And, surely, if the United States cannot achieve victory over the Taliban with 100,000 troops, we are unlikely to achieve it with 70,000, or however many may remain after 2014.”

Patrick J. Buchanan

Townhall.com/columnists/patbuchanan/2011/06/24/is_obama_only_postponing_the_inevitable

The typical American television viewer—who is not privy to inside information—can only conclude that the country which claims the title of “Destroyer of Civilizations,” is committed to full tribalism as defined by its own wish-fulfillment to self-actualize into the natural outlaw lair it has always been.

Since the apprehension of the brigand, Osama bin Laden, outlaw lairs now understand the American Eagle can suddenly swoop down to snatch the prey from the lap of security.

The Taliban is in many cases the people of Afghanistan and it is NOT in our national security interests to try to fashion a silk purse from a sow’s ear of diplomacy.

What may be retrieved from what many conceive to be yet another Don Quixote adventure, is a new awareness and resolve regarding the projection of American military power. This decisiveness of a nation—which remains committed to George Washington’s admonition that we be at all times prepared for war—has been severely compromised by Resident Obama’s continuing heralds of withdrawal timetables.

War must be understood in its totality, for it exacts the lifeblood and treasure of a nation and this war in Afghanistan was NEVER about nation-building for ingrates who tell us: “Thank you very much, now go home.”

Afghanistan was slated for punishment—not welfare–as a direct result of providing a safe haven for Osama bin Laden , thereby being in violation of George W. Bush’s doctrine for dealing with terrorist and sanctuary state as one cohesive unit.

War is a machine best greased and oiled by expropriation of the spoils, as Adolph Hitler correctly perceived.

With the recently discovered mineral wealth of Afghanistan, the value of which is in excess of a TRILLION dollars; it would be foolhardy to withdraw and leave this war booty to the enemy.

Countries which are defeated in war by the United States of America, cannot expect that as a direct result, they will somehow become the welfare wards of the American people, who are already tapped out to the limit.

Nor should these wretched people imagine they have the “civil rights” to move to Zoo America under a refugee designation.

Nowhere in the Constitution does it say that the American taxpayer is Santa Claus to the world, nor does the government hold the power to impose such a mandate over an ostensibly free people.

The concept of “nation-building” by amassing foreign entanglements, has now been proven to be another bright shining lie promoted by the titans of finance, who create war behind the scenes under color of United Nations authority.

America has become very confused regarding the obligations of war. It is not in the national interest to provide welfare to foreign governments, in the form of rebuilding cities destroyed by American military power. Nor is it a mandate to import these populations of defeated adversaries into American culture as “refugees,” when the whole country subjugated by American military power, qualifies under that designation.

The prosecution of war has become another facet of trade, where national wealth goes out and what returns as a business investment, is a refugee.

The international banker grows rich and fat and the state inherits a foreign welfare ward to replace its dead soldier.

This nation borrows from other nations, so that they may fund their economies and protect their military objectives, all on our dime and obligation.

This nation does not prosecute war to provide an intravenous transfusion of our national life force, to build another culture in the vain hope that it will grow to fit our own mold and at our own expense, no less.

Afghanistan should pay a service charge to America, for the American lives lost and the treasure America expended to prosecute this unwinnable war and rebuild infrastructure for our enemy, while our own economy went without.

Donald Trump understands that America should be the payee and NOT the payer in all matters of love and war. He also understands that one does not “soldier on,” when there is no profit potential in the form of national security and solvency.

“McCain and the neocons will blame what is coming, a terrible day in Kabul and across Afghanistan, on those who refused to soldier on, no matter the cost in blood and treasure. But the people who should be indicted by history are not those who, after half a trillion dollars and a decade of bleeding, decided to cut America’s losses, but those who stampeded this country into two of the longest and least necessary wars in the history of the republic.”

Patrick J. Buchanan

If the United States has learned anything, it must be that our nation must be the one to choose and define the field of engagement—NOT the enemy.

We do not tell that enemy the precise hour when or if we will quit.

The only rationale for remaining in Afghanistan, is to garner the spoils of war, as the second phase of military operations.

That engagement cannot mean adoption and welfare for the alien culture. There can be no “amnesty” concept to win hearts and minds shaped only by tribal loyalty and the biding of time.

Rather than telegraphing the defeat of withdrawal timetables, the United States should be reaping the spoils of war as compensation and to fuel the war machine.

“It’s all about attitude” and the United States is no more obligated to budge, than say Red China is intent on exiting its occupation of Tibet.

The war cannot lend itself to a solution, when the nation fails to imagine how to make lemonade out of lemons.

It’s not the destination, nor is it the “roadmap” to peace, but the journey itself which defines the course of action.

The poor United States of America, which can no longer think for itself in an intelligent manner! What will this idiot government do when its first string players in the halls of government, are a bunch of bench warmers?

Afghanistan need only be pacified—NOT tamed.

Nations in defeat now imagine they will dictate the terms, as they see that we as a nation have failed to play our own game in the arena which boasts of destroying all invaders down through the centuries.

Unwinnable wars, by their very nature must not define our own national resolve when faced with them.

The question must not focus on what we have failed to accomplish in an impossible atmosphere, but rather what can best be done to make this war pay for itself.

We owe that to the American people and none other.

This war has been an Anopheles to plague the American people, who are now resolved to do a little pumping and sucking of their own—in the form of the natural mineral wealth of Afghanistan.

America should also be entirely managing the opium industry in Afghanistan for the benefit of American medicine and to control the bread and butter of the enemy.

The key which will crack this Trojan War is the flow of narcotics. That is where the will of the enemy to resist the occupier, becomes forfeit to an Achilles heel.

The blood of our soldiers demands a service charge from Afghanistan to be made to their bereaved families, not a promise to cut and run before the final reckoning.

No Short Term Middle East Solutions

A problem with which American administrations have grappled since the days of Thomas Jefferson’s presidency has been Arabs and the Middle East. The Marine anthem mentions “the shores of Tripoli” because, in 1801, Jefferson sent them to there to put down the Barbary pirates.

One of the best books on this subject is “Power, Faith, and Fantasy: America in the Middle East, 1776 to the Present” by Michael B. Oren who, with exquisite irony, is currently serving as the Israeli ambassador to the United States, the nation of his birth.

Regarding the Middle East, if you have had the feeling that the Obama administration has been spectacularly inept as it takes its turn at bat, you’re right. Barely six months into his first year, on June 4, 2009, the newly-minted President gave a speech in Cairo.

“I’ve come to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles—principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”

Obama’s impressions, aspirations, or re-write of history, past and present, clashes with the reality of current and past events. He has, in fact, adopted virtually all of his much maligned predecessor’s policies in the Middle East and took a bow for authorizing the long awaited assassination of Osama bin Laden.

As this is being written, the White House is debating the levels of military withdrawal from Afghanistan and Iraq. In both cases the public is alternatively told that the leaders of those two nations either want the U.S. to leave or to stay. Where the truth falls no one seems to know.

It is very instructive to read what is being published in the newspapers that serve readers in the Middle East. Suffice to say that neither the President, nor his policies, is well regarded. One can read daily translations of articles from their press, as well as Asia and Europe at an interesting site, .http://watchingamerica.com/News.

I would argue that no amount of “hands on” involvement with the events unfolding from the Maghreb nations of northern Africa to those that form the heart of the Middle East will significantly alter the outcome of events occurring there.

In addition to the uprisings to throw off the shackles of despotism from Tunisia to Libya to Egypt to Syria, Bahrain to Yemen, the common denominator for these and other Arab nations is their well-deserved sense of having been the victims of various regimes. They are all likely to be united in their fear of the rise of Iran, a Persian nation, and one that will soon achieve nuclear parity with Pakistan, India and, yes, Israel.

The world has lived with “the bomb” since the end of World War Two in August 1945. Nuclear weapons have not been used since, but Iran is the wild card. It will not yield to international sanctions. Its cabal of ayatollahs will not be overthrown from within. It must either suffer a massive attack on its nuclear and military facilities or it will fill the skies over Israel and other nations with mushroom clouds.

The leaders of Western nations seem unaware that, immediately upon the death of Mohammed in 632 A.D., Islam split into two factions, Sunnis and Shiites, who have been in conflict with one another ever since.

The history of Islam consists of waging war on everyone else as well either for the purpose of conversion, looting, or the collection of taxes laid on non-Muslims. This history has been broken by rare, short periods of tolerance, but Muslims, convinced that their Koran is the absolute word of Allah, have been indifferent to the values of the West and the advances of modernization that have usually been imposed on them through colonialism.

Islam has been around nearly 1,400 years and gives no evidence of reforming itself away from the Arab culture in which it took seed and away from the brutal punishments that pass for justice. It was and is a savage “religion” bent on global domination.

Even when Muslims find hospitality in non-Muslim nations like those of Europe they immediately set upon an effort to impose Sharia law, usually through intimidation, on the indigenous population. In the Middle East, hands and heads are still cut off, rape victims are stoned, and a charge of blasphemy or apostasy can get you killed.

As this is being written, Christians and the few Jews still residing in the Middle East and the Maghreb are fleeing for their lives as their churches are being burnt to the ground and their lives are at risk.

One would think that, after U.S. involvement—invasions—of Afghanistan and Iraq, we would have figured out that Islamic nations are impervious to any concept of Western style democracy. Islam’s claims to be a religion are framed within a political system run by theocrats.

Elections have managed to put Hamas in charge in Gaza and Hezbollah in charge of Lebanon. The ayatollahs grabbed power in Iran and turned that nation into a prison. The mobs in the streets of Syria are trying to overthrow the Assad dynasty, warring against an Alawaite minority tribe ruling as Baathists. Yemen is a basketcase and Somalia is even worse.

The ignorance of these facts has cost Americans billions, if not trillions, with our adventures in Afghanistan and Iraq. It has led President Obama to intercede in Libya for no good reason. It is a desert under which oil exists. Beyond that, it hardly matters which dictator is in charge. Gadhafi’s dabbling in terrorism cost him more than it was worth.

So long as Obama is President, the U.S. will pursue unrealistic and often stunningly stupid policies and actions as regards Islam and Muslim nations.

By way of one small example, in April Janet Napolitano, the Secretary of Homeland Security, appointed Arif Alikhan, a devout Muslim, as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development. Alikhan was born in Damascus, Syria. I am sure you feel safer now knowing that.

Are there nice Muslims? Sure. Are there “moderate” Muslims? Possibly, but they are outnumbered by the millions who are not. Oil money and various illegal enterprises support terrorism. Even Americans contribute because the Obama administration will not permit exploration or drilling for an estimated 150 billion barrels of our own domestic oil.

And you still wonder why President Obama actually bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia? Or that George W. Bush ignored the fact that all but one of the nineteen 9/11 terrorists were Saudis? No President wants a repeat of the 1973 Saudi oil boycott.

Nothing good can come out of the current turmoil affecting most Arab Muslim nations. The U.S. would be wise to maintain its military power, but the fact is our Navy is being reduced, our Air Force is flying aging aircraft, and the combat divisions of our Army and Marines are worn out from repeated tours in the Middle East.

Obama is as clueless as Woodrow Wilson who thought he could bring “peace in our time” and only managed to help set in motion the run-up to World War Two. He has put America at risk in so many ways I am losing count.

Cyril Almeida, writing in the Pakistani newspaper, Dawn, a few days after the killing of bin Laden noted that, when the question is asked privately, “No one will say anything but, yes, they knew he was there.”

For 34 of its 64 years, Pakistan has been run by generals whose military intelligence presumably works in league with its Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate (ISI), though both have their own agendas. It is unlikely that much civilian control over either exists.
Almeida wrote, “If we didn’t know, we are a failed state; if we did know, we are a rogue state. But does anyone believe they didn’t know?”

If it were an individual, Pakistan would be diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, subject to raging fears that India intends to invade on a moment’s notice and antagonistic to Afghanistan as it harbors those who attack it.

In his recently published book, “Pakistan: A Hard Country”, Anatol Lieven provides insight to a nation that, until lately, was home to the most wanted man on the face of the Earth, Osama bin Laden. He was dispatched in a compound that was within a short distance of Pakistan’s equivalent of West Point or England’s Sandhurst. If we are to believe Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership, neither had any idea he was there.

“Trying to understand Pakistan’s internal structures and dynamics is complicated,” writes Lieven. “If there is one phrase which defines many aspects of Pakistan…it is ‘Janus-faced’: in other words, many of the same features of Pakistan’s state and government which are responsible for holding Islamist extremism in check are at one and the same time responsible for holding back Pakistan’s social, economic, and political development.”

“Pakistan,” writes Lieven, “is divided, disorganized, economically backward, corrupt, violent, unjust, often savagely oppressive towards the poor and women, and home to extremely dangerous forms of extremism and terrorism.”

Pakistan came into being in 1947 when leaders of India’s Muslim population like Mohammed Ali Jinnah, its founder, made it clear they did not want to be part of the newly independent India after Great Britain relinquished its colonial rule. Later, when East Pakistan broke loose to establish its independence in 1971, it became Bangladesh.

The thing Westerners find difficult to understand is the tribal nature of nations like Pakistan and Afghanistan, but it is not difficult to understand “Muslim nationalism and the bitter hostility to the U.S. role in the Muslim world in general and Pakistan’s region in particular.” However, in order to pursue the present combat role against the Taliban in Afghanistan, the U.S. and its European allies rely on neighboring Pakistan in order to provision supplies to their troops.

Since the Taliban are a creation of Pakistan’s ISI and because Pakistan has long been where al Qaeda has found refuge, those in charge have played a Janus or two-faced role for a very long time; at times providing intelligence of great value and at others aiding or at the very least, protecting the terrorist organizations. In return, the Taliban have proven an internal problem for the military and the government, occasionally requiring that they be driven out of areas they have seized.

In many ways, Pakistan is barely a nation. In its tribal northwest regions, such as the now fabled Waziristan, the state has little influence or control. As to its tribes, the two dominant ones are Punjab and Pathan. Both pursue their own interests.

As Lieven describes it, “A fundamental political fact about Pakistan is that the state, whoever claims to lead it, is weak, and (the) society in its various forms is immensely strong.” It is a nation of many separate fiefdoms who “plunder the state for patronage and favors” and this is graphically demonstrated by the fact that “barely one percent of the population pays income tax, and the wealthiest landowners in the country pay no direct taxes at all.”

Thus, the billions that the U.S. has pumped into its economy take on a very critical role, particularly for the military. This is a very different world from that of the West. The majority of Pakistan’s political parties are dynastic, led by a few powerful families. The entire society operates on kinship loyalty.

Pakistan is a perfect example of why the U.S. and the West are stymied by the illogic, the irrationality, and the duplicity of nations in which Islam is the predominant factor in their politics and society.

When you add in the geography of Pakistan, lodged between India and Afghanistan, bordered by China and Iran, you have a nation that can neither be ignored nor abandoned because of its strategic location.

Finally, there is the fact that Pakistan has a nuclear arsenal that must never be allowed to fall into the hands of the Taliban, al Qaeda, or anyone else crazed enough to use it for the greater glory of Allah.

Pakistan is a pit of deception and it is notable that our current relations with it consist of the special operations raid that killed bin Laden and the drones that continue to kill al Qaeda and Taliban who make themselves available targets.

That’s a fact. America did not win the first Iraq war. That, too, is a fact. Iraq is set up, as we write these few comments, for its next dictator — with at least a couple of Iraqis preening themselves in the shadows just waiting for the moment, which will not be long in coming.

Look, the plain truth is – you cannot win a war while attempting to win the hearts and minds of those you are warring against! Until America understands this we will NEVER win another war!

To be successful in war you have to beat the snot out of your opponent through attrition and any other means at your disposal until he either has no troops left to put into the field against your forces, or he is so beaten that he loses the will to fight. The victor must make the price of going to war against him so costly any would-be enemy will think long and hard before firing that first shot. America doesn’t do that anymore. It is common knowledge that if you desire the rebuilding of your country — simply attack America!

Another important aspect of wining a war is to never take the civilian population off the list of targets. That may shock you. It should. But war is hell. People die – innocent people die, too. I repeat: war is hell!

It is nice to make an effort to avoid civilian causalities, but one must understand that it will prolong the war and make it imminently more costly in lives and treasure to win a conflict. A civilian population that is being decimated will put pressure on its government to end the war, even if that means surrender on any terms.

We did nearly everything wrong in Iraq. Rest assured, we will be forced to return combat troops to Iraq in the future. No matter what our national leaders try to tell us – the war in Iraq is not over, not nearly over. If this withdrawal is anything it is a time-out, a breather for our troops, nothing more. I hope the military brass has the good sense to leave a goodly portion of those troops in Kuwait, because they will be needed again — and soon.

We are making even worse mistakes in Afghanistan. We cannot win a war in Afghanistan without the use of nuclear weapons. I mean, of course, a decisive victory. The best we can hope for is some sort of agreement with the Afghans/Taliban. I expect that very thing is being worked on at this writing.

Just LOOK at Afghanistan. To begin with, the Afghans have very little to lose, period. The terrain in Afghanistan is unsuitable for a conventional war. We have had very limited success smashing those solid rock caves with even those powerful bunker buster bombs and missiles. Those Afghan mountain redoubts can be taken out using tactical nukes. If the US were set on victory in Afghanistan, we’d use those nukes. We would also wipe out their poppy fields and decimate the Taliban population, both the civilian and warrior class Taliban. We would take their lives, wholesale.

Unfortunately, our President sees himself as a citizen of the world FIRST and a citizen of the United States second. It is the first time in history that the President of the United States views himself as being a citizen of the country with which the military he commands is at war!

That can’t be good for any kind of REAL victory in Afghanistan. All this President wants out of Afghanistan — is the troops he commands. And – as soon as he can come to some sort of arrangement with the Taliban, He will pull the US Military out of Afghanistan, too.

You know, I doubt President Obama ever played organized football or baseball. He probably played that game the liberals love so much – soccer. I still contend that soccer is no game for Americans. American games don’t end in “ties.” That’s because Americans play to win.

Just like American football players and baseball players and basketball players are trained to win, the American military is trained to win… not tie with the enemy.

I don’t think Obama has any clue how humiliating it is to our troops to have them fight a war with one hand tied behind their backs and then, after spilling their blood at his command, order them to withdraw short off a victory. Oh, they will salute and comply with his commands, but he will have lost their respect and their trust for the remainder of his term as their Commander-in-Chief. (No wonder the democrats fear the military vote this November!)

America’s days in Afghanistan are numbered. Everybody knows it: Obama, the Taliban, the US troops in Afghanistan, and the American people. We all know it because we know this President has no taste for real conflict of any kind — political or military. Just look at all the “czars” he appointed so as to avoid conflict with the Senate. Look at his recess appointments made, we believe, for the same reason. If he can give a command and have his wishes fulfilled — fine. But – if he has to fight for it – forget about it. That is what we see in Iraq and what we will see soon in Afghanistan.

It is disgusting to see the one government organization, which really understands what honor is, the US Military, have their own honor tarnished by a Commander-in-Chief not worthy of the troops he commands.

Quags Like A Duck

“You cannot tell the enemy when you’re leaving, when you’re in warfare, and expect your strategy to prevail.”
John Sidney McCain III

Barack Hussein Obama is NOT Abraham Lincoln and he is certainly NOT John F. Kennedy, so this writer will stand-in for Lloyd Millard Bentsen here, to tell Obama that he is NOT JFK and he has not delivered Camelot as he promised, for the nation continues to run up massive war deficits under a fractional reserve banking system.

The prerequisite for assuming the mantle of JFK, is for anyone who claims that exalted title, to enforce Kennedy’s executive order, abolishing the Federal Reserve–which Obama has utterly failed to do.

“McChrystal and his inner circle behaved in a manner that was stupid, arrogant and immature. In their thoughtlessness, they let down troops who have made tremendous sacrifices.

A year into the Obama surge and a year before the reputed July 2011 withdrawal deadline, there are some 94,000 U.S. personnel serving in Afghanistan. Their interests must come first. They deserve the best military commander available.”
Debra J. Saunders

We reap what we sow and if Obama has garnered intolerable insubordination, that is precisely what he deserves for the many “full color” gaffes–and outright treason– he has committed against the American people.

Resident Obama’s first major gaffe, was running for high office, when he quite clearly knew that he was NOT qualified to be president under the guidelines of the Constitution. His second major gaffe–which was the smoking gun to confirm his usurpation–was the two million dollars he spent on lawyers, to block access to his birth origins and academic records.

The alleged “birth certificate” Obama did offer up, proved to be a blatant forgery. Gaffe three.

His most recent gaffe, was to inform the American people that they have “no standing” to question his birth origins or qualifications. Such a statement is hardly worthy of gathering any respect from the American people, who question the origins and agenda of this stranger–with the illegal alien aunt– in the White House.

Resident Obama patronizingly dismissed the American people of small towns in the Midwest, as rubes, who are dependent on guns and religion.
Hillary Clinton saw an “elitist and out of touch” attitude in Obama’s arrogant statement.
The one who broke the story, was Huffington Post volunteer and citizen journalist, Mayhill Fowler, who stated she felt the duty to report the statement, despite her support for the Obama team.

If anyone is guilty of not being able to hold his tongue, it is the Great Imposter, Barack Hussein Obama.

As for “stupid, arrogant and immature,” Obama qualified for all three designations when he dismissed the citizens of Arizona–and by extension, the 18 states which followed suit–as “misguided” and “irresponsible,” for reserving the state’s right and prerogative to defend itself from the Mexican onslaught. If anyone deserves dismissal, it is Obama for not only directly thwarting the will of the American people–by colluding with the Mexican occupation army–but by his refusal to defend the states from the many encroachments–in the form of rape, robbery and murder—committed against American citizens by Mexican nationals.

If anyone has demoralized and compromised the “vital mission,” it is Barack Hussein Obama, for he has telegraphed America’s weakness and lack of resolve to the world.
What “vital mission” was served when the Democratic jackals in Congress, rose to deliver a standing ovation to the cheeky Mexican president, for meddling in sovereign American affairs and publicly castigating America for racism–a nation which elected a black president– on the world stage? Was this not an act of giving aid and comfort to the enemy, by a criminal–and Marxist–regime on Capitol Hill?

Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner discussed Chinese complaints about problems with U.S. human rights, which include crime, poverty, homelessness and racial discrimination, by raising the ante to “admit”–without any cue from the Chinese, who did not broach the subject– an alleged “racism” by the people of Arizona toward an army of Mexican nationals, in active annexation of American territory.

What was the mission accomplished by confessing to the Red Chinese–a people who have committed genocide in Tibet, continue to threaten Taiwan and indeed have murdered 40 million of their own people under the cultural purges of Chairman Mao?
Weak is as weak does. Obama is into playing the blame game, to explain his many glaring deficiencies and pawn them off onto others.

This gutless betrayal–and gut-spilling approval-seeking behavior– of the Obama delegation, toward one of the worst human-rights offenders on the planet, speaks volumes regarding the spineless apology tour, which is the hallmark of the Obama administration.
The American people are continually witness to this alleged “president” bowing and scraping before foreign potentates, as he humiliates America before the world, with his specialty–the kowtow.

“White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told the press corps that the president ‘was angry,’ as the story distracts from a ‘vital mission.’ Fair enough.”
Debra J. Saunders

This writer would suggest that Obama has it backwards. It is the American people who are angry about the hijack of their country and the social engineering experiment in Marxism by the Obama administration. It is the American people who are angry about seeing their sons and daughters thrown into the meat grinder of Iraq and Afghanistan, with absolutely no objective defined–other than withdrawal–and certainly no strategic big picture of the situation.

It is the American people who are angry that they cannot get a straight answer from our Narcissist in Chief, but have received insults and humiliations in abundance.

The most glaring insult–and crime– of this administration, has been the legal move against Arizona, by DOJ head, Attorney General Eric H. Holder, who was too lazy to read the actual bill, which is in direct conformance with constitutional and federal law. That’s right Simple Simon, check it out to “see if it’s legal.”

There is no “vital mission” to be claimed in Afghanistan, as Osama bin Laden escaped at Tora Bora. If there is any“vital mission” to be accomplished at this juncture, it is for the nation to use the aimless rolling stone of American foreign policy, to gather the moss of war spoils. The new-found mineral wealth of Afghanistan should be used to compensate the American people for the over 300 billion dollars–plus interest–thrown down the sand trap in Afghanistan. In addition, the families of our war dead should receive 5 million dollars for each son and daughter lost in this theater of the absurd, as compensation for their bereavement. Call it a “service charge.”

The best military commander available cannot cover the deficiencies of the alleged Commander-in-Chief, who insists on telegraphing his departure date for the enemy.

If anyone can plan on a good dressing-down, it must be Obama himself, who may one day find himself on the receiving end of a military coup. That will be the day history slams the door on “America’s Transformational Figure” and his inept administration.

What Price Indeed?

“ ‘The narrative … has been too negative.’

So says Defense Secretary Robert Gates of political and press commentary about the war in Afghanistan. It reminds him of the pessimism of June 2007, before the Iraqi surge began to succeed, said Gates.

But the narrative is coming now not just from critics of the war but stalwart defenders. John McCain says the war effort could be headed for ‘crisis’ and holds President Obama responsible for announcing a timetable for withdrawal starting next summer.

And how optimistic can Americans be when, last month, in the ninth year of our longest war, the U.S. field commander, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, said the Taliban have fought us to a draw.

Eight years ago, the Taliban seemed finished.

Since then, we have poured in scores of thousands of troops, spent $300 billion, lost 1,000 soldiers and seen thousands more wounded. Yet, the Taliban have never been stronger or operated more broadly.

Unfortunately, the narrative the Pentagon deplores is rooted in reality.”

Patrick J. Buchanan

http://townhall.com/columnists/PatBuchanan/2010/06/18/what_price_afghanistan

Commentary

“A tomb now suffices him for whom the whole world was not sufficient.”

Alexander the Great

The original intent for the incursion into Afghanistan, was to punish a rogue regime for harboring Osama bin Laden–NOT getting sidetracked by playing Don Quixote, to chase the windmill of “nation-building,” nor getting sucked into the vortex of quagmire.

There is something fundamentally wrong with the way America declares and wages war. Could it be because Congress no longer fulfills this mandate, but instead must rely on the phony storefront of the international bankers–the United Nations and its toothless “resolutions?”

This politically correct cake walk under the U.N. “Mother may I?” puts blinders on the 360 degree panoramic view needed to assess the full battle plan for any geopolitical situation which threatens the national security.

“No one had the big picture,” according to one defense official’s acount of the escape by Osama bin Laden at Tora Bora. This failure to capture bin Laden turned out to be as significant to the war effort as the Battle of Midway had been for an earlier generation of Americans.

Finding Manuel Noriega during the Panama invasion of 1989 and Saddam Hussein during the 1991 Persian Gulf War were top priorities for the armed forces, but those earlier successes were not duplicated because of the reliance on Afghans to do all the ground work, while the emphasis of the United States military was on a bombing campaign.

The failure to capture Osama bin Laden was primarily due to the fact that U.S. forces were not in place on the ground.

The failure to capture Osama bin Laden proved to be a loss of face for President George W. Bush, who had promised retribution for any nation-state which harbors terrorists. The fact that bin Laden still remains at large gives the enemy a tremendous psychological boost.

The Gitmo detainees were not seen as a resource to be used as poker chips to stop the spate of beheadings of innocent civilians around the world by al-Qaeda fanatics. The Islamic fundamentalists who committed these beheadings, could have been held hostage by selected public executions of their brethren at Gitmo.

Such things are typical in the Islamic world, where the beheading of 63 people was broadcast live on Saudi television, in reprisal for the Grand Mosque Seizure, carried out by dissidents against the Saudi ruling family at the Al-Masjid al-?ar?m Mosque in Mecca, November 20, 1979.

Public executions are “traditional” in the Arab world and something which is taken for granted. The Arab world understands and respects violence, not Christian charity. Islam is a warrior cult.

The United States chose to go the route of an apology tour for what transpired at Abu Ghraib. National self flagellation signaled a lack of our national resolve to America’s enemies. While in truth, all is fair in love and war.

No power has ever been able to influence the course of events in Afghanistan–not even Alexander the Great–so how could the United States of America possibly imagine that it could just gift these Pathan tribesmen with an American value system?

More cigars and whiskey, chief ?

The children of Native Americans were forced to live like white men at reservation schools, where they received regimentation, a short haircut, and traded their moccasins and sacred Catlinite pipes for shiny black shoes and a Bible. This did not change their world view or their love of the open prairie. In essence they remained what they always were–proud Indians.

Old formulas are not relevant to the challenges facing the nation today. Thin veneers of westernization presented as solid wood, chip off quite easily in distant theaters. Afghanistan cannot be pacified by America’s vision quest.

The people of Afghanistan grow opium and smoke hashish as a matter of course and culture, which does not translate to American cultural values.

It is their bread and butter; the figurative bison hunt of a tribal people. The Taliban take women who “get out of line” down to the soccer stadium to put a bullet in their heads or stone them to death. They destroy human life and world cultural heritage sites with impunity, the same way they swat flies with horsehair whips.

If America is to win this Trojan War, perhaps it should retreat–like Wyatt Earp–and come back later, to blast these outlaws to smithereens.

If the United States of America has learned anything from the war in Afghanistan, it must be that when America attempts to impose a one-size-fits-all “democracy” not shared by alien cultures, that ideology may not be compatible with the national psyche of that alien culture slated for change. Tribal societies owe allegiance to the warlord and the so-called “nation” of Afghanistan exists only to the outskirts of Kabul.

Likewise the current Mexican occupation army of mestizo serfs, which is actively engaged in the annexation of American territory for Mexico, cannot be persuaded to renounce the Mexican tribe in favor of the American tribe. This is why there can NEVER be such a thing as dual citizenship and thus anyone who claims this status is nothing more than an opportunist, biding his time until he grows strong enough to take over and eclipse the host culture.

The So-called “guest worker” holds a different view, based on his own agenda of nation-building called “Aztlan.” This vision of the Mexican national will come to fruition “by any means necessary” and the fact that America continues to tolerate this blatant annexation by Mexico, speaks volumes about our lack of national resolve to America’s enemies around the globe.

When the United States of America invaded Afghanistan, it was out for blood, but the nation ended up playing Santa Claus with American lives and treasure. It was the same failed desert mirage vision of liberating a nation from a tyrant, but discovering that that tyrant was a stabilizing force in an area prone to tribal internecine warfare.

The Taliban is the stabilizing force in Afghanistan–which we must begin to understand is NOT America and no longer worthy of our attention, as OBL has slipped through our grasp, to live–or die–as a legend.

George W. Bush minimized the importance of capturing bin Laden after the failure at Tora Bora and now perhaps that same attitude should be extended to Afghanistan, as it is no longer in the national security interest to see our forces bled dry for the alleged sake of a people who look to the Taliban for order. In any event, America is one nation which cannot shape the world to its own requirement. This fallacy of universal democracy has been promulgated by the anti-American Council on Foreign Relations.

As Patrick J. Buchanan has most astutely observed, we are a republic–not an empire.

The United States of America is very confused about the mission to be accomplished. This country cannot articulate a viable position and therefore it forfeits the game. This is not defeatist; it is a wake-up call that there are more urgent, more immediate problems to be addressed and that this Afghanistan fiasco has monopolized far too much of the nation’s attention span, as the original objective of capturing bin Laden and cutting off the head of al-Qaeda has proven to be a missed opportunity.

The Mexican occupation army on American soil is glaring proof of America’s confusion. The Department of Homeland Security meanwhile advises Saudi Arabia on how best to secure its own borders.

This blind-leading-the-blind approach to border security, coupled with the reality that America’s Commander-in-Chief is obviously thwarting the resolve of the American people, by the same legal maneuvers he used to block questions about his citizenship status, portends a defeat for America at the hands of Mexico in this Second Mexican War.

The United States government has failed to fathom the hostile intent behind La Reconquista and continues to warm the incubator for Mexican hatchlings, once again neglecting the ground war now on our national doorstep.

This “misguided” and “irresponsible” approach–to coin the words of the alleged “president”– in failing to secure our country from corporate and third world invasion, will destroy our culture, our economy, our Constitution and finally pave the way for the sunset of decline on a noble experiment of freedom, which lasted a mere two hundred and thirty-four years.

If Americans must die, let it be for the sake of their own way of life, which is fast disappearing under the tyrannical regime in Washington.

MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews is right to fear the revolt of the American people, for that people is indeed actively engaged in the Second American Revolution against its own government. Washington has comported itself as a quisling against the national interest, by willful failure to promote the ground war against Mexico and indeed, by direct collusion with the invader.

America may have to forfeit the battle for Afghanistan, but it must not lose the war for the survival of this country.

America was bent on punishing Afghanistan for harboring Osama bin Laden, but instead, ended up opening a community resource center and building infrastructure.

This lunacy is not part of the job description of war and no people should be expected to nation-build in another country, especially when their own nation is coming apart at the seams.

The United States should just punish enemies and not try to be some sort of social service agency and safety net for failed nations, by winning hearts and minds.

Afghanistan is not an Indian reservation which can be pacified by government beef and a few blankets.

This charitable mindset of “nation-building” is a monument to the fixed fortification of man’s stupidity. America does not need to teach the people of Afghanistan to love us, for that is NOT going to happen. What this nation needs to teach them is the price they will pay for giving sanctuary to those who dare to attack our dear country, nothing more.

Meanwhile the Obama administration is making plans to turn illegal alien detention centers into Club Med. For this, Obama should be made to live in a tent city and forced to wear pink silk underwear and eat bologna sandwiches alongside his buddies, for all the baloney he has inflicted on this nation.

Congress recently gave a standing ovation to Mexican president Felipe Calderon for castigating as “racist” a nation which elected it’s first black president. This administration cannot tell the difference between manure and Shinola. It does not have the “right stuff” to win the war, much less polish the presidential boots, for that matter.

Instead of delivering the retribution of Judgment Day, the United States paid and paid and got nothing for its efforts, except utter contempt and loss of face for being too weak to enforce the national will through stern measures. This phenomenon has been apparent in our dealings with Red China (PRC) South America, North Korea, Iran, and most importantly, with the cheeky Mexican invader.

This weakness is reflected in Resident Obama’s recent apology to Red China for Arizona’s firm resolve in crafting a new immigration enforcement law. Loss of face is the new paradigm for international diplomacy with this bowing, scraping administration. It is music without notes.

Yes, it is time to come home–forthwith. A Mexican occupation army on American soil awaits our returning troops.

Since we are unable to function as a “Greatest Generation,” by vaporizing Taliban cities, perhaps we should just come home by following the Pontius Pilate paradigm of hand-washing. We are not going to kill civilians and wholesale destruction is what is required in the Afghanistan theater to prevail. Let this nation for once be pragmatic instead of sentimental.

America needs to get its face slapped into sensibility. Perhaps it should channel General George S. Patton Jr. for the job.

This is no gentleman’s war of genteel behavior. We are dealing with the same sort of blood-thirsty pirates who plagued our Founding Fathers and held them hostage in North Africa, during the Barbary Wars.

Nation-building is indulgence in paying the danegeld of tribute on a vast scale.

This country will not get mad-dog mean, so it is time to bring our troops home, out of harm’s way. That is how the nation may best honor its servicemen and women, who have performed in an exemplary manner and deserve to resume a normal life. Let Afghanistan go to Hell and be consigned to the dustbin of history, where it has always belonged.

Let our departure be a Happy Memorial Day to the living, as we remember their desire to come home!

The nation’s first duty is in preserving the American homeland and family unit–not trying to make a silk purse out of basket case countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan. America does not wage war, by serving as a piggy bank for the enemy. War is about garnering the spoils.

The Afghanistan theater is a dry wash, which simply did not pan-out anything beyond fool’s gold, in the arena of nation-building. Let it not become a tomb for American youth, which did not seek–like Alexander the Great– to conquer the world.

The recently discovered mineral wealth of Afghanistan should of course be garnered before we leave, to compensate the bereaved families of our war dead and the American taxpayer, who funded this adventure to the tune of 300 billion dollars.

Our Warrior Class

I come from a generation, just as several before it, that was drafted into military service. The Draft, conscription, goes back to the days of the Civil War and, before that, it was understood that able-bodied men would serve in militias.

After the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941, many American men lined up around the corner to volunteer to fight the Japanese. Others would be dispatched to the European theatre of war to fight the Nazis.

Still others waited to be drafted into service. During the years leading up to Pearl Harbor many Americans simply wanted to stay out of the Asian conflict that had begun with the Japanese invasion of China many years earlier and the European conflict that had begun when Hitler invaded Poland in 1939. That changed in 1941.

The “greatest generation” fought and won. They did it by being absolutely merciless toward our enemies because that is the only real rule of war. Kill them before they kill us. Lose the war and you are their possession, their slaves.

World War Two was all-out war with civilians dying in the hundreds of thousands because the people’s will to fight on had to be extinguished. Dresden was bombed to dust; Berlin became a shell of shattered buildings. As American forces waited to invade the homeland of Japan, President Truman ordered the bombing of Hiroshima and, when the Japanese emperor and generals still refused to meet the terms of unconditional surrender, he bombed Nagasaki. World War Two ended.

I often tell people that the history of mankind is the history of war. It is always the history of winners and losers. It may take a short breath, but war is a constant throughout history and in the life of each new generation.

Shortly after the end of World War Two in 1945, the Korean War began when North Korea invaded South Korea on June 25, 1950. That war drew Americans back to a new battlefield until, on July 27, 1953, a truce was signed. The two Koreas are technically still in a state of war because no peace treaty exists.

Then, of course, for most Americans today there was the Vietnam War. Whether of the generation who fought it or those born after it, the Vietnam War remains the war we lost. It remains a cauldron of debate over its conduct. What emerged from that war, however, was an all-volunteer military, a warrior class.

Over the years of the Iraq-Afghanistan conflict I had occasion to write that these were the wrong wars in the wrong places, that the U.S. was wasting its treasure and young men (and women) there. I think, on reflection that I was wrong.

I think, now, that even this veteran of the U.S. Army, drafted in the 1960s, simply grew weary of these wars and neglected the broad history of conflicts dating back to biblical times.

A friend of mine, a professional soldier who served for 25 years, had this to say:

“When I first came in, the drill sergeants, platoon sergeants and sergeants majors were all ‘Nam vets and they all told us the same thing; we are an all-volunteer Army, none of us were drafted; having served in a conscript Army they all said that we wouldn’t want to be in conflict with a bunch of draftees who did not want to be there. They told us about disciplinary problems in the draftee military you would not believe.”

“The war we are currently engaged in is The One Hundred Years War and the sooner the American people get used to that, the better. I do not differentiate between the ‘Iraq War’ and the ‘Afghanistan War’; they are simply different theaters of the same war.”

In his new book, “Kaboom”, Matt Gallagher traces his transformation from an ROTC college graduate to his battlefield experiences in Iraq. He wrote:

“As I watched the platoon joke, clown, and ramble their way through the holiday dinner, I couldn’t help but think about the country that had produced them. These were the men in the flesh that society only celebrates in the abstract.”

“The NCOs had served in the army long enough to stop caring about the whims of the American culture they protected so effectively; the joes were just removed enough to not fully recognize how the same society that reared us had detached itself from us the day we signed our enlistment papers. In a voluntary military, we fought for the nation, not with it.”

Americans, most of whom honor our troops, have not had our lives personally touched by the Mideast conflicts. The way of life they are fighting to protect has barely been altered as they put their lives on the line every day in a combat zone or service in any of the branches.

Under such circumstances, it is easy to forget there are countless enemies, mostly Muslim, striving to bring down America and to kill us in the same fashion as they killed some three thousand of us on a single day at the beginning of this decade.

Withdrawing from conflict zones in Iraq and Afghanistan may seem like a good idea, an end to our casualties in battle, but those who are there, our warrior class, know that it would just be a brief cessation of what will be a very long war we cannot dare to lose.

America No Longer Has the WILL to WIN!

…The Greatest Generation Should be Ashamed of Us Today.

As I considered President Obama’s words concerning the war in Afghanistan a few days ago, I found myself embarrassed by them. To realize Obama had no intention of ‘winning” a war in Afghanistan, and that the word victory was never used in his entire speech, it became clear to me that Obama was only concerned with “ending” the war in Afghanistan — not winning it. Now, let’s be clear about something. The United States could/can win a war in Afghanistan. The United States could/can win a war anywhere it chose/chooses.

Just nuke ‘em.

No, I am NOT KIDDING. Had we nuked the Tora Bora region of Afghanistan when we were sure Osama bin Laudin was hiding there, we would have been finished with the never ending search for him and we would have sent a powerful message to our enemies — everywhere — to attack the US is to bring unimaginable death and destruction down on the attackers and their loved ones. The price is not worth it.

The Commander-in-Chief could have ordered it done — and — in my opinion, SHOULD have ordered it done. We had the means and the wherewithal to do it. What we did not have was THE WILL!

Today as I think back to 1941 and the sneak attack by the Japanese on the US Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, I thank God that we had men of fortitude in charge of this country. Men of courage stepped forward and offered themselves, their futures, and their very lives to win a total victory over the Japanese and, as it turned out, the Germans, as well.

Today, as the few survivors of that great conflict watch America circle the drain, how sad they must be. They must be deeply depressed to watch the wishy-washy, limp-wristed, leadership of this nation apologize for being the world’s only superpower. To watch a President of the United States actually BOW to a Japanese leader must make them physically sick to their stomachs. To watch the American leader acting more as a naive boy, than a man, on the world stage has to be a bitter pill to swallow for the remnant of the Greatest Generation.

I have a similar reaction. Born just before the US was compelled, by events that took place 68 years ago today, to join the Second World War, my formative years were molded in that worldwide crucible of death and destruction. Yes, like so many of my generation who were mere children during that conflagration, I readily admit that it left me with scars and with definite ideas about freedom’s cost and the necessary sacrifices a nation MUST be prepared to make to preserve her freedom and liberty.

Firebombing the enemy’s cities and killing over a hundred thousand men, women, and children to break the enemy’s will to fight, was necessary, — and they did it! Dropping a nuclear bomb on an enemy city to force them to surrender was necessary, and so — they did it! Dropping a second nuclear bomb on a second enemy city, to drive home the point that we were relentless and had the will to kill as many of the Japanese and/or the Germans as was necessary to compel them to the surrender table was necessary, — and they did it.

Horrendous? Yes! Necessary? ABSOLUTELY! Did it take courage? YES! More than you or I will ever know– if we are lucky. But with current events as they are, with Islamofacists seeking the death of every American man, woman, and child, WE, YOU and I, MUST be prepared to take whatever necessary steps are called for to insure they fail. If that requires the use of nuclear weapons to completely wipe out a terrorist nest in the caves and mountains of the Middle East, then WE, YOU and I, MUST BE PREPARED TO USE THEM! I submit to you that the current leadership of the United States is NOT PREPARED to take the steps that may be necessary to insure the continuation of the freedom and the liberty those wonderful men and women of The Greatest Generation offered everything they were — and everything they ever hoped to be — to preserve for us.

My personal journey to becoming a conservative began at Pearl Harbor. My philosophy on politics had its birth on the morning of December 7th, 1941.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning in Paradise when ……… ……… ………

Around 8 AM, 68 years ago today, the Japanese swooped in, out of a brilliant blue sky over Hawaii, and bombed the port of Pearl Harbor to smithereens. Much of the muscle of our Navy was destroyed. Two thousand and four hundred US servicemen were killed.

I was seven months old.

In the next four years, as my consciousness grew, I became aware of all the activity around me. I saw soldiers in uniform. I saw my grandmother crying when the telegram came that her baby boy had been “Killed in Action” somewhere in Europe.

And finally, I remember guns being fired into the air, people running through the streets of our little South Carolina town, hugging and kissing each other. I remember folks saying: “It’s over!” And it was. But it left an indelible mark on my family and an even deeper mark on me.
Those first 4 years of my life, the formative years, were experienced under intense stress. I learned the cost of war right from the beginning stages of my life. I lost one uncle, in Belgium (the Ancestral homeland) another was machine gunned through both thighs and lay in a freezing stream in France, all night, until American troops found him the next morning. The icy water of that frozen stream saved his life. He suffered ”shell-shock” (referred to as “Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome” today) the remainder of his life. A summertime thunderstorm became an instant German artillery barrage. He would race for cover. The flashbacks were ever with him.

Others of my family were in the Pacific fighting the Japanese. They, too, came home with stories of Japanese Kamikaze planes hitting their ships and, in one case, finding a woman… yes, I said a woman, pilot in one of them! She was alive. For whatever reason, the plane with the bomb attached, did not explode.

When we could get those veterans to talk, which was not often, I was spellbound by the stories of their experience. I soaked it up like a sponge.

You see, I learned, both from personal experience, and the second hand experience of my family members, who were in the hell of the Second World War, what war really is. And, I learned that you have no choice when the enemy brings the war to your doorstep, you must fight back, and you must prevail, no matter the cost.

Today, we find ourselves in another war, which was brought to our doorstep. In doing so, the enemy killed many more people with their sneak attack than the Japanese did with their sneak attack on Pearl Harbor.

I don’t suffer fools lightly. My generation shares that quality. Today we have people in our government who are advocating a policy of retreat for the United States in our war against terrorist in the Middle East. It does not seem to matter to those folks, that an enemy, which has brought war to our shores, will not quit, and go home, just because we do. They will follow us back to our own country and continue to wage war against us here… in our land.

It makes no difference how many medals hang from a man’s uniform or suit jacket. For all the times he was right, represented by those medals, there are times when he is wrong.

Had the United States listened to the “doves” after Pearl Harbor, I would most likely be writing this missive in German rather than English. It was that serious then, and it is that serious now.
So, as we think, today, of the men and women who gave everything they had, including their lives, to insure that you and I would have a free country, let us think of the men and women serving today for the same reason.

On December 7th, 1941 the Japanese, and the Germans, wanted nothing less than the conquest of the world. Today the Islamofacists want the same thing.

You have to ask yourself… as an American… are you going to stand down, ground your weapon, and allow this evil from the deepest, darkest, depths of hell, to take your country? That is the question all Americans must ask themselves. For, understand, they will not stop with America. Once America is out of the way, the remainder of the world will fall to them as easily as dominoes.

The Men and Women (Caps Intentional) of 1941 had to ask themselves the same question.

We had better thank Almighty God they answered in the affirmative.

Today, we honor them for it. But they will tell you, those who survive to this day, that there was no real question about what the people of America would do. It was simply understood that freedom was far to precious to allow the forces of evil to take it from us. And so they marched forth to stop it and preserve this country for you and me. And they did!

We can never thank them enough. Not only did they save America, they saved the world!
Are we, as Americans, prepared to give up our freedom today after that generation gave so much of their blood to preserve it for us?

I pray to God that America will finally awaken to the danger that threatens us and take the painful steps, whatever they might be, to preserve this country, and again, the world.

Obamination: Wasting More Blood and Treasure in Afghanistan

In remarks at West Point, President Barack Hussein Obama laid out his plan for the surge in Afghanistan. As is my usual practice, I will present excerpts in block quote format interspersed with my comments.

To address these important issues, it’s important to recall why America and our allies were compelled to fight a war in Afghanistan in the first place. We did not ask for this fight. On September 11, 2001, 19 men hijacked four airplanes and used them to murder nearly 3,000 people. They struck at our military and economic nerve centers. They took the lives of innocent men, women, and children without regard to their faith or race or station. Were it not for the heroic actions of passengers onboard one of those flights, they could have also struck at one of the great symbols of our democracy in Washington, and killed many more.

In this paragraph, President Obama begins to set up his pretext, one shared by his predecessor. Any sentient American more than 17 years old must be very sheltered to be unaware of the fact that the abomination was planned by Muslims in Afghanistan. Sure, we needed to retaliate. But the next paragraph contains egregious deceptions which must be refuted in detail.

As we know, these men belonged to al Qaeda — a group of extremists who have distorted and defiled Islam, one of the world’s great religions, to justify the slaughter of innocents. Al Qaeda’s base of operations was in Afghanistan, where they were harbored by the Taliban — a ruthless, repressive and radical movement that seized control of that country after it was ravaged by years of Soviet occupation and civil war, and after the attention of America and our friends had turned elsewhere.

Al-Qaeda means “the base”, it is equivalent to Ummah al Islamiyya: the set whose members are Muslims. Taliban means “students of the Qur’an”. Those are Muslims. There is nothing special about them except the fact that they are believers who obey Allah and emulate Moe. They are normal, not exceptional. They have not “distorted and defiled Islam”. Islam remains what it was when Moe died in 632, a damnable war cult, not a religion of peace. There is nothing great about Islam. It conquered half the known world. Is that greatness? In the process, it murdered 270 million, what is great about that? Great slaughter, is desired by Allah, Islam’s demon, who established it as a prerequisite for releasing hostages for ransom. That is genocide; if genocide defines greatness, then morality has been inverted.

Islam does not recognize “innocents” outside Ummah al;-Islamiyya. Only Muslims can be innocent, all others are rebels against Allah, who must be defeated and gathered together into Hell. Jihad against disbelievers is not an optional extra added by extremists; it is not bida, it is standard Islamic doctrine laid down in Surah Al-Anfal & Surah At-Taubah. 8:39 contains Allah’s command to fight pagans until all resistance ceases and only Allah is worshiped on a global scale. 9:29 contains Allah’s command to fight Jews, Christians & Zoroastrians until they are subjugated and extorted. Moe confirmed the command to Jihad, which continues until the last day. Islamic law requires a minimum of one military expedition against kufar in every year, failing only when there is insufficient strength. Doubters & dissenters should open Reliance of the Traveller to O9.0 and continue reading through O9.9. O9.1 is explicit about the communal obligation to attack disbelievers in their own countries in every year. O9.8 & 9.9 reveal what the caliph does as a regular practice, aggressively, not defensively: he makes war upon Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians until they become Muslims or pay extortion, he fights all other people until they become Muslim or dead. How is it possible that a religion has such a law in its canon?

America, our allies and the world were acting as one to destroy al Qaeda’s terrorist network and to protect our common security.

The terrorist network is Islam. It consists of every Mosque, Madrassa & Muslim wheresoever dispersed over the face of the earth. Destroying al-Qaeda is not possible without destroying Islam! No effort is being made to accomplish that necessary objective. Both President G.W. Bush and President Obama deny the fact that Islam is at war against us. Our elected leaders will not acknowledge the fact that Islam is intrinsically inimical to life, liberty & representative government.

Under the banner of this domestic unity and international legitimacy — and only after the Taliban refused to turn over Osama bin Laden — we sent our troops into Afghanistan. Within a matter of months, al Qaeda was scattered and many of its operatives were killed. The Taliban was driven from power and pushed back on its heels. A place that had known decades of fear now had reason to hope. At a conference convened by the U.N., a provisional government was established under President Hamid Karzai. And an International Security Assistance Force was established to help bring a lasting peace to a war-torn country.

You can not scatter what is dispersed globally: Islam. President Bush lacked the courage to attack Tora Bora with sufficient force to eliminate bin Laden. Even eliminating him would not end the Jihad.

Neither were Taliban driven from power. Taliban are only Muslims who study the Qur’an. Afghanistan’s new constitution makes the Qur’an the source of its law. Umdat as-Salik O9.8, which requires warfare against us, is part of Afghanistan’s law. This nation and the world are being misled by morons and traitors. It is not possible to bring peace to a nation whose culture is war. The only peace Afghanistan can have is the peace of the grave, when the graveyard is full and the surface is empty.

Today, after extraordinary costs, we are bringing the Iraq war to a responsible end. We will remove our combat brigades from Iraq by the end of next summer, and all of our troops by the end of 2011. That we are doing so is a testament to the character of the men and women in uniform.

There is no responsible end to the war in Iraq while it remains populated by Muslims, our sworn enemies. When our troops leave, Iraq will revert to war between Shiia & Sunni, when that warfare ends, it will resume status quo ante as a sponsor of terrorism. No other outcome is possible while its population remains Islamic. The pull out on a set timetable is a testimony to the stupidity and treachery of our elected leaders.

But while we’ve achieved hard-earned milestones in Iraq, the situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated. After escaping across the border into Pakistan in 2001 and 2002, al Qaeda’s leadership established a safe haven there. Although a legitimate government was elected by the Afghan people, it’s been hampered by corruption, the drug trade, an under-developed economy, and insufficient security forces.

No legitimate government can be composed of Muslims! Islam requires theocracy, one man rule by the Qur’an, not man made legislation. While Afghanistan remains Islamic and tribal, it will be corrupt and violent, neither well governed, peaceful nor stable. The problems listed by President Obama are not members of the set of soluble problems. Even if they could be solved, Afghanistan would revert to status quo ante: a state sponsor of terrorism.

I set a goal that was narrowly defined as disrupting, dismantling, and defeating al Qaeda and its extremist allies, and pledged to better coordinate our military and civilian efforts.

The “extremist allies” are every Muslim on the face of the earth. Will you kill them all? Will you convert them to a peaceful religion? No, you will do neither, and the terrorism will continue because you are a cowardly fool.

And our forces lack the full support they need to effectively train and partner with Afghan security forces and better secure the population.

“Afghan security forces” is an oxymoron. Those forces are composed of Muslims. Muslims are warriors, not security forces. To Muslims, peace is the condition of the world after they have completed their conquest of it. No matter how much you train them, they will shoot you in the back when given the opportunity, and they will betray your plans to the mujihideen.

I owe you a mission that is clearly defined, and worthy of your service. And that’s why, after the Afghan voting was completed, I insisted on a thorough review of our strategy.

Any strategy that leaves live Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq is a total waste of blood and treasure, a fool’s errand of the worst sort. No good outcome is possible.

After 18 months, our troops will begin to come home. These are the resources that we need to seize the initiative, while building the Afghan capacity that can allow for a responsible transition of our forces out of Afghanistan.

When will our forces leave Bosnia? When will our forces leave Germany? When will our forces leave Japan? You have presented our enemy with a time line telling them how long they must wait before they can seize power and restore the status quo ante. I call it treason.

I do not make this decision lightly. I opposed the war in Iraq precisely because I believe that we must exercise restraint in the use of military force, and always consider the long-term consequences of our actions.

How do you win a war with restraint? How do you win a war without identifying and killing the enemy? What are the long term consequences of allowing Islam to continue to exist on the face of the earth, accruing nuclear, chemical and biological weapons which it will not long hesitate to use? What were the consequences of ignoring Hitler’s military buildup, substituting appeasement for preemption?

Most of all, I know that this decision asks even more of you — a military that, along with your families, has already borne the heaviest of all burdens.

You are asking them to die for a lie. You are sending them to defeat, wasting their blood and the taxpayer’s treasure.

If I did not think that the security of the United States and the safety of the American people were at stake in Afghanistan, I would gladly order every single one of our troops home tomorrow.

Our security is at stake wherever Islam exists; wherever Zakat is collected and sent to Hamas, Hizbollah & al-Qaeda; wherever Muslim satrapies are stockpiling missiles and rushing to construct nuclear warheads.

So, no, I do not make this decision lightly. I make this decision because I am convinced that our security is at stake in Afghanistan and Pakistan. This is the epicenter of violent extremism practiced by al Qaeda. It is from here that we were attacked on 9/11, and it is from here that new attacks are being plotted as I speak. This is no idle danger; no hypothetical threat. In the last few months alone, we have apprehended extremists within our borders who were sent here from the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan to commit new acts of terror. And this danger will only grow if the region slides backwards, and al Qaeda can operate with impunity. We must keep the pressure on al Qaeda, and to do that, we must increase the stability and capacity of our partners in the region.

Strike al-Qaeda, insert Islam. The danger will grow no matter what, unless you eliminate Islam from the region. Then, the danger will come from another region where Allah’s writ runs and his slaves reside.

No Muslim is our partner! Muslims who claim to be our partners are practicing al-taqeyya and kitman; they are deceiving you. Allah explicitly forbids Muslims to be friends or partners of kuffar. Muslims must be in a dominant, not equal or subordinate relationship with kuffar.

To meet that goal, we will pursue the following objectives within Afghanistan. We must deny al Qaeda a safe haven. We must reverse the Taliban’s momentum and deny it the ability to overthrow the government. And we must strengthen the capacity of Afghanistan’s security forces and government so that they can take lead responsibility for Afghanistan’s future.

Islam has bases in Iran, Syria & Lebanon. There are Islamic bases and training camps right here in America. What will you do about them? You say “al-Qaeda” when the correct word is Islam. Why can’t you name the enemy? How do you hope to defeat an enemy you can not identify? Weak or strong, Afghanistan’s government, like that of Pakistan, is in the hands of Muslims, our enemies. In the end, they will attack us and our allies. There is no benefit in strengthening them.

We will meet these objectives in three ways. First, we will pursue a military strategy that will break the Taliban’s momentum and increase Afghanistan’s capacity over the next 18 months.

To win, you must seize and hold territory 24/7/365. You must kill enemy combatants. No more catch and release. You must deny sanctuary, both in Pakistan and Afghanistan. You must deny human shields. Your rules of engagement are costing our soldiers their lives. The word is treason. Like Lindon Johnson, you are murdering our service members for political gain. More troops is not a strategy, it is feeding the meat grinder, filling coffins.

They’ll increase our ability to train competent Afghan security forces, and to partner with them so that more Afghans can get into the fight. And they will help create the conditions for the United States to transfer responsibility to the Afghans.

Afghans are the enemy, idiot. They are not our allies nor partners, they are Muslims. You are training them to fight against us, just like Arafat’s “security forces”.

We will support efforts by the Afghan government to open the door to those Taliban who abandon violence and respect the human rights of their fellow citizens.

.Stupid statements like that make my blood boil! Muslims do not abandon violence without abandoning Islam! Muslims do not respect human rights! They never did and never will!! Allah does not, Moe did not and they will not. Being a Muslim, President Obama knows that. There is only one possibility: treason.

We’re in Afghanistan to prevent a cancer from once again spreading through that country. But this same cancer has also taken root in the border region of Pakistan. That’s why we need a strategy that works on both sides of the border.

Strike cancer, insert Islam. Otherwise the statement must remain false. No strategy can work unless it causes Islam to be eliminated from Afghanistan and Pakistan. Any outcome that leaves them Islamic is a defeat.

And there is no doubt that the United States and Pakistan share a common enemy.

Islam is the enemy of all mankind. Pakistan is our enemy. Is Obama too stupid to comprehend objective factual reality or a traitor. I don’t believe its stupidity.

Moving forward, we are committed to a partnership with Pakistan that is built on a foundation of mutual interest, mutual respect, and mutual trust. We will strengthen Pakistan’s capacity to target those groups that threaten our countries, and have made it clear that we cannot tolerate a safe haven for terrorists whose location is known and whose intentions are clear.

Imbecility, maundery & treachery; what a combination! We have no mutual interest with Muslims. They do not respect us. We can not trust them. They support those groups, they do not combat them. Pakistan was, is now and will continue to be a safe haven for terrorists. Muslim and terrorist are synonymous terms.

To abandon this area now — and to rely only on efforts against al Qaeda from a distance — would significantly hamper our ability to keep the pressure on al Qaeda, and create an unacceptable risk of additional attacks on our homeland and our allies.

A single drop of truth in a river of lies. It stands out like a carp swimming upstream in a sewer.

Second, there are those who acknowledge that we can’t leave Afghanistan in its current state, but suggest that we go forward with the troops that we already have. But this would simply maintain a status quo in which we muddle through, and permit a slow deterioration of conditions there. It would ultimately prove more costly and prolong our stay in Afghanistan, because we would never be able to generate the conditions needed to train Afghan security forces and give them the space to take over.

The same is true of Obama’s strategy.

Now, let me be clear: None of this will be easy. The struggle against violent extremism will not be finished quickly, and it extends well beyond Afghanistan and Pakistan. It will be an enduring test of our free society, and our leadership in the world. And unlike the great power conflicts and clear lines of division that defined the 20th century, our effort will involve disorderly regions, failed states, diffuse enemies.

Shrub failed the test. Obamination is failing the test. We need leaders who can measure up, men like Churchill, McArthur & Truman.

We will have to take away the tools of mass destruction. And that’s why I’ve made it a central pillar of my foreign policy to secure loose nuclear materials from terrorists, to stop the spread of nuclear weapons, and to pursue the goal of a world without them — because every nation must understand that true security will never come from an endless race for ever more destructive weapons; true security will come for those who reject them.

Nukes are in the world. There is no possibility of ensuring that our enemies have eliminated their inventories and won’t make more. The dream of a nuke free world is impossible. Continuing to harbor it is evidence of insanity, or is it treason?
Like Shrub, Obamination refuses to identify and accurately describe the enemy. He falsely ascribes to the enemy objectives that it does not have. He falsely characterizes our relationship with certain enemy powers as an alliance or partnership. He postulates a non-existent dichotomy between the enemy, which he calls a partner, and a subset of the enemy, which he mislabels as the enemy. Obamination’s strategy is a house of cards founded on a lie. It can not stand in the storm of reality.

History will be made as the world’s only super power, led by a socialist President and a socialist controlled Congress, feed our soldiers into a meat-grinder in order to turn public opinion against the war. As soon as a sufficient percentage of Americans declare their distaste for the war in Afghanistan, Obama will declare the war cannot be won – thus — creating an excuse to bring US troops home from Afghanistan in defeat and disgrace.

So far, Obama has rejected every single option placed before him by the military.

Think about this for a moment: Obama knows absolutely nothing about the military. He knows absolutely nothing about military tactics. If it were not for a dictionary Obama would not know what the word “counterinsurgency” means! And yet, he is the Commander-in-Chief of the most powerful military the world has even seen. How much sense does THAT make to YOU?

I have advocated, for many years, that Americans desperately need to amend the US Constitution to provide a mandatory requirement that anyone presenting himself or herself as a candidate for President must be a military veteran. The American President is the Commander-in-Chief of all US Armed Forces. He/she ought to be a veteran. They ought to have served their country in the military they will be commanding. The Military, itself, would have far greater respect for a Commander-in-Chief who actually has military experience.

Looking at Afghanistan today it is fairly easy to see what is about to happen there, barring some unforeseen event. The “Vietnam Syndrome” has already set in among the troops in theatre. Look, Obama may fool some of the people, (actually he is fooling a LOT of the people) but he is NOT, I repeat, NOT fooling the military!

“American Warriors” know beyond any doubt, whatsoever, that when they find themselves in a tight spot — a call for reinforcements will be answered immediately. Usually more reinforcements are sent than were requested.

The current Commander-in-Chief received a call for 40,000 troops to reinforce the brave American warriors in Afghanistan as far back as August of 2009. It is mid November. Those reinforcements have NOT BEEN SENT as of this writing! There is no excuse, none, sufficient to excuse this lack of action on the part of the Commander-in-Chief and his Administration. We are seeing frequent reports now of low moral among American troops in Afghanistan —and why not? They are being used as “cannon fodder” while the President appears to be searching for some political goal he can announce as an acceptable “Victory in Afghanistan.” My guess is – it will have nothing to do with actually defeating the Taliban.

In other words, dear reader, Obama is playing politics with the lives of our military men and women in Afghanistan. I know of no other way to state the obvious.

Look, every military veteran will tell you that when combat troops, on the ground call for reinforcements — you send them. To not send those reinforcements risks a “Broken Arrow” incident in which US troops are over-run by enemy forces. When a “Broken Arrow” call goes out, from a US commander on the ground, all US combat aircraft go immediately to those coordinates and begin bombing the hell out of the enemy. All US artillery within range begins lobbing salvo after salvo of artillery shells onto the enemy, which, until moments ago, was set to overrun and wipe out the US forces on the ground.

Looking at Afghanistan today, we see a resurgence of the Taliban. They are re-supplied and reinvigorated by their backers, quite likely another Middle Eastern country at odds with the US, and, most likely, old, more traditional enemies of the US — Iran and Russia. There is no doubt that US troops are fatigued and as we said above, there are reports they are demoralized. The military brass admits they expect more suicides among US soldiers in the coming year. Sound familiar? Veterans of the Vietnam Era have seen and heard all this before.

Liberal/socialists, such as Obama, do not understand the military. They do not understand military power and they surely do not understand the application of that power. They tend to look at the military as a pawn to be used in an international game of political chess.

Most of the liberals I come in contact with detest the military. You can see it, most vividly in our liberal politicians in Washington. The military is prepared to get its hands dirty in the defense of freedom. Liberal politicians are not. They will remain in their sanitized congressional offices and refer to the political debates, they so love, as “fighting” — as in: “ Senator “so-and-so” is “fighting” for you. You’ve heard it. You know exactly what I mean.

Afghanistan is now Obama’s War. He has claimed it — or it has claimed him. For better, or worse, it is now Obama’s War. Blaming George Bush is no longer an option. Obama must accept the blame for the deaths of our military men and women in Afghanistan since he took office.

Commanding troops in a “shooting war” takes guts and skill. So far, the American people, more importantly our American warriors, have not seen an obvious display of either.
