The Toyota Prius Flower People Are Going to Attack
I would go as far to saying it’s the new Coke commercial–the ‘I would like to buy the world a Coke’ commercial for the millennial generation. From the moment I hear the first note and then watch the people jump up and down pretending they are grass, the sun, water, flowers, and trees I cringe. Then I laugh as I hear dumb, dumb, da, dumb, dumb in a hypnotic rhythm thinking the joke is on those who actually buy into Al Gore’s misguided rhetoric which allows him a lavish life with a huge carbon footprint. Then I am quickly delivered back into fear as I realize I may never be allowed to buy a powerful V-8 engine again after Obama’s finished. I don’t want to drive a dumb, dumb, da, dumb, dumb Prius.
The new Toyota Prius commercial is the new Coke commercial. I have to admit I am a little creeped out by the new-age dances of the flower people as their hands lift upwards above each other’s petal heads, a sign of evil and death in the Indian world. They have faces, but you don’t see them up close which I find even creepier. I expect the road to suddenly turn into yellow bricks. It never does.
It’s harmony between man, nature, and machine–yet I get more creeped out every time I see it. It’s not harmony. It’s like a bad nightmare. I know the flower people are going to grow thorns and attack me in my sleep. Yes, I worry about this. This is the evil of liberalism. The intentions are always good, but there’s a thorny side which makes you bleed. Our country bleeds currently from liberalism and flower people dancing in the field as a Toyota hybrid drives by is brainwashing people into believing their Prius purchase puts them in touch with nature is just wrong. It furthers the bleeding.
In nature there are thorns. In liberalism there are thorns. Be prepared to bleed to death from these thorns.
