Evolutionists More Insistent Than Ever About Being A Monkey’s Uncle

One wrench that use to be tossed into Darwinism’s mechanistic view of the universe was the raising of the issue of what supposedly happened to all of those transitional forms. Even Darwin himself is alleged to have relented that his theory would ultimately be proven or discarded on the basis of such geological evidence. For […]

Should Protestants Be Allowed To Have An Opinion Regarding The New Pope?

It has been suggested that it is a tragedy for Evangelicals to pray and fast regarding the new pope as called for by Rick Warren. While it might not be an issue worthy of fasting over as it doesn’t look like most of the top contenders to the papal throne have themselves missed too many […]

Woodsy On The Rampage: The Ecology Of Radical Environmentalism

In this era of hyperterrorism where every Tom, Dick, and Abdul with a grudge against society because of a rotten childhood blows up a bus or shoots up a post office, many are not too concerned about the activities of other outcasts striving to save the spotted owl or kangaroo rat with methods outside accepted […]

Headline Potpourri #29: Geraldo Republican, Occupy Comics & Rubio’s Sip

Geraldo announced on The O’Reilly Factor that he is a Republican ahead of his possible announcement to run for a U.S. Senate seat in New Jersey.  I wonder how long he has held that conviction.  These are the kinds of milksop candidates you are going to end up with when ethnicity is placed before ideology. […]

Despising The Old Rugged Cross

In one classic science fiction plot, antagonists attempt to gain control of the future by attempting to alter the past.  Though it might not be as exciting as a Dalorian speeding at 88 miles per hour, maniacal forces in our own reality are attempting to accomplish nearly the same thing by drastically reconceptualizing our understanding […]

Anti-Nativity Scrooges Selective In What Gods They Toss Out Into The Cold

| December 22, 2012 | 0 Comments

For decades, Santa Monica churches erected nativity scenes on municipal park land there in celebration of the Christmas season.  However, the onward march to abolish the assorted foundations upon which America was built continues unabated and is now even seeming to accelerate as evidenced by increasing numbers of the able bodied voting for demagogues promising […]

Concerning The Existence Of God

Upon leaving the confines of the Earth’s atmosphere and entering the vastness of space, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin is alleged to have remarked, “Where is God?”  This was said out of a sense of mockery that the Lord of the universe could not be found in the final frontier rather than an honest inquiry from […]

Car Free Day Foreshadows Vehicular Tyranny

| October 24, 2012 | 0 Comments

Often in their attempt to engineer our lives whether we want them to or not, contemporary liberals have a tendency to hand down any number of psychosocial laws or principles since most of them view us as little more than animals to herd into a corral.  It seems that their behavior is often just as […]

Worldview Chronicle: #7 Quips & Observations

| October 4, 2012 | 0 Comments

A Maryland county is enacting a law that would equip school buses with cameras to document motorists violating assorted traffic laws in the vicinity of these educational transport vehicles.  All well and good.  But will there also be cameras recording these public servants driving like bats out of Ghenna? Shouldn’t one’s respect for the Constitution […]

Will Security Goons Now Harass As You Disembark?

It sounds like a ludicrous claim.  But the 80’s cartoon G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero might just be the Rosetta Stone to understanding early 21st century culture and politics. In the series, the troops of the terrorist organization determined to take over the world are referred to as “vipers”. It seems those using that […]

An Analysis Of Francis Schaeffer’s “The Church At The End Of The 20th Century”

| August 28, 2012 | 18 Comments

Francis Schaeffer has been characterized as an Elijah to the late twentieth century.  Though not as inspired in the same direct sense as his Biblical forebears, Francis Schaeffer did articulate a vision of the future remarkable in its accuracy and a message startling in its relevancy.  Schaeffer was able to accomplish this by extrapolating from […]

Thoughts Concerning The Avengers

The Avengers was a good film. However, it was not the greatest superhero movie of all time as has been suggested. And believe me, I have seen some superhero movies. Not much thought went into Hawkeye’s costume. It hardly resembled his ensemble from the comics. The aliens were less than impressive and, along with the […]

Those Ashamed Of America Shouldn’t Make A Penny Off The Name

Though at one time barely considered worthy of the appellation of literature, scholars of popular culture have today established the thesis that comic books and other forms of media expression derived from these illustrated periodicals serve as a snapshot of the perspectives and assumptions prevalent at particular points in American history Certain characters and series […]

Headline Potpourri 23: Cylon Sinks, Teabow’s Core, Downhill 33

Religious leftists will no doubt work themselves up into an outrage that most Southerners still don’t cotton up to the notion of interracial marriage. It is claimed there is nothing in Scripture forbidding the individual from believing in interracial marriage. But neither is there anything in the Bible saying that you are required to believe in it.

Some Mormons Less Cultic Than Others?

Some Mormons Less Cultic Than Others?

mormonsFor obvious and justifiable reasons, a number of Evangelical leaders often cast a suspicious gaze at Mormon figures in American public life.  After all, though the two systems of belief share a similar vocabulary at certain points and often both hold to traditionalist assumptions regarding social morality, these perspectives differ considerably regarding the nature of God as well as the origins and destiny of man.
