these practices be recognized and blessed by law – such persons claiming these “rights” are very often in the vanguard of those who would trample upon the freedom of others to express their religious and moral commitments to the sanctity of life and to the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife.

We see this, for example, in the effort to weaken or eliminate conscience clauses, and therefore to compel pro-life institutions (including religiously affiliated hospitals and clinics), and pro-life physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other health care professionals, to refer for abortions and, in certain cases, even to perform or participate in abortions.  We see it in the use of anti-discrimination statutes to force religious institutions, businesses, and service providers of various sorts to comply with activities they judge to be deeply immoral or go out of business.  After the judicial imposition of “same-sex marriage” in Massachusetts, for example, Catholic Charities chose with great reluctance to end its century-long work of helping to place orphaned children in good homes rather than comply with a legal mandate that it place children in same-sex households in violation of Catholic moral teaching.  In New Jersey, after the establishment of a quasi-marital “civil unions” scheme, a Methodist institution was stripped of its tax exempt status when it declined, as a matter of religious conscience, to permit a facility it owned and operated to be used for ceremonies blessing homosexual unions.  In Canada and some European nations, Christian clergy have been prosecuted for preaching Biblical norms against the practice of homosexuality.  New hate-crime laws in America raise the specter of the same practice here.

In recent decades a growing body of case law has paralleled the decline in respect for religious values in the media, the academy and political leadership, resulting in restrictions on the free exercise of religion.  We view this as an ominous development, not only because of its threat to the individual liberty guaranteed to every person, regardless of his or her faith, but because the trend also threatens the common welfare and the culture of freedom on which our system of republican government is founded.  Restrictions on the freedom of conscience or the ability to hire people of one’s own faith or conscientious moral convictions for religious institutions, for example, undermines the viability of the intermediate structures of society, the essential buffer against the overweening authority of the state, resulting in the soft despotism Tocqueville so prophetically warned of.¹ Disintegration of civil society is a prelude to tyranny.

As Christians, we take seriously the Biblical admonition to respect and obey those in authority.  We believe in law and in the rule of law.  We recognize the duty to comply with laws whether we happen to like them or not, unless the laws are gravely unjust or require those subject to them to do something unjust or otherwise immoral.  The biblical purpose of law is to preserve order and serve justice and the common good; yet laws that are unjust – and especially laws that purport to compel citizens to do what is unjust – undermine the common good, rather than serve it.

Going back to the earliest days of the church, Christians have refused to compromise their proclamation of the gospel.  In Acts 4, Peter and John were ordered to stop preaching.  Their answer was, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”  Through the centuries, Christianity has taught that civil disobedience is not only permitted, but sometimes required.  There is no more eloquent defense of the rights and duties of religious conscience than the one offered by Martin Luther King, Jr., in his Letter from a Birmingham Jail.  Writing from an explicitly Christian perspective, and citing Christian writers such as Augustine and Aquinas, King taught that just laws elevate and ennoble human beings because they are rooted in the moral law whose ultimate source is God Himself.  Unjust laws degrade human beings.  Inasmuch as they can claim no authority beyond sheer human will, they lack any power to bind in conscience.  King’s willingness to go to jail, rather than comply with legal injustice, was exemplary and inspiring.

Because we honor justice and the common good, we will not comply with any edict that purports to compel our institutions to participate in abortions, embryo-destructive research, assisted suicide and euthanasia, or any other anti-life act; nor will we bend to any rule purporting to force us to bless immoral sexual partnerships, treat them as marriages or the equivalent, or refrain from proclaiming the truth, as we know it, about morality and immorality and marriage and the family.  We will fully and ungrudgingly render to Caesar what is Caesar’s.  But under no circumstances will we render to Caesar what is God’s.
