When it comes to attacking climate scientists, the alarmist Left has the market cornered. Left-leaning environmentalists, media and academics have long railed against the alleged conservative “war on science.” They augment this vitriol with substantial money, books, documentaries and conference sessions devoted to “protecting” global warming alarmists from supposed “harassment” by climate chaos skeptics, whom […]

Andrew L. Jaffee recently wrote about Russia’s troubling relationship with their past, specifically with the mass-murderer Josef Stalin. In this article, the BBC reports that Stalin came in third in a national search in Russia to find the greatest Russian. Apparently, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is engaging in some historical revisionism, trying to justify Stalin as someone to be admired, rather than a monster to be ashamed of.
Is a one-world government inevitable? It certainly looks that way! At least it does if you buy into the theory of how good a one-world government would be for the world. I do not. Let me be clear about this: I hate the very thought of a one-world government! Period! I rather like being an American.
Let’s just get it out of the way quickly. Obama’s stimulus package is a Halloween costume disguising a rapidly growing government. It’s probably the scariest thing I have seen come out Washington in my lifetime. Even Chris Matthew’s is smart enough to know the only tingles in this plan are for socialists.
Obama’s stimulus package, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Bill of 2009, breaks down as follows:
Liberals are liberals first. Am I being polemical? Yes, to a degree, but I am not being personal. I’m not contending that all liberals are crazy, but I will say, along with Dr. Savage and Dr. Rossiter, that a logical, legal and medical case can be made that liberalism (i.e., socialism, progressivism, egalitarianism) is not a rational political belief system.
“The Obama” is off and running. His sharp left turn, which was predicted by conservative writers, commentators and pundits, is now apparent for all to see. But, by far the DUMBEST thing, in my estimation, he has done to date, is ordering the Department of Transportation to develop higher fuel efficiency standards for cars. Car efficiency standards are already creaming the US carmakers while, those same car makers are getting a government bailout at the same time. Does that seem the least bit off-kilter to you? Well, it does to me! Is this DUMB, or what?
I had just finished a late lunch and the diner was clearing out.
“Hello, there.” The voice was soft and distant, but clearly addressed me. Looking up, I saw a well-groomed, elderly gentleman.
As I searched my mind, wondering if should know the man, he said in a matter-of-fact way: “I’m not from here.”
Not knowing quite what to say, I just nodded.
“I happened to notice that you are reading The Wall Street Journal.”
“Yes, it comes to my office.”
On January 20, 2009, a coronation took place. It was the most expensive inauguration in American history. Barack Hussein Obama was sworn in as America’s 44th President. The pageantry far exceeded this man’s stature.
It has been said that “Tolerance is a crime when applied to evil” (Thomas Mann). Do not pray for President Obama’s policies to succeed. Good Christians should not pray for evil to prevail. Those sentiments are contrary to God’s word. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).
If this isn’t the beginning of a depression, it sure feels like one. Just check the daily headlines. On Monday, the Financial Times informed readers that “Gloom deepens as 75,000 global jobs go.” Among the companies laying off people were Caterpillar, General Motors, Sprint Nextel, Home Depot, Pfizer, and Texas Instruments. My guess is the General Motors declares bankruptcy by March.
It snowed over the weekend… in the desert! To be more exact… in the UAE! As the headlines indicate it doesn’t do that often. As a matter of fact it has only done that one other time since man has been recording history. We think this is just one more indication that we have been correct in declaring that the earth is on the cusp of a re-freeze, another ice age… not a planet wide warm-up or “Climate Change” as the adherents to the gospel of “Global Warming” have taken to calling it (since so much of what they have declared has been debunked and more debunking is happening every day).
Some are saying Obama is risking a new culture war between the “Obamaniacs” and American conservatives. We are here to declare there is no risk involved. The so-called “culture war” has hardly taken a breath. Conservatives graciously allowed the left to have their love-in and group hug after the election and during the inauguration, and were content to allow Mr. Obama a honeymoon. That “truce” is now over.
I began 2009 praising carbon dioxide as the gas, along with oxygen, upon which all life on Earth depends.
Now I praise coal and for reasons the mainstream press and other media will studiously avoid telling you. Coal, as you may recall, is on the Obama hit list because its use, according to the environmental loonies, will doom the Earth to a global warming that is not happening.
It’s become cliche. Rock ‘n’ roll stars, past their prime, look for controversy to gain press. In 2005, the Rolling Stones pushed Sweet Neocon to get their new tour past the pages of Rolling Stone to headline news in papers, Time, and Newsweek. Suddenly the world watches Keith Richards provide political commentary thanks to brilliant (sarcasm) lyrics like:
You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite/You call yourself a patriot, well I think you’re full of …
At one point in its history, one could argue that the West was too sure of itself as the foremost of civilizations. However, such is no longer the case today. In theory, pluralists and multiculturalists contend that no way of life or culture is better than any other. Thus, one would think that Western and American perspectives and traditions would be welcomed into this expanded showcase of human achievement.
I sure as heck did not receive an invitation to attend, and I didn’t partake of all the offerings on TV of the Inauguration. I figured I’d see all I wanted to see, and then some, of Mr. Obama over the next four years so why overindulge this early on in the game. Besides, the remarks made by Douglas Adams, a British comedy writer crossed my mind. Mr, Douglas is credited with having said: “
“Change” was a mantra of President-elect Barack Obama, and “change” is what propelled him into the White House as the first black president of the United States by defeating a sitting senior senator from New York and the wife of the original “first black president,” Bill Clinton. Yet, I don’t see real change with Obama; I see Presidents Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Jimmy Carter and William Clinton, redux (part II) – but also LBJ and George W. Bush.
