Planning to circumvent the Senate’s deliberative process is not a sign of good faith. Releasing the President’s proposal four days prior to his so called bipartisan meeting so that the CBO will not have time to analyze its costs is not a sign of good faith. These are signs of the arrogance of absolute power gone mad.
Obama is not willing to enter into health care negotiations with Republicans without preconditions.
In inviting Republicans to the negotiating table for the first time later this month, Obama has imposed the precondition that the negotiations start with the Democratic versions of health care legislation.
A government that matches our decency and embodies our strength is long overdue. Unfortunately, our dumbed down electorate and agenda driven mass media combined to elect an idiot savant who persists on a course to certain destruction. Destroying industries and the jobs they support is not decency.
Where do I even start this morning? I woke earlier than usual and pulled up Memeorandum (aggregated news) to find what the chatter and fallout is this morning, surprise, surprise the left is in a tizzy with infighting, finger pointing, name calling, blame-pinning and all other kinds of goodies. In fact, there is so much of it I don’t even know where to start.
Despite a flurry of last minute negative advertisements, an emergency stumping trip by Obama over the weekend, and threats by one liberal commentator that he would “cheat to keep these bastards out” by voting ten or twenty times, Brown was pushed by a Tea party type surge over the top to a decisive victory. This despite being behind Coakley by double digits in the polls just one month ago. …
President Obama has repeatedly bragged how he would finish what FDR started. His regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein, even wrote a book outlining how government (not We the People) would finally be free from the constraints of the Constitution: “The Second Bill of Rights.” Sunstein’s thesis – that there are no God-given or natural rights, but basically rights that the government gives or takes away according to its own expediency and caprice.
Legitimate questions have been raised about how Obamacare is going to be paid for, and it appears that this is going to be the start. If ANYONE deserves to have free, outstanding healthcare for life, it is our veterans who served and continue to serve honorably. Instead, they are being hit to help give healthcare to illegals and fund abortions for the feministas (It’s their eucharist).
Ted Kennedy helped the health insurance companies fail the consumers. Kennedy drove key legislation that allowed the HMO’s many Americans complain about. Ted Kennedy should be the symbol of failed health care in the United States, and the fact his name is driving the health care bill in Congress should alarm the people of Massachusetts who face a critical vote that could very well kill the health care bill.
An unapologetic Harry Reid commented, “A number of states are treateddifferently than other states. That’s what legislation’s all about: compromise.” Meaning those that held out were had even more taxpayer money redistributed to their states. As usual, those standing against the government takeover got the shortest end of the financial stick while those rolling over to the pressure from above reaped the rewards of their treachery.
Regarding nullification and health care, there’s already a growing movement right now. Led by Arizona, voters in a number of states may get a chance to approve State Constitutional Amendments in 2010 that would effectively ban national health care in their states.
The list is subjective; based on an analysis of the past year’s headlines and anticipated events. It incorporates on-going, often long term concerns that Americans have expressed.
This was Obama’s umpteenth healthcare homily amid an average of more than one speech per day since he’s taken office. True, it’s better he should run his mouth than actually attempt to govern, but, nonetheless, it’s become annoying that he continues to stubbornly refuse America’s, “Not only no but h— no,” answer to his persistent “pretty please.”
So what about the defenseless among us who are already born? What might be in store for the severely disabled, the terminally ill and the “better off dead”? Will decisions be made by an ethical medical professional or a bioethics panel? What should we expect if the Obama administration gets its way?
Why is it so difficult for the democrats to understand that Americans would have settled for insurance coverage for those unable to afford it? THAT we could do. It would be a strain but we could manage to pay for it. What Americans do not want is Universal Healthcare with a trillion and a half dollar price tag, which we cannot pay for!
America, are you reading this? These people are making economics out of death! Beyond that, they are projecting savings that can be achieved if you die early. Combine that with their other actions, and it appears that they are trying to save a buck! Isn’t that what the left hates about the “evil” insurance companies? There is a difference though…the state wants to industrialize and manage it at the federal level!
So here you have it, a dry run for the Obama Administration’s performance on nationalized health care. All vast governmental forces were focused on a single disease rather than the entire gamut of America’s health care problems. There was no greedy, profit–riddled private sector in this fight, only the saintly public option. The result?
Thanks to the liberals in Congress, there is a very good chance that government-run health care will be a reality. Over fifty percent of Americans don’t want it, but that matters not a whit to the folks in Washington. They view themselves as an aristocracy, and besides, they won’t have to use the crappy programs that you’ll be forced to endure.
In his 2004 book “The Second Bill of Rights,” Sunstein used the precedent of the Great Depression to point out that historic economic crises “provided the most promising conditions for the emergence of socialism in the U.S.”
Over the past few months we have attempted to warn you about the freedom Americans will lose if the Healthcare bills, which have come to known as ObamaCare, are passed into law by the US Congress. Yet, some of the latest polls show the American people are split almost fifty-fifty in favor of and against the bills now making their way through the Congress.
When treason prospers none dare call it treason and when liars prosper none dare speak the truth. Our public discourse is getting more and more surreal as everyone on both sides who has studied the health care issue know for a fact that Obama lied about numerous issues. This is how I imagine things must have been in the Soviet Union under Stalin.
In view of the rant currently being propagated by the Pallimed blog, which is a commentary on news and items of interest to hospice and palliative medicine, there is a need to dig deeper and explore the underlying philosophy among those who are outraged that people like me are saying something negative about their agenda.
In recent days, the Healthcare Debate has been headline news, as ordinary people (who are not usually seen at protests or at town hall meetings) are transitioning from merely shouting at their TV to getting out and directly expressing their displeasure and their concerns to their representatives.
Let us not forget what happened just prior to implementation of the Nazis’ “Final Solution.” They established a policy of direct medical killing. They arranged the means through medical channels whereby their medical decisions were carried out by doctors and their assistants. They called their program euthanasia. The word was mere camouflage; it was the murder of innocent people.
