A Republic… IF We Can Keep It!

Months ago, as I began to write about the dangers of socialism to America, (and how the Democratic Party has become a sort of Democratic/Socialist party) I was stunned when they, the democrats, did not refute it! I Miss America, Already!

Near the top of my list of things we Americans have lost is PRIDE. Pride at being an American. Pride that was earned – that was paid for by the men and women who went before me into the jaws of hell and back to free a people in a country the name of which some of them could not even pronounce. Coming Soon: Illegal Cigarettes at a Bootlegger Near You!

My office is only a few doors from the former office of one of the largest and most successful cigarette bootleggers in the south – back a few decades ago when southerners were running bootleg cigarettes up north by the tractor trailer loads because of the outlandish taxes states like New York were placing on tobacco products. I reside in the state that produced more tobacco than any other state in the United States. So, I do know a little something about it. Read more »

A government run health Insurance company would be exactly the tool needed to shutter private insurance companies in America and drive currently insured Americans into the arms of the government owned company while at the same time demonstrating the “need” for a universal healthcare system even though the “need” was created by the government itself. Target: America!

If the government were serious about the defense of this country, which is their very first obligation as leaders, then, the US “standing Army” would be doubled. Our Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corp need to be doubled in strength… and as quickly as possible. If that means reinstitution of the draft… then so be it. When the next war comes, it won’t be fought from 15,000 feet with smart bombs. It will be a slugfest in the air, on the sea, and on the land. It will not be contained in the Middle East. The continental US will be hit. We can count on it! Missiles launched from ships, lying off shore in international waters, can burst through our radar defenses, and hit targets before we can react to stop them. Read more »

America’s Atmosphere of Fear, Guilt, and Restraint

America, today, is still reeling from the current recession, which is all but over, and trying desperately to prepare for the next huge recession/depression, which is just around the corner. There is little reason to feel any of that HOPE Obama preached about during his campaign for the presidency. Oh, we got the “change” all right. Yep! Everything changed for the worst. Boss Obama Driving Americans Onto The Government Plantation

Obama’s Politburo…

In the bad ole days of the Soviet Union, it was ruled by the Politburo. The Politburo functioned as the central policymaking and governing body of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. The body was made up of the top members of the Central Committee. In theory, it acted as the political bureau (hence Politburo) of the Central Committee, elected by them to direct the Party between the sessions of the committee and with a mandate that only covered the Party. The Politburo was responsible to, and its membership was subject to, the approval of the Central Committee. Read more »

In an AP article entitled: “Administration seeks ways to tame corporate pay”, Jim Kuhnhenn writes: “Talking tough but stepping gently, the Obama administration rejected direct intervention in corporate pay decisions Wednesday even as officials argued that excessive compensation in the private sector contributed to the nation’s financial crisis.Instead, the administration plans to seek legislation that would try to tame compensation through shareholder pressure and less management influence on pay decisions.” Read more »

Over the weekend, David Axelrod, a senior White House Adviser, said that President Obama would soon push for a health-care reform plan. Axelrod said the President’s plan would call for the creation of a government-owned health-care company. He went on to predict that Congress would pass such a plan by the end of the summer. A Sign of Weakness

It worries me that our liberal friends seem, somehow, to think that showing one’s fangs to an enemy is distasteful but cannot grasp how rolling over onto one’s back and presenting one’s soft underbelly can be construed as a definite show of weakness and servility. America Lost?

Eventually we will have to become two countries… or go to war with each other. The last Civil War didn’t begin overnight. As far back as the 1820’s the country was in a similar spot as we find ourselves today. (Frighteningly similar.) Neither side was interested in settling it through negotiation. Small Cars Can Kill You!

Common sense, which is certainly not common anymore, says small cars will get more people killed on the American highways. The Flower Children in our government had much rather save the environment (which, by the way, is in no danger from mankind) than save the lives of fellow human beings. How much sense does that make? None. But it doesn’t have to make sense if it makes you feel good. Keep that in mind when dealing with our Hippie Government and it will help you understand what is going on in Washington these days. My old Pappy used to say that the persecution of the early Christian Church was the greatest thing to happen to the church since the Resurrection. It forced the church to spread through out the modern world of that era. Does the US have a REAL President – or Not?

The question that really troubles many of us is why the President doesn’t just present the evidence that he is a natural born American citizen and put it all to rest? It seems so simple. Yet, reports have it that the President has legal teams, all over the country, fighting all attempts by citizens to get to the bottom of what could turn out to be a constitutional crisis for the country. Some reports say that huge sums of money have been spent, already, just to stop the release of that birth certificate from the state of Hawaii. Will Obama End “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell?”

The US military has had the “Don ‘t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy for homosexuals in the military in place since 1993. Under the terms of that policy homosexuals could serve in the US military as long as they kept quiet about their sexual orientation and didn’t go public with it, by admitting it, or openly taking part in homosexual activity. America NEEDS a Third Party… NOW!

It is correct, I believe that a conservative party will not elect anyone to the Congress or to the White house for a few years, maybe a couple of decades, even, but, here’s the thing, as I see it. As a stand-alone party, we will take a huge chunk of the numbers from the GOP… and a few from the dems. So, when there is a major push on by one party, or the other, to pass a piece of legislation, they are going to need our support to get it done. WANTED: One Female, Minority, Socialist

No matter that the Constitution, as written, is, in fact, easily understood. The men who wrestled over the original wording of that document made every effort to make it easily understood. That was an important, if not THE MOST important, part of their mission. And they completed it beautifully. So far, no other country has been able to duplicate it in its simplicity and its beauty. The UN is demanding that their rules and regs take precedence over the US Constitution.
