In 1991, the Soviet Union, arguably the greatest experiment in Communism, collapsed. After Mao Zedong died in 1976, his successors moved to shift its Communist economy to one that embraced Capitalism while retaining centralized government control.

Following World War Two, the recovering nations of Europe were rescued from Communism by the Marshall Plan, but adopted Communism-Light in the form of Socialism. The U.S. was already headed in that direction, creating programs that we now call “entitlements.” For most of the nation’s history, such “entitlements” did not exist.

What binds together the financial problems of the West is the common thread of infantile behavior and thought. One might call it wishful thinking. Instead of encouraging people to provide for old age and possible illness, politicians decided to turn government into Big Daddy, the eternal source of money for everything.

Need to go to college, start a business, or plan for retirement? Government would be there to help. All this ignored the need to actually pay for these programs. In the case of Social Security Congress began to dip into its funding to pay for other programs! This is what children do.

One can look around the world and see what a failure both Communism and Socialism have been. Governments spending more than their tax and other revenues have suffered grievously from this path to default and that includes the United States of America. It can be argued that, with few exceptions–the Reagan years come to mind—Presidents have been poorly served by their economic advisors.

Politicians make poor economists because, in America, members of the House must think of getting reelected every two years and Senators every six. Moreover, being politicians, they believe that the more federal largess they can bring back to their State and then brag about is the one true path to reelection.

At the very beginning of the nation, Thomas Jefferson said it best. “I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”

How many commissions and special committees have earnestly produced reports intended to deal with a government grown too large? At the federal level, some two million or more Americans are employed promulgating a deluge of regulations and pushing paper.

Now President Obama says he wants to streamline the federal government.
The real issue is not “streamlining” government agencies by gathering them together under one roof and one administrator, but the failure to end government departments and agencies that no longer serve a useful purpose and whose removal would also remove countless obstacles to economic growth.

In April 2011, Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute warned that “the federal government is on track to spend more than $3.5 trillion this year. What most people don’t know is that government actually costs about 50% more than what it spends. That’s because complying with federal regulations costs an additional $1.75 trillion—nearly an eighth of GDP. And almost none of that cost appears on the budget.”
The United States of America, the greatest engine of wealth the world has ever seen, is bankrupt. The national debt exceeds the Gross Domestic Product, the sum total of all revenue generated by goods and services.

The President has asked that the debt ceiling be raised another trillion or so and Congress will comply. That, I submit, is insane.

I also submit that, since Barack Obama was sworn into office on January 20, 2009, the nation has been witness to the economic insanity personified in the man and in the Democrat-controlled Congress that was his partner until 2010 when the control of the House of Representatives was wrested away by the Tea Party movement and its support for Republican candidates.

The only constant in life is change. America’s demography has changed. We have, thanks to medical care and other advantages, a much older segment of the population than ever before, but the nation from the 1930s to the 1960s had committed itself to ensure they would have Medicare and Medicaid at a time when people more often than not died in their 50’s and 60’s. We now have an average life expectancy of 78 years. My parents lived into their 90s.

Politics, not economics, continues to make it impossible to revise and restructure both Medicare and Social Security to reflect this reality. Instead, we had Obamacare foisted upon us which took trillions from Medicare and imposes rules that will let elderly heart attack or stroke victims die rather than pay for a level of care to which they contributed during their working years.

If the Supreme Court declares Obamacare unconstitutional it will go away. If we elect a Republican Senate, the repeal already passed in the House will be passed and it will go away.

But America’s economic problems will not go away until Americans insist that the shackles of Big Government be cut loose to enable the growth of an energy industry that can not only make the nation energy independent, but produce billions in revenue as far as the eye can see into the future.

The tax system with its thousands of pages must be revised to a simpler, fairer program. It makes no sense that forty percent of Americans pay no taxes at all.
It’s not that we don’t know what must be done. Conservative think tanks like The Heritage Foundation, the Cato Institute, The Heartland Institute, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and others have spelled out programs that can and will save America, but the nation must be led by a president who understands that Capitalism involves budgeting, planning, hard work, and—yes—risk.

The federal government is running on “continuing resolutions.” It has not had a formal budget since Obama arrived. This is no way to run the greatest nation on the face of the Earth. America is on a suicide watch and we are just an election away from saving it.

Back in August of 2008 I wrote the following:

“When is America going to wake up? WILL she wake up? Will she wake up in time? Or, will time run out? We have been sliding down that slippery slope at an every increasing velocity since the 1960’s. We’re not losing our freedom. We’re not losing our country. No. We’re giving it all away.

We have compromised and compromised until we have little left TO compromise. Yet, we have two presidential candidates, right now, who are BOTH believers in compromise. They make a big deal of their willingness to compromise. What is needed is the testosterone to stand up on our two feet, like men, and shake our fist in the face of our enemies and say, NO MORE! This is it! We are done giving you what you want just to be left alone in our comfortable little cocoons.

The wolves have been gathering in an ever-tightening circle. They are closing in one step at a time. And we Americans don’t see it. Instead we continue to feed them while telling ourselves if we give them what they want they will be our friends. We have chosen to forget one of the laws of Nature. Wolves are what wolves are. They do what wolves do. Even a wolf, thought to be domesticated, is liable to turn and leap for the throat of the person who supposes he is the wolf’s master. Yes, wolves do as wolves have always done… because they ARE wolves.

America’s enemies are gathered against us. They are tightening the circle. Even now they are among us. Sadly, a look in the mirror will reveal the identity of America’s worst enemies.” (SOURCE)

At the time I wrote that dire prospective, America was nearing a Presidential Election …  an election that would fundamentally change our country for the worst.  It was an election, as it turned out, that has nearly destroyed, especially,  America’s Middle Class.

As we had warned, many times, neither of the men on the ballot would be good for America.  One would continue the (then) agenda of the current administration and the other would, most certainly, take the country into socialism and set America up to become a communist dictatorship.

Many thought I could not be more wrong – and said so. Today, however, many of those people who derided my dark prognostications then, will not communicate with me today for their embarrassment.  They need not be embarrassed.  Being wrong is a part of the human condition.  But one of the traits that sets us above the other animals inhabiting the earth is our ability to learn from our mistakes — and not repeat them.

Now we have the chance to put what we have learned in the past years of Obama’s Administration into practice.  We have a chance to right the wrong and to begin an American recovery.  I say “begin” because I am still not convinced Mr. Romney has the heft to do what is going to be necessary to reverse Americans deep plunge into Obama’s sewer of socialism and communism.  But he WOULD be a start.  And let’s not kid ourselves:  The scars of the Obama regime are deep and ugly and they will last forever.

Look.  Let’s be clear about this:  The mess we are in, as a nation, is going to take generations to neutralize.  I use the word “neutralize,” because first — we must stop the slide into that sewer I mentioned above.  Then, and only then, can we begin to reverse ourselves and begin to claw our way upwards into the sunshine again.

I asked the question in the title:  Is it already too late for America?  I titled this piece that way because I think each of us, as Americans, must look in the mirror and ask the same question of ourselves.  For it is WE who will decide the answer.

I cannot tell you have often I have had friends, in recent years, remark to me:  “I don’t recognize this country, anymore.  This is not the America I knew.”  That is true.  But the thing I find most interesting about their depressed musing — is the lack of bitterness and anger.  There was remorse in their words and tone, but none of that famed American determination aimed at correcting whatever had thrown America off course.  It is as if they have simply thrown in the towel, given up, and admitted defeat to themselves — if not quite to others yet.  I am terribly afraid that the fire, for many, has gone out.

Understand:  The primary tool of the political left, all over the world, against those who do not hew to the leftist line, is to denigrate, degrade, rebuff, mock,  and hold up to public ridicule all those who do not think the way they do.  And when rhetoric fails, as we learned from the 1930’s, they quickly resort to physical abuse by leftist thugs.  We saw some of that in the 2010 political cycle right here in America.  Look for physical abuse to be more wide spread this year as we draw nearer to the Presidential Election.

To answer my own question — whether or not it is already too late for America – we will all know the answer to that in November.  If Obama wins – yes, it IS all over for America.  If his opponent wins, well, we have a chance, a small one at best — but a chance, nevertheless, to save our country.

“Politics” is rotten … period.

The form of government the American people chose at their founding was unique.  It still is.  Many have sprung up around the globe in imitation of the American constitutional “representative” republic.  None have yet hit the mark — though they have come close.

Ours is an imperfect form of government. It is a government “of,” “by,” and “for” the people. The key word, of course, is “people.” And therein lies the problem.

The American government was flawed from its beginning.  It is a result of the human touch.  It could not and cannot be helped.  But it has worked miraculously well, for over two centuries.

From time to time, America has touched on destruction, even self-destruction. But, so far, we have managed to pull back, at the last moment, and survive to become a colossus astride the world.

There have been costs. There will be more.

Some say America is hard on the world.  Maybe.  But America is hardest on itself.  The internal war between Americans to determine what we will become still rages. For, you see, America is never static. America is always “becoming.”

The continuous swirling vortex that is America wounds and wounds deeply.  Our leaders come and go.  They ascend to the pinnacle of power with grandiose ideas only to be swept to the kneeling benches below by the American people, fickle, as they are, who choose not to accept those ideas or that leader’s choice for the direction of travel he intends to take America. We have seen it time and time again.

America’s current leader, Barack Obama, is experiencing the backhand of the people of America. His policies, his directions, his political philosophies have been rejected by “the people.”  He is in a desperate fight to salvage something for posterity.

Obama’s mistake was to drag America, kicking and screaming, in a direction it did not want to go. As a result he will earn an asterisk by his name in the history books as America’s first black President — and very little else.

America finds itself at another crossroads.  We have one chance to take the right direction.  The cost of choosing wrongly is the destruction of our great nation.

The process of choosing a leader for the future of America is well underway.  It is a spectacle seen nowhere on earth save for America.  We push forward a number of men and women we think we would like to see lead America  — then we begin the process of striping the flesh off their bones.  There is no mercy.

Candidates who survive the process are not necessarily good leaders just very good at perseverance and dodging those proverbial slings and arrows.

America is rich in citizens who would be leaders about whom future generations would sing songs.  But they will not step from the safety of the sidelines and join the fray.  But then, who can blame them. Of course, that means America tends to be led by the second best, or the least best, or the lesser of two evils, all soaked in mediocrity.   It is a rare occurrence, indeed, when America actually gets a better President than it voted for.

The fact is – there is no outstanding leader among the candidates for President from either side of America’s political spectrum in this election cycle.  At the very moment America is in desperate need of a lion at the helm — we have only mice from which to choose.

America can do better than this. The nation deserves better than this. But THIS is where we are.

From today’s perspective, the American future is bleak with decay as far as the eye can see. Why? — Because we are no longer a single people. We have become far too diverse a population. Until we decide, again, who we are and coalesce around that certain, singular, American character, we will remain, for all intents and purposes, ungovernable.

Diversity and inclusion have murdered the singular American character and culture. We are adrift, unclaimed, and unclaimable. Electing another mouse to lead us will do nothing more than seal our destiny as just another consignment to the dustbin of history.

The Greatest American Female is Devvy Kidd and she believes a woman has NO place in the White House. It is Kidd, who is supremely qualified to be president and yet she doesn’t believe that it is a woman’s place to even seek that high office.

In order to deal with the mobsters of the planet; a shrewd businessman is required to hold America’s enemies hostage. The ONLY feasible candidate for a Democratic nomination which would benefit the conservative agenda, is Donald Trump.

Mr. Trump has been falsely accused of being “not conservative enough” and “too liberal,” but what could be more conservative than wanting to conserve one´s country?

The GOP is still colored by the opinions of Karl Rove and other neocon elites, who consider Mr. Trump a “joke,” but that can only help his campaign to rope Democrats back into the American Corral, to serve The Second American Revolution.

Real conservatives recognize Trump as the man who speaks their language and it is NOT “Si, Se Puede,” to let a hostile foreign power annex American territory, in the name of worldwide Marxist revolutionary paradigms.

This writer is sure that Arianna Huffington would strongly support a Donald Trump campaign, to bring Democrats back from the place MSNBC accused the Republicans of going…”the wilderness” of political irrelevance.

If the great patriot, Rep. Allen West were to be Trump´s running mate; Mr. Trump would be unstoppable.

All spurious charges of racism made by the Obama administration against the American people, would then clearly be seen as “sound and fury, signifying nothing.” This would “kill two birds with one stone.”

Donald Trump is not beholden to anyone–especially the so-called “establishment,” which is really America’s secret government–David Rockefeller’s Council on Foreign Relations.

Mr. Trump believes America should be the payee and NOT the payer. This is the hallmark of a real U.S. president and the philosophy which makes our country strong.

Trump is NOT interested in “compromise,” for he holds the vision of American exceptionalism as his pole star. Mr. Trump does not take orders; he gives them. The truly beautiful thing about the man is that he is anti-establishment, by his own admission. Further, when Trump talks, people listen.

We need this sort of man in Washington to restore our national prestige and strength. As for Sarah Palin; this writer does respect her, but she “kind of disqualified herself” when she blinked during the Katie Couric interview, like a deer caught in the glare of headlights.

Palin would be far better in the capacity of elder stateswoman and she could certainly polish her standing among conservatives, by paying her dues in study time, under a Patrick J. Buchanan tutelage.

The American people are ready for a “Vladimir Putin type” of strong man, who will restore the lost strength of our nation, by fitting it with a new set of steel dentures—in the form of tariffs for Red China—which not only deliver a horrific bite, but level the playing field in America´s favor.

America at this time in Her history, needs a man of destiny; a great man with bold ideas. One who is not afraid to seize the stolen wealth of the American people, back from Red Chinese overlords. One who is not afraid to speak plainly to those who vie with us for primacy, to their peril.

Anyone who witnessed Mr. Trump´s speech in Nashua, New Hampshire, must realize that he is a man of quality.

Sarah Palin cannot just cross party lines, after clearly defining her conservative weltanschauung in no uncertain terms. She cannot play agent provocateur, for she has already painted herself into the Tea Party corner.

Trump on the other hand, is AC/DC politically and cannot be nailed into a slot. He has wide appeal on both sides of the political aisle AND with the most important block of voters, the independents.

It is this writer’s hope that Mr. Trump wins the presidency, for he would surely gather many capable men around him for his administration, possibly including the great Patrick J. Buchanan and Ron Paul.

Donald Trump is America´s new not-so-secret weapon. He is the “Pricline Negotiator” for America’s reality show on the world stage.

The coming struggle with jihadistan will require a deliberate man at the helm of our ship of state.

Any sign of a woman in control of our country, would only confirm the erroneous belief of our jihadist enemies that America lacks the balls to play ball. These people are very much into symbolism.

If Iran felt intimidated enough by Ronald W. Reagan’s ascension to the American presidency; imagine America on steroids after a Trump presidential win.

Even now, dangers gather on the horizon, with Iran preparing to eclipse the West and usher in the coming of the “Mahdi,” on a nuclear mushroom cloud which strikes America.

This nation has already been sucker-punched twice by cheeky enemies; it cannot afford a third strike.

Americans of my generation are not as surprised, as a lot of Americans these days, at the state of our nation. We saw this coming as far back as fifty years ago. Look about you today. THIS is what the glorious “sixties” has wrought.

The Hippies, the Flower Children, the Pot Heads, the whole scraggly, long haired, dope smoking lot of them – now run every consarned thing!

We are just now beginning to pry them out of our government, but the damage they have done to America will take generations to repair.

Remember their communes, and collectives? They took those socialist ideas right into our state and national legislatures. Now we are paying the price.

But when they took their socialist ideas into the halls of education they fundamentally changed the nation by indoctrinating at least a generation of America’s children in the socialist ideals. They downplayed the importance of American history, of America’s democratic constitutional republican form of government. They declared the Constitution is not set in stone. It is a “living, breathing document” subject to change at the whim of every new generation.

Then they went on to teach our children how great government is as a provider and protector — sort of a “Big Brother, ya know?” They hammered home the idea that government should control everything. See, with the government in control, we’d never have to worry, because the government would provide for our every need.

My generation recognizes that for what it was and is: Socialism leading to communism.

They did, and continue to do, a heck of a lot of damage to America. One of their gifts just keeps on giving: Ignorance:

In 2010 I wrote an article titled: “America’s Golden Age of Ignorance.” (You may read the entire article HERE.) In that article I said: “One can only conclude that America finds herself in the current mess as a direct result of ignorance. “Ignorance of what,” you ask? I must answer, “Ignorance of practically everything.

Ignorance of America’s colorful political history, and that of the world, is much to blame for the Obama Regime’s continued acceptance by vast numbers of Americans. But, I am happy to report that number is growing ever smaller as each day passes.

Ignorance of history, as well as of current events, among the populace of any country, can lead to consequences that are truly awful. Take the election of America’s first socialist government, for instance. The election of 2006 turned our national legislature into a socialist machine bent on creating an even stronger central government with all the power it could grasp. Then, in 2008, the capstone of socialist victory in American politics was the election of Barack Hussein Obama. He promised fundamental change in America. The politically savvy in America understood he meant to lead America into out and out socialism. And he did.

Even today, the average democrat voter will deny the existence of a socialist government in America today. They simply do not recognize it. I am convinced that ignorance stems from the fact that they were not taught the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the genius of America’s founders, and the love of a free constitutional republic that led their ancestors to lay down their lives to protect and preserve the freedom granted by that constitution. That is ignorance.

Back in the day, before teacher’s unions, American students were taught the fundamental concepts of American democracy and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. We learned, as students, that life in America is a priviledge. We learned that freedom is not free, it is preserved by Americans who know its value, even if it means laying down their lives in its defense..

Students also leaned the immeasurable value of The Founding Documents, the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, and the all important Bill of Rights. They learned that The Founders said what they meant and meant what they said when writing the constiturtion. Students also learned that the US Constitution is a document for the ages. It is not a living breathing document subject to change at the whim of those citizens who live under its protection.

No longer. Today we graduate students wo cannot read their diplomas, who cannot find Canada and Mexico on a map, and have no idea what the Constitution or the Bill of Rights are! They have no clue that the Bill of Rights limits the role of government in the daily lives of Americans.

These are the Americans who placed the so-called democrats in charge of America’s government. I say “so-called” because those of us who have dabbled in politics, all our adult lives, understand that those in charge of the US government today are not democrats as they would have you believe. They are socialists, Marxists, communists, and progressives.

So – how WERE they elected? They were elected by people who genuinely thought they were voting for democrats, and by people who don’t care what kind of government we have so long as their place on the government dole is protected and their “hand outs” continue to arrive every month, and by those who were interested only in the power that would accrue to them if socialists controled the US government. The latter could not have accomplished this feat without the ignorance of the former, whose votes they knew they could count on.

Ignorance is a dangerous, dangerous, thing. WE here in America, are only just re-learning this lesson.” (Read the entire article HERE. )

That was my opinion then and it remains my opinion today.

This is a desperate time for America. We are suffering from self-inflicted wounds. We will be a long time healing. And there will be scars. There are always scars when the soul of a nation is attacked.

Altho the sun is going down on America, it has not set yet. To insure that it will rise and shine brightly on America again, we must reclaim our government, reclaim the dream that is America, and reclaim America’s status as the greatest nation in the world and the global leader of freedom loving peoples everywhere.

Those who follow my commentaries know that I rarely discuss race in America. I find it an unhappy topic at best and, from my readings in U.S. history, I feel safe in saying there was never a good time to be Black in America.

Slavery before, during and after the American Revolution was a stain on the nation and, though some were slave owners, the Founding Fathers knew it. To get the new Constitution ratified among the thirteen States, they had to trim their sails to the point where Article One, Section Two refers to “those bound to service” and, for the purpose of taxation of “free persons”, the slaves were counted as “three fifths of all other Persons.” Ugh.

It would, of course, take a Civil War to end slavery, though Lincoln’s preferred solution was to put the slaves on a ship back to Africa. That was not likely because by 1861 when the war began, there were 3,954,000 slaves, the majority of whom lived on plantations where, from Virginia to Texas, they often outnumbered whites by 13 to 1.

My awareness of Blacks was limited in my youth, growing up in an upscale New Jersey suburban community where they were quite scarce. You could count the number of Black students in my high school on one hand. When I was drafted in the Army most of my service in the early 1960s was on a base in the Deep South. It gave me a close up view of segregation. When I was discharged, I became a journalist on a weekly serving a small New Jersey city neighboring Newark. I was there when the city’s first Black mayor was elected.

It was the time of the Civil Rights movement, filled with marches and tumult. I met Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In 1967 Newark erupted in rioting, the result of poverty, and of sense of being powerless and disenfranchised. The Italians who had run the city gave way to Black politicians and, five decades later, they still are in charge, but the social problems remain.

If anyone would have told me that America would elect a Black President, I would have said that was impossible. I was wrong and so were the many Blacks who rejoiced in the election of Barack Obama, confident that he would take the lead, representing them, paying particular attention to their issues. Obama proved to be more concerned with Islam.

I got to thinking about that when several commentators, referring to how he would be remembered, said that Obama would no longer be remembered as the first Black President, but rather as the first Downgrade President. When he addressed the nation on August 8, his cool detachment seemed alarmingly at odds with the tumult on Wall Street and around the world that had been triggered by Standard & Poor’s decision.

How do Blacks perceive Obama, I wondered.

A friend, Milton, a retired Black corporate executive, attorney, business owner who edits and writes for BlackQuillandInk.com, a website for Black conservatives, responded to my question noting that Black support for Obama’s candidacy was about 98%, but has slipped since to around 86%.

It was his view that the Blacks “have been poisoned to dislike non-Blacks” and to see themselves “as victims.” I understand the victim part, but was surprised by his observation regarding the animosity, if only because White America has gone to fairly extraordinary lengths to redress the ills of the past.

As America’s most famous minority, Blacks are now outnumbered by Hispanics and are being by-passed by virtually all other minority in America in terms of achievement and upward mobility. The chains may have been removed, but, as the syndicated columnist. Walter E. Williams, noted in July 2010, “The pathology seen among a large segment of the Black population is not likely to change because it is not seen for what it is. It has little to do with slavery, poverty and racial discrimination.”

“Today’s black illegitimacy rate is about 70%,” said Williams. “When I was a youngster, during the 1940s, illegitimacy was around 15%…Today, only 35% of black children are raised in two-parent households.”

And it gets worse. In an August 2010 Washington Post article by columnist George Will, he wrote that “By the early 2000s, more than a third of all young black non-college men were under the supervision of the corrections system. More than 60% of black high school dropouts born since the mid-1960s go to prison. Mass incarceration blights the prospects of black women.”

In recent weeks, from the Wisconsin State Fair to Philadelphia, from Milwaukee to Los Angeles, reports of flash mobs of young Blacks attacking whites are stirring racial fears. The most dangerous factor in Black cities and neighborhoods are the hordes of young males, raised by one parent, dropouts from school, no skills, no jobs, no prospects, and lots of angry energy that is too often diverted into crime and violence.

Barack Obama’s economic policies have failed the nation, but they have been especially adverse on Blacks. Black unemployment and foreclosures, for example, have skyrocketed under Obama and remain disproportionately high as compared to other communities. In short, Obama has done nothing for Blacks in America either on the macro and micro level to improve their opportunities or attitudes.

In 2009 I wrote the following: “I fear for my country. America has gone from a vibrant capitalist society to a dying socialist society almost overnight. We have become an impotent sleeping giant sprawled across the globe whiling away our days dreaming of a socialist utopia that does not exist and never has. If anything, we among all, people are the most to be pitied. How pathetic we have become. We have traded our shining city on a hill for a government low-rent housing project. The worst of it is… we did it of our own free will!

Yes, democracy can be a dangerous way to govern a country as the German people learned when allied bombs were raining down on their cities. They chose the Furher of their own free will and they paid a price no nation should ever have to pay.

For democracy to exist, to thrive, and to survive, it is incumbent, it is REQUIRED, that the electorate is intelligent, learned, and knowledgeable people. Because it is they who decide, by their votes, whether democracy, in a free country, lives or dies.

The overriding question today is… Can America even survive? The answer, realistically, is… NO, she cannot… not if she continues the course she chose in 2008. Having said that, we must also say that YES, America can survive… IF she changes course and returns to her roots as a capitalist, democratic representative republic.

There is likely to be a historic internal struggle in America over the next few years to decide the issue of whether America lives or dies. It will be ugly as such struggles always are. The first indication of which form of government Americans really want is likely to come in 2010 when Americans return to the polls. If socialist candidates are thrown out and defeated, there is REAL HOPE. If not, rest assured the struggle will go on for many decades into the future. America will be a troubled land for our grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Old America is gone. This New America cannot hold a candle to the greatness of the old America.”

Earlier this week we learned that China’s economy will surpass that of the US by 2016. In an article by Brett Arends, MarketWatch, entitled: “IMF bombshell: Age of America nears end” Mr. Arends says: “According to the latest IMF official forecasts, China’s economy will surpass that of America in real terms in 2016 — just five years from now.

Put that in your calendar.

It provides a painful context for the budget wrangling taking place in Washington right now. It raises enormous questions about what the international security system is going to look like in just a handful of years. And it casts a deepening cloud over both the U.S. dollar and the giant Treasury market, which have been propped up for decades by their privileged status as the liabilities of the world’s hegemonic power.”

Mr. Arends goes on to say: “According to the IMF forecast, whoever is elected U.S. president next year — Obama? Mitt Romney? Donald Trump? — will be the last to preside over the world’s largest economy.” (You may read the entire article HERE.)

Well, there it is. I actually never thought I would live to see America brought low. But, what we are experiencing here in America is the death of our country at our own hands. It is suicide.

It has been known, for an exceedingly long time, that democracies have a few fatal flaws. In the case of America, we have murdered our country through the use of two of those fatal flaws. Number one: As soon as the electorate realizes it can vote itself money from the country’s treasury, it will break itself, financially, and thus collapse. Number two: In a democracy, it is entirely possible to elect leadership that is not interested in the betterment of the country. In our case, we elected leadership determined to “fundamentally change” America. He has kept his promise.

Honestly, I don’t think we CAN save America. I think the only hope for a free country, on these shores, rests with a small nucleus of Americans who saw this coming, warned, and warned, and warned — anyone who would listen — that it WAS COMING, and are now considered a threat to those elements of the US government who fear, now that their façade has broken and fallen away, that those freedom lovers just might, through political resistance, impede their progress in continuing to disassemble America and remake it into a communist/marxist third-world dung heap.

And don’t forget this: If you think the world has been troubled before, wait until there is NO American leadership. We are getting a taste of it right now in the Middle East.

The point is – the decline of America means the decline of the world … period. We can expect a world in chaos, utter and complete.

So, once more I am going to issue my warning: The stage has been set for a one-world government (Global Governance) to take charge of all the countries of the world. It will be dictatorial – it must be. Preparations have been underway for such a global government for many years now.

Such a government will bring nothing but continued war around the globe. The so-called “Responsibility to Protect” will guarantee it. In a hundred years, or less, the planet will resemble a cinder pockmarked by the ravages of multiple wars raging simultaneously on this once beautiful jewel of our solar system.

This is what America chose. This is what the WORLD chose.

Is there hope? Keep your eye on the remnant.

The world no longer fears America. Obama has seen to that. We are, rightfully, seen as the paper tiger we were so often accused of acting like under former democratic presidents.

Nile Gardiner is a Washington-based foreign affairs analyst and political commentator. He appears frequently on American and British television and radio, including Fox News Channel, CNN, BBC, Sky News, and NPR. He had this to say in a piece that appeared UK based “The Telegraph” on February 28^th, 2011. Mr. Gardiner said:

“Just a few years ago the United States was genuinely feared on the world stage, and dictatorial regimes, strategic adversaries and state sponsors of terror trod carefully in the face of the world’s most powerful nation. Now Washington appears weak, rudderless and frequently confused in its approach. From Tehran to Tripoli, the Obama administration has been pathetically slow to lead, and afraid to condemn acts of state-sponsored repression and violence. When protesters took to the streets to demonstrate against the Islamist dictatorship in Iran in 2009, the brutal repression that greeted them was hardly a blip on Barack Obama’s teleprompter screen, barely meriting a response from a largely silent presidency.” (SOURCE)

I could not agree more with Mr. Gardiner. It has been painful to watch the stumbling and bumbling of the Obama Regime to get as far away from the Arab Melee in the Middle East while, at the same time, “appearing” to be on top of the situation at all times.

It was so obviously contrived that only a lock step “Obamanite” could actually BELIEVE anything coming out of the Oval Office, the West Wing offices of the Obama Minions, or the pitiful Department of State. Secretary of State Clinton appeared strained, saddened, and not a little embarrassed, to be the face of the Obama Foreign Policy.

What a MESS! America wanted change in November of 2008. By Golly – we GOT change!

As Mr. Gardiner points out in his piece in The Telegraph: “In contrast to Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, President Obama fails to see the United States as an exceptional nation, with a unique role in leading the free world and standing up to tyranny. In his speeches abroad he has frequently found fault with his own country, rather than projecting confidence in American greatness. From Cairo to Strasbourg he has adopted an apologetic tone rather than demonstrating faith in America as a shining city upon a hill, a beacon of freedom and liberty. A leader who lacks pride in his own nation’s historic role as a great liberator simply cannot project strength abroad.” (SOURCE)

If I were in church and my pastor said those words, I would have to fight the urge to leap to my feet and shout: “AMEN!” Mr. Gardiner NAILED IT!

Obama has worked tirelessly to get as far behind the curve on the Arab rebellion in the Middle East, as he possibly can. As a result he looks weak, listless, frightened, indecisive, pathetic, and – dare I say it – cowardly.

He has waited until the outcome of each of the uprisings was a given, before he stepped up to the plate … every single time. I have to believe that was by design.

Now, the egghead intellectual elites will tell us he was “deliberating.” Making sure the US would come down on the right side of the issue for the sake of history, etc, etc … ad infinitum.

Simply put: That is pure horse hockey!

Look. The US should never, never, never, elect an intellectual (of any political party) to the office of President. Intellectuals do not make good leaders. They make fairly good thinkers, but that is about all they make.

A LEADER makes decisions, on his feet, on the fly, based on the best information and intelligence he has at the time … and he ACTS … NOW!

Obama is incapable of doing that. We saw evidence of that when he simply was not able to give the order to shoot the Indian Ocean pirates many months ago and the commander on the scene, a military man, finally gave the order. It HAD to be done and it had to be done THEN … and Obama could not do it.

Obama is certainly not a leader. Give him a script, a lectern, and a teleprompter, and he gives a performance (with his oration) that would make the great ancient Roman orators green with envy. But, placed in a political position where he must take responsibility for his words, his actions, and WHOA! He can’t do it. It is simply not in him.

Heck, when the FRENCH are tougher than the US on Libya, hey, you have to flinch, red-faced!

Mr. Gardiner nails it again with this: “The Obama administration’s timid approach to foreign policy is the last thing the world needs at a time of mounting turmoil in the Middle East, including the growing threat of a nuclear-armed Iran, and Islamist militancy on the rise from Egypt to Yemen. US leadership is now needed more than ever, but has embarrassingly gone AWOL on the world stage.” (SOURCE)

That sums it up. Except to say … America will pay for this dilly-dallying by the Obama Regime. We will pay in ways we cannot imagine today.

Finally: I plead with the GOP … give us a conservative candidate for President with an actual possibility of winning in November of 2012. If we do not take back the office of President, America may not last until 2016! Yeah, it IS just that serious.

The Constitution is not a suicide pact.

Paraphrasing the telling words of Justice Jackson who made that comment in a 1949 dissenting opinion, Terminiello v. Chicago, I would say of today’s times, particularly in light of the current insurrection in Egypt – The Constitution is not a suicide pact, but the Progressive-Muslim Axis is.

The world stands at the brink – the Progressive/Muslim Axis vs. Natural Law/Christianity. Indeed, developments in Egypt, Tunisia and Jordan may indeed be that fateful domino that causes civilizations to collide into global catastrophe. Muslims want to invite apocalypse to set the stage for the so-called Twelfth Imam. Since the 1880s, progressives have provoked societal chaos through a litany of diabolical ideas and welfare policies designed to plunge America and the West into utopian socialism as a pretext to destroy Christianity, Natural Law and the Constitution while forcing society into a globalist Marxist state.

Heads the Progressive-Muslim Axis wins – tails Western civilization, Christianity and Israel lose.

Predictably, the litany of what Lenin called useful idiots comes to center stage to spout their evil propaganda. When asked by “NewsHour” host Jim Lehrer if Egypt’s embattled president is a dictator, Vice President Joe Biden answered, “Mubarak has been an ally of ours in a number of things. And he’s been very responsible on, relative to geopolitical interest in the region, the Middle East peace efforts; the actions Egypt has taken relative to normalizing relationship with – with Israel. … I would not refer to him as a dictator.”

The next useful idiot is Mohamed ElBaradei, the former head of the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA). He told the world for a dozen years (1997-2009) that Iran has no intent of obtaining nuclear capability, and if they did it would be only for their domestic energy needs. He turned a blind eye to Pakistan’s nuclear hegemony, so now that nation possess 100 nuclear warheads. Virtually all this developed during his tenure at IAEA.

ElBaradei’s reward for making the world an infinitely more dangerous place? Like Arafat, Carter and Obama, he won the Nobel Peace Prize.

ElBaradei now brags to the world that his recent axis with the Muslim Brotherhood is benign. This Nazi-like organization founded in 1928 is the grandfather of the modern Muslim terrorist movement, yet ElBaradei claims that this political alliance will only bring peace to Egypt and Israel. In the meantime, Israel is furious with the Obama administration for turning against President Mubarak whom they considered a good ally and the provider of Israel’s natural gas, which is now shut off to the saboteurs.

Obama’s remarks regarding the chaos in Egypt have been unprepared, tepid and cowardly, which will only further destabilize the Middle East.

This brings me to the crux of my argument: Is Islam compatible with a republic? No! Yet other than tiny Israel, where in the Middle East or in any Muslim country exists a government structure approximating a democratic republic that guarantees natural rights contained in the Bill of Rights? Such a country can never exist under Islam because Islam is incompatible with Natural Law and a pluralistic, diverse civilization.

The motto of the Muslim Brotherhood is a battle cry for perpetual war against Christianity, Israel and Western civilization – Allah is our objective, the prophet is our leader, the Quran is our law, Jihad is our way, and dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.

The Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty of 1979 began America’s financial aid of Egypt, which amounts to scores of billions of dollars to date. Most of that money goes to Egypt’s military. Egypt, along with several other Muslim nations fought (and lost), four major wars against Israel in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973. Why for the past three decades have we given money to build Egypt’s military and keep a dictator in power? Because they signed that treasonous false peace treaty in 1979 with that nitwit Jimmy Carter while Egypt secretly ships hundreds of tons of weaponry though their shared tunnels into Gaza, which Hamas uses to kill Israelis.

Is America’s Middle East policy legitimate foreign policy or duplicitous extortion, bribery purchased with blood money?

“Better to trust the devil you know than the devil you don’t know” has been America’s cowardly rejoinder for decades of supporting murderous tyrants. I reply: America shouldn’t be trusting or trading with any devils. America’s foreign policy in the Middle East since Jimmy Carter has been one of expediency over justice, pragmatism over principle and cowardice over courage, while these murderous Muslim dictators like Mubarak, Arafat, King Hussein and Abdullah, Pakistan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Saudi sheiks have played America like a pimp uses a prostitute.

America must break the servile bondage of the Progressive-Muslim Axis over American foreign policy. The trillions spent in foreign aid and war over there we’ve essentially flushed down the toilet. What has 35 years of Middle Eastern “diplomacy” gotten us but 9/11, two Iraq wars, Afghanistan and the devolution of American exceptionalism?

I am not promoting neo-isolationist policies America had prior to the World Wars, but how about breaking the slave chains of China, Iran and the Saudis and returning to a robust Reagan foreign policy where we manufacture what we need here in this country without needless regulation and union thuggery? How about America mining for our own rich natural resources in coal, oil, natural gas, shale and other profitable minerals needed for computers, manufacturing and weaponry? America is literally the Saudi Arabia of coal, oil shale and natural gas, but for too long we’ve allowed gutless politicians to be controlled by the environmental fanatics, union thugs and the regulatory Gestapo.

Stop the Progressive-Muslim Axis. America needs a pragmatic and narrowly defined foreign policy that makes alliances with Christian or Christian-friendly nations and avoids what President George Washington warned against, entangling alliances with those nations whose ideology and culture seek our destruction.

Any nation that we have to bribe with foreign aid (i.e., voluntary extortion) isn’t a faithful or true ally and will only push America into bankruptcy and into treasonous geopolitical entanglements.

As we watch the Egyptian government of Hosni Mubarak circle the drain and consider the protests already in progress in Jordan, we Americans might do well to ask if it can happen here.

Let’s be honest. The point of the Islamic arrow is pointed at “The Great Satan” – the United States.

The leader of Jordan’s powerful Muslim Brotherhood (Hammam Saeed) warned Saturday that unrest in Egypt will spread across the Mideast and Arabs will topple leaders allied with the United States.

“The Americans and (President Barack) Obama must be losing sleep over the popular revolt in Egypt,” he said. “Now, Obama must understand that the people have woken up and are ready to unseat the tyrant leaders who remained in power because of U.S. backing. … “We tell the Americans ‘enough is enough’,” he continued. Saeed is reported to have said that Arabs have grown disgruntled with U.S. domination of their oil wealth, military occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, and its support for “totalitarian” leaders in the region.

It is really a shame that all this disruption in the Middle East had to break loose while we have Jimmy Carter II in the Oval Office!

Every conservative drawing breath today understands that a strong US with a strong Commander-in-Chief is the only thing standing between a semi-orderly world and world-wide chaos.

“Oh, but Longstreet! There is the United Nations?” To that I would reply by holding my stomach and roaring a belly laugh — running the risk, as we all know, of herniating myself.

The United Nations is as anti-American as they come. Plus, the madmen from the Middle East control it, almost entirely.

As to the question of whether the Islamic rioting can happen here… yes, it can, and probably will. As the Islamic community grows in America so will its clout. Already, the calls for Sharia law are being whispered about.

See, this is a problem for America created by our very own constitution. Yes, I refer to the first amendment. In particular I refer to the right to practice one’s own religion. It is coming back to bite us in “the derriere.”

At this point in our history, there is simply no way to amend the constitution to outlaw the practice of certain religions in the United States. But, I will predict, that not too far into our future we will find it absolutely necessary to do just that and — I am afraid – it will be too late.

What of America’s friend, Israel? She must seek new friends elsewhere. The Obama Administration has thrown Israel under the bus.

Having been reared as an evangelical Christian – I have a deep, ingrained, understanding of what this abandonment of Israel by Obama means for the US. It means God’s wrath will be turned against this country.

Of course, you are free to believe whatever you want. But, I am just expressing my own belief that an accounting will be required of America for her actions toward Israel.

Many in America believe we are already feeling the effects of “Divine Disgust” as our country teeters on the brink of economic disaster. Whether we like to admit it or not, America is eternally linked to Israel.

The so-called “cold peace” between Israel and Egypt is rapidly melting, right before our eyes. Should a Muslim theocratic regime wind up in power in Egypt, the southern threat to Israel will be renewed — and remember, Israel no longer has the Sinai as a buffer.

And there is the Suez Canal through which much of the world’s oil must travel. It is unsettling, to say the least, to consider the possible choke-hold Islamic fundamentalists could have on the world’s supply of oil.

Whether we want to admit it, or not, America and the free world are involved in a Third World War for dominance of the globe. There is no end in sight.

The plain truth is — there is no way any nation, practicing any religion other than Islam, can exist in peace with the practioners of Islam.

The goal of the so-called religion of peace is to establish a worldwide caliphate (kingdom) ruled by Islamic law … period! It now appears they will accomplish their goal no matter how brutal the strategy and tactics required.

In answer to the question posed in the title to this commentary: Yes, it can happen here. In fact, it has already begun.
