Government feeders fear the zero like nothing else. Better to cut the budget 95 percent. Then, like the German Army after WWI, it could survive with a skeleton staff, until the return of tax–and–spend Democrats puts new taxpayer–funded flesh on those patiently waiting bones.
One thing is certain: Hispanics aren’t shy about lecturing the US on how to improve the illegal immigrant experience. Just this week Colombian fanny–shaker Shakira was in the White House to discuss “child development programs in Latin America. But she’s behind the curve. We already have a program for that. It’s called “anchor babies.”
Currently Virginia is the 24th state to offer a “Choose Life” plate. Since 2000, 520,000 of the plates have been sold nationwide, generating $11 million for pro–life crisis pregnancy centers, adoption services and maternity homes. A mere four states offer a “Choose Death” plate and in Pennsylvania, one of the four, there are only 22 active plates.
Blizzards were formerly a one–per–customer situation in the DC area where I live. Now it’s come to a pretty pass when we can’t keep track of our snow events. By my count we are on climate event number four, so it seems premature to commit to the Blizzard of 2010 before the winter is truly over.

Steroids should be right up there with the Protestant Ethic as a key part of the American Way. Steroids simply permit an athlete to train harder and subsequently recover faster. Steroids are not the lazy man’s way to the medal platform. An athlete who takes steroids but does not increase his training workload enjoys no benefit.
If you have ever wondered just how long the average New Year’s resolution lasts, I invite you to take a census at your neighborhood gym at 6 p.m. on the first Monday of January and then repeat the count on the last weekday of February. Virginia Governor and Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine celebrated the successful mulching of another dead horse last week. After presiding over the loss of the governor’s races in his own state and New Jersey, he celebrated the major accomplishment of his last year in office: banning smoking in restaurants.
In “elite opinion” circles a black person is allowed to indulge in many varieties of degraded behavior and exhibit any number of dangerous pathologies without causing so much as a raised eyebrow, but nothing keeps elite festival–attendee behinds in the seats like the hero relying on white people, the private sector or a Christian to change his life.
Maybe the big thinkers at Indoctrination Control were hoping parents would change their collective mind and decide a school with uniforms, expectations, community service and discipline was a bad idea after all and embrace more “progressive” educational theory like “white guilt.”
Islam is the last topic authorities discuss when it comes to Sudden Jihad Syndrome incidents. The standard line is it was a “lone gunman,” “isolated incident,” “random act of violence” that was perpetrated by a “troubled individual,” who was “under stress,” “harassed” or otherwise forced to “snap,” “act out” or “explode.”
In another example of Obama Administration acumen the Dems managed to lose New Jersey, too! Of course the Washington Post assures us there’s nothing to see here, in fact one headline reads “No Referendum on Obama,” but in both states voters who in fact used the election as a referendum on Obama voted against him.
So here you have it, a dry run for the Obama Administration’s performance on nationalized health care. All vast governmental forces were focused on a single disease rather than the entire gamut of America’s health care problems. There was no greedy, profit–riddled private sector in this fight, only the saintly public option. The result?
Inflation is an overall increase in the price level. It’s like economic Viagra that expands the economy but only provides very localized benefits to a favored few. If inflation only lasted four hours — regardless of whether or not your doctor was celebrating with you — then it would not be so dangerous.
Golf certainly isn’t like shooting dice. Now there’s a sport of the people. All that’s required is a liquor store, a few handguns and a pair of dice. No vast acreage that could be used for “affordable housing.” No goofy little electric carts that reek of martinis and high cholesterol. And certainly, no annual use of enough fertilizer to level downtown Oklahoma City again.
The environmentalists even have their own Pharisees like Al Gore and Thomas Friedman who enjoy a huge carbon footprint lifestyle and justify their hypocrisy by buying “carbon offsets.” This is a scam where wealthy first–world greens pay poverty–stricken third–world helots to squat in their mud huts postponing modern civilization.
Within this Obama non–issue is a chance for a win–win decision that helps both Mexico and the U. S. How about we take steps to stop the flow of illegal guns southward — which really represent only 17 percent of the recovered drug trade weapons — and in return Mexico takes steps to stop the flow of illegal Mexicans northward, who represent 32 percent of the illegal aliens in our country?
