Conservatives Get Stupid, Again
What a let down. Here conservative Republicans were so close to respectability and even acceptance in polite society. In Prince William County, VA where I live, conservatives convinced themselves we’d come far from that time in the recent past when the WaPost described evangelicals (essentially another word for conservative Republicans, since there is considerable overlap among the two demographic groups) as “poor, undereducated and easily led.”
What About Gingrich?
The upper echelons of the Republican Party are in a state of high angst. Their phone lines and e-mails are flashing back and forth with amazing speed and in astounding volumes. Many are showing signs of what we southern folks used to call “the vapors” as they place the back of their open hand to their foreheads and slouch softly to the floor in a state of quiet apoplexy.
Is Cain Able?
The big story in the GOP race for the presidential nomination for the last couple months has been Herman Cain. From his meteoric rise to the top as Conservatives were quickly disenchanted with Rick Perry, to the wall-to-wall coverage of sexual harassment allegations; Herman Cain has been propelled into the public consciousness. So let’s take a look.
Three Quarters Of GOP Voters Do Not Support Romney
Weak Presidents are dangerous – not just to America but to the world. We have seen it with Carter and with Obama. Its as if the “Global Police,” America, goes on an extended vacation for four years. All the bogeymen come out to play. The rogue nations have a field day. Nations are invaded, people are slaughtered in their thousands, while America’s allies sweat through the nightmare until the American people become fed up and place a new sheriff in office.
Gov. Perry, Welcome to Your Past
Recently I was watching a rerun of ‘Booknotes’ with Gertrude Himmelfarb — now a respected historian and neo–conservative, but in her youth a Trotskyite, which — for those of you suffering from recent history instruction in public schools — is a variety of Communist. When asked how she made the ideological journey from Trotsky to Reagan, it warmed my heart when explained that she was always a pretty conservative Trotskyite.]
The Return of the Unicorn
By Michael R. Shannon
It’s conceivable Douglass only marks his wine up a buck or two a barrel, regardless of cost. This would account for his ignorance of percentages. Oil company profits are simply a percentage of the price of a barrel of crude. If the underlying price of oil increases, the amount of profit per barrel increases, too, although the underlying percentage remains the same. This is how supply and demand works.
Trump is Entertaining, But He’s Just An Opening Act
By Doug Edelman
He is riding a rising tide of popularity, and he’s milking it for all its worth. America is so very disenchanted with Obama that anyone who can land a body-blow on him is a hero. Trump has been relentless in his sometimes comical, sometimes clownish criticism and skepticism of the President. This makes him something of a folk-hero, whose stock has just posted great gains after Obama blinked on the Birth Certificate staredown. Now he is calling for school records. An amusing diversion, to be sure …
America DOES Need A New President. Only … Its NOT ROMNEY!
Mitt Romney was in New Hampshire over the weekend shining his image as he endeavors to capture the republican nomination as the candidate for President of the United States. Problem is – conservatives, whose numbers basically control the nominating process; don’t want any part of Romney.
Time for an Intervention
I’m concerned about Virginia’s Gov. Bob McDonnell. He seems to be embarking on a white–whale situation involving his obsession with privatizing the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). This unnatural focus is a damaging, negative influence on his administration.
How an Average Blogger Upset a Sitting Congressman (Part 1)
…The First Amendment is Under Attack (By Republicans)
Senator McCaskill was in town in hopes of selling one of the most Republican districts in the USA on Obamacare. I arrived early in hopes of getting a seat in the front row with a question challenging McCaskill on her use of the General Welfare clause. A few hours later, I would meet the man that would provide me insight to why American politics is in the mess we are in today.
New Congress To Do List
A total of 48 percent of those voters viewed their choice as a positive vote for Republicans, but 45 percent said their vote was not a vote for the GOP, but rather a negative vote against Obama and the Democrats. It should be glaringly obvious to House leaders that a party unable generate a majority of supporters among its own voters, is a party that is on probation.
GOP Senate hopefuls offer new ideas for 2011
By Deroy Murdock
Whether or not the GOP wins the U.S. Senate, several Republican contenders for the World’s Greatest Deliberative Body hope to promote some rather unique proposals. Republicans are running on such ideas as repealing ObamaCare, curbing federal spending, and making permanent the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. Those are all fine concepts, but several candidates have gone beyond the old perennials to promote good, less-familiar ideas.
The War Heats Up
By Larry Miller
The war for the soul of the Republican Party is heating up. Or, more appropriately, the war to give the Republican Party a soul has skipped a few steps to a new level recently. The actions of a formerly Republican senator and governor made it obvious that the retention of position and power was higher on their agenda than following and actually representing the people.
Rise up! We’re restoring honor
“Throughout history, America has seen many great leaders and noteworthy citizens change her course. It is through their personal virtues and by their example that we are able to live as a free people. On August 28, come celebrate America by honoring our heroes, our heritage, and our future.
Roy Blunt for United States Senate
Blunt understands the amount of money leaving the district from our paychecks and in our gas tanks heading to Washington, and he understands that if we don’t work to get that money, other districts will. Southwest Missouri has thrived under Blunt’s leadership in the House of Representatives.
Beware Analysts Worried About the GOP
When GOP voters don’t follow the sound advice of their betters and choose a “moderate,” it causes consternation in mainstream media newsrooms and usually results in helpful suggestions as to how Republicans can be more successful winning votes among members of the media and qualify for invitations to the really cool cocktail parties.
Freedom Action Conference
Freedom Action Conference – August 12-14, Valley Forge, PA
The American Policy Center, a grassroots, activist organization led by Tom DeWeese, along with 22 co-sponsoring organizations, will convene a three-day conference where American liberty began its struggle, where patriots suffered and regrouped to establish the world’s beacon of liberty at Valley Force, Pennsylvania. You will be able to join other concerned Americans.
A Contract With The People
This election cycle is unique in the history of both this state and our nation. We are presented with a situation in which WE THE PEOPLE, must re-educate ourselves and our neighbors, and put the knowledge of liberty to work in the elections this November. Years of neglect have allowed factions detrimental to the core principles of this nation, to entrench themselves in both political parties, and undermine the education of Constitutional principles vital to the survival of the republic.
On Arizona and Immigration
LEGAL immigrants of all nationalities are welcomed and appreciated. The issue of illegal immigration should not be clouded by specious claims of racism or xenophobia. These straw-man arguments serve only to distract from the true issue: There are people who violate our borders without authorization and have no right to be in the United States.
What’s Next for the Tea Party? “EVANGELISM!”
Millions of conservatives and patriots have stopped privately growling at their TV news, and have started publicly expressing their views. The “silent majority” is silent no more, and the grassroots have become a force to recon with.
America is sending this regime packing
The Obama regime is headed up by the most radical president America has ever had the misfortune to endure. It’s pretty much a given that Obama will be forced to depart after the “grassroots” converge on the ballot box this fall and two years hence. His elitist’s arrogance and lack of respect for the will of the American people cannot be tolerated any longer.
