Paraphrasing the telling words of Justice Jackson who made that comment in a 1949 dissenting opinion, Terminiello v. Chicago, I would say of today’s times, particularly in light of the current insurrection in Egypt – The Constitution is not a suicide pact, but the Progressive-Muslim Axis is.

The world stands at the brink – the Progressive/Muslim Axis vs. Natural Law/Christianity. Indeed, developments in Egypt, Tunisia and Jordan may indeed be that fateful domino that causes civilizations to collide into global catastrophe. Muslims want to invite apocalypse to set the stage for the so-called Twelfth Imam. Since the 1880s, progressives have provoked societal chaos through a litany of diabolical ideas and welfare policies designed to plunge America and the West into utopian socialism as a pretext to destroy Christianity, Natural Law and the Constitution while forcing society into a globalist Marxist state.

Heads the Progressive-Muslim Axis wins – tails Western civilization, Christianity and Israel lose.

Predictably, the litany of what Lenin called useful idiots comes to center stage to spout their evil propaganda. When asked by “NewsHour” host Jim Lehrer if Egypt’s embattled president is a dictator, Vice President Joe Biden answered, “Mubarak has been an ally of ours in a number of things. And he’s been very responsible on, relative to geopolitical interest in the region, the Middle East peace efforts; the actions Egypt has taken relative to normalizing relationship with – with Israel. … I would not refer to him as a dictator.”

The next useful idiot is Mohamed ElBaradei, the former head of the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA). He told the world for a dozen years (1997-2009) that Iran has no intent of obtaining nuclear capability, and if they did it would be only for their domestic energy needs. He turned a blind eye to Pakistan’s nuclear hegemony, so now that nation possess 100 nuclear warheads. Virtually all this developed during his tenure at IAEA.

ElBaradei’s reward for making the world an infinitely more dangerous place? Like Arafat, Carter and Obama, he won the Nobel Peace Prize.

ElBaradei now brags to the world that his recent axis with the Muslim Brotherhood is benign. This Nazi-like organization founded in 1928 is the grandfather of the modern Muslim terrorist movement, yet ElBaradei claims that this political alliance will only bring peace to Egypt and Israel. In the meantime, Israel is furious with the Obama administration for turning against President Mubarak whom they considered a good ally and the provider of Israel’s natural gas, which is now shut off to the saboteurs.

Obama’s remarks regarding the chaos in Egypt have been unprepared, tepid and cowardly, which will only further destabilize the Middle East.

This brings me to the crux of my argument: Is Islam compatible with a republic? No! Yet other than tiny Israel, where in the Middle East or in any Muslim country exists a government structure approximating a democratic republic that guarantees natural rights contained in the Bill of Rights? Such a country can never exist under Islam because Islam is incompatible with Natural Law and a pluralistic, diverse civilization.

The motto of the Muslim Brotherhood is a battle cry for perpetual war against Christianity, Israel and Western civilization – Allah is our objective, the prophet is our leader, the Quran is our law, Jihad is our way, and dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.

The Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty of 1979 began America’s financial aid of Egypt, which amounts to scores of billions of dollars to date. Most of that money goes to Egypt’s military. Egypt, along with several other Muslim nations fought (and lost), four major wars against Israel in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973. Why for the past three decades have we given money to build Egypt’s military and keep a dictator in power? Because they signed that treasonous false peace treaty in 1979 with that nitwit Jimmy Carter while Egypt secretly ships hundreds of tons of weaponry though their shared tunnels into Gaza, which Hamas uses to kill Israelis.

Is America’s Middle East policy legitimate foreign policy or duplicitous extortion, bribery purchased with blood money?

“Better to trust the devil you know than the devil you don’t know” has been America’s cowardly rejoinder for decades of supporting murderous tyrants. I reply: America shouldn’t be trusting or trading with any devils. America’s foreign policy in the Middle East since Jimmy Carter has been one of expediency over justice, pragmatism over principle and cowardice over courage, while these murderous Muslim dictators like Mubarak, Arafat, King Hussein and Abdullah, Pakistan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Saudi sheiks have played America like a pimp uses a prostitute.

America must break the servile bondage of the Progressive-Muslim Axis over American foreign policy. The trillions spent in foreign aid and war over there we’ve essentially flushed down the toilet. What has 35 years of Middle Eastern “diplomacy” gotten us but 9/11, two Iraq wars, Afghanistan and the devolution of American exceptionalism?

I am not promoting neo-isolationist policies America had prior to the World Wars, but how about breaking the slave chains of China, Iran and the Saudis and returning to a robust Reagan foreign policy where we manufacture what we need here in this country without needless regulation and union thuggery? How about America mining for our own rich natural resources in coal, oil, natural gas, shale and other profitable minerals needed for computers, manufacturing and weaponry? America is literally the Saudi Arabia of coal, oil shale and natural gas, but for too long we’ve allowed gutless politicians to be controlled by the environmental fanatics, union thugs and the regulatory Gestapo.

Stop the Progressive-Muslim Axis. America needs a pragmatic and narrowly defined foreign policy that makes alliances with Christian or Christian-friendly nations and avoids what President George Washington warned against, entangling alliances with those nations whose ideology and culture seek our destruction.

Any nation that we have to bribe with foreign aid (i.e., voluntary extortion) isn’t a faithful or true ally and will only push America into bankruptcy and into treasonous geopolitical entanglements.

The Obama Administration needs to recognize three simple truths on the Middle East.

Politicians are notorious for their inability to take a joke or tell one, and the Obama Administration appears to be a particularly humor-free zone. That’s why I think all cabinet secretaries should be issued one staffer who has not attended an Ivy League school, but who did tell an original joke sometime after the age of 21.

Then the public would be spared the sight of Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano teaching the citizens of the United States how to sneeze on their arm.

One look during rehearsals at Napolitano doing her Bela Lugosi impersonation and the Humor Czar would have quietly told her that particular tidbit of information should come from a nurse, teacher or third grader.

Personally, I thought Janet looked hilarious until it occurred to me the problem with this Administration is that you’re never certain they won’t escalate into more personal areas of hygiene instruction.

So it’s no wonder that a White House that has time to teach America to sneeze also has time to supervise zoning and building permits in Israel. Over the weekend, the Administration strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s decision to continue construction of 2,500 apartments in East Jerusalem, which just happens to be the capitol of Israel. Construction must be stopped – frozen.

Sneeze lessons for Americans. Freeze demands for Israelis.

To put this in perspective, the Obama administration has no problem with Iran building nuclear power plants, because criticizing Iran would be “interference.” But the thought of an ally adding to its housing stock is an outrage.

This is just another in a series of damaging, counter-productive foreign policy decisions made by The One. Missile defense in Eastern Europe, preservation of democracy in Honduras, “peace” in the Middle East, and nukes in Iran all have one element in common: Obama does the reverse of what the Bush Administration did.

Now there’s a comforting thought for America’s friends and allies: the foreign policy of the world’s one remaining superpower is governed by Newton’s Third Law of Motion: for every new administration there is an equal and opposite policy reaction.

You expect this sort of upheaval in Botswana or Detroit, but I don’t think the diplomatic world will be comfortable with a United States that turns on a dime.

Which brings us back to Barack’s “smart growth” policies in Israel. US attempts to bring peace to the Middle East are a 30-year steaming pile of failure, simply because it takes two to tango. You can’t sign a durable peace when only one-half of the warring factions is ready to stop fighting.

Obama, of course, has the power to make all things new. So he reverses clear US policy with regard to building in Jerusalem and the West Bank, and treats Israel like it is the intransigent party.

But Obama’s peace plan is going nowhere, because his mental framework for viewing negotiations is wrong. It’s difficult to explain a genuine life-and-death conflict like the Middle East to White House staffers whose most violent encounter was wrestling with their sister for control of the remote.

So instead, let’s compare it to something they are familiar with: a really bad divorce. Here Israel is the husband. He’s resigned to the fact this relationship is not salvageable and he’s going to endure a lopsided settlement. All he wants is to live in peace and to divvy up the property – which is why he’s sitting at a table with Dr. Obama, listening to him drone on about feelings and communication.

The Palestinian Arabs are the wife, and she wants all the property and the right to make him return anything he’s owned since they first met. Plus, she genuinely wants hubby dead and spends the child support money in sleazy biker bars trying to hire someone to kill the old man.

At home she tells the children the husband is an evil abuser who wants to sell their organs and she burns up the phone lines calling UN 9–1–1, claiming that hubby is slapping her around and trying to molest the kids.

At the counseling sessions, she won’t agree to any compromise. Instead, she complains about alimony and says he’s a liar who won’t let her travel.

So maybe a good place to start negotiations would be to suggest that the wife stop hiring assassins and quit indoctrinating the kids.

But no, wise Dr. Obama doesn’t like pressuring the wife, because she’s only an eye roll away from hysteria. So instead, he wants the husband to supply an MRI that proves all his organs are original equipment.

It’s testimony to Jewish tolerance that they endure this quack.

Progress will be made when we and the Administration recognize three truths regarding the Middle East:

1. Only an idiot signs a treaty with an opponent that’s still fighting.

2. Only the deluded sign a treaty with a “government” incapable of enforcing its end of the agreement.

3. Judge Judy can produce a better Middle East agreement than this White House.

Peace through strength.

If President Reagan’s foreign policy with communist nations, Muslim dictatorships and other various evil empires like North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Libya, China and the old Soviet Union was characterized by the philosophy “Peace through strength,” then surely it can be argued that Obama’s foreign policy philosophy is “Peace through begging.”

Let’s start with the recent trips Obama’s secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, made to key countries in an effort to differentiate his policy from Bush’s foreign policy, but also to show these intractable nations, “I’m not George Bush.” What were the results?

Secretary’s Clinton’s recent trip to China was not as a representative of the leader of the free world or of the most powerful nation in the history of the world, but was, with hat-in-hand, essentially our chief diplomat begging Chinese General Secretary Hu Jintao to please buy more of America’s debt before we descend into a Great Depression. China balked and did not seem to accede to nor respect Hillary’s urgent request for economic aid.

The irony of this trip is irresistible. Recall that it was Secretary Clinton’s husband, President Bill Clinton, who essentially allowed to be stolen, sold or outright gave to China billions of dollars in sensitive nuclear technology that enabled this communist nation to take a “new” “Great Leap Forward” (1958-63) as it tried to become America’s No. 1 nuclear power rival in the world, surpassing even Russia.

Let’s look at the Middle East and the Muslim terrorist group Hamas, which rules over the Gaza Strip as a fanatical regime. Obama and Hillary want to give “the Palestinians” $900 million to rebuild Gaza. This is beyond the pale. Even the most faithful Kool-Aid drinkers of the left took pause at this astonishing announcement, for they rightly understood that Israel had just fought another bloody war with Hamas, which is still firing rockets at Israel right now.

In a BBC article on Hamas’ attacks against Israel, one writer said, “Since 2001, when the rockets were first fired, more than 8,600 have hit southern Israel, nearly 6,000 of them since Israel withdrew from Gaza in August 2005. The rockets have killed 28 people [Israelis] and injured hundreds more.”

Of course most reasonable people understand that virtually every dollar of the $900 million in foreign assistance Obama wants to give the Palestinians will go directly to the coffers of Hamas, which will then buy new and better rockets and WMDs from Egypt, Syria and Iran to terrorize our “friend and ally” Israel. The election of conservative Benjamin Netanyahu as Israel’s new prime minister hopefully will be an obstruction in Obama’s Hitler-like plans to reward Hamas for killing Jews.

Finally, let’s examine Obama’s policy to deal with perhaps America’s most intractable enemy – Iran. U.S. officials told us earlier this week that Obama sent a secret letter to Russia’s President Medvedev last month suggesting that he would back off deploying a new missile defense system in Eastern Europe if Moscow would help stop Iran from developing long-range weapons.

New York Times columnist Peter Baker wrote the following incredible statement regarding Obama’s foreign policy strategy:

The plan to build a high-tech radar facility in the Czech Republic and deploy 10 interceptor missiles in Poland – a part of the world that Russia once considered its sphere of influence – was a top priority for President George W. Bush to deter Iran in case it developed a nuclear warhead to fit atop its long-range missiles. Mr. Bush never accepted a Moscow proposal to install part of the missile defense system on its territory and jointly operate it so it could not be used against Russia.Now the Obama administration appears to be reconsidering that idea, although it is not clear if it would want to put part of the system on Russian soil where it could be flipped on or off by Russians. Mr. Obama has been lukewarm on missile defense, saying he supports it only if it can be proved technically effective and affordable.

Obama’s peace through begging foreign policy has transmuted into peace through treachery. Not only is our president willing to be a traitor to the Czech Republic and Poland, two historical and faithful allies of America, by leaving them defenseless should Russia becomes aggressive against them again, but, to add insult to insanity, Obama is even contemplating building a missile system on Russian territory that would be jointly run with the United States, “where it [the missile defense system] could be flipped on of off by Russians.”

For a sitting president of the United States to even consider such treachery as allowing Russia veto power over the defense of our historical allies like the Czech Republic and Poland should motivate Congress to write articles of impeachment to remove Obama from the presidency immediately. This naïve and dangerous policy is truly beyond the pale. Yet Congress does not act. These 535 dolts are too busy exploring deep, profound issues like “Oh, my God, it’s Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie! May I have your autograph?” “Is Rush Limbaugh the real leader of the Republican Party?” or “The rich have a moral duty to pay more taxes” (Tim Geithner).

“Madam, we have given you a republic, if you can keep it,” was Benjamin Franklin’s prescient reply to an anonymous lady who asked him after the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Sept. 17, 1787, “Dr. Franklin, what have you given us today?” Well, America, with the ascent of the neo-Marxist Barack Obama and all of his socialist minions like Hillary Clinton, Rahm Emanuel, Joe Biden, Larry Summers, Tim Geithner, Holder, Salazar, Napolitano and a trillion dollars in new taxes and spending in six weeks, have we “kept” this sacred republic bequeathed to us by the Constitution’s framers? … No!

Vladimir Putin views Obama as Lenin viewed the legions of fools who believed in communism, referring to them as “useful idiots.” Putin couldn’t have picked a better president of America himself. Obama’s first forays into foreign policy has him clearly outclassed and in way over his head. Strongman Putin wants no less than a hegemonic revival of Lenin and Stalin’s communist empire on a global scale.

Reagan constantly exclaimed, “Peace through strength,” as the only logical, moral and pragmatic means to deal with an evil, intractable enemy like North Korea, China, Iran or Russia. Obama has seemingly taken an opposite approach based not on strength but weakness; not only with Russia, but with an even more dangerous enemy of America, Iran, whom we now know for years Russia has been surreptitiously supplying with scientists, technology and materials to build their very own nuclear weapons – WMDs Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has repeatedly promised he will use to “wipe Israel off the map.”

And now we reach the apotheosis “the enemy (Russia) of my enemy (Iran) is my friend” as America under President Obama practices foreign policy like slaves on our knees. Peace through strength? Or peace through begging? You decide which foreign policy will best serve America and her vital national interests.
