As we bask in the afterglow of Missouri’s Proposition C, and the failure by the Feds to obtain dismissal of Virginia’s lawsuit against ObamaCare, it is once again time to revisit what should be the strategy of Conservatives in Congress (and those seeking office in 2010!) to re-affirm the will of the people in health care?

If I may humbly offer my best suggestion; the time is NOW for Conservative lawmakers to craft, UNANIMOUSLY Co-Sponsor and introduce new legislation that would:

· REPEAL

· REPLACE

· REFORM

· RESTORE

REPEAL AND REPLACE: Simultaneously! We cannot simply repeal ObamaCare and leave a void. We must simultaneously REPLACE it with the HealthCare Bill we WOULD have liked in the first place. The bill’s opening statement should read something to the effect that: “The Affordable HealthCare Act of 2009 is hereby repealed in its entirety and replaced by the following…”

REFORM: The replacement bill must address the real problems in the pre-ObamaCare healthcare system. It must provide for purchasing insurance across state lines. It must sensibly address pre-existing condition exclusions. It should ALLOW cafeteria-style coverages; so a 20-year old healthy single male may reduce costs by purchasing a policy that does NOT cover pregnancy and mammograms… Or a 65 year old woman can choose a plan that covers long term care, but doesn’t include prenatal vitamins and well-baby care! It should expand HSAs. It should ENCOURAGE private sector competition. It MUST include Tort Reform and malpractice insurance reform. It must CLEARLY DENY any federal funds in any form, at any time, for abortion services – and must restrict funding to any organization which provides abortion services or referrals in such a manner as to insure no funds can be redirected toward such services – whether domestically or abroad.

RESTORE: The legislation must RESTORE the Republic by re-affirming the supremacy of individual liberty and of State-Sovereignty. It must re-affirm the constitutional LIMITATION on the Federal Government. It must DENOUNCE federal mandates upon individuals. It should make a clear statement that the Federal Government acknowledges its limited role, and its requirement to govern by the consent of the governed.

Once this legislation is crafted – it should be IMMEDIATELY introduced, in both the House and the Senate Simultaneously, bearing the co-sponsorship signatures of EVERY member who wishes to be considered Conservative and liberty-loving.

Every conservative candidate seeking a Freshman House or Senate seat should, as a requirement of endorsements and campaign assistance, be required to pledge to co-sponsor and vote for the bill, should they be elected.

The 2010 elections should be FRAMED as the opportunity to rid us of ObamaCare once and for all – and it should be the first act of the Congress upon swearing in of the new session in 2011.

If this simple plan is adopted and implemented – not only will ObamaCare be ended early in 2011, but if properly communicated to the American Public – will result in a massive turnover of power in the halls of Washington .

Then the Conservative Congress can turn their attention to Un-Doing the rest of the damage done by the Pelosi-Reid Congress!

Common sense, (unhappily) not very common these days, dictates that under ObamaCare healthcare rationing in the US is a given. Even Obama’s new Czar of Medicare and Medicaid has said so.

Donald Berwick having been installed in the position by the Obama Regime’s “Recess Appointment” (While Congress is out of session) will hold that position, come hell or high water, until the end of the year 2011 (roughly 17 months).

With the use of the Recess Appointment Obama managed to get HIS man in the position HE wanted him without a Senate hearing or even a Senate vote on his nomination.

See how easy it was for tricky Obama to by-pass the Senate and, even more importantly, the American people, to get his way?

You know, I remember when folks used to complain and accuse President Richard Nixon of being an Imperial President! Can you imagine that? I mean, compared to Obama, Richard Nixon was a choirboy and a presidential piker!

Of course, Obama had good cause… very good cause. The very last thing Obama wants is for the American people to actually understand what Obamacare is going to do to the practice of medicine and healthcare as a whole in the United States. So, he HAD to recess appoint Berwick. There was no question of him ever going before a Senate hearing.

You can bet that had Berwick been subjected to a Senate hearing he would have been hit, immediately, by republican interrogators about his support for rationing of healthcare for the American people. Think Obama could risk that? Hell, NO!

Here is the Berwick quote they would have leaped upon instantly: “The decision is not whether or not we will ration care, the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open.” Oh, it gets better (or worse – depending upon your viewpoint!).

Here is a quote taken from a speech Berwick made to a British audience back in 2008: “Any healthcare funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized, and humane must, must redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent healthcare is by definition redistribution.”(SOURCE)

Redistributional? Is that like S O C I A L I S M?

NOW do you understand why Obama and his regime had to keep Dr. Donald Berwick under wraps until Obama could make the recess appointment a done deal and the American people would have no chance to stop him?

All this time I thought America had no king!  How utterly stupid of me!  I suspect if you look up “Imperial President” in a dictionary you will find Obama’s photo.

Look, if the American people are to rescue the healthcare system in America from socialized medicine then we have to defund and repeal ObamaCare. We can only get that done if we toss out as many democrats at the polls in November as we possibly can.

Remember in November!

Many Conservatives are worried that they won’t be able to maintain the high level of outrage at the Obama Regime and the democrats/socialists until the election in November. That concern is not without merit.

Politicians tend to exploit the short memories of their constituents. The American electorate has the shortest collective memory of any people on the planet. The democrats are counting on it to save their behinds in November.

Meantime, they plan to hand out a few goodies by way of ObamaCare between now and November 2^nd, as well. Yes, ObamaCare WAS deliberately “front-loaded” with a number of the more popular portions of the new law to, shall we say, pacify the masses. And yes, they ARE treating us as though we are children. Sadly, they are not very far off the mark. And that is what is so worrisome.

Already, the dems are shamelessly buying votes with their mortgage bailouts for homeowners unable to make their house payments. There will be many such acts of Obama largesse between now and November.

These should be reminders to Americans that the democrats have just reached into our pockets and stripped as much money from us as they could find — for the moment.

Just a few days ago, a number of major corporations announced the millions, and even billions, of dollars ObamaCare will cost them possibly leading them to drop retiree’s insurance and causing major lay-offs of employees as the corporations attempt to off-set the losses caused them by ObamaCare.

With the predictability of a Stalinist regime, the democrats have summoned the heads of a number of the corporations to Washington to prove their claimed losses before committees made up, primarily, of Obama lap-dogs whose job it is to cover Obama’s behind. (I wonder if they have any idea just how ridiculous they appear to their fellow Americans out here in the hinterlands?)

Then—there is the shortage of doctors and other healthcare professionals. There are reports that as much as 40-some-odd percent of American doctors practicing today intend to quit, or retire, and walk away, as a result of ObamaCare. They simply do not want to become “government apparatchiks.” I mean – think about it. Why would anyone want to spend 8 to 12 years, or more, in school to earn a degree just to work for a salary from the government, rather than setting up their own business, hanging out a shingle, and practicing medicine as God intended? They don’t want to take orders from the government about whom they will treat, how they will treat them, and when they will treat them, and with what equipment they will treat them.

When nearly half of this nations doctors decide to just walk away, that has got to put a crimp in things — especially when you consider that we already have a doctor shortage in America. A BIG one!

So, ask yourself – where will all the doctors come from to treat the current patient load — plus the 32 million more who will be dumped into the system in 2014? Will the government import doctors from overseas? They’ll have too! Then you have to ask: How will the patients of those imported doctors know the doctors assigned to them have been trained to the high standards Americans have always demanded of their medical professionals? The answer, of course, is: we won’t!

There is no question the healthcare system in America will be overloaded. The high quality of healthcare will most certainly decline. And there will be rationing of healthcare…quality healthcare, at the very least. I know you don’t want to hear that, you don’t want to believe that, but healthcare rationing IS coming to America. Under ObamaCare, there is no way to avoid it.

Look, common sense dictates the use of healthcare rationing. How else will so few doctors provide healthcare for so many? It cannot be done without rationing of healthcare. And yet, the Obama Regime and his cohorts in the Congress have lied to the American people — yet again!

As the evidence of the Obama Regime’s lies and the congressional lies become ever more obvious to the American electorate, the level of outrage at the progressives, socialists, Marxists, Maoists, Stalinists, and just plain communists in America’s government today will only grow hotter. Remembering in November will not be a problem.

The dunces in the Congress, both houses, apparently still do not get the message the American people have been sending them loudly and clearly over the past few months. Even AFTER the election of the 41st vote against ObamaCare, they insist the American people want healthcare reform.

They are absolutely wrong!

As an American “people,” myself, I can attest to the fact that we want nothing to do with government-run, government controlled, government sponsored, so-called universal healthcare, otherwise known as ObamaCare.

Some leftists organizations who pretend and, in some cases, presume to speak for their membership, and for the American people as a whole, insist to the Congress that we DO want government sponsored and/or government-run healthcare reform. THEY, TOO, ARE WRONG!

What we want is for the government to get the hell out of it and allow the free market to work in the healthcare industry as it does in any and every kind of business in America. At least it USED to before the socialist in the White House, and those in Congress, began to meddle in the business affairs of the country.

The Democrats are busy looking for a way, anyway, to save face for their president, Obama. They KNOW his presidency, so far, has been a failure and will be recorded by history as such. But if they can get a bill, any bill, he can sign that will provide the appearance of having accomplished something, anything, in his first year in office, it will, they think, counter balance, or mitigate, history’s record of Obama’s failure as a President.

They are partly correct in thinking that. I mean, how often do you read, see, or hear, when references are made to former President Bill Clinton, that he was impeached? EVER? That’s what I thought.

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) has said a decision on exactly how to proceed should not be long in coming. Schumer said: “That doesn’t mean we’re going to sit here and twiddle our thumbs for weeks and weeks and weeks, but it’ll take a few days to figure out what the best solution is,” he said.

A word of wisdom to the good Senator from New York: “Senator, LEAVE IT ALONE! DROP IT and LET IT GO!”

It IS conceivable the Dems will use their old trick of Incrementalism to get ObamaCare passed, anyway, right in front of our eyes, without us seeing it. They will take the bill apart, literally, and pass bits of it, one bit at a time, until they have ObamaCare passed into law. In fact, Pelosi has said: “One way or another, those areas of agreement that we have, will have to be advanced, whether it’s by passing the Senate bill with any changes that can be made or just taking pieces of it. “

We must be even more vigilant, now, than ever. The Democratic Party is wounded and a wounded animal is at its most dangerous when it is hurt and afraid.

The Obama Regime has not given up on securing major healthcare reform. They have yet to grasp the truth that the American people are far more concerned over the country’s economic mess than in government-run healthcare – ObamaCare.

Many democrats are fearful the President will take a stand for a renewed effort at passing ObamaCare this year in his State of the Union Address. Many in the President’s own party want ObamaCare scuttled and off the board, completely. They are taking heat from their constituents back home to do something about the economy and the abysmal unemployment figures. They have begun to understand the American people already have their priorities straight. Fix the economy FIRST! Do it NOW!

The “Far Left” is pouring on the coal and stoking the fires under the dems to stay with ObamaCare until they get it passed — anyway they can. The Far Left has expended a huge amount of money, energy, and effort in their campaign to reshape public opinion toward government-run healthcare. They are giving democrats in the House and the Senate “fits.” The pressure is intense. But, hey, the politicians asked for the job!

The old expression: “It ain’t over ‘til the fat lady sings!” certainly applies here. Actually, try as I might, I can’t even see the fat lady in the wings!

No, I don’t think it is over. Maybe it is my natural paranoia, but I cannot get past the feeling that the dems will continue to press ObamaCare in hopes of wearing down the resolve of the American people and finally, finally, get it passed into law.

Now, I have a question to ask: When did the relationship between the American people and their government become adversarial?? I can’t put my finger on a date, but I think the cause is the absence of term limits. When a politician stays 18, 20, or 24 years in Washington, DC, instead of at home with his friends and relatives and the people he purportedly represents, he/she loses touch. Caught up in the grandiosity of the nation’s capitol he/she begins to think in elitist terms. Consciously, or not, he/she BECOMES a member of the ruling elite. When that happens the ties between him/her and his/her constituents is severed. He/she no longer represents the constituent. He/she represents the government. He/she, and his former constituents, are then adversaries. That is where we find ourselves in modern day America — us against them.

The American people are angry, angrier than I have ever seen them. If you think the anger of the Massachusetts voters, in a BLUE state, no less, was hot, test the white-hot heat of rage in the RED states!

There are nine months, and a few days, until the Mid-Term Election in November. If the election were held today there would be a massacre of incumbents at the polls. As if stands today, even if the rage cools somewhat in the intervening months, incumbents can still expect a political blood bath at the polls this fall. Americans do not suffer fools lightly.

Back on January 12, 1848, Abraham Lincoln said the following: “Any people, anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable and most sacred right – a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people that can, may revolutionize, and make their own, of so many of the territory as they inhabit.” Those words should be engraved in stone over the doors to the US Senate, the US House of Representatives, and most certainly, over the door to the Oval Office.

White House Prepares To Force Its Will On Conference Committee

House Members Declare “Public Option” A Must For Passage Of “ObamaCare”

Watch for all the “stuff” mentioned in the headlines above this commentary to become fact in the next few weeks. As a matter of fact some of it has already happened. A number of US House of representatives members are demanding that the Public Option, a government run health Insurance company, be put back in the Healthcare bill before it will get their support. Truth be told – I don’t believe a word they say.

Want to know what’s going to happen? OK. There will be this great show, complete with weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, and then the House will pass the bill. Simple. All the fuss and bother is sorta like the old magician’s trick of “misdirection.” While you are watching the show, the real work is going on behind the scenes and the bill WILL be passed – and America will be shafted!

Look, if the White House can get it’s people into the conference committee’s meeting room, the White House “muscle” will take over and literally RUN the Conference Committee. The fascists from the White House have no problem forcing their will on Senators and they sure as heck have no problem with pushing a few lowly Congresspersons around.

Yes! Of course, this is “Stalinist” behavior by the leaders of our current government in the Executive Branch of our government! We have told you many times in the past that THIS White House is unlike any before it. This is a Socialist, Marxist, and Communist White House and they are certainly not above using Stalinist tactics to get what they want. It is an oligarchy! A handful of people have completely by-passed the legislative branch of the government and are running the government their way, which is … as a Marxist state! They are running the country with their klatch of White House “Czars!” They don’t NEED a Congress, except for show – to provide cover for their nefarious strong arm activities in the shadows. Too strong, you say? Well what would you call it when the White House threatens to shut down an Air Force Base in a certain state if the senator from that certain state does not quit stalling and support Obama’s healthcare bill in the Senate? Sounds nefarious to me! Yes, THIS White House has made the Congress totally dispensable, totally expendable, and totally meaningless.

So, what is in the healthcare bill for us to be afraid of? Huh? Again – truth be told—NOBODY KNOWS! It hasn’t even been written yet! Oh, sure, there are some “hard copies” of bits and pieces of “stuff” proposed for the bill, but the actual bill, the bill Congress will eventually vote on, has yet to be written. This frenetic rush, to get a bill passed, was all a part of the scheme to hit us, the American people, hard and fast. So fast, that we would not be able to react quick enough to stop the stream roller effect — and — if their plan worked, the bill would be the Law Of The Land before you and I even knew what hit us.

But, as is so often the case, a few of us old screwballs, you know, “nutz” like us who still believe in the Constitution, (For you graduates of the Public School System in America, the Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It is one of our founding documents. I understand you may never have heard of it, but you can easily look it up on the Internet and read it for yourself. It is actually easy to understand — when you read it for yourself — and not have it interpreted for you by a Liberal/Socialist/Marxist/Progressive/Communist judge. Try it. You’ll learn some things!) and have been around the political block a few times, took one look at it and saw right through the ruse and began alerting everyone we could about “the scam” the Socialists in the White House, and the Congress, were perpetrating on their fellow countrymen.

I came across a short list of just a handful of concerns about the proposals for the bill from a LIBERAL blog site, of all places. Take a look at these:
It forces you to pay up to 8 percent of your income to private insurance corporations — whether you want to or not.

If you refuse to buy the insurance, you’ll have to pay penalties of up to 2 percent of your annual income to the Internal Revenue Service.

After being forced to pay thousands in premiums for junk insurance, you can still be on the hook for up to $11,900 a year in out-of-pocket medical expenses.

Many of the taxes to pay for the bill start now, but most Americans won’t see any benefits — like an end to discrimination against those with pre-existing conditions — until 2014 when the program begins.

It allows insurance companies to charge older people 300 percent more than other customers.
The cost of medical care will continue to rise, and insurance premiums for a family of four will rise an average of $1,000 a year — meaning in 10 years, you family’s insurance premium will be $10,000 more annually than it is right now.

The bottom line is this: The Socialist/Stalinists in the White House are going to pass the healthcare bill no matter what the American people want. They entered the White House with the sole purpose of “changing” (remember that word – CHANGE) into a “hell-hole” of a third world country where everyone SUFFERS equally!) And, to be honest, they are making tremendous progress. Look at our national economic situation and look at the millions already out of work and soon to be joined by millions more until we reach somewhere around 20 to 23 percent unemployment. There are reports floating around to the effect that the 10% unemployment figure is not to be believed. They tell us the true figure is closer to 13% and closing fairly rapidly on 17%. Controlling the flow of accurate information to the people of the country IS Stalinist behavior.

Yes, we live in a very different America today than was envisaged by the Founding Fathers. I suspect that if they could see us now they would be asking how we ever allowed it to progress THIS far. The answer: Apathy and Ignorance instilled in at least one generation (and at least part of another) of Americans through the government controlled Public Education System which has become little more than Government Indoctrination Centers.

A fight is coming. Whether it will be a hot fight or a cold fight will be determined later as it unfolds. But rest assured a fight is coming and it is going to get VERY UGLY! The chickens are being plucked and the tar is being heated, as brand new rails are being split from those endangered trees we hear far too much about.

The ONLY C H A N G E Obama has been able to successfully accomplish, that I can tell, is changing this country from a Democratic Representative Republic, to a Socialist/Stalinist oligarchy. How long now until the official government approved greeting for Americans, one to another, will be “Comrade?” Not long, I suspect!

In the continually harsh public discourse over the President’s proposals for federally-managed healthcare, the Big Government progressives in both the Democratic and the Republican parties have been trying to trick us. These folks, who really want the government to care for us from cradle to grave, have been promoting the idea that health care is a right. In promoting that false premise, they have succeeded in moving the debate from WHETHER the feds should micro-manage health care to HOW the feds should micro-manage health care. This is a false premise, and we should reject it. Health care is not a right; it is a good, like food, like shelter, and like clothing.

What is a right? A right is a gift from God that extends from our humanity. Thinkers from St. Thomas Aquinas, to Thomas Jefferson, to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to Pope John Paul II have all argued that our rights are a natural part of our humanity. We own our bodies, thus we own the gifts that emanate from our bodies. So, our right to life, our right to develop our personalities, our right to think as we wish, to say what we think, to publish what we say, our right to worship or not worship, our right to travel, to defend ourselves, to use our own property as we see fit, our right to due process—fairness—from the government, and our right to be left alone, are all rights that stem from our humanity. These are natural rights that we are born with. The government doesn’t give them to us and the government doesn’t pay for them and the government can’t take them away, unless a jury finds that we have violated someone else’s rights.

What is a good? A good is something we want or need. In a sense, it is the opposite of a right. We have our rights from birth, but we need our parents when we are children and we need ourselves as adults to purchase the goods we require for existence. So, food is a good, shelter is a good, clothing is a good, education is a good, a car is a good, legal representation is a good, working out at a gym is a good, and access to health care is a good. Does the government give us goods? Well, sometimes it takes money from some of us and gives that money to others. You can call that taxation or you can call it theft; but you cannot call it a right.
A right stems from our humanity. A good is something you buy or someone else buys for you.

Now, when you look at health care for what it is, when you look at the US Constitution, when you look at the history of human freedom, when you accept the American value of the primacy of the individual over the fleeting wishes of the government, it becomes apparent that those who claim that healthcare is a right simply want to extend a form of government welfare.

When I make this argument to my Big Government friends, they come back at me with…well, if people don’t have health insurance, they will just go to hospitals and we will end up paying for them anyway. Why should that be? We don’t let people steal food from a supermarket or an apartment from a landlord or clothing from a local shop. Why do we let them take healthcare from a hospital without paying for itl? Well, my Big Government friends contend, that’s charity.

They are wrong again. It is impossible to be charitable with someone else’s money. Charity comes from your own heart, not from the government spending your money. When we pay our taxes to the government and it gives that money away, that’s not charity, that’s welfare. When the government takes more from us than it needs to secure our freedoms, so it can have money to give away, that’s not charity, that’s theft. And when the government forces hospitals to provide free health care to those who can’t or won’t care for themselves, that’s not charity, that’s slavery. That’s why we now have constitutional chaos, because the government steals and enslaves, and we outlawed that a long time ago.

So here we are just days before Christmas. The familiar stories of the controversial baby Jesus laying in a manger and the controversial words ‘Merry Christmas’ have been noted. What is so dangerous about a baby in a manger is beyond me? I think I know the real reason it is offensive. It’s because of fear. No, not the fear in the back of some atheists mind that set off a terrible thought about what if this story is real (take heed, it is by the way). The fear of governments around the world of their own people is what I am talking about.

Government’s use fear to control the masses. We have seen this with the healthcare debate. Obama doesn’t offer solutions. He offers fear. Fear about what will happen to the country if this bill doesn’t pass it will cause the country to go bankrupt. (In case you haven’t looked, Obama has pretty much put us in bankruptcy. Read what the Chinese said about American bonds the other day.) Fear that you won’t get healthcare, even though no emergency room closes its doors to anyone. It’s all about fear. It’s what the government uses to manipulate people into a belief.

Global warming is the same way. It’s all based around fear. That’s why you hear stupid comments like we only have fifty days to do something or it will be too late, a quote by the United Kingdom’s Gordon Brown. He said it over fifty days ago.

Anything that is meaningful and sacred in our society is slowly being robbed from us by labeling it controversial. God is being removed from our society. I joke that when In God We Trust is finally removed from our money forever, I will keep my Sharpie out and make sure some of the money sees it again. God is also being removed from Christmas celebrations. In fact, when you question why Christian symbols of the holiday are removed from certain Christmas activities, the fringed left asks why do you hate. There is nothing hateful about the true story of Christmas. It’s a story of love. So why all the negativity?

It comes down to this. The less faith you have in yourself and in a higher power and calling, the better it is for those who want to lead you and control you. Faith in god removes fear. Christians know they are to pray and leave it to God. When you leave it to God, theoretically, fear is no longer the issue. Faith overpowers fear. Without fear, you can’t control the masses.

This is why religion was nearly shut out of the USSR and is nearly nonexistent in places like China. God in those countries is the government. They are the providers and the ultimate authority, or so they think. Each of those countries use fear to control their masses, and they have effectively done so by wiping out the possibility of faith. You can see the attempts to do the same thing here in the United States. Those who criticize the Christian aspect of the season have merely fallen for this poisonous statist belief. Sure, it’s been masked and they will either never see it as that or never admit to it. That’s what it comes down to. (Thanks to Left Coast Rebel for the inspiration.)

On Wednesday night President Obama threw a universal healthcare Hail Mary. The call? Incomplete pass.

His much anticipated address to a joint session of Congress promised to finally – for real, this time – provide details about his “healthcare reform plan” (the government takeover of about 20 percent of America’s once free market).

Instead, the President regurgitated the same worn-out talking points, tired platitudes and baseless rhetoric he’s been spouting for months, generating more confusion than clarity.

As his approval ratings sink faster than an Olds off the bridge Chappaquiddick, the speech- giver-in-chief’s latest lecture was a transparently desperate attempt to salvage his signature issue and, by extension, the very presidency he’s wagered on it. He even went so far as to breathlessly suggest this time that a failure to implement his governmental healthcare scheme means that “more Americans will die.” It was embarrassing.

This was Obama’s umpteenth healthcare homily amid an average of more than one speech per day since he’s taken office. True, it’s better he should run his mouth than actually attempt to govern, but, nonetheless, it’s become annoying that he continues to stubbornly refuse America’s, “Not only no but h— no,” answer to his persistent “pretty please.”

“I am not the first president to take up this cause, but I am determined to be the last,” he proclaimed. To that end he may succeed. Indeed, in light of America’s boisterous rejection of his socialist vision, future presidents may avoid – like Harry Reid avoids Nevada – the polarizing issue altogether.

As for the speech: I’ll leave it to other pundits to tackle the President’s arrogantly partisan, condescending and less-than-convincing Windy City tough-guy tone. Instead, I want to address – at the risk of being “called out” by chief thug, Rahm Emanuel (scary, I know) – the fact that Obama, with a straight face, repeatedly lied to the American people (the teleprompter made him do it). I was reminded of my eight year-old, standing before me with chocolaty crumb covered cheeks, saying, “Cookie? What cookie?”

The presidential untruths were plentiful, ranging from “death panel” denials to promises of illegal immigrant exclusions. But, for now, let’s focus on one POTUS’ double whopper:

During his speech the President assured us: “Under our plan no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.” So, naturally, Planned Parenthood, NOW, NARAL and all the other lefty pro-abort wactivist groups are up in arms today, decrying the President for discriminating against women and setting back “reproductive rights” by decades.

Yeah, right. Not a peep. And the silence is deafening. Obama – in a clear attempt to placate the vast majority of Americans who refuse to allow their hard earned money to go toward dismembering the smallest of their fellow citizens – made the disingenuous claim with the standard winky-winky-noddy-nod to his pro-abort, man-hating feminist toadies.

However, as Cybercast News has pointed out: “The House bill mandates that government- run insurance exchanges where people would buy insurance with government subsidies include at least one plan that covers abortion. Also, committees in both the House and Senate rejected amendments that would have explicitly forbid (sic) federal money from going to pay for abortion under the plan.”

The Capps Amendment even affirmatively permits taxpayer funded insurers to cover abortions, requiring “that at least one insurer in the federal insurance exchange” does so. Furthermore, the Secretary of Health and Human Services – pro-abortion radical Kathleen Sebelius – gets “to decide if the public option itself would provide abortion coverage.” (Wonder how that’ll work out for the unborn?)

Then there’s Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD). She successfully lobbied the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee to adopt an Amendment that would require insurers accepting federal tax dollars to cover services provided by groups such as Planned Parenthood. (Last time I checked, they weren’t performing skin exfoliations.)

In fact, when specifically asked by Utah Sen. Orin Hatch whether the plan will require taxpayer funded abortions, Mikulski was forced to admit that “it would provide for any service deemed medically necessary or medically appropriate.”

When additionally asked to include language that would expressly prohibit abortion coverage, Mikulski responded: “No. I would not be willing to do that at this time.”

The abortion mandate alone is a deal breaker for the majority of Americans and Obama knows that. So he had to lie. It’s just too bad for him that the American people aren’t nearly as stupid as he gives them credit for.
