We often mistakenly assume that our freedoms come from our government. They do not. As the Declaration of Independence so clearly states, “We are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights…” Our Founding Fathers formed this republic with the understanding that we have rights that come straight from God.
Without a spiritual rebirth, even with all the good we do, our works are like filthy rags. Sin will have sway over us. Mankind’s thought processes have been perverted. Sin has altered our misguided priorities. Most importantly, it has taken our focus off “The Great I Am” and put it squarely on ourselves.
The men who founded our representative republic had personally experienced and observed the evils attendant to tyranny. They wanted truth and reason to prevail over arbitrary authority, prejudice & passion. Rigorous debate is part of the process, so that competing ideas and arguments can be tested against each other.
Let us not be too prideful when we see some gains. We’ve just begun the justifiable battle to take our country back. Now is the time to approach the Lord with humility. When Americans are not willing to fall upon their knees, we will see tyranny continue to raise its ugly head. Privately and as a nation, we must seek Him.
Patriots will not allow aggressive and arrogant “progressives” to continue having their way while ruining our country. Christians will put their faith into action. For without a “Spiritual Renewal,” America will continue to fail in every aspect possible.
Government’s use fear to control the masses. We have seen this with the healthcare debate. Obama doesn’t offer solutions. He offers fear. Fear about what will happen to the country if this bill doesn’t pass. Fear that you won’t get healthcare, even though no emergency room closes its doors to anyone.
If you persist in well-doing, relying on God to bless and sustain you against all odds and the hardships you can expect to encounter, you will emerge victorious over the forces of evil that confront our country, and you will be a beacon of reason and righteousness, and thus a tangible inspiration, to those around you.
Freedom first then personal disagreements, remember why this country was originally founded and remember what our first fore-Fathers fought for in the Revolutionary War. They fought or freedom and that includes what is written clearly in the Constitution of this great nation.
While fully acknowledging the imperfections and shortcomings of Christian institutions and communities in all ages, we claim the heritage of those Christians who defended innocent life by rescuing discarded babies from trash heaps in Roman cities and publicly denouncing the Empire’s sanctioning of infanticide.
The White House has announced plans to expand its Office of Faith-Based Initiatives. In an address to the National Prayer Breakfast, President Barack Obama said the office would reach out to nonprofit organizations and “help them determine how to make a bigger impact…and learn their obligations under the law.”
The average person might naturally conclude that naturalism by its nature would confine itself to the issues of blunt observable scientific fact. However, naturalism has left the tedium of the laboratory and now seeks to influence fields as divergent from science as education, ethics, and government.
Imagine a world where teens were not being ravaged by sexually transmitted diseases nor carrying babies and aborting babies while they are still developing into adulthood. What sort of culture would it be if men and women respected each other as human beings gifted by God with blessings that are to be appreciated rather than savaged by date rape, promiscuity and all manner of sexual perversion?
The United States is being undermined and frighteningly transformed before our eyes. We’re not going to like what’s in store for us if we fail to stop the madness. As of now, only a few brave legislators are speaking up. House Minority Leader John Boehner has accused the president of subverting and circumventing the Constitution by appointing so-called czars who are not subject to Senate confirmation or scrutiny.
The Second Coming of our Savior is imminent. The signs are all around us. America’s life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are quickly eroding. It makes people tremble in righteous indignation. Our country is being transformed by those who wish her ill.
Frankly, other than the campaign to remove God and Christ as the basis of our cultural foundation and to forbid the utterance of these holy names so that souls might be damned, what other issue is more relevant to the 21st century pulpit than the efforts to undermine innocent human life and now the very creation as we know it? Furthermore, this simmering contempt for the distinct uniqueness of human life stretches all the way to the highest levels of government, industry, and academia.
God, through the prophet Jeremiah, used those sublime words for the ages to teach the Jewish people the real meaning behind the Ten Commandments. Yes, the Jews understood that these were the rules God wanted to be obeyed as part of their sacred covenant with his chosen people, but on a more profound level God eventually wanted to transcend the Ten Commandments chiseled in stone for tablets of the Ten Commandments written in the hearts of the people.
Often the classics rank among the best. Even though time passes and intellectual fashions change, certain insights and perspectives address something so profound they forever earn a place as a steadfast pillar among sifting seas of opinion. Much of what comes after such a point simply serves as either confirmation, renunciation, clarification, or criticism.
It is amazing that atheism has become such a force in our world. It is truly sad when many intelligent men and women who are philosophers, educators, and scholars trust only in their human wisdom. They’ve taken the leap of faith into the void of an empty universe. In Psalms, God’s Word says: “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Psalms 14:1).
For nearly a century, our public school textbooks have been more than suggesting that humans are related to specific members of the animal kingdom. In fact, Darwinism insists on such teaching.
The untruthfulness of the man-made theory of evolution is astounding. It’s bewildering that well-educated people should believe so ardently in this unproven science. This godless teaching is foisted upon our society as though it were empirically-demonstrated fact. Because of Charles Robert Darwin’s belief, secularization and atheism have gained wide acceptance throughout the world.
From at least 1994 when I remember writing my first column on the subject, despisers of the Almighty and liberals of the most spineless of stripes have conspired to undermine Christmas as a national celebration in the attempt to downplay and ultimately eliminate public recognition of God in general and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ in specific. These efforts have been so widespread that I was able to compile columns written about them over the years into a book titled “Yuletide Terror & Other Holiday Horrors”.
