No Quick Fixes
By Larry Miller

A lot of people are sitting around waiting for the election of Bob McDonnell in Virginia and Chris Christie in New Jersey, believing it will give Barack Hussein Obama his comeuppance and break the momentum of his rush to socialism. Important steps, yes, but just a start. A beginning of the long journey back to normalcy for our nation.
It will be encouraging and help us keep things going. As a victory by Doug Hoffman would help restore the voters to the head of the Republican Party… something many in official positions have been fighting tooth and nail for the last several years. Good things can happen, but we can’t expect a few steps to take us the entire distance and let us get back to our own little worlds.
We have devious and determined foes who will bob and weave like a like a boxer giving, then taking back… blocking punches and landing a few. We are in a fight that will not be won on points. We need to go for a knock out because as long as the statists are upright and mobile, they will pose a threat to the good people of America and the world. These people are patient and will take what they can get without taking their eyes off their long term prize… control of our country.
It is in the nature of conservatives and libertarians to mind our own business and it is the nature of statists to also mind our own business. If we are to get back to a time when we can follow our inclinations, we must keep a watchful eye on those who would be our masters. Sure it makes me angry that these people want to intrude on our lives and we must take time from our pursuits to block their punches and power grabs. We just have to get through our heads what abolitionist Wendell Phillips said, “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.”
While it is good to sprint at times to achieve specific specific goals… like defeating Obama allies at the polls, we need to adopt the mindset of a marathon runner. Our opponents are long term thinkers and will back off at times… temporarily… just until we’ve been distracted by whatever is on our large screen TV. The TV is our entertainment, theirs is gaining power over the rest of us.
So other than my friends in Virginia, New Jersey and New York’s 23rd Congressional District, pace yourselves, do all you can, but please don’t burn out… there is too much to do and we need to all hang together. For those going to the polls, sprint to the end and bring as many freedom loving voters with you as you can. We have a tremendous opportunity to push back the darkness of government intrusion and strike a blow for freedom. Our grandchildren will thank us.

I know when I watch pro-life conservatives scream about who should get married and what people should do with their bodies and how they’ll burn in hell for not believing as they do… the first thing I think is.. "Wow, now there is a person who’s nature is to mind their own business".
